A friend and I decided to try this restaurant for the first time and were pleasantly surprised! The building and inside are older, but everything was very clean. The staff was friendly and the food was really good! I had a Chicken Fajita Skillet with French toast on the side, both delicious, and my friend loved the biscuits and gravy. My omelet with cheese was overcooked, call it crusty and the bacon was very chewy. The rest of our meals were perfect. The restaurant is very tired, especially the women's bathroom with its heaving floor that I tripped on and a very weird overpowering smell in it that was sickening. When I have visited this place I see the same small town customers in there, everyone so friendly to each other. The waitress we had calls her regulars by name and chit chats with them like old friends. The fruit is fresh slices of orange, melon and 1-2 banana are not canned and are fresh. The pancakes were textured nicely and had good flavor. There are too many signs and stuff, reminds one of hoarders, by the doors making entry hard to do without maneuvering oneself between stuff and other customers standing waiting to either pay or be seated. I noticed a lot of roof shingles were missing from the building when we drove off. I have never had a dirty table or poor service in there and frequent this every few months. Standard American casual diner-type restaurant. Ample parking. Arrived at 11a on a Saturday and seated right away at the only available booth. Very large breakfast menu with very large portions. My husband and I both finished about 2/3 of our skillets. Our friend got a single egg breakfast (scrambled) and it must have been the largest egg ever! Appreciated the waitress letting us know it is fresh-squeezed pulpy OJ. Coffee stayed refilled. Service was efficient and cordial but not overly friendly. I have eaten here a hand full of times. My last visit being yesterday, and it will truly be my last visit. To start off, I waited 20 minutes for a cup of decaf coffee. I was told there wasn't any brewed at the time I was seated. I have worked in restaurants in the past and we always had decaf coffee brewed for those who can't drink caffeine. When I finally received my order, my eggs were freezing cold, not warm, literally COLD. We were a party of 5 and by the time the food came, two of us did not have silverware so they had to sit and wait with food in front of them before they could eat. Out party asked for hot sauce. I don't know what she brought to the table but it was not hot sauce. The ambiance was what was to be expected for being busy, but not overly loud. Cold food, lax service and an okay ambiance = no tip, as these are the three things I base my tips on. Do better!! read more

This place used to be my go to for breakfast, however they don't have the same cook anymore. Omelettes are overcooked with dark brown areas. Eating out has gotten expensive and when you get overcooked food it's disappointing. I agree with others about the bathrooms. Both need renovations. read more

Once sat it took a while for food to come out- which isn't really an issue as I said the place was packed, but when it came the food was lukewarm and lacking in flavor. I enjoy going here whenever I'm feeling like getting a nice simple but filling breakfast. There are a few fun options that you won't easily find at other locations. Prices are decent and affordable. The staff are really wonderful as well I've only had a poor experience service wise once and I feel it was just a bad day for her she probably isn't always like that so I don't mind. This food was amazing. The staff were great. And for going in at noon on a Sunday we only had a 15 minute wait despite them being absolutely slammed. The service we received was phenomenal! I haven't received that type of kindness and service in A LONG TIME!! The food was also fantastic, with generous portions. We had omelettes and pancakes. Additionally, I accidentally left my purse. Kaylan went above and beyond to call Walgreens, explain the situation, and get my cell phone number. The staff stayed after hours to wait for my husband to get there and pick it up. While not much, we tipped $40 on top of our already 30% tip for the honesty and courtesy. A pretty great dive! I loved the diversity and different things they offer rather than just eggs and bacon. It was a bit pricey for a breakfast dive. There were 3 of us and it was about $38. We came up for the ACD festival. We like trying small mom and pop diners. Bluebird Resturant is what your looking for. Lots of parking but it was full. That is always a good sign. The food was excellent. The portions are large and plated pretty. I had fried eggs and hash browns, wife had omelet and nothing was greasy. Our waitress was friendly and attentive but did not Hoover. This was a neat little place near the airport in Fort Wayne. I had to drop my mom off really early in the morning, so I decided to stop by this place before I went to work. The waitress was really nice, and the food was good. You get amazing bang for your buck here. The portion sizes are ridiculous. I mean, look at the size of that omelette!
