    Flirtini

I was traveling by myself so I ate the wine bar. The service was great and the food was delicious. I got the Flirtini and it was perfectly made. For dinner I got the Walleye and Tomato Bisque soup with crab. Bother we're really good and nicely done. Next time I stay on this side of Ft Wayne for work I will for sure be back. They are located in a strip center and parking can be a little tricky since it seems to be pretty busy.

Chop's Wine Bar is a perfect place to stop for a night out with the girls or even a romantic date night. This is nestled right next door to Chop's Steak & Seafood and features a more casual vibe and atmosphere. The service is fantastic. The bartenders and waitresses know the menu very well and offer great suggestions. You can also find the manager nearby to ensure everything is as it should be. This is a great place for a casual drink and light food or even an entree and dessert after. Whatever you choose! I recently stopped in and ordered dessert after having dinner at the restaurant next door. It was pleasantly busy around 8PM. I ordered a Spanish coffee and the waffle dessert. Waffle, I know it sounds crazy, but it was delicious! Paired with salted caramel ice cream, strawberries, whipped cream and drizzled in chocolate. This was a unique, sweet treat! If you are looking for a place to stop on your night out, this is it!

A lovely dinner at the bar with my husband on Wednesday night. We enjoyed the Buddha bowl! Packed full of fresh veggies and noodles! Always a great go to for our plant based diet. Would love it even more if you could offer it with tofu! The live entertainment was very nice! Thank you

This place gets 4 stars for the atmosphere. The vibe is kickin'. The romantic wine bar side of Chop's Steak & Seafood is a must for a date night. It is also cozy for a girl's night out. A little bit of an older bar crowd seems to gather here - 30s-50s. It is tucked in next to asakusa. I suspect they get lots of traffic from people who live SW but work downtown. Perfect little spot for a happy hour with coworkers after a long day. Service is great. Although the wine bar side is more relaxed than Chop's you still feel like you are getting fine dining service. Servers seem to know the wine and cocktail list very well and can recommend drinks when asked. The food unfortunately never is over the top for me. It's good, but I wish it was great. This last time a few friends and I split the Mac n cheese, pretzel bread sticks, steak risotto, fish tacos, and a flatbread. I think the recurring factor is lack of flavor. Every time I order here I'm expecting greatness and I always enjoy my meal but there's just nothing special about it. Plates range from $5- less than $20 but I still think my $14 fish tacos are overpriced for the ingredients. I do enjoy the atmosphere and cocktails so I will continue to dine here with friends and will be waiting to be WOW-ed by a dish.

Great atmosphere especially when Brad is behind the bar. Martinis are delicious and wine list is great. Food is also not too shabby.

I think the use of wine bar is pretty loose when you only offer two Chardonnays by the glass and both are oaky. Won't be back for wine.

Parking is easy; there are plenty of spots. Food: The Smash Burger smashed my cravings. Garlic truffle fries were finger licking good. And those cheese curds...jeez a Midwestern happiness on a plate. Depending on the time of day, they've got brunch, lunch, or dinner menu options. I didn't try the alcohol (maybe next time!)...but they had slushie wines and cocktails that looked fun. Service/Ambiance: Staff was super friendly and patient with us first timers. We sat inside where it's bright, airy, and you get a peek at both the bar and the view outside. The patio has shade, plus there are cozy private rooms with fireplaces and TVs, perfect for groups. You can even wander out to the deck and grassy area to admire grapevines and the pond (brownie points: it's baby friendly, so my little one had a good time too)! Overall, this is a cool spot and hidden gem. Great for birthdays, date nights, or even a proposal if you're feeling lucky. The deck overlooking the water is lovely for photos too. I'll be back!

It really is a must try if you are looking g for a dinning experience. The facility is small and parking out back can be a challenge. Making reservations is easy on their website. I would encourage this as it is nice to have and be able to relax. The team here is great. Addie greeted us and quickly got us to our table. She was friendly, all smiles and quick to make sure our water glasses were refilled. Chelsea was our waitress. She made us feel right at home and welcomed. She made sure to follow up regularly with us and was very friendly. Corey, one of the owners and chefs, came out to meet us. You could tell that he was genuinely glad we were there and wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the cook. The atmosphere is very quaint. The dining area is small but overly packed or loud. The white table coverings and dim lights were nice. There was soft jazz music overhead and an interesting collection of local art work on the wall. I was surprised that Chance didn't have much drink service outside of beer and wine. There is a bar predominantly places in the restaurant but no liquor items to serve. The wine list was moderately large and had a couple items that would appeal to dry red wine drinkers. One of the things I like about Chance is the selection of small plate shareables. You can make a meal out of a couple or accent an entree as an appetizer. We like to get several of these to sample. We started with the beer bread. The comes with two large slices of bread. The bread is served room temperature. This leads you to conclude, at first bite, that the bread is a bit dry and stale. The bread is thick and dense. It does has a drier taste but it isn't dry. There is a good beer flavoring present. The honey butter was fun. The butter chunk was thicker and hard. The honey was drizzled over the top with possibly a little cinnamon accent. You had to work a little to get the ratio and spread you want. The beer battered mushrooms are still good. The medium sized mushroom is covered in a thick and crispy batter. There is a slight beer taste in each large mushroom. The mild horseradish dipping sauce was a nice compliment. We also ordered the rib tips. This is a small dish that is packed with lots of flavor. The crispy garlic chips were unique and tasty. The garlic is overpowering and crisp tastes slightly burnt. The honey BBQ sauce is delicious - mop it off the plate delicious! The sauce is thick and sweet. It has a slightly strong BBQ spice flavor. The jalapeño rings are well cooked and soaked up the BBQ glaze nicely. While tasty the jalapeño rings were slightly spicy to taste. We did order the ricotta gnocchi again. It was delicious the first time we ordered it. It was outstanding again. The gnocchi is freshly made and soft but slightly firm to cut. The ricotta gives the dish a slight cheese flavor. The tomato based sauce is smooth and moderately thick. The sightly sweet Italian seasoned sauce was a perfect covering for the gnocchi!

I also enjoyed a Saffron Masala Chai, which is easily the best chai I've ever had. The serving dishes & experience was more elevated than I was anticipating, so that was a real treat. A small detail, sure, but it makes the entire dining experience so much lovelier. The prices were very reasonable and as expected. The Oyster Bar - 130 years of history for this iconic seafood establishment…read more The Oyster Bar is not for everyone. It is expensive. The restaurant only holds about 50 dinners and the tables are uncomfortably small & close together. It's also located in a neighborhood that might make some people take caution. On the flip side...The Oyster Bar offers 130 years of history in a uniquely older facility that features fresh high quality seafood along with outstanding service. You decide what you value and how you want to spend your dinning dollars. The Oyster Bar is located south of downtown area on Calhoun Street. The vintage building is well signed, lighted and offers an easy-in-easy-out side parking lot. The restaurant only holds about 50 dinners with a limited number of tables and a small bar. I would suggest that you call and make a reservation as The Oyster Bar is a fairly popular place to dine. Inside the building has retained the historic look. The foyer is very small...just like walking into an old house. They feature lots of dark hardwoods and a vintage looking bar. The tables are located very close together as you would expect in a small area. I think the tables are smaller in size as it was difficult to accommodate all the dishes, menus, glasses and cell phones. The white table linens and attractive "sea going" decor help set the experience. The staff on this night was very friendly, professional and helpful. They made us feel welcomed quickly. The waitress was great about removing dishes, refills and stopping to check on us. It's easier when all your tables are close together. Overall the food was excellent. Fresh seafood in Fort Wayne isn't common place. The food creations were delicious & creative without being all that unique. You will find a fairly broad menu to meet most dinner's choices. Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Calm Chowder: very creamy without being overly rich to taste; moderately thick in consistency with a mild clam flavor; several larger pieces of clam meat; very good taste -Oysters on the half shell: beautiful presentation; oysters were fresh taste; no salty or "sea" tastes/smells; a small dab of sweet cocktail sauce and ground horseradish were nice add; oysters were outstanding!! -Fried Hushpuppies: no corn meal breading here. The outside was lightly fried and slightly oily to taste. The inside was slightly sweet, soft and moist. The chipotle aioli sauce has a very mild southwestern flavor that accented the sweet breading. -Crab Cakes: two fairly large cakes packed with real crab meat; gently fried; the fresh seafood flavors come through nicely; another very good dish! -Seafood Au Gratin: plenty of chunks of scallops and crab buried in a delicious lobster cream sauce and layer of mozzarella cheese. The sauce was creamy and mild without being rich. The seafood pieces retained their original flavor. The cheese topping was nice and gooey which held the seafood & sauce together nicely. Delicious dish!! -Diver Scallops: large and plump scallops cooked perfectly; very tender and moist without a "fishy" taste - nicely done!! I very much enjoyed the dinning experience. I love restaurants that retain and feature an older buildings character. I appreciate high levels of service and outstandingly delicious food. Especially when it comes to fresh seafood!!
