Having eaten at the Chicago Giordano's many times, this is the first time we've ever tried the Ft Wayne location. Why?!? No clue! We were greeted warmly, asked for a booth and were seated promptly. Ordered beverages and each tried a side salad: one the house w/shaved fennel, the other the starter Italian salad (oh my, both so good!). Loving extra thin crust, we ordered their newer Chicago Tavern Style (different from their tradition thin crust). CRAVE-ABLE! We ordered the Pepperoni Chicago Classic (pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onions) and added sausage and green olives to it. I kid you not, the BEST pizza we've had in this area for a very long time! Their extra thin crust is made on premises (not premade elsewhere as so many do), and comes in 12, 14, and 16 inch sizes. Giradano's (Dupont Road) - first visit after a LONG time away... It's been six years since I frequented Giradano's on Dupont. I love deep dish pizza. Though I'm not a fan of waiting 45+ minutes for it to bake. And, I've not found value in an expensive Giradano's deep pizza. Hence, we haven't been back. However, on this evening, we wanted pizza and a nice outdoor patio. Giradano's has a nice, comfortable, attractive and covered outdoor patio. Relaxing and cool. Nice street view of Dupont road. The facility is large and seats a LOT of people. It's a great place for large groups! The team here hustled and helped each other out. Our waiter Michael did an outstanding job - very friendly, professional and paced the dinner & refills. We started with "The Best" bruschetta. We loved the smooth and creamy mozzarella cheese. You could swear that it was just made fresh. The tomatoes were very fresh tasting. The balsamic sauce was a bit thicker and bolder in taste - very good! The outside of the bread was firm but not crunchy. The inside was soft and easily cut with a fork. This isn't the "best" bruschetta I've ever had. It was very good though! On this visit we went with The Special pizza, 14 inch, with the traditional thin crust for $27.75 - yes, still expensive. And, it took waiter said it would take 45+ minutes to cook - same as a deep dish pizza. The pizza is very attractive looking. Love the rich red pizza sauce look and covering of mozzarella cheese. The crust has a pretty golden brown color and the toppings peak through the cheese! The crust used for the thin crust is the same as the deep dish. I found the crust to taste similar to a biscuit - not my taste. It was firm in texture when cooked but not crispy - liked that! The pizza sauce has a rich and thick red appearance. It is sweet to taste but doesn't come off thick. I found it to be a little bit watery - not my expectation. The watery consistency reduced the tomato and Italian seasoning flavors. The moist sauce somewhat accented the biscuit crust and topping flavors. I just thought it could have been much better if it were thicker in consistency. The green peppers, onions and mushrooms were sautéed. This gives them a bit more flavor and helped them blend with the cheese nicely. The Special pizza has sausage whereas the Chicago Classic has pepperoni. I was really hoping for a spicy and bold sausage flavor. What I got was a very mild meat taste. I was disappointed with the amount of sausage on the pizza as well - especially since it was the only meat. Overall we loved the patio and the relaxing atmosphere. The bruschetta was very good. The sauce was watery and lacked any real flavor, the dough was dense and tasted like plain bread, and the overall pizza just wasn't enjoyable. I kept waiting for that rich, bold flavor everyone talks about with Chicago deep dish, but it never came. When we brought our food home, it was kind of cold... makes me wonder if ordering online is accurate. food was over all good. Pizza was delicious. While planning a trip to Florida recently, I used Instagram to search and find suggestions for different plans. In doing so, an ad for Giordano's in Orlando kept popping up. Made for some intense craving moments. So we intended to eat there. Didn't happen. Then we discovered Ft Wayne has a location. So... we went there June 22. We arrived right at opening time. Eduar seated us and quickly began to serve us. He was very friendly and helpful in suggestions. We ordered the mozzarella triangles for the app. We loved the sound of the bacon bbq chicken pizza but we are not big fans of onion. The menu says no substitutions, so we decided to do a build your own pizza. Bacon, bbq chicken and jalapeños. Eduar advised the build your own would cost more and said they would indeed substitute jalapeños for the onion. Awesome! We ordered the 10" deep dish pizza. He informed us it would take 45 minutes to make. No problem here. Since we were the first and only people to arrive, the restaurant was empty. That allowed us to listen to the great music they had playing over the speakers. The restaurant is clean, and while there, noticed the care they take in making the place a very nice looking environment. Our mozzarella triangles came out first. Piping hot. Now... I think Chili's has won the game with their mozzarella sticks. But these triangles were incredible. The cheese pull was on point and they were gone far before their time. Eduar never let our glasses go empty. He was attentive and kind. A 45 minute wait gives one a lot of time to quench your thirst. He was on top of it even while cleaning and watering plants and... he was everywhere. Yet our service never lacked. Our pizza came out right on time. Massive! Steam was rising from the pizza. To be honest? I have never had a pizza that was so loaded with the toppings we had ordered. Thick! No skimping here. The crust is not your typical pizza dough. I would say it's more of a flaky fruit pie crust type of dough. We dug in. The taste was amazing. The flavors of the cheese, meats, sauce and jalapeños melded together for an incredible eating experience. Just. Couldn't. Get. Enough. That pie didn't stand a chance. I am a Detroit style pizza guy. A truly mouthwatering sandwich! We came into town for a family visit over the Fourth of July weekend and discovered our favorite eats were closed for the holiday. Thankfully, Giordano's was open for both dine in and carry out. We all ordered the Italian Beef sandwich. The bin is light with a fine crust that resulted in a satisfying crunch. The beef was tender and full of flavor and complimented with a light helping of giardiniera. The minestrone soup tasted like it had been made that day and the vegetables were still colorful. I just visited Giordano's a few minutes ago and I was truly disappointed. I have had Giordano's in Chicago just 1.5 years ago and fell in love with it, we decided to try it here in Indiana and I couldn't believe how horrible it was. We started with a Greek salad which was good. However once the pizza came out and we cut into it, we noticed that the crust was very dry, and the bottom crust was super soggy. It had so much liquid in it that it truly didn't even taste like we were eating pizza. The place itself was a newer modern style but the pizza is a 1/10 compared to the Chicago location. First time at Giordano's in FW... We've been to the original brick and mortar in Chicago several times. While thin crust pizza is more our jam, Giordano's is just solid pizza all around. The FW restaurant is relatively new and super nice on the inside (along with a cool outdoor patio). We stopped by on a Sunday night to watch the FB game and it was completely dead (presumably because it was -5 outside and we were some of the only idiots in town to brave the cold weather). We sat in the bar area and the bar tender/server (Eric) was great... Friendly and attentive. Our pizza came out pretty quick in about 35 minutes (usually pizzas take about 45+ minutes, so have a couple of beers and relax). The pizza, as usual was awesome, and so much food... We got a small salad, small deep dish pizza, small tavern-style pizza (Giordano's version of thin crust; not really thin crust though), and 4 local draft beers = $105 w/ tip. That may seem like a lot of $, but we took home half of each pizza (so you essentially get 4 meals, it's that much food). We'll definitely be back, as we were very pleased with FW Giordano's. read more

We ordered takeout from Giordano's recently because our daughter specifically requested dinner from somewhere she could get a Caesar salad. We chose Giordano's since the menu seemed to offer something for everyone. Both my daughter and I ordered side Caesar salads (nearly a $4 upcharge per salad), along with my husband's entrée and calamari with marinara as an appetizer. We chose takeout intentionally so we could grab dinner on the way home, as the roads were icy and there were multiple accidents. When we got home, we discovered that both side Caesar salads and the marinara for the calamari were missing. I called the restaurant to report the error and ask how it could be resolved. Unfortunately, I was given two disappointing options: 1. drive back to pick up the missing items despite the dangerous road conditions, or 2. receive one coupon for one side salad--even though we paid for two salads and both were left out. Given that the mistake was entirely on their end, the lack of accountability and reasonable resolution was frustrating. This experience was very disappointing, and we will not be returning. read more

Spoke to a manager who offered to refund the salads and take an additional "couple bucks off for the missing ingredient" (zero acknowledgement that the pizza wasn't remotely what we ordered). Pizza was ice cold even though the hotel was right across the street. Never again. Also, dude straight up lied to me. Never got the refund back to my card. After arriving in Fort Wayne Indiana from Chicago and waiting at the regional airport for 2 1/2 hours after arrival, my friend and I headed northeast to get an unexpected oil change for his vehicle. Giordano's was basically close by and it was basically an early dinner for me. We thought that the oil change would take 30 minutes, but as it turned out, my friend ordered more stuff added to the bill, so we ended up there for around 2 hours. Luckily for us, Giordano's was the ticket. We arrived here to an almost empty restaurant around 4:30pm on a casual Friday afternoon late April 2024. Some tables were occupied, but the restaurant at large was fairly empty. My friend decided to engage in chit chat with the server that day, which we learned a lot about the Ft Wayne area, especially with the real estate. With that said, my friend and I sat down and spent about 1 1/2 hours here. Giordano's is known world wide for its Chicago Deep dish pizza, so we basically ordered 1 large Special to share. I also ordered lasagna for breakfast the next morning, which ended up pretty good after 2 minutes in the hotel microwave at 5:30am. The service was good and light hearted. Very friendly and professional at the same time. For the most part though, the deep dish pizza was definitely what was needed after flying in from Chicago and into Fort Wayne for the weekend. It's quite wonderful and magnificent. The overall experience here at Giordano's Fort Wayne Indiana was very smooth and nice. Quiet casual to be in here and my friend likes to say that he's from Canada and I am from Hawaii in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which was communicated to the server. It got a few laughs for sure. The restaurant was large enough to fit in about 30-25 people all at once. The deep dish pizza took about 35 minutes to prep and cook, since it's a bonafide deep dish pizza. My friend and I were on vacation, so it was nice just to chill and enjoy traveling for the sake of traveling. My friend also ordered some fried cheese curd square things, which was a delight. I also ordered a bowl of minestrone soup, which ended up good and a counterbalance to all the pizza and things I was eating. Gotta keep it real and somewhat healthy. I think we just had water to drink and they refilled it more than once, which is good. The server checked on us at least 3 times after placing our order, so that was nice. I did enjoy the quiet ambiance of the restaurant, especially on a Friday afternoon. It was nice to be in a part of the city of Ft Wayne that doesn't have crazy rush hour commutes. Giordano's is definitely at a level beyond your typical pizza giants in the USA. The typical deep dish that they claim to do and do it the best doesn't know Giordano's for sure. If you are in the area, consider coming to this Giordano's for a dine in slice, or a large pie to take home. This Giordano Pizza restaurant is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It's physically at 10180 Diebold Road, near the Smoothie King and the Holiday Inn Express. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's a good amount of parking next to the restaurant itself. Come early to secure your prime parking next to the door or somewhere close by. Not sure if Ft Wayne does have local public transportation service to this part of town or any, for that matter. If it does, consider the routes you'd need to come here online. I bet its worth the travel time for sure. During my experience, it was on my mind since leaving Chicago and thought about it on the flight over. If anything, Uber / Lyft can help you get here as well. With that said, while Giordano's is a chain, it's smaller than the ones on top of the industry (Pizza Hut, Domino's, etc). The Deep dish pizza is phenomenal and I urge you to come and get some if you are in the area. There's good options for what you want on your deep dish, but like many pizza places, there's only so much options to put on a pizza. Choose wisely. Maybe next time I'll grab dessert too. Still a good place for anyone and everyone who loves pizza to come here and enjoy. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 3.5 stars for the prices, but 5.0 stars for the ambiance and 4.0 stars for the service. It had been a sometime since I had some good Chicago Style pizza, and one day driving around Fort Wayne, I discovered that there was a Giordano's, I resolved to take my family. We came in one afternoon to eat. The place definitely has the pizzeria style atmosphere... bright red colors and pizzeria style decor everywhere, but tastefully done. Our waiter took us to a booth where we ordered our drinks, sodas, as we perused the menu. When we placed our appetizer order, I got up to use the restroom. Normally I do not bring this up, but have to remark on the cleanliness of the restaurant. It is spotless and the restroom is practically immaculate. I appreciate that. We ended up starting with some buffalo wings. Which were good but i felt were a bit pricey. In retrospect I should have just gotten a larger pizza. Still the wings were good. My mom, though, did get a soup which she thought was very well made. The soup was very hearty with large chunks of chicken in the soup. We then ordered our Chicago style Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza. Omg! It was delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed it! The experience was so good, we came by another day to get some of their frozen pizzas to go in order to have them at home whenever we wanted. Service was not great and the pizza was not good. When we walked in a manager and a waiter made eye contact with us and then proceeded to ignore us while we waited to be seated. No one even said hello or welcome. I would have left if I was on my own but I was with my starving daughter and she wanted spaghetti so we stayed. Giordano's is a friend you didn't know you needed. Very cheesy, but very good. Always ready to go or chop it up inside, loaded with good stuff. It's really a lituation! The location is right next door to the the AMC movie theater. It's easy to access with parking in the lot and on the corner of the building. You can dine in, have it delivered, or choose take out. If you opt for take out you're provided a time slot to make for less congestion. I've had the deep dish and the thin crust. I lean toward the thin crust. Each is equally delicious, but my personal preference leads me to request the thinner crust, it has less sauce which is to my liking. They have a full staff of courteous folks. Restaurant Review Coming from Chicago I can appreciate a good deep dish pizza and Giordano's so far hits the spot. I know many people are complaining of an hour wait, but this is a simple trade-off of eating deep dish. It takes a long time to cook. One secret once the restaurant is no longer so busy is ordering ahead so the pizza is in the oven for your restaurant meal, however, the second option now is ordering for pickup and eating it piping hot in the car. Just remember to bring a plate and utensils so you can cut the pizza into smaller pieces. There is ample cheese and toppings on the pizza which makes it taste sooo good! The crust unfortunately can't compare to Lou Malnati's or Gino's East however I think it is better than the stuffed deep dish pizza at Oley's. Came home from Texas go visit family in Angola and HAD to have pizza. We didn't eat at the restaurant as my sister picked up a carry out and brought home to eat. Pizza was perfection as always.
