Everything here is made from scratch, from the smoky, tender meats to the rich, satisfying sides--and you can taste the difference. Their unique smoking process brings out deep, layered flavors that set them apart from your average BBQ joint. The Big Hungry sandwich lives up to its name, combining brisket, cheese, mayo, pulled pork, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce into one unforgettable bite. It's a messy, meaty masterpiece that showcases the best of what they do. Sides like the creamy Mac N Cheese, hearty Bacon Baked Beans, and the indulgent Loaded Baked Potato Salad are clearly made with the same attention to detail and scratch-made care. Been meaning/wanting to try for a while, but have never got around to it. Ok experience, but there's some areas of attention needed. Pros: Friendly/quick service, outstanding brisket, excellent bbq sauces (I particularly liked the vinegar and spicy sauces), and large portions. Cons: Over-priced, average at best sides, extremely smoky in dining room, and dirty/run down restaurant. Overall our experience was good, but the smoke in the dining room was a real problem that actually had my eyes burning/watering while we were eating (it literally looked like an AARP Club Catholic Church bingo event, it was that smoky inside the restaurant), the food is stupid expensive ($35 lunch, one person), and the sides just weren't good (bland coleslaw and broccoli salad). The restaurant also needs a facelift and desperate deep clean... It had that dirty, grimy, sticky feel on the floors and tables (presumably from all the smoke in the dining room). I still consider Shigs n' Pit to be the far and wide the best BBQ in town, but Lucille's has the potential to be really good if they can make some adjustments, improvements, and clean the place up.

They have a good selection on a front and back laminated menu with various dishes from pizza to ribs, chicken and pork dishes. There are also vegan options such as Mac and cheese. For a barbecue place their prices are very reasonable with a daily special I noticed posted in the wall going into the bar part. My granddaughter used some app they are tied into where you can buy songs to play, that seemed popular with everyone. Our table was clean although I do t like being seated by the kitchen entrance when there were plenty of tables elsewhere to be seated. That's why the 4 star, I don't like the in and out of the staff and congregated talking by everyone by our table. I was concerned seeing an employee scratching at his nose in the hallway coming from the bar to the kitchen not stopping to wash his hands, maybe he did in the kitchen part. The food was good, ranges from sides, aka carte to different size platters with what looked like the entire menu on it! The food smells good, the wing sauce was abundant, dripping and delicious, the fish sandwich was very good. They also have take away which was doing a tremendous business while we were there. Located in a small strip mall there is a lot of parking, also handicapped, and easy access into the restaurant. The food and friendliness of the staff was a great experience.

It's parking lot is easy in-easy out and has a very large facility. Upon entering you order at the counter from a large menu posted on the wall. They will bring you your selections to the table or carry out counter. The Mad Anthony brewery has an attractive looking bar inside as well. The team here was very friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean, orderly and attractive. The menu is fairly large but perhaps difficult to understand since it is posted on the wall. Cost is fair and moderate. Here is a recap of our food choices: -Wings: predominant smokey flavor, fried and dipped in one of 8 sauces. The wing was nicely cooked - no pink insides. The skin of the wing was a bit cripsier than i would prefer. The Alabama White sauce is mayo based, slightly sweet with not much seasoning or spice. It made the wings nicely moist. The teriyaki sauce is bold, thicker and has a slight back end kick to them. -Cole Slaw: nice fresh and crisp larger slaw pieces, thin mayo base, sligtly sweet but a bit watery -Macaroni salad: thin mayo base that actually came off also a little watery, elbow noodles were cooked perfectly, side veggies had a nice crunch to them, sauce was mildly sweet -Chicken tenders: moist and tender, no real Smokey taste detected, seemed to come off a little dry and tough -Corn "spoon" bread: mild corn taste, bread was moist and sweet, nice blend of corn bread and corn casserole -Tomato & Cucumber salad: very fresh and tasty. Cool veggie and vinegar tastes

Mission BBQ (Coliseum Blvd) - another solid BBQ choice in Fort Wayne…read more Mission BBQ is one of the franchise BBQ choices in Fort Wayne in addition to several outstanding local places. Mission can be found on west Coliseum Blvd just west of Olive Garden. It's a little tricky to find drive to get into the large parking lot. There is lots of parking as this large store which accommodates many customers. Seating for large parties together may be difficult here. As you enter you make it to the cash register where you place and pick up your order. The menu is posted on a large board above the front counter. Mission has a large selection (see picture) of different meats and sides. Most items are ala carte unless you get a combo meal. I would suggest that their prices are comparable to those at other local BBQ places. Every entree comes with freshly baked corn bread. The decent size piece is moist and has a slightly sweet flavor. The luke warm bread is more cake like than a traditional corn meal taste. A pat of pre-packaged butter is also provided. This makes a nice complement to the coming meat. Mission provides six different BBQ sauces at the table (see pictures). They also provide vinegar and a more mustard based sauce. I tried three of these sauces. All had a nice flavor for you to consider. Here is a brief description of the different food items we had: -Smoked Chicken: very moist and tender, so tender that the meat literally fell off the bones; skin was nicely coated with a mild BBQ rub - only a slight amount of salt & spicy aftertaste; nice mild Smokey flavoring -Smoked Turkey: also very moist and tender; slight Smokey flavors -French Fries: nice thinly cut fry; coated with a heavy-salty BBQ rub; nicely crispy without being oily; definite bold BBQ rub flavoring -Baked Beans: much like you would expect, moderate sized bean bathed in a smooth BBQ sauce; BBQ sauce is slightly sweet with a mild BBQ taste - no after spice kick; small pieces of brisket added for extra enjoyment; very good side! -Cole Slaw: lite mayo base; two different cabbages plus carrot pieces; sesame seeds added to give it a nice mild-mayo taste Overall...Mission does a nice job of providing freshly made BBQ. The team was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and spacious. This is a challenge for a self seating area that has lots of customers. Here, you felt like you could relax, take your time and pace yourself.

There is no seating. Again, it's a teenie carryout with a drive-up window (not an actual drive-thru). I met the proprietor and his grandson. Both gentlemen were kind and friendly. I explained that I lived in another state and inquired about the menu. I learned that only a limited menu was available, and was offered to try both the turkey tips and the pork rib tips. They were good, but neither were smoked. I like smoked meats on the grill, and these seemed to be marinated in Italian dressing and baked. The meat didn't have a char taste. I decided on the pork with greens and potato salad. Again these items weren't as I am familiar with, as they didn't taste homemade with a depth of flavor. The meal was served with white bread. I would recommend folks giving Mr. Dunbar's cooking a try.

It was my first time trying perch and I don't know if I liked it too much but I feel like it might've been over fried for my liking, it came with hot sauce which helped. Since moving from Champaign, I did not have an opportunity to try any of the Jamaican restaurants yet in town. Since my discovery of Jerk Chicken a few years back, it is an amazing blend of spices and seasoning that is very hard to describe without trying. I was happy to learn that Jerk Chicken was on the menu. Service was prompt and very easy. Food did not take too long to prepare so I was on my way back home. The first thing I noticed is the portions are very generous which is good given the price. It comes with regular or sweet potato fries. In the past I have eaten at a place that always gave you rice and peas along with any of the traditional sides like plantain, mac/cheese albeit a lot smaller. The sweet potato fries were okay but easily get soggy from the condensation of the hot chicken. As I mention the chicken portions were ample which is good, but this is not traditional jerk chicken "at least not the ones I have tried in the Midwest as a disclaimer I have never tried real jerk chicken in Jamaica". I mean to say it was not really spicy or had that kick that I have been accustomed to. It was more on the sweeter side. All and all I give it a 3 star just because of my expectation of jerk chicken, but for people that don't like too spicy and a unique take on chicken it's a solid 4.

The last time we did...ACME had partnered with Legalize Marinara to make pizzas for them. The menu looks like LM's recipes (see picture of menu). The pizza had a familiar taste. Though, the pizza I had was a bit different. Before I get to the pizza...let me say that Joslin did an incredible job serving us. She had great suggestions. She hustled the refills. She was personable and funny. Great representative for ACME!! Also...I had to try the smoked Cole slaw - it intrigued me! The fresh cabbage pieces were large and purple. They tended to be a bit tougher. The mayo sauce had a nice seasoning - possible dry rub. This created some kick and saltiness. The smoke flavor was evident but not overwhelming. Nice dish! We ordered a 16" ACME Deluxe thin crust pizza cut into large square pieces. I didn't know that you could get a thin crust and square pieces - so we tried it. Last time we got a hand tossed - different taste. The pizza crust was fairly thin and a bit crisp - but not crunchy. While the picture might suggest that it was slightly over cooked...it was actually okay. The crust was a fairly plain flour crust - no extra taste. The pizza sauce is really tasty. I liked the thicker consistency and bolder tomato flavor. No spicy after taste. Good Italian seasoning. The sauce did a nice job accenting the toppings. There were plenty of fresh toppings covered with a thinner bed of mozzarella. The meat taste wasn't very prevalent - maybe could have used more meat. Everything seemed to blend well. You do pick up a heavier salt taste. Cold Pizza Test - ACME's pizza was pretty good the next day. The crispier crust stayed crispy without being tough/chewy. The pizza sauce stepped forward - the tomato taste really started to come out. The toppings still blended well. The salty taste seemed to get stronger.

We were greeted by a teenager with a major attitude. She shoved us toward a table and said you will sit here and then disappeared for 30 min. She's probably the niece of the owner or has a connection of some sort that's forcing her to work there because she looked pissed to be there. We did notice the rest of the waitresses were very nice. When we were ordering, my husband wanted the pork tenderloin, and the young lady asked if he wanted the lunch tenderloin (which was smaller) and immediately complained about people yelling at her because they didn't understand the difference between the two and went off. My poor man tried to be nice and said he wanted the larger one. It was so uncomfortable. Anyway, we ordered the fried mushrooms, obviously frozen. Indiana has many small excellent local places with FRESH fried mushrooms. Then followed some supbar smoked wings (although cooked decently) and my husband thought his pork tenderloin was 5/10. It was overall not great. Someone take effort to train your young staff!!! And I have dined at many places in Fort Wayne who have outstanding young staff...
