Was on a solo work trip to Fort Wayne and stumbled upon Dana's on a frigid night. Very happy I did! I sat at the bar and the staff was attentive, kind, and welcoming. Came here at 11pm on a Thursday night to try out their late night menu (all food is 50% off) and was pleased with the experience! Great place for a date night. There were surprisingly a lot of other patrons there, even so late in the evening. In my opinion, the pommes puree, brioche, and sticky toffee pudding were all stand outs. The burger was alright and so were the fries. Would be interested in coming back on a Sunday to try their smash burger. Unfortunately, the cote de bouef was a bit overcooked and undersalted, which wasn't too bad considering we got it half off but I would have been very disappointed if we spent a whopping $130 on it. One of the servers at Mercado recommended this place (for the spicy margarita, ironically) and I've been a fan ever since! To be honest, I've only ever tried the spicy marg (my favorite in all of Fort Wayne) and the scotch egg, and both will knock your socks off. The folks that own Penny Drip also created Dana's. It's the perfect addition to the Landing in downtown Fort Wayne. I visited with a friend and we made a reservation online. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated at a table in the back. There is a large bar, booths across from the bar, and tables in the back. We probably didn't need a reservation for the time and day of the week we showed up (Wednesday), but it did get busier later in the evening, so it ended up being a good idea. The cocktails here are incredible. I ordered a Lakeside Fizz and a Killer in Paradise. Between the two, I preferred the Lakeside Fizz. It was light and perfect on a sunny day. The straws in the cocktails were also stirrers. I just thought it was really neat and hadn't seen anything like that before. I also grabbed some tallow fries to snack on. My friend had the mushroom tart. I'm not a big mushroom person (I blame the 5 years of being a vegetarian and overdoing it on mushrooms then), but she said it was really tasty. For those looking for a more substantial meal there is also a burger and ratatouille on the menu. The brunch menu looks incredible and I'll have to come back for brunch. Let first say that Dana's is not for everyone. You will be disappointed if you are a value dinner looking for volumes of food. Dana's is not geared for children or large groups either. They are focused on craft drinks and small plates. You will be disappointed if you coming looking for a hearty menu of entree choices as well. Dana's is located in the old Columbia Street West building. They are only using a small part of the building for the restaurant. The east side is a small bottle shop that is apart of the ownership group. The back of the building was not purchased. You will find a very familiar feel here to the past. The bar and interior are similar. Beautiful wood, open ceilings and plaster walls. The train is gone in case you were wondering. The facility is very clean and comfortable. Overall the facility only seats about 32 people at table tops. Possibly another 12 or so at the bar. Therefore...you should plan on making a reservation if you want to visit. Because it is small...10 people is about the largest party you will be able to seat. The staff here was great. Ellie was an outstanding waitress. Very friendly and attentive. She was good with the menu and recommendations. We got to meet one of the owners, Preston, who was all smiles and very kind. He filled us in on the changes and how the business works. There was also plenty of table help on hand to take care of you. Craft drinks are one of their specialties. My wife had the Killer in Paradise. She loved the fresh taste and unique flavors. It has a bit of a spicy kick. I tried the Filthy Stickn Dirty. It had a "cheesy" creamy taste - different for a straight up martini. Both drinks came with unique ice cubes. The tall glass had a long rectangle cube that filled the glass. My martini was served in a tumbler with a large block of ice. The ice had a letter "D" carved in the top - very unique. Preston said that the ice cubes come from their side business. In contrast to the large drink menu...the food menu is very narrowly focused. Mostly small plate items with about two traditional entrees. Each small plate varies from $12-19 per dish. You can get a steak for $100+ or a chicken dish for $41. The waitress said that the menu will change depending on the season. However, expect it to be the same for a while since they just opened. The fried olives were very tasty - especially if you love salt! The green olives were deep fried in a crunchy-modestly thick batter. The batter didn't have much seasoning to taste and was slight greasy. The salt flavor really dominates the taste. It was served with a light anchovy sauce. This gave it a bit more of a salty taste without much hint of fish. A very nice dish. The fries were very good as well. They varied from long and crispy to short and crunchy. They were cut down that you had done meat to the fry but not a lot. They had a nice light chili seasoning. This came with three different dips. A chili, aioli and Dijon style dip. Each dip was very light and didn't have a strong taste to over power the fries. The last dish we tried was the burger. Note: they won't ask you how to cook your burger. Everything is medium rare unless you specify otherwise. The burger was cooked perfectly. The meat had a great taste...lean but enough flavor. The sesame seed bun was slightly toasted with a crunch and lightly buttered. The burger came with a smooth white cheese coating and lots of pickles a top. The burger was very good! Again...Dana's isn't for everyone and every occasion. Think small parties, social cocktails and light-small plate dinning. And a little pricey. With that..you will find a unique facility, with lots of great staff and a relaxing experience. read more

The dim atmosphere, the exquisite cocktail list menu and food items (very European inspired) that you can tell the chef puts together in such delicately touch to taste and presentation to every single app /pictured: tall rosemary fries served w a trio sauces/ or entree /the lamb/and mushroom/ we've tried here has been hands down top notch. This is definitely FW finest! In addition to the restaurant, there's a high end bottle liquor store, that sells wine, liquor, and drafts that you can't find @ your average liquor store. Love it! Fort Wayne has a bit of a reputation for rolling up the sidewalks early so having a kitchen open until midnight is cause for celebration all by itself. The food is good and portion sizes are perfect and leave room for drinks and even dessert. It was a little slow late at night mid-week but that meant that I got very attentive service. I had the mushroom tart (made with phyllo dough and vegan Boursin cheese with a hint of toasted sesame) and it was the most deliciously unique dish I have had at a restaurant in a very long time. I also had the ratatouille which is no ordinary ratatouille - sliced thin on a mandolin and twirled in a beautiful colorful array of lightly seasoned goodness. The former C-Street has been given a downtown sophisticated adult Seattle feel of a higher end nostalgic restaurant. Wide selection of $$ craft cocktails. Our First server brought the menu item of the Smash Burger, as is the Sunday special, to our attention! So...be sure you are clear with your order, maybe they should repeat it to the customers! At least clarify that there are two burgers on Sunday and make sure you ordered correctly...that's GOOD customer service. The blonde bartender was loud talking to the other service people telling his loud stories using the f word and didn't seem to care or notice any of the customers dining in the booths right there. ruined the ambiance for us. Our waitress was incredibly rude and short with all of us and basically threw our menus down at the table. She was unfriendly and unhelpful and overall gave a vibe that she didn't want to be there. My wife and I were downtown Saturday afternoon around 1:30 and decided to stop at the landing and have a cocktail or two, as we do on the weekends. We usually frequent the Marquee or Nawa but on that day decided to try out Dana's, because we haven't been there yet and like to try out all of the new finer eating and drinking establishments in downtown Ft. Wayne. When we walked in, there were 6 people sitting at the bar rail and roughly 12 open stools. There was no sign about waiting to be seated, and even if there was, in every place I've ever been, it wouldn't apply to the bar rail. We walked down to a couple empty stools and were in the process of sitting down (and were greeted by one of the 2 bartenders, by the way) when some rude kid, who I'm assuming must have been a host, walked up and told us we were not allowed to sit down at the bar, and that we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes for him to give us permission. We promptly walked out and will probably never come back. We eat and drink as a hobby and don't mind spending good money for good food, drinks, and service. I have never had an experience like that before, and I hope to never again. This isn't LA or NYC. If you want to stay in business in Ft. Wayne, you need to teach your employees some respect. read more
