I went out of town for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. We had one of the best meals I had in a while. Everything was amazing. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I have wanted to try grilled oysters and they were delicious. We had pasta with shrimp and streak. I was not asked how I liked my streak cooked or what salad dressing I wanted. That was my only negative. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib and again 10/10. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone because they have a diverse menu.

One perfect spot for a great dinner with friends or your significant other. The ambience and atmosphere is great. The hostess and servers are always friendly and welcoming. Our server Matty made our visit very delightful. Always making sure we were having a good time. Drinks were served promptly. I had a Ribeye with a wedge salad which were delicious. Then we ordered a lemon blueberry pie which was delicious. As always we had a great time with a couple of friends! Thank you BCR and Matty!

I debating on making this review for awhile, cause it's going to be harsh, but here we go. The food is not great. Most of the time it's just average. For the prices, I expected this place to be much better. Cherry Old Fashion - Husband loved this and ordered two of them. 5/5 stars. Clam Chowder - $4 Cup and $6 Bowl - It's ok. It didn't have a whole lot of seafood or taste. It's very bland. 2/5 stars. New Orleans Gumbo - $4 Cup and $6 Bowl - I expected to get a punch of flavor, and it was just as bland as the clam chowder. Holy disappointment. 2/5 stars. Ribeye Steak with Rice Pilaf and Black Beans - Market Price but it cost us $45 - The ribeye steak wasn't good at all. It ate dry and the flavor wasn't there. I loved the attempt at rice pilaf and black beans, cause I haven't seen that on a menu before, but it wasn't executed well. The components were just okay, but I felt like I could get this at a cheap diner and the quality would be the same. 2/5 stars. New York Strip with Fries - Market Price but it cost us $50 - I found it interesting that a New York Strip cost $5 more than a ribeye, and I figured out why, cause it tasted better than my ribeye. Granted, I still thought it wasn't that fantastic, but it was better than mine. Fries were good. 3/5 stars. Lobster Mac and Cheese - $18 - This is by far the best thing at the restaurant. This saved the review from being 2 stars and changed it to 3. The mac and cheese was good, the lobster was good, everything about this dish was tasty. This is a must get. 5/5 stars. The service was ok. She was supposed to check with the chef about my mustard allergy for one of the dishes, but didn't remember, and I switched to a steak anyways to be cautious. Ambiance is nice for a date night. It's very mood lighting and romantic. If you're going to try this place out, here are my recommendations. If you want soup, get a small cup. You'll probably be disappointed. Maybe try an appetizer instead. Skip the steaks. Get the lobster mac and cheese.

Order a ribeye said it was market price okay so 14oz not even a full pound steak cost 55 bucks wtf ridiculous and it taste was like eating woodchips didn't even eat it all left half took home a fed to the dog go to Sam's today and 2 Rib eye prime select was 53 bucks for 2.23lbs 22.30 a lb market price i will never return absolutely ridiculous definitely feel scammed

My friends took me here while I was in town. Super good food and service. Our server(s) were amazing. They had switch about half way through our meal. The food was absolutely delicious. Worth the wait when we arrived. We got the bang bang shrimp. I love that the breading stayed crispy. I do wish the sauce was a bit more spicy, but the flavor was good overall. I ordered the lobster Mac & Cheese as my entree. It's a huge portion. And it's very creamy and delicious. It has a good amount of lobster. I'd personally like more breadcrumbs but overall I'd recommend it and order it again when I come to visit. My friend got the prime dip and the meat is so tender and juicy. It melts in your mouth. His wife got the filet and shrimp Cajun pasta, it was good. My only thing is that the shrimp come with the tails on so you have to remove those. They have a good menu of drinks and seasonal options as well. I would definitely recommend.

My first visit to Black Canyon was amazing! I had an 8oz medium-rare filet mignon with a loaded baked potato and salad pure deliciousness. The dessert portions were huge and so good!

Friendly staff, busy but not overwhelming. Even with how busy they were the food came out fairly quickly. It's not loud or hectic sounding, the decor was nice. The prime rib sandwich was delicious, the sauce seemed a little flat (under salted) but that could be just my preference.

This restaurant was very busy on a Saturday around 430. I was a little disappointed in their beer/cider selection. I think the food was good but overpriced for what it was. I wanted the short rib stroganoff but they had already sold out of it. I opted for the Brussel and berry salad as a fallback. The apple cider vinegar dressing was very watery, I wish it was a bit thicker. There were a good amount of berries and nuts on it and the chicken was cooked well. We also got spinach and artichoke dip for the table and that was good. The service was spotty as they were very busy. The waitress did not have many recommendation's or substitutions options.

I've have been going to black canyon for several years now. The food here is pretty good, I would say average for a more upscale restaurant. They offer a mixed dining experience with a blend of noteworthy and average elements. The upscale ambiance sets the stage for a sophisticated meal. The menu features standout dishes, such as their prime rib sandwich and large salads, which impresses with succulent flavors. However, not all options reach the same culinary heights; some dishes fall into the realm of merely okay - like the French onion soup and burger. I also wish they never would've gotten rid of the scotch eggs. The recent sluggish service the past few visits is a noticeable downside, detracting from the overall dining experience. While the staff is polite, the delayed service may test your patience. Despite this, the restaurant's upscale atmosphere and standout dishes make it worth considering for those seeking a refined culinary experience, albeit with occasional hiccups in service efficiency. Overall, a good pick on the north end of Ft Wayne and a regular place for a good meal.

First time at BC... We've been by it a bunch since moving to FW and wanted to give it a try. All-in-all, good but not exceptional. While the food was very good, the service was "meh" (at best) which torpedoed the overall experience. We stopped in at 11:30 for lunch on a Friday... They weren't overly busy, but steady. We weren't really greeted by the hostesses (kind of weird), but we were sat immediately at a nice booth. The inside of BC is cool and very "country modern" (hence the name); they also have a really nice outdoor seating area with a fire place. Our server was pleasant, but not really friendly... Kind of had the quintessential "RBF look", didn't introduce herself, looked annoyed/disinterested (maybe she was just having a bad day), and not attentive - I would have expected more from a restaurant on the higher end of the FW food spectrum. Aside from the service, our food was solid though... The burger itself was excellent (although we weren't big fans of the brioche bun they used) and my home supervisor's prime rib sandwich was also very good. The one annoying part about the food was we couldn't substitute the fries for a salad or different vegetable side... We had to add a salad to the order vs. being able to substitute (I don't know why restaurants do that?). Nonetheless , BC was alright... Fairly priced for the food quality, but the service was subpar - We probably won't go back, as we very much prefer Baker Street and their service is always superior.

I have upgraded my previous review to 5 stars. Why? Great food! This time I had the Barbecue Chicken with wokked vegetables and fries. Martini Monday! Paloma is my favorite. Waitress Kiersten was phenomenal. Keep it up, BC :)

There are some non breakfast items...but not many. My wife had the breakfast tacos. She really liked the egg and bacon mixture. The sour cream and salsa sauces blended the tastes nicely. The Cobb salad was very fresh and tasty. There were lots of side ingredients such as egg, avocado, bacon, blue cheese, tomato and cucumber. The grilled chicken was plentiful and moist. Just enough grilled and seasoned taste to blend right in with the ingredients. The home made honey mustard dressing was consistent with what you would expect from honey mustard.

Spoke + Ivy (west Main Street, FW) - another locally unique dinning experience that deserves a try…read more Spoke + Ivy is located on west Main Street - across the parking lot from Redwood Inn restaurant, if that helps. This restaurant is set in an old building that used to house a pharmacy. It retains the character of the building via the hardwood interiors, tall ceilings, large window views of the street and concrete/industrial ceilings. The interior is nicely decorated with inviting green, brown wood and black accent colors. Table settings were very attractive as well. You can park in the small side lot or on the street. Reservations are easily made on line. The team is very friendly and welcoming. All set the stage for a fun and relaxing dinner experience. Spoke + Ivy has a very small food and specialty cocktail menu. This is the second time we have been here. Each time we found the food to be delicious and the cocktails are uniquely designed. Here is a run down on the food items we ordered: -Focaccia Bread: a mildly sweet, dense/firm bread, slightly airy with a touch of herbs to accent. It is cut into blocks so it is easier to share. The vodka sauce is thin in consistency with a smooth Italian seasoned tomato appeal. Both make for a deliciously simple starter. -Lobster Roll Rangoon: decided to give this a try. It comes out as one large Rangoon - not individual pieces. This means that you must awkwardly cut this shareable into pieces. The slightly crispy & oily wrapper is similar to most crab Rangoon pieces. It has a nice crisp. The inside has shredded pieces of lobster. It was not filled with creme cheese sauce like traditional rangoons - just plain. The green lemon parsley sauce was simply outstanding! It's very fresh, moderately thick and has a slightly tart taste. This added "the sauce" to what the inside of the Rangoon was lacking. -Milanese: nicely breaded chicken that was very moist. The breading is slightly sweet. The fresh bed of arugula salad is a nice add -Prime Rib Pho: this sounded really interesting. It's a smaller/healthier dish. The medium rare prime rib was sliced thin and tender. There wasn't many pieces of prime rib in this dish. The add-ins were fresh and much like you would expect from a Pho dish - just not as much volume. The broth has a chili oil base that gives it a spicier flavor. Overall we really enjoy this relaxed atmosphere and character of the building. The delicious food and cocktails are excellent.

I guess I'll skip to the end when I got my check, and was completely shocked to learn that I had a fantastic meal and an excellently made spritz, plus dessert, for a shockingly low price. I even double-checked the check, to make sure they didn't accidentally leave something off. No! How could it be? It turns out that I was visiting Rune during happy hour, which is Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. This could be why my bill was so agreeable. So, if you're looking for a great meal for a great price, visit during happy hour. So, the spritz. Literally every table ordered the spritz while I was there, including me. It was a great choice, and it looked especially pretty and ombre in a glass with ice. Like any good spritz, it had just enough alcohol to make things sparkle a little, but was also refreshing and hydrating. I made a note in my phone to remember that the bartender used words like "vegetal" and "herbaceous" when talking about some of the cocktails to the people sitting at the bar. I love a good vegetal, herbaceous drink, and it made me want to order another cocktail. Instead, I ordered the green spaghetti from the happy hour menu, which is a paired down menu, but has a lot of the items from the regular menu. The spaghetti was bright green from a pesto made from ramps, nori butter and parmesan, and there were also bits of clams throughout. It was rich and buttery! Ramps are one of those things that I have to get when I see them on a menu during the spring. They're only around for a short time, so they're precious. For dessert, I went with the pot de creme, which was flavored with pho spices (cinnamon, anise, coriander, cardamom, fennel, etc.) and had peanuts and chocolate on the bottom. Holy fudgy bottom! This was the smoothest, most balanced dessert I've eaten in a long time. Smooth, but with the occasional peanut here and there to make things interesting. The service was excellent. I was dining by myself, so I got seated at a cozy little table, lit with a candle, that was off to the side but also in the center of everything, so I could people watch, which is one of my favorite things to do. I wanted for nothing the entire time, but was also left the eff alone. It was perfect. It was one of the best dining experiences I've had that I can remember.

So...you might have to wait for a table. Unfortunately there isn't space for a nice waiting area. So you might stand up in the small bar area while you wait. It's okay. Things move fast. Enjoy the people watching opportunity. The team here is very friendly and welcoming in an odd way. They really are glad to serve you. Lots of smiles and friendly smiles. They are efficiently-friendly. They all move and talk fast. They are hustling to serve - not avoid. They will take a moment to get to relate...but not much more than a moment. The service is very good! The Sullivan family is very nice as well. Laycoff's is known for sausage rolls and a community bar environment. My wife loves her sausage roll. Full of tasty cheese surrounded by a light, fluffy and soft dough. The American sausage blended in with the cheese nicely. The menu has a small number of specialty pizzas (only six) along with build-your-own option. The prices are pretty comparable to other bars. On this occasion I got a 16" Everything pizza for $20. A 16 inch pizza was a LOT of delicious pizza. The pizza crust is thin. It is thin enough that almost every bit has a slight crunch. However, it was also soft enough to satisfy the less than crunchy crowd. The crust doesn't have much distinct flavor or seasoning. Just a nice thin crust. The pizza sauce was also hard to distinguish. The pizza is so full of toppings and cheese that you really don't see the sauce. The sauce that was they are blended well with the American sausage base. Now the best part - the fresh toppings! Laycoff's uses the Pizza King approach by using finely chopped toppings. The base of the Everything pizza is a finely ground American sausage. The base of the pizza so completely covered with sausage on the Everything choice. The sausage doesn't have much spice or flair as it is American style instead of Italian. The pepperoni is very thin. The fresh and slightly crunchy onions and peppers are chopped into small pieces. Even the green and black olives seemed to be smaller. The whole pizza was coated in delicious tasting mozzarella cheese. As I mentioned the 16 inch pizza is a large pizza. Laycoff's cuts the pizza into large pieces as well. This pizza could easily feed 3-4 people. Cold Pizza Test - I always want to try the pizza the next morning, cold, and for breakfast. This pizza was outstanding cold and as a left over. The coldness causes the mozzarella cheese taste to really come forward. The saltiness of the olives gets bolder. The bed of sausage and cover of cheese really help keep the pizza moist. The crust stayed a bit soft with a slight crunch. Overall, I really liked the pizza. It wasn't outstanding. However, it was really good at a good value. Dinning at Laycoff's has a sense of memorabilia and nostalgia. Be patient and enjoy the environment.

All of the signage and decor had thick layers of dust. We also had an extremely long weight. I almost wish we would've just left.
