This was our first visit and defiantly won't be the last! The atmosphere was perfect for our date. I enjoy wine but not good in describing what I like , however our server Tyler was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with our drink selections. He nailed the wine selection just by talking to us and getting to know us a little better. Almost a 5 star but when arriving and waiting for our table the hostess could have been more attentive and less on the cell phone while eating chips in front of customers. Especially for new customers a suggestion to a drink at the bar or a menu to look over would have been nice. read more

This is my go to every time I'm in Fort Wayne! The staff, the atmosphere and the food; they are spot on! The menu changes slightly per the season, always delightful and on point! I hope yoy enjoy as much as I do! read more

I sat at the bar and Sage took great care of me. I'm from out of town and she made me feel like a regular. The drink list is huge, Sage will help you and she has great knowledge. The food menu is small but hits all the spots, seafood, steak, pork, chicken, and tofu. The first time here I had the burger and it was big and messy perfect! Second time oysters stew was a special and it was perfect. The diver scallops were cooked perfectly but a bit too much salt for me, and not enough of the delicious polenta the strawberry dessert was a nice finish to end the evening. read more

The atmosphere here is outstanding. Great amenities and some of the best staff I have ever experienced!

Incredible bar, staff, and food. Parking wasn't the easiest but you won't be disappointed.

I will start with saying that the steak and smutty fries were very good. Unfortunately it ended there. The Mac and cheese was like glue on noodles. The vegetable, which we had to order separately and pay a small fortune for, were very salty. The drinks were mostly ice. The Bill at the end, for one person, was more than we would pay for our whole family to eat anywhere else we have been. Not a place we will go to again. read more

This is the best place to go in downtown Fort Wayne if you are looking for good food and drinks with a nice vibe! I love the tapas style plates for everyone to share. The charcuterie board was phenomenal. The drinks are amazing and the staff is exceptionally nice. We had Jerry Williams as our server the last couple times we've been in there to eat and I don't have enough good things to say about this man. He is a hoot and made our time there very enjoyable. I also enjoyed how personable the owner was. He took the time to come over and introduce himself and share his inspiration behind the restaurant. I definitely recommend this place!! read more

Service was exceptional; our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended drinks, which we loved. We had the pimento cheese and mussels for appetizers...both SO good! The coconut curry, scallops and pork belly were amazing as entrees. Snickerdoodle cheesecake for dessert; another terrific dish! We love the non traditional food options; AMAZING flavors in everything we got. The food was unique and the portions were perfect. Outstanding food and service; we can't wait to go back! Thank you! read more

Best tapas and wine in town. WORTH A TRY!

Been here a few times, good is a little pricey but very good. Great selection of wines and spirits

Food was delicious and cocktails were top notch. Great bourbon, whiskey, and scotch selections.

We were really looking forward to eating here as reviews seemed positive...but we were very disappointed in food, presentation and service! I feel (coming from Chicago area) this place is way over priced for the quality and presentation. Drinks...couldn't believe they charged extra to make a Martini a dirty martini!!! Seriously! And never saw a drink...martini (up) an Old Fashioned (up) served in a glass that pretty much looked like a snifter on a stem!!! @14.00 that was ridiculous! Also...could not even get a glass of good Chardonnay....had to buy a bottle which is ridiculous if you are the only wine drinker at the table!! Presentation of food was terrible...I will say the appetizers were great! (No serving utensils were provided) charged us extra...for some thinly sliced banquettes for the one appetizer which initially came with not even enough to go around the table!! I know we won't be returning...will be looking for another fine dining restaurant! Spoiled by Chicago style and taste I guess...but c'mon Copper Spoon...really? Oh...and please remove the reviews on your pork chop...you don't even serve that anymore!!! read more

This is a unique place with a great selection of wines ... interior is very beautiful and cozy .. A must visit if you happen to be in fort Wayne downtown . read more

We had amazing experience here. Delicious food, solicitous service, phenomenal cocktails. 100% recommended!

Great food and service and loved the atmosphere. Definitely will be back when visiting Fort Wayne.

This is my first review I've ever written. What brought me out of the woodwork here unfortunately is to complain because I freaking love copper spoon and I'm so disappointed in the wait staff/ hostess. Several times they have been rude or simply unprofessional for the caliber of this restaurant/bar. I've given them the benefit of doubt given covid fiasco, but now I'm refusing to go there until I can sit at the bar because the bartenders are excellent! Please address the attitudes of the staff because all I felt was that I was an annoyance and that simply should never happen. I shouldn't feel afraid to tell the wait staff they got my drink wrong. They should not act like I insulted their mother. There's a way to do things, I'm not an unreasonable guest. I just want to go to my favorite place spend some money and it feel like a treat. I hear JK O'Donnell is on par with what I want to experience, like I said until the bar is open I won't be back. Unless I hear something different about the wait staff behavior. read more

Very long wait for drinks and then they Drinks were very weak. Staff seemed overwhelmed at times.

Incredible wine and spirit selection. Food was amazing. Bartenders are excellent and very knowledgeable. Absolutely recommend.

Pricey but very nice atmosphere with an original menu and drinks. Atmosphere is well above par, a much needed downtown option.

The service is excellent (sit at the bar and chat with the exceptional bartenders), the food is imaginative and always delicious. Atmosphere is engaging and subtly romantic. read more

I was in town for a mixed business/family trip, and wine down blew my mind. I felt like I was in a Manhattan wine lounge, until I got the check -- then I was pleasantly reminded that I had indeed landed in the salt of the earth Midwest! For food, highlights for me were the old world board and the buffalo balls. For drinks, I'm more of a cocktail man than a wine man, and this place has a Sazerac that brought me right back down the Mississippi to my old haunts in New Orleans. What a find! read more

The setting at Wine Down is perfect for a quick drink, a casual night out, or a special occasion! You don't have to be dressed up to walk in and enjoy. Plus, Wine Down not only has these easy to use & super fun wine dispensers that allow you to sample a variety of vino, but their cocktails are also top notch. The bartenders are friendly yet professional, which makes for a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. They were full of helpful recommendations and surprising fun facts about the drink ingredients. The cocktail menu changes seasonally and is always filled with an enticing new flavor combo. Sweet, sour, a little heat, a little bitters--you crave it, they've got it. Definitely the place to be! read more

I've been to Wine Down Tastings & Tapas several times now and each time I have had a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is friendly and will take the time to explain the menu, the wine selection, and the craft cocktail choices and are able to make several very good recommendations. My favorite has been to grab a wine card and spend some time sampling the WIDE variety of wine choices from their machines. It's a great way to experience a variety of regions and fruits. This is how I found one of my new favorite red blends! I cannot say enough about the tapas either. The Old World Board is a favorite...a great way to sample a selection of nice cheeses, meats and not to mention the olive tapenade! Yumm! And if you are on a downtown pub crawl (not that I've ever done one..tee hee), make this one of your stops for a Smoked Old Fashioned. It's one of their most popular craft cocktails and I just loved the flavors. One BIG recommendation is that you make reservations ahead of time, especially on weekends or holidays. Our last visit was a Friday evening (no reservations) and were lucky to get some free seats at the rail in the bar. Hope to see you soon at Wine Down Tastings and Tapas! read more

Visited last night fur the first time and absolutely loved it!! Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. The Hickory Smoked Old Fashioned was delicious, as well as the habanero drink. Order it extra hot. Definitely look forward to visiting again. read more

The bar is amazing, cocktails are a must have here! Best service in town! Food is delicious of course too! You MUST stop here

I was a little skeptical of another small plates place opening up. The whole "tapas" theme seems very circa 2005. But I have to say I really enjoyed this place. I commend them on the ambiance...it was great. As you walk around this venue it is very Restoration Hardware meets Tuscan winery. You can smell the wine as you walk in. The cards and stations were nice you could enjoy trying a $30 bottle as well as a $100 bottle. I would definitely go for the flights that way you're not going back and forth to the stations. While the wine was good the signature cocktails were very good. We tried some of the small plates all of which were good as well. The asparagus with shaved parm, garlic, the olive tapenade and the BBQ bison meatballs. Those meatballs were really good! I can't wait to try the other dishes. read more

Love this place!! I have been here many times but I must say last week Gary made the best Old Fashion I have ever had!!

Tried the meatballs, the sweet potato fries, the pulled pork wontons for appetizers. Had the shrimp and grits for dinner. All were delicious! The shrimp and grits was such a savory dish I could only eat half. Our server was very knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. The wine bar on the first floor was a cool concept and was easy to utilize. As all of the appetizers, drinks, and dinner adds up - we'll probably go there for just a few shared appetizers and drinks in the future. Someone we knew was also dining there and stayed later than we did - quickly finding out they have a two hour limit. I thought it was odd as the environment there really encourages you to stay a while. Between ordering an appetizer at a time and trying various wines - hitting that two hour limit could be really easy when you're catching up with friends! Overall - the food and drinks were good and we'll go again. read more

This is the type of place Fort Wayne needed. First class service, combined with a tremendous beverage program. A vast selection of wines compliments their extensive and unique cocktail menu. The tapas style food choices are also excellent. You'll start planning your second visit even before your first experience ends. I highly recommended this establishment. read more

I owe Wine Down this much deserved absolutely positive updated review. Since the last time I visited, they have made some much needed changes to the menu and those changes have earned them an additional star from me. Service: EXCELLENT! Jerry was amazing! Friendly, funny, complimentary and had a great southern twang that you couldn't help but love. Ambience: No changes there. Intimate booths. Low lighting. Great place for a date or even to talk light business over drinks. Wine: Ordered the Moscato and it was light, fruity yet crisp. Effervescent even. LOVED IT! Food: They have added more tapas and some additional entrees. Ostrich is gone and alligator has been added. AND they have now added cheese to the French Onion Soup wish is SO IMPORTANT! Overall, great changes. -We ordered the Tomato Basil soup which was the least pleasing portion of our meal. It was more of a stew or dip-very chunky. As is, it would be better served with a crostini or breadstick rather than topped with a single crouton. Good flavor, imperfect consistency. -Wedge salad with ranch rather than bleu cheese. The ranch was quite tasty. I couldn't tell if it was scratch made but I liked it a lot. Would have been nice to have heirloom tomato slices instead of grape tomatoes and finely shredded cheese would have been more pleasing to the eye but those are somewhat minor details. -Pork tacos, which I learned are a top seller, were great. Small but good flavor between the squeeze of lime, abundance of cilantro and sprinkling of red onion. A sauce such as chipotle bbq or a dollop of pico de gallo would be a nice addition to give the palate something moist. Nonetheless, I'd order this again. -Apple crostata was the most delightful change! They changed the plating in a huge way. They also changed the dough and now it's more like elephant ear sticks in taste and shape. They were crispy and sweet. It's now topped with apples that have been sauteed in cinnamon and butter rather than with fresh 'skin-on apples'. This dish is So Tasty! This dish is a FANTASTIC VALUE and big enough for three people to share. Will definitely be returning to try out she of the other dishes such as the Roasted Mushroom Risotto and the cheesecake. read more

Love the serve yourself concept. The card they give you to keep your tab makes it simple and easy to get another glass anytime. Great place to socialize, although there is limited open space. I'm sure the patio will be a huge hit this summer. The food was excellent. Our group tried four tapas plates, soups, salads and a meat and cheese board. The staff was excellent and I love that the owners were mingling with the guests, asking about their experience and offering advice on wine and food choices. They also offer to split bill, which is a huge plus for groups! Only hiccup to the night was that they skipped over my name when waiting about an hour for a table. Once I brought it to their attention, they quickly cleared a table that had just left and had us seated within minutes. I expect they will continue to see similar wait times. I will definitely be going back, frequently. read more

I liked this place. It's a little hoity-toity without being over the top. The "cave" like rooms with the comfy couches are intimate while still allowing you to enjoy them in a group. The servers are very informative AND extremely upfront about the concept (i.e., they tell you to watch yourself when you're shamelessly swiping that "credit card"-like card at all those wine machines). The appetizers/small plates are well-executed, large portions and scrumptious. Great for a group or a date. If you go on a date, I'd recommend getting a table "upstairs" instead of down at the bar, which can be a little noisy. Love that you can either do the wine machines or just order wine at your table. read more

A place you definitely need to try. Couldn't ask for a better waitress. She had all the bases covered. The food was amazing as well as the wine and drinks. The atmosphere was why we went and it didn't disappoint. Warm inviting and truly romantic.... Definitely a new go to for us.... read more

Stopped in for drinks around eight, great atmosphere and menu. However none of that could overcome the horrible service. Drinks were more than 30 minutes in coming and then the server just disappeared we had to track her down to get our check which took another 30 minutes. read more

I tried Wine Down on Saturday night 8/22 after having dinner at another downtown eatery and decided to walk in and check it out. This place is very swanky and impressive, you can sample any wine or purchase a full glass by simply selecting how much you want to receive on the electronic dispensers. Great ambiance, outdoor seating, I really hope this place makes it in Fort Wayne.....I will definitely be back to try the food along side the wine! Recommend checking it out! Its places like this that may help get Fort Wayne OFF the "most boring city's" list. read more

I've been to Wine Down at least three times and their new outdoor bar just recently. I'm from Chicago and have been in Fort Wayne almost a year. Chicago has some amazing wine bars and tastings. I have to say I'm really grateful to have Wine Down here in Fort Wayne! I love flights and trying new wines. Wine Down has a great wine selection, plus food is great and service is even greater. I have to give credit to Ryan, my server for being perfectly attentive. As a former retail manager I know good service when I see it. read more
