Enjoyed to much to get great photos. My first time trying oysters and a delicious dessert to complete the night

110% recommend. Don't regret missing your chance to experience delicious food and comfortable atmosphere. The service was beyond my expectations especially considering it was a Friday night. As a non-local, I felt like a regular. You won't be disappointed.

Believe the hype! I was staying down the street at the Hilton and got a recommendation from the bartender. I walked down at about 4 PM and spoke with a waitress and the bartender in The Oyster Bar about the menu, seat availability, etc. They were both so kind and helpful. We returned at 7 for dinner and had seats reserved at the bar. This is a small restaurant, so reservations are recommended. It is a small restaurant but clean and very efficient. I had the raw Chesapeake Bay oysters and the Admiral Cut Filet mignon. Both were perfect!

OMG! This place is a must while you're in town. The history of the location along with the service and experience were all amazing. The food met my expectations and then some I would highly recommend the oyster bar to anyone that is in the area.

Went for savor Ft Wayne but have been here several times in the past. The food is always fresh and delicious. I loved the tuna tartare. Black and bleu salmon was very good, the bleu cheese was not over powering in the dish. Cioppino flavors were decent, but on the heavier side than I'm used to. Their bread is hot and fresh too. Full bar and cocktails here are strong. Our service this time was okay but we've definitely had better in the past here. It is VERY small inside but that's what makes it the oyster bar.

The ambiance is very pleasant, with a cozy atmosphere that sets a nice tone. I'm a fan of their menu and specials. Although I can't recall the name of our waitress, she did an outstanding job--welcoming and incredibly helpful. The food was cooked to perfection, and the raw oysters were a highlight; you can't go wrong with them.

The Oyster Bar has great food, and we got great and friendly service. Def want to try it again soon when they're serving prime rib.

It really is a must try if you are looking g for a dinning experience. The facility is small and parking out back can be a challenge. Making reservations is easy on their website. I would encourage this as it is nice to have and be able to relax. The team here is great. Addie greeted us and quickly got us to our table. She was friendly, all smiles and quick to make sure our water glasses were refilled. Chelsea was our waitress. She made us feel right at home and welcomed. She made sure to follow up regularly with us and was very friendly. Corey, one of the owners and chefs, came out to meet us. You could tell that he was genuinely glad we were there and wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the cook. The atmosphere is very quaint. The dining area is small but overly packed or loud. The white table coverings and dim lights were nice. There was soft jazz music overhead and an interesting collection of local art work on the wall. I was surprised that Chance didn't have much drink service outside of beer and wine. There is a bar predominantly places in the restaurant but no liquor items to serve. The wine list was moderately large and had a couple items that would appeal to dry red wine drinkers. One of the things I like about Chance is the selection of small plate shareables. You can make a meal out of a couple or accent an entree as an appetizer. We like to get several of these to sample. We started with the beer bread. The comes with two large slices of bread. The bread is served room temperature. This leads you to conclude, at first bite, that the bread is a bit dry and stale. The bread is thick and dense. It does has a drier taste but it isn't dry. There is a good beer flavoring present. The honey butter was fun. The butter chunk was thicker and hard. The honey was drizzled over the top with possibly a little cinnamon accent. You had to work a little to get the ratio and spread you want. The beer battered mushrooms are still good. The medium sized mushroom is covered in a thick and crispy batter. There is a slight beer taste in each large mushroom. The mild horseradish dipping sauce was a nice compliment. We also ordered the rib tips. This is a small dish that is packed with lots of flavor. The crispy garlic chips were unique and tasty. The garlic is overpowering and crisp tastes slightly burnt. The honey BBQ sauce is delicious - mop it off the plate delicious! The sauce is thick and sweet. It has a slightly strong BBQ spice flavor. The jalapeño rings are well cooked and soaked up the BBQ glaze nicely. While tasty the jalapeño rings were slightly spicy to taste. We did order the ricotta gnocchi again. It was delicious the first time we ordered it. It was outstanding again. The gnocchi is freshly made and soft but slightly firm to cut. The ricotta gives the dish a slight cheese flavor. The tomato based sauce is smooth and moderately thick. The sightly sweet Italian seasoned sauce was a perfect covering for the gnocchi!

What left me puzzled is food. What I loved were fries, round shaped which I thought was rather unusual and just the right amount of salt, crispiness, softness inside. That's about it though. As a main dish I picked prosciutto focaccia and while on paper it looked great, it came out very dry, almost stale, I didn't enjoy it at all. While fries were great, the portion of it was tiny. Like, 10 or 11 fries in a small plate. My partner got a chicken sandwich and it was good. Now, the kids got kids burger which comes with fries too and I swear the kids plate had double the fries compared to my side. We also got kids pasta and it was the same size as someone's pasta from our party. I mean, great value for kids menu items, sure, but I'm just not sure why adult dishes are so slim compared to kids. When they brought the check we noticed two items in it that we didn't order, which we realized after paying for it and looking at the receipt (they use portable terminals and have an option to text you the receipt). Our server corrected the mistake and refunded the difference for the two items we didn't order promptly after we pointed it out but this still left a bad aftertaste for us; we don't always look at receipts and this one would've gone unnoticed for sure, we only looked because total seems a bit too high. I also noticed that the soup upcharge on the menu is $2, but on the check it was $3. Pointed it out to the server too but she didn't do anything about it. It's just a dollar so we didn't press for it, and again, only noticed it because we started looking at the receipt due to unusually high total. Anyway, it was nice to visit, but we won't be back.

His current venture, Bistro Nota, is great, but has a couple of flaws. First, let's talk about what's good. Mainly it's the food, which is uniformly and consistently excellent. Flavors and textures are spot on and portions are generous. The wait staff are well-trained, attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. Decor is basic, but the room is comfortable and the background music is well-chosen and at just the right sound level. The flaws are mainly two. First, the menu never changes. We've been patronizing the restaurant since it opened and are getting little tired of the same offerings. And for a person like myself, who doesn't eat red meat, the selections are even more limited as beef plays a major role on the menu. My conception of a fine dining restaurant (I don't know -- maybe Bistro Nota doesn't see itself as that) is one where you are offered a chance to discover something new at every visit. Bistro Nota doesn't fill that criterion. Second, the dessert menu is abysmal. Typically you have the options of a chocolate chip cookie or a blondie. From time to time the restaurant will offer a "special" dessert (there was a tasty pot de creme a couple of weeks ago), but they never stay around and you have to be pretty lucky to be there when one is offered. For a restaurant with such high quality apps and mains, the limited dessert menu seems like a major flaw. Right now Bistro Nota is very good, really nice, a reasonable option for those looking for some really tasty food. With some attention these two criticisms, Bistro Nota could really elevate itself to something special that would rival anything to be found anywhere in northeast Indiana.

My lobster bisque was at best average without chunks of lobster meat that I get at Weber's in Ann Arbor. Menu has to be limited since they have it on a meat cleaver (too cute but very heavy idea). Others enjoyed their choices. Our group was in one of the dining rooms and not the private room. A little noisy.
