Well I do like this restaurant but you need to dine in and not take out from the 17th Street location. I ordered only two items for takeout. A Reuben sandwich and an Ahi Tuna salad. The ticket attached to my takeout bag was correct. I get home and the Reuben sandwich was really a Chicken Cheese steak sandwich. I went back to get the Reuben. It took awhile but I got it and left. Then when I got home and unwrapped my Ahi it turned out to be Tempeh. I didn't have time to return there another time. I don't know who they have putting their orders together but it's clearly someone who doesn't have a clue. DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT FROM HERE. read more

If there was an award for "Best Bacon" in Eugene, I have no doubt that Cornucopia would win. This is my favorite breakfast spot in Eugene. The huevos rancheros is my "go to" order with home fries, and of course, a side of bacon. The contrary Mary is a Bloody Mary with a beer back and extra garnish. I order mine spicy, and it's the perfect appetizer before breakfast. Service can be hit and miss (mostly hit), so make sure you aren't in a hurry, then sit back and enjoy the morning. read more

Best veggie burger in town! To be honest, I come to this restaurant all the time (5th and 17th) and I've only had a few things off the menu. The veggie burger is SOO good I don't want anything else, it's a basic black bean burger but it's not one of those frozen patties you get at most places they hand make it here ( or it at least it tastes that way). The staff are so nice, I always get a good friendly service with great beer recommendations. I order takeout a lot and everytime I get there it's perfect.. their tots are the CRUNCHIEST and are addicting. I don't love their veggie chili as there isn't much to it but I will order it agin as it's still tasty, vegetarian friendly restaurant. I like the atmosphere here a lot, the decor and the seating, I'm very comfortable at the 17th location. I don't love their bathrooms but they're always clean. The first thing he told me was that he thought this place was racist because they sat them down and left them until about 10 min and told them they would come back. They never did. I've gotten this delivered on door dash app... and wow! Verrrry tasty! Highly recommend the good fricken chicken tenders! The name is fitting, well seasoned and just delicious, along with the fries. My husband is big on Mac and cheese, it's his favorite. I'm not super into cheese, but he says it's the best ever. Chicken pot pie was still super hot, super yummy and very filling. We stopped by last week for a quick snack before a meeting that we had to make. All we ordered was a " Bavarian Pretzel " and two bowls of the " fully loaded bake potato soup ". They were not busy and we were told it would be a " ten minute wait "...cool..plenty of time. TWENTY FIVE minutes later, we finally got our food to go. We were late to our meeting and opened our food there. The " fully loaded " soup was anything but. It was a watery mess with essentially no potatoes or anything else for that matter. It was bland and pretty gross actually. For over 8 bucks a bowl, expected way more. We opened up the " Bavarian Pretzel " and found a piece of twisted cardboard that poorly imitated something edible. It was dry and completely consistent with something you might find on a hanger in an old bowling alley..we didn't even get past a few bites before tossing it in the trash....again...over 8 bucks for it...we are used to the SUPERB actual Bavarian Pretzels at Pig and Turnip located at the Public House in Springfield. Those pretzels are off the charts amazing. The garbage we ordered at Cornucopia was terribly overpriced with slow service as a bonus....hard pass in the future. read more

My wife and I have eaten at Cornucopia several times and have always thought their food was good. We like the cozy neighborhood feel of 17th St. We wish we lived close enough to walk to it! Yesterday was the first time we indulged in dessert, although we were too full to eat it there after sharing a burger and pot pie! But we ate it at home this afternoon and the Chocolate Mousse Torte was amazing! Now my wife wants a whole cake for her birthday in February! Although it was busy (and a little too noisy) and we waited about 10-12 mins to order, our waitress was friendly, apologetic for the wait (she got stuck making a bunch of Kiddie drinks!) and attentive the whole rest of the time. I usually am very pleased with my meals & service at Cornucopia, both dine-in and takeout....but I made the unfortunate decision to go for brunch on Mother's Day. Yes it's a busy day- and I'm sure that they had been slammed- its normal- BUT, we arrived after the storm, were seated quickly at an open hi-top, and fairly shortly (maybe 5 minutes, I left my phone at home so I wasn't clock-watching, our server arrived & took our drink order (a coffee for me, a Pepsi for him- read easy drinks) and took our food order as well. The drinks came about 20 minutes later- then food arrived after another 10-15 additional minutes. He seemed to enjoy his chicken fried steak, my huevos rancheros was bland and lacking inspiration... but this isn't a Mexican restaurant, so I added table seasonings & made the best of it. (Note to self, I should have asked for the offered hot sauce.) The coffee was fine, but no refills were offered and his Pepsi sat empty through the meal- no refill offered. I have loved this place in the past, and I will go back, as this is their first strike... I wasn't even going to complain, but as a food service worker, I know that feedback is vital. Small and easy to miss if you aren't paying attention, their 17th Ave location is a corner post up that is truly a treasure trove. They've got a really comfortable neighborhood vibe going on inside. It's a bit of a squeeze if they're full, which when my mom and husband and I came for our first visit, they were full to the brim and that was on a Thursday at supper time! There was one or two other parties ahead of us; one seated outside (so there are great patio options!) We waited no more than 10-15 minutes and had a cute little bar height table. Normally I'd be bugged to feel like my back was so exposed but because we really weren't jutting into the main walkway, I felt ok. My mom had a dark lager and one of their burgers. I had the Jack Rabbit Jake and it was to DIE for! It was the grown up grilled cheese I didn't know I was missing. Newsflash; the bacon is next level. Frankly I haven't the foggiest what my husband ate because I was having a "When Harry Met Sally" moment in a grilled cheese sandwich at 30 years old. No regerts. That said, is *not* overrun with manic children like some Chuck E Cheese Family Entertainment Center; atmosphere on the terrace is pretty chill. Went in on a Tuesday evening around 7:00, and got a table in the garden right away. It's really nice back there, and good mix of table types: a few high-tops, a few picnic, and a few normal, patio-style. Service was very friendly and down-to-earth. They know how to charm the kiddos. The interior of Cornucopia on 17th feels pretty bar-like; I probably wouldn't choose to eat there in the winter, but if burgers and beer are really your thing, this is your place. Def. has the comfortable vibe of a 'local.' My s.o correctly pointed out that prices are decidedly on the high side, but noted that the burger quality is among the best in Eug/Springfield area (just after Planktown). As a non-carnivore, I'd probably take the Bierstein instead, where food prices are more approachable. 11.50 for a tempeh sub pushes the limits to begin with, but to get ding'd an extra 50¢ for a side of au jus... eh - I like Bierstein's fresh-cut fries better anyway. read more

Best brunch in Eugene! Super quirky inside with random pictures and art on the walls. We always find something new to look at. Today we found different brewery coasters lining the ceiling! Tables are very small and can make juggling plates and drinks a difficult task, but the food is well worth it. Every employee we passed wished us a good day as we left. The absolute best breakfast item on their menu is Brits Kentucky Breakfast sandwich (fried chicken on a biscuit with a fried egg, cheddar, bacon, and smothered in gravy). Their fried chicken is so crunchy on the outside yet very moist on the inside. The bacon is thick cut and very flavorful. The gravy has no meat, but is yummy all the same! The Pearl scramble is another favorite. The homefries have great flavor, but are sometime undercooked (we like crispy). Their mimosa is served in a goblet "fishbowl" type glass for around $6. The Bloody Mary has a 9oz beer back so you have plenty to drink! read more

This was a terrible experience. We waited for 40 minutes to see our server 2 times and didn't get my wife's soup. We finally got our food and the "special" salmon cakes were bland and came with 2 in the plate for 16$. Our server literally only saw us 1 Time in 25 mins of us eating. My brother has been visiting from Atlanta and between our fishing excursions on the McKenzie river(Aaron Helfrich is an awesome guide) we've been trying eateries unique to Eugene (Buddy's Diner, Jackalope Lounge, Mama Mayra's Kitchen, and Cornucopia). This joint is fun, with an extensive menu, excellent service and delicious food. We sampled the Curry Chicken soup and African Peanut soup - Awesome! My brother had the patty melt and pronounced it great. I went the comfort food route and had the Mac n' Cheese with a green salad - Mmm, Mmm good. Now, unfortunately, they've "simplified" the menu (e.g., no more chicken or eggplant parm w/noodles) and seemingly cut corners everywhere else...all for what, to bring us babyback ribs that are absolutely awful? Ordered these (the ribs) tonight (thankfully with a free dinner coupon) thinking they might be somewhat close to the description in the menu ("falling off the bone" I think is how they described them)...nope - tough as they'd be if someone had basically boiled them for 45 minutes and then thrown them on the grill for 20 minutes and thrown a bunch of sh**y bbq sauce on them - in fact, I'm pretty sure that's what they did. Oh, and then they throw some half-assed roasted potatoes on the plate and call it a meal. $22? F**k you Cornucopia. read more

Cornucopia has the best burger in Eugene. Best fries, too. I am madly in love with them both. Just typing about them now makes me hungry. The rest of the menu isn't bad either, at least the items I've tried. It's a bit overpriced, but I will overlook that if I have a basket of those delicious double-battered fries in front of me. So if I love the burger and fries so much, why only two stars? Of all of the restaurants I've frequented across the places I've lived in my life, I've never had such consistently bad service as what I get at Cornucopia. I've probably been there 10 times in the last two years, and 8 of those times were bad service. 3 of those bad service times it was so bad we actually left the restaurant angry. The last time I was there our waitress said only five words to us: "What do you want?" and "Done?". She never greeted us, never asked us how it was, never came back to give us drink refills. It took an hour and 10 minutes for us to get our check. She dropped that check on our table while flying past, picked it up with similar speed, refusing to speak or make eye contact. If you're patient with bad service, and you've got plenty of time, I would recommend it just based on the amazing burgers. But if you like friendly staff or you have anywhere to be, I'd say skip it. (Cornucopia management: I want to give you a better rating, I really do. But you've got to know your service is terrible. Maybe consider a takeout window? I would frequent that like nobody's business.) read more

This restaurant, like the name implies: horn of plenty, symbol of abundance and nourishment; has a wonderful diversified menu. You can do the hummus plate, choose the soup of the day, or eat their award winning burger. Try their happy hour: Monday through friday, 3pm to 6pm. A Summer evening on their back porch on 17th St = Awesome! My favorite: Gyro Sandwich. A toasted pita filled with Gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, and Tzatziki sauce. I really wish this establishment could get their service together. After multiple visits and consistently receiving bad service, I'm done. There is no reason for them to make mistakes regarding a customers bill. Once you find a mistake they'll give you excessive attitude. The ONLY reason I'm not giving these folks 5 stars is due to my experience this morning. I've been visiting Eugene and have had excellent service from the ladies there all weekend. This morning however, we were seated and then ignored for 15 minutes. The server then took orders from another table seated after us. He didn't even swing by to acknowledge he was busy, or even an "I'll be right with you, sorry" We walked out and even that was not acknowledged, nor were we asked why we were leaving. Bummed hat will be my last recollection of this place. :-( read more
