I took a star off only because I asked for no guacamole on my wrap and they still put it on... still super delicious! My husband's philly sandwich was small... but he said it was the best! We stopped in on an impromptu night out. We got 2 drinks each, mozzarella sticks that weren't all the way done. We were charged extra for ranch which is fine but the server should tell the customer. Then we got the fish and the salmon. I got the butter for the salmon the side and it came out solid so it was hard to use. For the price of their items the food should be a bit better. I was back in town for a conference and had always wanted to try this place while I lived here. I came by late on a Monday night since I hadn't eaten dinner yet, and Henry's has lots to offer on the late-night menu. Perhaps there was a different crowd than on a weekend. It was not very busy, but it was obvious this is a locals bar from the way folks joked with bartenders. Although, there was a couple really drunk gals there and a server asked the bartender to cut them off, in that kind of joking but not joking way. The bartender didn't cut them off. I hope they weren't driving. The bar is beautiful with warm wood and a mirror behind the bar making the place feel bigger that it is, yet still a cozy dive. I ordered a raspberry lemon drop that was too sweet. The BBQ chicken flatbread I had for dinner came out looking like a cheese pizza; however, the BBQ chicken was under all the cheese, which seemed to work flavor wise, but it's a bit rich. Stopped into Henry's for the first on a Sunday night... What a cool place. Henry's has an old school vintage vibe (similar to that of The Pine Club in Dayton, but not as high-end). I ordered fish and it was amazing light breading and delicious tartar sauce. I ordered fries as a side. The whole meal was enough for two people. I was happy to take some home. My friend ordered the pasta dish and he really enjoyed it! Cheesecake topped off the dinner. Yum! Turtle cheesecake did not disappoint! Cindy took for ever to check on us about what we wanted to order. When she did ask what we wanted, she took the drink without taking or order and disappeared again forever. When she came back with my wife's Sprite she again didn't take or order. All this time was enough for me to slowly drink a beer. We left cash on the table and left. Guess it is slow. It took the waitress several minutes to refill our drinks or even clear some of the already used dishes away. For our apprezier, we had the chicken livers. It was a good portion, and comes with a mustard sauce. For my entree, I had the pork tenderloin. The presentation was nice as all the toppings were on the side. (Onions,lettuce, tomato,mayonnaise) The sandwich was pretty tasty. As a side, I had the pasta salad. I tried the Blake's Hard Cider for the first time, and thought it was excellent. I have heard many things about Henrys. Picked up and Dropped off many while driving Uber. My wife and I decided to give them a try. Wife ordered Coconut Shrimp - she wasn't happy that the coating kept falling off. I ordered the Henry Burger and Black Bean Salad. The Burger was very good. The black Bean salad was awesome. AVOID. Masking not enforced here, social distancing isn't happening. I went in yesterday to pick up carry out for the first time in a long time. There were people crowded inside at the front entrance for a seat, same as before COVID. A couple of the people waiting were maskless, not even pretending to sip a beverage. Sign says "6 feet of distancing" is expected, but seated booths were back-to-back, 2 feet apart. Ownership clearly doesn't care. read more

Not impressed. Service was decent. I appreciated that the hostess kept us updated on the status of an upcoming open table. That was considerate. We ordered goat cheese marina which was tasty. I also had been dying to try the fried Pollock. It looked good-large portions, crispy and I could see bits of herbs in the breading. However, it was underwhelming due to a lack of flavor. The wild rice side was also flavorless and overcooked. I was so disappointed, especially with the price being $14.99 (add $2 if you want to sub a salad or soup). I was doubly disappointed to find out they no longer make their own desserts so I would not get to try out the pistachio cheesecake I'd been hoping for. Let's start with the Good. The Tuna sandwich was very good. All though I'm not sure why they picked Wheat sandwich bread, which falls apart when eating this sandwich. The salmon was cook perfectly. My "corn" black bean salad had 4 corn kernels in it. Thank god I like black beans because that's mostly what it was. Atmosphere is nice, dim lighting but cozy and pleasant. Now the bad. I had a coupon from Restaurants.com which clearly states in writing that the coupon which was for $25 off of a purchase if $35 or more. NEVER EXPIRES!!!!!!!!!! The second we sat down and our server said that the coupon I had won't be accepted. So my coupon that never expires, is worth shit. Well that's good to know. Service there has always been bad. I know that when I go there that the service is sub part at best. This visit was exactly the same. Slightly rude, transparently fake kindness, and poorly acted give a shit attitude. Needless to say the food redeems this bar/restaurant. The drinks are over priced the food is kind of expensive, but it is good. If the front of house had half the talent the back of house seems to have maybe I could give them a better review. Trust me, the 2 stars I'm giving this place is for the food only. What can I say about Henry's? It has been my home away from home for about 8 years now. Well, not as much these days, but I still try to make it out a few times a month. When visitors from out of town are looking for a great place to eat or drink, Henry's is a great choice. Most of the people I have brought there rave about the atmosphere and food. A fully stocked bar with knowledgeable barkeeps is never a bad thing either. The wood bars, and spacious booths are just as functional as aesthetic. This is how bars are suppose to look. You are not blinded by neon nor are conversations drowned out by loud music. Unless it is diner time Friday or Saturday night ( a relatively small window of time) one would have little trouble finding a seat. On the weekends, they do something called, "A little taste of Maine on Main." It's a modest but tasty seafood display. Some of the dishes I would suggest are the Black Bean Nachos, Grilled chicken sandwich (teriyaki), the Henry's burger, Shrimp Club Wrap, Chicken Caesar Salad, and the Chili-Mayo. The crowd changes depending on the time of day, but is mostly friendly. Sometimes diner rushes are a bit overwhelming, and service can be a tad slow. But more often than not, this will not be a problem. It's a classic bar, and an irreplaceable part of the downtown Fort Wayne experience. read more

Henry's is one of my favorite places to visit when back in Fort Wayne. Beyond the Brass Rail, there's no better place to get a late night drink...non-chain, classic local spot, great late night menu, good beer list, fair prices, and dark private booths to enjoy a drink with your closest friends/family. I've never experienced poor service at Henry's and it is not a fine dining place anyways (they don't hover over tables, prepared to cater to your every whim). Beyond the well-reviewed burger, Henry's offers great food on top of being a comforting place to drink. On weekend nights, they offer a pop-up cash raw bar with freshly sautéed scallops and raw oysters, pay as you go. Other favorite items: -Black bean nachos, best in the city; spicy black bean puree & fresh tomato salsa; -Baked brie w. maple syrup & walnuts (please bring it back!); -Grilled Southwestern veggie sandwich, with avocado, sprouts, spicy chipotle sauce. -Keoke coffee; alcoholic coffee w. whipped cream & maraschino cherry...uh, yes please. I recommend squeezing into the intimate booths on the bar side near the entrance, so better to people-watch and enjoy the moody atmospherics of the classic wooden bar. Henry's is my after-hours go-to place for food and drink, when most local places close or stop serving food at 9 PM. read more
