That being said, Tower has the THE BEST wings in all of FW as a long time local. The Tower grilled in particular are exceptional. So much so I will drive all the way across town just for these wings. They give you a good balance of flats and drums but you can pay and upcharge to make them all just flats or drums. My only complaint is that you can only order it in a set of 10 wings, which is slightly frustrating when I want more or less.

TB&G is a good ole no frills blue collar working man's bar. The place is kind of dingy and run down, the food is decent, and the service is ok. I've seen a lot of chatter about their wings being hands down the best in town... While they're good, I don't think they come anywhere close to Shigs in Pit (which I contend are the best in Fort Wayne by a mile). Nonetheless, TB&G has some solid wings and their burgers, sandwiches, etc. look alright too. Probably the biggest drawback is the price... $35 w/ tip for lunch (10 wings w/ celery and ranch, small house salad, and iced tea) is steep. While TB&G is good, it doesn't come anywhere close to Morgan's and other dive bars in town.

This was my first time ordering from Chevvy's. I've driven by their strategically located building for years. I've seen the pizza sign and thought I've got to give it a try. So i did!! Finding the entrance to the parking lot is a challenge as you have to enter from the north side. The place appears to be small on the outside but feels rather large on the inside. The bar takes a prominent place when you walk in. The bar tending team was very friendly and helpful. Chevvy's has a decent sized menu of specialty 12, 14 and 16 inch pizzas. The prices seem like they might be on the plus side of average die a hand tossed-thin type pizza. We went with the Everything pizza on this visit. The pizza crust is on the plus side of thin crust but not quite as thick as a hand tossed. It was baked to a nice soft and moist bottom side. The top side crust browned and crisped up nicely. This thickness is somewhat unique for Fort Wayne. The crust didn't have any distinct seasoning flavor. The tomato sauce has a nice sweet tomato paste flavor. You won't find much of the flavor on the pizza except in areas where the sauce got pooled. You pick up the taste more on the edge of bare pizza crust where there aren't many toppings. I thought the sauce was so good that I would probably order it with extra sauce the next time to make sure the whole pizza was accented with this flavor. The Everything pizza had plenty of fresh toppings. The toppings tended to pile up into layers more toward the middle of the pizza. The meats had a nice bolder flavor. The tasty mozzarella was decently thick to hold all the topping together yet thin enough that it didn't have that beautiful stringy pull apart stretch. Is Chevvy's famous for their pizza? They could be more famous if people knew about their thin crust and tasty pizza flavors. I'm sure those that have had Chevvy's pizza are more likely to tell others about it! Give it a try if you have not had a famous Chevvy's pizza! While trying their famous pizza I decided to sample the wings. Chevvy's is definitely NOT a destination for wings. You can find their 8 medium-large wings for $15 offering on the appetizer menu. They only offer four flavors of wings. Do not a destination but not bad. The wing was perfectly cooked. All white inside that was very moist and tender. They are briefly fried such that only the ends of the rings had any crispiness. The order comes with medium to large sized wings. Chevvy's only offers hot, mild, BBQ and teriyaki sauces. I went with the teriyaki. The sauce was thin in consistency but did a nice job at sticking to the wing. They dipped the wings in sauce so there was plenty of flavor. While the teriyaki flavor was mild...it did have a distinct teriyaki appeal. The appetizer came with three celery stick and your choice of ranch or blue cheese dressings. The blue cheese dressing was very thin and some small clumps of blue cheese crumbles mixed in. Not very appealing in my book. Overall...wings probably aren't Chevvy's claim to fame. Chevvy's isn't a destination for wings. However, if you are there, and you want some different that is on the menu...their wings aren't a bad choice.

Noel and Angie helped give me recommendations for party placement, appetizer suggestions and helping get our party setup for my beautiful wife. We had two servers who did an amazing job, helping with taking all orders, coordinating the champagne toast and cutting her birthday cake. I am greatly appreciate these two servers, they did a fantastic job with our party of 26+. The venue was nice and the food good... and at least on average, the staff was serviceable. But one hour after the music was to begin, it had not. A bass player had showed up and was trying like mad to dial the pianist and/or singer via cell phone to understand why they were not present. After waiting for an hour, I paid my bill and started to leave. A young member of the wait staff stepped in front of me and said "the music is about to start." I smiled and kept walking toward the door. Next time I want jazz, I'll head to Chicago. Being an hour late with the music over there just would not fly, and it never happens. A venue in that city that was unreliable regading it's musical acts would simply not be able to stay in business.

I'm going to guess it was never rang in. Because it was pushing 1.5 hrs and it wasn't close to being done? They were steady but I wouldn't say busy. They had plenty of staff on but our server had a lot of tables. We left and she took the pizza off and apologized but I don't think that's enough when one person leaves and doesn't get dinner. If the kitchen was behind, if the pizzas were taking longer, if the service wasn't going to be lacking "just be honest at the beginning". Honestly was truly disappointing and not a good visit.

We also ordered a couple of smoked Old Fashioneds that were a great way to start the night I wanted sea bass, but they were out, so I went with the walleye fish and chips. You decide what you value and how you want to spend your dinning dollars. The Oyster Bar is located south of downtown area on Calhoun Street. The vintage building is well signed, lighted and offers an easy-in-easy-out side parking lot. The restaurant only holds about 50 dinners with a limited number of tables and a small bar. I would suggest that you call and make a reservation as The Oyster Bar is a fairly popular place to dine. Inside the building has retained the historic look. The foyer is very small...just like walking into an old house. They feature lots of dark hardwoods and a vintage looking bar. The tables are located very close together as you would expect in a small area. I think the tables are smaller in size as it was difficult to accommodate all the dishes, menus, glasses and cell phones. The white table linens and attractive "sea going" decor help set the experience. The staff on this night was very friendly, professional and helpful. They made us feel welcomed quickly. The waitress was great about removing dishes, refills and stopping to check on us. It's easier when all your tables are close together. Overall the food was excellent. Fresh seafood in Fort Wayne isn't common place. The food creations were delicious & creative without being all that unique. You will find a fairly broad menu to meet most dinner's choices. Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Calm Chowder: very creamy without being overly rich to taste; moderately thick in consistency with a mild clam flavor; several larger pieces of clam meat; very good taste -Oysters on the half shell: beautiful presentation; oysters were fresh taste; no salty or "sea" tastes/smells; a small dab of sweet cocktail sauce and ground horseradish were nice add; oysters were outstanding!! -Fried Hushpuppies: no corn meal breading here. The outside was lightly fried and slightly oily to taste. The inside was slightly sweet, soft and moist. The chipotle aioli sauce has a very mild southwestern flavor that accented the sweet breading. -Crab Cakes: two fairly large cakes packed with real crab meat; gently fried; the fresh seafood flavors come through nicely; another very good dish! -Seafood Au Gratin: plenty of chunks of scallops and crab buried in a delicious lobster cream sauce and layer of mozzarella cheese. The sauce was creamy and mild without being rich. The seafood pieces retained their original flavor. The cheese topping was nice and gooey which held the seafood & sauce together nicely. Delicious dish!! -Diver Scallops: large and plump scallops cooked perfectly; very tender and moist without a "fishy" taste - nicely done!! I very much enjoyed the dinning experience. I love restaurants that retain and feature an older buildings character. I appreciate high levels of service and outstandingly delicious food. Especially when it comes to fresh seafood!!

For all you non-smokers I'm sorry but you have enough places that smoking is banned in....leave us a few places to go and relax. If you dont like the sell of smoke then dont go. They have pool tables and if you play fast games then the $5 and hour is a good deal but if you suck like I do then one game is usually 30 min lol then it is a bit pricey....but all in all not to shabby. There is also a shuffle board game to be played by the door too.

Let us taste a peanut butter whiskey which I highly recommend getting a shot of. So smooth and the peanut butter taste will linger in your mouth and be savory for awhile after so don't chase it with anything because it's delish. Great spot for groups or going there after work for a beer and great company. Try it if you've never been. Keep going if you love it too. Support local business.
