When in Fort Wayne this is my go to place. The food is delicious and the vibe is pleasant.

One of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. Lacey, who was working the night shift and is also a team lead, was beyond unwelcoming and disrespectful. After spending over $100, not including the tip, I expected much better service. She wouldn't even look at me when I was speaking to her and created an unwelcoming, hostile environment from start to finish. Given her leadership role, I found this especially disappointing because team leads help set the standard for customer service. I do not recommend this place. If you're looking for great service and good food, I'd recommend going to The Deck instead. read more

We were blessed to be at the Friendly Fox's wine dinner last week. Each delicious course was paired with a tasting of wine. While we love FF, we had never attended one of their monthly (in season) wine dinners. This dinner surpassed our expectations, which were pretty high already! The service was warm, welcoming, friendly but not intrusive. Their natural casual ambience was enhanced by white linens, fresh flowers, and candles at the tables. The food...oh the food! Fabulous (see pics)! Next wine dinners will likely resume in the fall. It's a small restaurant so only the lucky ones who reserve in time get in! Popped into this lovely cafe for a quick late lunch on a workday. The Friendly Fox has a comfortable, local feel with an open, airy dining room. First this place is super cute and we loved the decor especially the hanging plants. the coffee menu had some excellent choices so we tried both an iced and hot. The toffee crunch coffee was really good not overly sweet and well made. The iced Honey Bunny Latte was good but less successful as it had chunks in it my guess is honey that didn't mix in since it was iced but flavor was still pretty good. For breakfast we got avocado toast and biscuits with gravy with potatoes and side of scrambled egg. Both meals were simple but really the biggest issue was lack of seasoning. The potatoes didn't even have salt or pepper on them. The sausage gravy tasted mostly of yhe roux and the avocado toast was literally avocado, a piece of toast and an over hard egg. The biscuits were good (and very clearly tasted like they were made with bisquick) but there wasn't enough sausage gravy on the plate. Service was friendly but standoffish. I asked for a mocha iced coffee and it tasted like bitter dog shit. My wife's drink was lemonade and tasted like straight water with a little lemon juice in it they charged us $5 per drink that was served in a mason jar. The service was absolutely horrible all because we didn't want to order food. Sorry we thought it was safe to just order a drink at a coffee shop for a meeting. $11 for a fucking grilled cheese is so outrageous get a grip. read more

We stopped into the Friendly Fox for a quick breakfast/brunch before attending the 2023 Johnny Appleseed Festival in Fort Wayne, and we couldn't have been more impressed with this place. The food was spectacular. I had a breakfast skillet and my wife had quiche, and everything was wonderful, including the coffee. After finishing, we asked for dessert and were told we could have brownies because all the other deserts were for tomorrow. Every table around us had dessert. What a cute neighborhood cafe! We came here for lunch and weren't disappointed. Service was quick and easy. I ordered the Lemon Scallion salad and substituted hummus for the chicken. My husband had the Italian sandwich, and the bread was super soft. Our friend had the California wrap, which looked really fresh. It was 90 degrees, so we ate inside instead of on the covered patio. Other than that, the atmosphere and service were excellent. We were greeted right away, and the staff were friendly and helpful the entire time! It smelled so good as soon as we walked in! I was happy that they had some keto options with salad and humus on their menu! The kale and sausage soup portion was rather small for a man but was delicious. The Friendly Fox is the perfect sandwich and salad spot for a leisurely lunch! This is the first time I'd visited 'The Fox' for a meal. The coffee and open space has always been great for a working afternoon on my laptop, but this time I came for lunch on a Saturday and was happy with the result! I ordered a wine spritzer to drink which was the perfect starter for Saturday afternoon; it was fresh and fruity but not too sweet. The Cuban sandwich I ordered hit the spot as well. It was jam packed with meat, and carried a savory zip from pickled onions, jalapeño, and mustard. The bread was pressed crisp--perfectly surrounding the flavorful fillings. So good and fresh! And they make several of their ice creams. I just got a basic Buffalo Chicken wrap and it was very good. The chicken was good and just the right amount of the lettuce, cheese and chicken. It was nice to sit outside and the side street they are on his quiet and not loud with lots of cars. I wanted to like this place... it was a quaint little cafe with very nice people but the food was sub par and the prices were out of proportion to what you received. We were passing through on our way to pick something up in the area and looked for an on-the-go option in quaratine. I ordered the turkey panini and my fiance ordered the italian sandwich with chorizo, I forgot the same. Both were meh... I can make a better turkey sandwich at home and not spend $18. They upcharged for side changes - so to go from a bag of chips to 5 peoples of cantalope, I was charged $2+ dollars and my fiance got the qunioa salad which he really liked, though I wasn't impressed. He also ordered a side of brisket which was alright and it was a good portion for the price. But by the time we got the sides we wanted (because who wants a plain bag of potato chips when you order from a cafe with fresh baked food...) and tax/fees, it was $36 for lunch. We met up here for brunch with some family in the area on a Sunday afternoon. We were specifically looking for somewhere dog-friendly since we were traveling with our four-legged one, so it was nice that we were able to have a spot out of the patio. The coffee drinks were decent, but food was definitely mediocre and had small portions. I get that dogs are allowed, but it would have been nice if they had water bowls out or a little more spce between tables. Fortunately our dog was small - I think a larger dog would be cramped. My husband ordered the bacon jam sandwich. There was almost no jam on the sandwich and it was very small. The English muffin was quite dry too. It was just a sandwich so it would have been nice if it included fruit or something. I ordered the southwest breakfast scramble. Mine was definitely better, with a good amount of delicious chorizo in it. It came with potatoes, which was a bit of a surprise since it did not indicate that on the menu. Our coffee drinks were decently tasty. Service was very slow, although I recognize they were decently busy. I am not sure if this was because we were on the patio or service was slow for everyone. Im so happy to finally have made it inside. Every time I visit, something prohibits me and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The signage above the shop outside and the corner entrance makes it feel inviting. We were immediately greeted and chose a table by the window. Our server was very professional and friendly, knowledgeable without being pushy. Even though it was 90 outside, but husband preferred a yummy chai concoction that they created for him and I ordered the lavender tea. I love a good salad and I honestly could have eaten any of them. Served on a long plate, it's bigger than it looks. I could feel my husband's sideways glance when we were offered dessert, so we shared the carrot cake and salted caramel ice cream and the BlackBerry key lime ice cream. Whew! The carrot cake is a go-to when i see it. The cream cheese icing with walnut "crust" put me over the edge. It's not overly sweet, but still very rich and satisfying. The Key lime is light and just enough tart that you can enjoy the true flavor. The game changer was the Graham tucked inside the berries. We definitely over indulged, but that's what the gym is for, right? The exterior has a bike rack and generous seating under a pergola. I have heard good things about the Friendly Fox. I went there this weekend and had breakfast. I ordered a chocolate frappuccino. It was a decent size, and served with whip cream. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy. ( You can order half or full order) Full order is just two biscuits, and it came with potatoes. Overall, I think it was good. I like the atmosphere and the great location, right in a neighborhood. I noticed another customer come in with his dog. Food was decent but the fox wasn't so friendly The server(s) started putting up tables and chairs 40 minutes before close and acted like we were inconveniencing them just by being there. Shortly after, our server came over and took our plates without even asking (while there was still food on them). From brunch like items to sweets and ice cream, the Friendly Fox offers a unique experience with great service. Local custom art work are one of the first things you see in this coffee shop. The display of local work says a lot about the kind of business this shop is. Supporting the local arts is an important part of the diversity of our country. With so much talent artist need every avenue to get their work out there. Local is always the way to go and The Friendly Fox hits that mission without failure. I can't wait for my next visit. We were passing through town, so I searched Yelp for a tasty lunch destination. Wow. What a delightful and delicious stop! The environment is cozy and cute. There are two indoor seating rooms, but they also have a dog-friendly patio. That's where we dined since our Husky was with us. It was cold, but we grabbed a couple blankets for our laps and ordered some hot chocolates and coffees, and we made it work for the sake of our furry girl. The staff was wonderful!! Not only did they take exceptionally good care of us, they were also lovely with our dog! They brought her a water dish, and they told us about doggy treats on their menu. It seems dogs aren't just tolerated, but they are cared for! I loved this! Back to the people, we all ordered sandwiches. We tried the special (turkey on wheat with veggies and pepper jam), the Gorgonzola brisket, Italian panini, and grilled cheese. I also had a cup of tomato soup. Everything was wonderful, but if we had to choose, we all agreed that the Gorgonzola brisket won the meal. Soooo good. They served our hot drinks in adorable mugs, and the hot chocolate was definitely a notch above average. If I lived closer, I would be a frequent flier! So much more to try!
