We have dined many times at the Fort Wayne location of Eddie Merlots over the years. We have always received top-notch service, the food is ALWAYS spot-on and we especially LOVE sitting in the bar or at the bar rail for their excellent Happy Hour and their lounge menu. They also have great, live music at the bar and we love the ambiance. Favorites are: Lamb Lollipops, Ahi Tuna Wontons and their WONDERFUL Maryland Crab Cakes that can double as a meal! Their rotating "oysters on the half shell" with apple champagne mignonette are also good. Just ask your waitstaff what oyster is featured! read more

You can't go wrong with this. 5/5 stars. New York Strip - 16oz $62 - Also good sear and cook. If you like less fatty meat and more meaty flavor, get this. 5/5 stars. Hollandaise Sauce - $3 - Mild in flavor. This could be better. 3/5 stars. Jalapeno Au Gratin Potatoes - $12 - Very cheesy which leads to it being a little greasy. Husband loves it, but I thought it was just ok. 4/5 stars. Macaroni and Cheese - $12 - The consistency is always different. We always order this cause we love it, but sometimes it's creamier than other times. I suggest making sure it's creamy. Flavor is really good. Lobster doesn't add to the flavor, so I recommend just getting it plain. If it was always creamy, easy 5 stars all the time. 4.5/5 stars. Wagyu Ribeye - $99 - Very good. The prime ribeye is so good that I don't find it necessary to get this. 5/5 stars. Tempura Green Beans - $12 - The tempura part is good, but I'm not a fan of the wasabi dipping sauce. I just don't like wasabi at all. 4/5 stars. Grilled Asparagus - $14 - Always good. 5/5 stars. They had Eddie's Potatoes, and that was probably the best side dish. It was 5 stars easily. It'll change your life. If you happen to see it on the menu, get it. Soups French Onion Soup - $12 - This was ok but not worth it. Needs more flavor and salt. 2.5/5 stars. King Crab and Corn Bisque - $12 - This is a very good soup. Good flavor and good salt level. 5/5 stars. Happy Hour Menu Ahi Tuna Wontons - $10 - Decent, but I wouldn't pay more than $10 for it. 4/5 stars. Filet Mignon Sliders - $15 - Love this. Very tasty. 5/5 stars. Prime French Dip Sliders - $10 - This one wasn't as good as the filet mignon sliders. 2/5 stars. All desserts can easily feed 2 people. They are huge and so worth it. Peanut Butter Cup - $9 - Best dessert hands down. It's so creamy and delicious. You'll be hooked. 5/5 stars. Carrot Cake - $11 - Now I'm not a fan of carrot cake, but I actually like this one. It's probably the best in the city. 5/5 stars. Triple Chocolate Cake - $11 - Very good and not overbearingly chocolate. The fudgy chocolate icing is to die for. I need to know this recipe. Went here for our Anniversary tonight. Placed an appetizer order and our dinner order. Waited 45 minutes, asked the waiter can you please check on our appetizer, finally brings them say's sorry forgot about them. Other tables around us, people sat down 20-25 minutes after we sat down and had their food before we had ours, the same waiter. Ordered the oysters Rockefeller for the appetizer, was not great, the oysters were cocked to the size of a peanut. We never received our entries, asked for the manager, told him about the experience. An absolute terrible experience at this restaurant and will not even remotely recommend this location. I don't believe it was the restaurant, it the waiters responsibility to check on orders being delivered in a timely manner. We orders a wedge salad and seared Halibut and a lobster tail. We came here before a play in Fort Wayne as part of our "stay-cation" away from Indy. We made reservations and we were seated promptly and in a beautiful room just off the main dining room. Mark was our server and he was absolutely fantastic! He had wonderful suggestions and really made our dining experience a great one. We had the French Onion soup and the King Crab and Corn Bisque. It's been a while since I've been back to Eddie Merlot, and I'll let you judge the good and the bad. We were able to secure reservations on Sunday night without any problem. The restaurant was not too busy. The server was super friendly, however, we found the service to be exceptionally slow. We had our dinner reservation at 5:45 and we didn't leave the restaurant until eight. This was part of the savor menu where for $55 you got a three course meal. The king crab and corn bisque was tasty. However, the soup itself was very lukewarm. The filet mignon and sides were as expected; delicious being it is a steakhouse after all. The triple chocolate cake although a lot smaller than the normal one was a great way to end the meal. Overall, the steak was on point however the lukewarm soup and slow dinner service distracted from the experience. I don't know how things are during the normal dinner service, but 2 hours+ for dinner is just too long. read more

Eddie's has been a five star every time I have visited prior. However this time around...which is my only current review...they were not. We visited Eddie's for a financial planning event. The room was well organized and perfect for the event. We felt very comfortable and welcomed by the restaurant staff. The waitress seemed less focused on personal service than getting the room served. Because of the event our menu was tailored. The Caesar salad was fresh tasting. The dressing was light and didn't dominate the flavor. The Parmesan cheese was fresh and accented the salad well. I asked to add anchovies. They loaded me up - which was excellent. However I was very disappointed in the quality of anchovies. They came in a thick solution that was very unusual. The anchovies didn't have the usual fresh salty pop like I would expect. The table bread was very nice - moist and soft. Nice light grain taste which blended with butter well. My steak was very good. They cooked it perfectly to my medium rare specification. The meat had a slight amount of seasoning - very good! The broccoli was slightly crisp and tasty. Someday I will return and expect to find a higher level of a quality and experience. read more

Ate at Eddie Merlot's last nigh and ordered their Scallops and Shrimp dinner. The dish smelled pretty bad, but I didn't want to make a fuss. The seafood had a grayish brown curry sort of sauce over everything, did not look appealing. I had a feeling I shouldn't eat anything because of the foul smell,. I got sick an hour later with diarrhea from their dinner. I would have thought the chef and/or server would have noticed the foul smell of seafood that had spoiled. My guess is that the scallops had gone bad. I will never eat there again! read more

Today I went to a matinee with a group of friends at Jefferson Pointe and we decided to grab a drink and discuss the movie at Eddie Merlot's. I hadn't been in ages and was delighted that we were able to take advantage of their Happy Hour menu. My lovely Paloma Fizz was $5 off and the sliders and Parmesan Truffle fries proved perfect for an early dinner! I haven't been to the Ft. Wayne Eddie Merlots in over a 15 years, during which I ate like a gluttonous teenager and probably ordered a burger and fries. This time, however, I was able to try out the more sophisticated side of their menu and determine if this earns its title as one of the "fanciest" Ft. Wayne restaurants. The interior is classy and clean. My parents absolutely love it but it reminds me of The Cheesecake Factory look. Nevertheless, we were all seated right away for a long Friday lunch. The bar was busy but the dining area was nearly empty. I suppose most of the staff was occupied in the bar area because our service was a bit slow. It took a while to get water refills and our complimentary bread basket. But our server was kind and accommodating and happy to make adjustments if we asked to our meal. For instance, my dad wanted to switch out his soup to the French Onion Soup and she was able to. As for the food, I was impressed, as was my family. The free sourdough bread was incredible and warm and dusted with herby seasoning. I ate way more than I should have! For lunch, my table of four ordered from the prix fixe menu. For my starter, I had a mixed green salad with basalmic dressing. Nothing fancy but it was a healthy starter to a rich meal. My main was an incredible, healthy-ish lemon djion chicken dish that was moist and perfectly charred. For my side, I chose the creamed spinach with bacon. It was too overwhelmingly bacon heavy and a bit too goop-y for my preference. I did not finish it. In my opinion, everyone's main dish was delicious, from the salmon to the steak to the tuna to the chicken, but the sides were all wayyyy too rich and caloric. We felt guilty eating them. Maybe it's our problem, I'm not sure, but I would have loved less carb-loaded options as sides, other than boring ol broccoli. But overall, we had a tasty lunch out for $25 a person. They desperately need more waitstaff but Eddie Merlots makes a great place for a fancy business lunch or a long-awaited reunion spot with your family. read more

Stopped in with my mother on 9-14-2025 6pm. Nice restaurant. Calamari was good. Mom had the Filet Del Mar, she said it was delicious. She had the Creme Brulee, she was in heaven. I had the French onion soup, was good. I had the Ahi Tuna Steak rare on the inside outside seared, it was soooo good. The rice and veggies were a nice compliment. I had the chocolate cake was delicious. We will definitely be trying the location in Indianapolis next. In this day and age finding GOOD restaurants is a challenge nowadays. Full of flavor and a good appetizer to start the evening. We both opted for salads, and the chopped is my all time favorite. Great mix of ingredients that make this a perfect salad. We really wanted a good Thanksgiving dinner. So we made a reservation for Eddie Merlots. We had to wait awhile past our reservation time. Then we had to wait quite a while before someone came to our table. Once we ordered we were served our salads rather quickly. One person ordered the Caesar salad and it tasted terrible. It had no dressing on it. Once we finished our salads we waited almost 30 minutes before we asked where our food was. Apparently they forgot about us. By the time we got our food we were full from waiting. The food was just ok. The stuffing was cold and gross full of big chunks of onion and celery. It didn't have any sage flavor at all. The turkey was a processed version. They crammed everything onto one plate, including the sweet potato casserole. I really expected more from Eddie Merlot's. The server was snarky and asked if we wanted it to go and we said we just want to eat. She was rather rude after that. I don't think the server even considered what it felt like to be forgotten. It's happened to us before and it's terrible. We have been to Eddie Merlot's in Columbus Ohio and it was fantastic. Unfortunately I can't say the same thing about the Fort Wayne location. This was our first experience at this location and it wasn't a good one. I guess our expectations are too high for the way things are today. Very disappointed. read more

This was our first time eating at Eddie Merlot. Granted it was Valentine's day evening and service was very poor and slow....but the food was very disappointing. From the chop salad, to the cold truffle fries, to the steaks. It is not worth the price they charge.
