We came for my birthday and had a wonderful time. Our waiter was very personable and we really enjoyed trying all of the wines and seeing several local ones on the list. It's very easy to spend money here. Love the atmosphere. We'll be back for sure! read more

Always the best location for craft cocktails! Food is a solid compliment as well and the atmosphere is solid.

LOVE this place!! Great service, amazing drinks and excellent food! Can't beat it! Great outdoor patio with tables and even large outdoor sectional couches and fire pits! Very nicely decorated inside and out! Inside there is a great bar area but also quiet, private tables and couch areas. Perfect for a romantic date night or girls night out! First for the drink menu: great selection of premium drinks here! Our favorites were the smoked old fashion (BEST Old Fashioned I have ever had!!) and the wine infused signature cocktail called the Lady Linda (fruity, refreshing, fresh mint and sooo yummy!) For the food: We loved the Won-ton pulled pork tacos, the Old World Board, and the Buffalo Chicken! I have also been for lunch and LOVED the flatbread pizza! Wine Down has a great selection of wine and the wine machines are such a great concept! The wine machines are self serve and let you pick the size pour you would like. Great variety of wines to choose from (40 some bottles in the machines). Will definitely be back! read more

Excellent. In from out of town and stopped by on a recommendation. The Shrimp and Grits are a treat. I am from the South and was a bit apprehensive. Fantastic and the fried egg makes it. Their signature Old Fashion is one of the best cocktails I ever had. Highly recommended. read more

Great atmosphere great light food menus to share with friends and spectacular drinks.

Very cool place. Great atmosphere and nice staff. What makes Wine Down and Tapas unique is the ability for patrons to easily sample dozens of wines in small or large sizes from chilled dispensers. Great way to try different wines before settling on a bottle for dinner, or to just continue enjoying a variety of different wines. I imagine the challenge for this restaurant is not what wines to keep in their cellar, but what wines from their cellar to fit into their dispensers. Next time I'm in Fort Wayne, I'll be back. read more

Wine Down was decent. I wouldn't call it great. When I'm in town I would usually go to Club Soda or Oyster Bar, but I thought I'd give it a try because the hotel recommended it and it was right next door. The actual wine menu is pretty short for a "wine bar". The deviled eggs were great. Pate was good, but the presentation was extremely average. The shrimp cocktail was really good, and the bison meatballs were tasty. One of the recurring themes was that they were out of items (cherry pie, ostrich steak, ginger beer, certain wines just to name a few). It was explained to me that they were in the midst of making some changes, but I find that weird since they've only been open for a few months. The atmosphere was pretty cool, but overall I was a bit underwhelmed. read more

Guys & Gals. I'm in town for work once a month or so, and I don't know that I care to eat/drink anywhere else in Ft. Wayne. Small plates, large plates, desserts, and COCKTAILS...ALL crafted & prepared very deliberately to showcase every ingredient, and executed at the highest caliber. If you're into wine...just go to here. In fact, just stop whatever you're doing and get yourself to Wine Down. Really. Now. The proverbial cherry on top is the people. From my first visit last time I was in town, I felt well-received and welcome. The entire crew is super sweet, engaging, passionate and kind beyond any measure of expectation. I'm grateful to have found this place and these peeps, and look forward to the next time I get to hang with them, eat their food, and drink their drinks. read more

Visited Wine Down on a GNO and was super impressed! The decor was so beautiful- very inviting! Our group sat in a cozy corner on leather couches. We sipped on the smoked old fashioned and sampled a few red wines- all were great! Tried the old world board, crabmeat deviled eggs, and asparagus tips. All were absolutely fabulous- fresh and perfect! Service was good, just a little slow on getting us our checks. Won't stop me from returning though- loved it! read more

The atmosphere is great. We sat at the bar since it was just one other person and I. The bartenders were really great at making sure we were doing okay and were very charming. The pork wontons were okay. They were very heavy on the cilantro. The sweet potato fries were wonderful though! We mostly came for the wine, which is a bit confusing if you're new. I'd advise getting the tasting card. Make sure you put your glass up to the spout BEFORE you press the button or a mess will ensue. The wine was wonderful. read more

This place has a nice selection of wines in that you can buy a card and then sample many different wines...at a cost. As far as "Tapas" I can't recommend. The dish we had was ostrich on a bed of mashed potatoes. It was tasty, however did not qualify to be on a Tapas menu. Nor did a lot of other dishes. It's been my experience when dining at Spanish style Tapas bar, there are dozens of small plates with small portions to share with your guests. There was not a lot of selection in this regard. The difference between value and cost is value is what you get and cost is what you pay. We didn't feel the value warranted the cost. We will continue to frequent Paula's on Main, Club Soda and Cork and Cleaver. read more

Absolutely terrific experience!!! Everything from the Shrimp and Grits to the Old World Board was phenomenal. The self serve wine allows you to sample and pair any combination of wines you can come up with! The open atmosphere and decor is elegant and relaxing!! read more

Wine Down has a great atmosphere, great food and great drinks. The serve yourself concept with the wine is genius to keep up with thirsty people such as myself. I had the crab stuffed deviled eggs and they were to die for. When there is live music on the patio it's either great dancing or great people watching. The location is great - I have been there when the fireworks are displayed after a Tin Caps game and you are in a better seat than the people at the game. We always have courteous staff and the owners come around and check on you to see how your experience has been. Two thumbs up and I can't wait to go back! read more

We had my husband's surprise 40th birthday party at Wine Down last weekend. We booked the party room which has floor to ceiling windows looking out to the baseball field and close access to the patio door. It added to the party vibe that there was a game going on. The huge flat screen TV was a bonus for displaying videos and photos at the party. We had buffet style tapas that everyone raved about and our server, Raj, was amazing. He kept our drinks coming all night and knew us all by name by the end. The management and staff were extremely helpful leading up to he event and were also in on the surprise. I would definitely recommend it for a smallish party, we had 23 people and that was probably pushing it a little for the party room, but people were in and out on the patio since the weather was so great. I am excited to go back for a more intimate dinner and sample some wine! read more

I had the pork belly and it was amazing! I came here during a business trip and was not disappointed. So happy to find such a great place in Fort Wayne. Definitely recommend this place. read more

Upscale restaurant downtown within walking distance of the Marriott and Hilton. The food is fantastic, especially the lamb pops. They also have interesting bites like "alligator etouffee" which were pretty good too. They have an incredible cocktails and wine list. Great for groups (I came here for my bachelorette dinner) or a romantic date night! read more

I look forward to seeing how this place evolves. The food was pretty good, if in need of just a little finesse in some places ( I am, admittedly, insanely picky). We went on their grand opening weekend - So I understand that some things on the menu may change or be adjusted. The method through which you get wine is really easy to understand and use. You get a card, put that in the wine machine/dispenser, choose your pour ( 1 oz, 2.5oz or 5oz) and at the end of your visit, you turn that card in before you pay. As for food - The BBQ Bison Espresso meatballs were great - everyone should order those. The sweet potato fries with pumpkin espresso ketchup were also fantastic. I was skeptical of the ketchup, pumpkin, espresso dip but it really did work with the fries - that came out hot, crispy and well seasoned. The Pâté we ordered was decent but was quite cold when it came out - and my preference is that it be room temperature. (The bread itself was fine - it was the pate that was a bit cold). The pulled pork won-tons overall were good (make sure to utilize those limes that are served with them). The meat was well-prepared and moist but was missing just a smidgen of seasoning/spice to make them awesome. While, at this point, my experience there is limited - I do think their wine pairings were pretty spot on. Follow them when you order food! If I were just to rate the service - I would give it five stars. Our server was Autumn (I hope it's okay we give her a shout out here). She answered every question we had, was knowledgable about the menu, the wine offerings and put up with our annoying ordering habits (not knowing what we wanted and sporadically ordering plates with no rhyme or reason). It also seemed as though it may have been a hectic night for a brand new restaurant and she had everything together. Cannot say enough good things about our service there. Overall - I love wine and this place serves exactly the kind of food I like. I will be back to try more of their menu. And more of the wine :-) read more

I know that this restaurant is alot better than the experience I had there a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, I can't speak to what normally happens there. The atmosphere is beautiful. Nicely decorated with booths, high top tables, bar seating and beautiful stone alcoves with couches and coffee tables. We had a reservation and 3 parties walked in at the same time. The hostess helped the party in front of us, then another hostess walked around our group and helped the party behind us. Leaving the 6 of us in my party standing at the hostess station being ignored. Finally someone looked up at us and asked if we had been helped. Not the best way to start the evening. Once our table was ready...15 mins past our reservation time, we were seated. We sat there awhile before our waiter approached. We placed our drink order which was an ordeal in itself as they didn't have any "berry" drinks that night because they were "out of season". This seemed odd to me considering I bought all different kinds of berries at Kroger that morning. Although we didn't know this until after our waiter came to deliver the drinks and attempted to give us random other drinks, we did not order, in place of the berry ones we had ordered. When we questioned this he became extremely flustered and another server came and she tried to clear up the situation. We said we would keep the drinks, but not pay for them, he responded "Someone's got to pay for them!" Needless to say we had the incorrect drinks taken away and ordered other non berry drinks. My first drink was a summer mule. Tasted like juice with no ginger at all. I sent it back and the second was perfection, delicious and refreshing. The meal got better from here, as the servers seemed to be able to relax and become more personable and attentive. We ordered the ostrich and crab deviled eggs. The eggs were good but the ostrich was so chewy it felt like I was eating a trampoline. I enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits as my entrée. It was seasoned perfectly, creamy and delicious. I can't count the number of times throughout the evening we were told that the kitchen and bar were backed up and that this is the busiest the restaurant had been since opening. I am sure that it was a stressful evening, but my philosophy on the matter is, don't let them see you sweat. We didn't need the chef coming from the kitchen and stopping at our table to remind us of this, because our poor experience was a reflection of the inability for the restaurant to handle a busy Saturday night in Fort Wayne. Unfortunately my overall experience on this occasion was not the best, but with that being said, I am open to going to Wine Down again because I am certain that my experience was abnormal. read more

I love two things: wine and machines and this place has both! Wine dispensers that allow one to sample any number of fine wines with the push of a button. The selection is fantastic and we were able to try a variety of wines we'd never be able to try anywhere else. read more

This is one of the best places in downtown Fort Wayne. The service, atmosphere and the food are all top notch!

Very good food. Great service. Beautiful interior dining and outstanding fun outdoor seating

I really like this place. The ambiance inside & out is awesome & the owners are accommodating, friendly & hands-on. The wine vending machines are a great concept & a nice, fun way to experience new wines, but they also offer 'normal' drink service. I love the Old World meat & cheese board, the pate & bleu cheese slaw. If you're there & the weather's good, enjoy the outdoor patio overlooking Parkview Field. They are active on Facebook & you can follow for special events, tastings & entertainment. read more

Excellent restaurant! My husband and I will definitely be going back. The wait staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable. Our food was delicious and cleverly presented. I like that it's a tapas restaurant with lots of small plate options but they also have large plate options as well. Extensive wine menu, as well as superior cocktails. We tried the crab deviled eggs, arancinis, blue cheese coleslaw, crab cakes (a special item), and the shrimp and grits, as well as a superb cheesecake (made in house). All in all, a wonderful dining experience! read more

The salted-seared shrimp are to die for, so good. Steaks are always made to perfection and very tasty. The old World cheese board is great as a starter along with the shrimp. This is our favorite place in Fort Wayne to dine! read more

We visited the Copper Spoon last weekend. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. My wife had the double cheeseburger, it was really good. I had the Salmon. It was unimpressive. It tasted even worse coming up the next day. Worse case of food poisoning I have ever had. Thanks Copper Spoon but never again! read more

Wine Down just opened officially and it's already awesome. The service, wine selection, and atmosphere are all super conducive to...winding down. The owner, Sarah was super kind and accommodating of our large group. And the pretzel was delicious. What more could you ask? read more

I go here way too much. Bar staff is the best in town. Best chef in town. No wonder they won a majority of the local awards.

Having been to Copper Spoon several times, we looked forward to a good meal in a nice atmosphere. We sat in the bar/restaurant area. The place was fairly empty, and who was there were middle age or older patrons. Our meal were good (other than the overpriced $16 Tom Collins), but we couldn't get past the loud music. If it was jazz or some other pleasant genre of music we wouldn't have minded. But it was some alternative music not fitting for the atmosphere or age of the clientele. We said something to our server, but she suggested we sit in another room if we didn't like the loud music. We would have had another round of drinks, but we just wanted to get out of there. It was disappointing! I'm not sure, what clientele this restaurant is trying to target, but apparently it isn't us! read more

Had a wonderful experience at Wine Down tonight. It's got a cozy atmosphere and the service is fantastic. I sat at the bar and Carl was my bartender/server. Based on previous reviews, I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned; it did not disappoint--the drink was aromatic and slightly sweet with a hint of smoke that they actually trap inside the glass using some unknown magic. Thank you to Carl for being such a talented bartender and for taking the time to give me recommendations for an upcoming trip. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more

We had a great time. Service was good, and food came out in a timely manner. While waiting we sat back and had a relaxing class of wine. The price was in line with what we been paying at other restaurants. We ill go back. Parking was the only issue we had. After driving around a few minutes a parking lot was found across the street. read more

Great service from Jerry who has been our waiter twice, food is excellent, excellent place to eat!

We've been here twice. It's a little different experience depending on which area you decide to sit in and whether you participate in the wine tastings. Our first visit we sat at the bar and ordered cocktails. The smoked bourbon was an experience you should definitely do. We did the bison meatballs and bourbon balls. Both delicious. The chef came out to socialize and the bartenders were fun. Our second visit we sat in the upstairs area overlooking the ballpark. Giant comfy seats. The serving staff were very conversational and care about your experience. They've tasted all the food and can guide you. We did the wine pours and settled on a bourbon Zinfandel. The bison burger was amazing-who would ever think to serve it on a waffle with blue cheese coleslaw and the espresso BbQ sauce(!!!!!). Dessert- highly recommend the key lime sundae. read more

This place rocks. Great food. Great drinks. Fun and friendly staff. I love the wings and if Morels are on the menu get them! The drink menu is full of so many things. And the servers and bartenders are great guides at navigating the 50+ pages of beverages available. If you enjoy supporting businesses that put dollars back into their community then this place is a must stop. It feels good knowing the money I spend at Copper Spoon gets pumped back into our local economy. Local produce. Local proteins. Local spirits. Local brews. The atmosphere is great. The waiters definitely have much knowledge about the drinks they are serving and know how to help you find the right drink. I wouldn't recommend the chicken, but the rice it came with is amazing. The scallops and salmon are to die for. Their pimento cheese and cheese boards are the perfect appetizers. The drinks there definitely compliment the alcohol they have in them. The service is friendly and the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing read more
