We went a few months back but I just made my Yelp account lol. Food was great, cocktail was great, wine was great. They put a lot of care into their drinks and what appears to be a rotating/seasonal menu. It's beautiful on the inside, lots of stone and low lighting perfect for a romantic dinner. Our waitress was wonderful and took time explaining several things about the menu. We will most definitely be returning! read more

Had dinner at Wine Down for the umpteenth time and it was excellent as always. I'm only in Ft Wayne a handful of times a year for business and this is on my short list of places to take customers or when dining solo. The food is stellar. Had the Pesto Chicken over the Risotto tonight and was a big fan. The bartender is super knowledgeable and knows how to make a craft cocktail better than most (try the Vieux Carre, instead of the Old Fashioned... It's a solid changeup). Huge bourbon list for those that are interested in unique bourbons. Very friendly staff that all get along like old friends, and a warm inviting atmosphere. Give it a shot, you'll like it. read more

My wife and I were able to go here last minute tonight and get a table. Everything about the experience was fantastic. Had the fried oysters and the marinated olives to start and both were incredible. The entrees were even better. My wife had the octopus special and I had the NY Strip. Top notch food and service. We will be going back. read more

I am a local professional that has visited this establishment on multiple occasions with continual disappointment in the consistently poor service and overpriced subpar food. The ambiance is great and when I find myself optimistic and downtown I continue to attempt to capture a good experience that I hear others often recant. This weekend I was hosting an adult outing with my sister in laws from out of town. After having a local dinner the ladies requested to go to Copper Spoon despite my initial hesitation. As the hostess, I facilitated transportation to take us there. After the initial investment to arrive I was surprised to be greeted by a host that refused to offer seating. He rudely informed us that despite visibly open tables there would not be an opportunity to service our party at any point in the evening. He directed us to a pub a few doors down as we appeared to be "more appropriate for their establishment." I was shocked as we were all dressed appropriately for a business casual event prior to arrival. This elitist attitude will not be forgotten and will be recanted to my personal and professional colleagues. Ridiculous. read more

We recently traveled home to Fort Wayne, and decided to try out copper spoon. I quickly realized that the menu had taken on the vibe of the old Golden restaurant. I was disappointed that the small plates that Wine Down used to offer were no longer available. However, even with my disappointment in the menu, our server made up for those missing items. Sage was an exceptional server who we have had the pleasure of having as our server! Sage is very well versed in bourbons and other mixed drinks. I found it very informative. I also quickly realized that Sage had been our barista for years at Starbucks when we lived in town. I would give Copper Spoon 5 stars if it were based on the service alone. I really hope that Copper Spoon sees Sage the way customers do. A professional, well informed server, who should really should be running the front end of a restaurant. read more

If you haven't tried this amazing place drop what you're doing and make a reservation (because they're always busy) NOW! The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is possibly the best in Fort Wayne and the drinks, well, they have one that's ranked 5th in the nation!! The bartenders are amazing! read more

This is high price for low quality. Sopressatta was more fat than meat. The chef said, "That's just the way it comes." I'm, sorry, but no it doesn't. The charcuterie plate ($22) comes with two cheeses, three mustards, one pickled hard boiled egg, three meats (if you call the fatty sopressata a meat), cornichons, and a few pistachios sprinkled. It came with 4 slices of baguette. More bread, which anyone would need, is $2 for four more thin slices (see attached photo). A bit much, I think. The high point was the waitress Rachel. Super sweet and attentive. read more

I cannot say enough about Copper Spoon. It is the place to go when you want that unmistakeable Disney experience in downtown Fort Wayne. They may be lacking princesses and rides, but the care and specification of every detail is apparent. Its not just good for Fort Wayne...the flavors, creativity and vibe are universal. We used to sit at a table each visit, but I didn't make reservations one Friday and ended up at the bar. We were so entertained by the bartenders, that has become our new go-to. The food is outstanding, the drinks are creative and delicious, but the most important and highest ranking is the staff. Being an HR Director, even the best food at the best restaurant can fall flat on its face with subpar service. The staff at Copper Spoon are so spot-on, you think you can't be in Fort Wayne. You can tell every detail is a part of training and any time I hear them talk about the owner, it is with admiration. For staff and culture to be on board with their manager/owner's vision is even a difficult feat for large companies with unlimited budgets, but they have figured it out. I am a foodie and have tried several different menu items and each one has been creative, complex and delicious. I didn't think I cared for curry, but I even enjoyed their curry dish. Fantasic place, try it. read more

SO good!! They have an extensive selection of cocktails and wine. Our waiter was very helpful in selecting drinks when we were between options. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend the whipped feta appetizer! Loved the atmosphere too! read more

Fantastic. The mixologists at the bar create drinkable art. The food is outstanding. Every time I've eaten here it has been a deliciously memorable experience. If you want to eat an amazing meal and dine in a unique atmosphere, you should go to the Copper Spoon! read more

Thirsty Thursday dinner for four of us. 1/2 price wine bottles. Service was excellent and the food was art on a plate and delicious. This is a fabulous place to spend the evening over fine food and drinks. Always a place to stop when we are in Fort Wayne. Bonus getting to see Chef Aaron on the way out. Our thanks to Kevin for the great service and the kitchen team for the great food. read more

Glad I found this place this week. We went there three days in a row it was so good! Food was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Can't beat the Monday special for a Burger, beer, and shot for $15 read more

We are on the patio and it was very loud due to the music at the ballpark. The food was ok but for the price I was expecting more. I'm a vegetarian so I tried the peanut noodles and tofu. My husband had the steak. His was a little tough and to be honest, I've had better noodles at the Thai restaurant by JP. The drinks were good and at $13 and $10 a pop they should be. I do recommend the capris Salad with the fried eggplant...that was great. If we go back I would probably just do sides and a salad. read more

I am thoroughly impressed, unassuming from the outside. Prices are extremely reasonable and the food is exceptional. The Cesar Salad, usually boring , has a unique flavor and I would definitely order again. The French onion soup was also a good compliment to the salad, I recommend. Bartender was making some crazy cocktails too, I stuck with Wine. I will be back. read more

I can only speak for the drinks, since I haven't tried the food. But in general, the service was pretty slow - we sat right at the bar last time I was there and it still took almost 10 minutes to get our order taken. Additionally, none of the cocktails I've tried have been spectacularly good. I will say that they do make them strong, so that's a saving grace. It's a nice atmosphere if you have plenty of time to sit down. It'd be a decent date location because most of the booths are secluded and the decor is pretty upscale - but for a quick drink with friends, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

The Copper Spoon is such a nice treat, but it's way overpriced. I tend to justify the price only for birthdays and special occasions. It's a nice, intimate classy atmosphere, which I enjoy. They have wine on tap! I'd definitely be more of a frequent visitor if it didn't break the bank! read more

well to start things off my waiter was suppeerrrrrrr hot and when she asked me for my number i said no bc she was to hot like sweating hot then when she bring the food to me i asked for extra ranch and she forgot abt it so i had to make my own. and then i got super mad and start sweating to i was so hot by the time i left i had to jump in the white stuff outside (snow) over all it was a great experience. read more

Super cool place, feels like a speakeasy!! Food was beyond fabulous and their drink "bible" will blow you away! Such a great stop

Don't miss their late night menu (10pm - midnight on weekends) - the food by Chef Butts is incredible. Where they really shine is their cocktails and drinks. They have the best bartenders in town. Went there for a date night and we had an amazing experience! Every course of our dinner was on point. We started with the blood orange margaritas (seasonal drink) and I hope they have it again next time we go. We choose the lobster Mac n cheese for an appetizer, the Mac n cheese was good but for the cost of adding the lobster it was overpriced. It barely came with two teaspoons of lobster bites - they did offer to get me more lobster and wish I had said yes but at the time I misread the price. Our main courses were both great: I got the chicken and loved it, my husband got the rice/beans bowl and he really liked it (not my style of dish). The dessert was to die for...oh my god so good. I don't remember the name but it had layers of goodness with caramel in a cup. They had it as a seasonal item but it was performing so well our bartender told us they were planning on adding it to their regular menu. We sat at the bar since we went there last minute without a reservation and enjoyed the whole experience. We can't wait to go back next time we are in town. read more

Hands down, if you're looking for an excellent foodie experience of cocktails AND food...this is the spot!

If I could give more stars, I would. Last night was our first time at Wine Down to celebrate my husbands 25th birthday and we will definitely be back. The decor is elegant but with a cozy feel. Our server (Raj) was amazing. He started off by giving us a great tour of the menu since we had never been before. For drinks we started off with the smoked old fashion (a must!) & the lady Linda (basically a strawberry mojito: strawberry, minty, fresh). For food we decided to go with a bunch of small plate tapas. We got the pulled pork tacos, bison meatballs, ahi tuna poke, tomato Fresca flatbread, & French onion soup. The bison meatballs had an amazing raspberry chipotle sauce on them that was to die for. The ahi tuna was served with avocado chunks tossed in & wow, the whole thing was so fresh, pita chips were the right amount of crisp. The tomato Fresca flatbread & the french onion soup were the best we've ever had. The soup had horseradish I believe on the piece of bread, who doesn't love that little kick?! The pulled pork tacos were very good especially if you squeeze a little of the lime on them that is holding the tacos up! We then got a Kentucky mule & a cocktail that I can't remember the name of but it was black (activated charcoal) with rum, blood orange, & sugar. So yummy. We then got the chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was perfect, from the service to the drinks to the food. I can't wait to go back. read more

I was excited to try the re-branded Copper Spoon for drinks - and I was not disappointed. Their cocktail menu is EXTENSIVE (and somewhat overwhelming after having lived in a town that's served the same 12 cocktails for the last century). I looked at the bartender and asked him to "divine" me a drink - he asked great questions to get at what I was used to, how adventurous I was, whether I liked strong, sweet, citrus, smoke, etc. He instantly struck me as someone who was a craftsman - highly skilled, highly inventive, highly creative. My first drink was a blend of gin, absinthe and citrus liqueur. It was like nothing I've ever had before - in the best way! Chilled perfectly with a beautiful garnish. I tested him again for my second drink and he came up with something totally different, but equally impressive - a smoky version of an old fashioned with Mezcal (which I had never had before). The drinks are expensive (most between $10-$12) but for that amount of craftsmanship, I think they are absolutely worth it. As a Fort Wayne native, I can say that I've settled for mediocre quality + high quantity for a long time in this city. It is refreshing to see that there are new ideas rising to the surface here. I'd rather pay $12 to a local business, generously tip my local bartender and feel good about supporting something homegrown. I'm hopeful that Copper Spoon can elevate this town, one amazing cocktail at a time. read more

If you love whiskey, this place is phenomenal! The attention to detail that was given in putting this place together is amazing, from the leather bound drink book to the clear crystal looking ice cubes. Their drinks are made as though it is an art form, with much care and detail. The food.....AMAZING!!! I could eat the soup and Brussel Sprout salad every day! Phenomenal place. I visit Copper Spoon every time I am in Fort Wayne. One of the best drink menus GUARANTEED! I was told three bartenders/mixologist are in the Top 100 in the US. The following are things that are true, and I hope they're helpful to any who may read: I'm grateful I looked this place up my first visit to Ft. Wayne. I really have had no inclination to look elsewhere when I happen to be in town. Everyone who works here is the coolest - the owner, the waiting staff, the bartenders - and they have a clear passion for providing a wonderful experience for their guests via their consciously-crafted food & drink menu. If you're into wine, boy do they have you covered. The cocktail menu is more refined and robust than any I've yet seen in L.A., Seattle, San Diego, Boston, etc. The food is pretty badass at worst, and exquisite at best. Shrimp & Grits there may be one of the best food things that anyone's ever prepared. Ever. Many thanks to Gary, Trevor, Carl, Jordan, Lisa, Tyler and the gang for providing consistently memorable Ft. Wayne experiences for me. Until next time, friends. read more

In town for a medical conference and stumbled into this little gem. Great, and I mean great, bartenders and cocktails. Also, food was excellent. I have some food restrictions and the chef came out to talk to me, then made accommodations. The food was excellent. I liked it so much I returned the next night for an encore performance. Go there if you are in the area and you are into eating and drinking. You are welcome in advance. read more

A short walk from our hotel was this adorable little place! Cozy and comfortable surroundings with secluded booths big enough to comfortably seat six. Perfect for two. The tapas were tantalizing. I wish I would have taken pictures but we were enjoying each other's company. The duck flatbread was my favorite! My boyfriend defines a place by their ability to make an Old Fashioned and you did not disappoint! The hickory smoked cocktail was perfectly executed. My French 75 was a light and lemony treat with the Prosecco bubbles tickling my tongue. Ooh and dessert! The crème brûlée was a surprise. I enjoyed this twist on the traditional with the explosion of coffee in the creamy custard. It was beautifully topped with an artful caramelized sugar cage. So cute! read more

I tried wine down and tapas at a yelp event tonight. I had the chance to meet the owner and he was very nice and helpful explaining the wine selection. I really enjoy wine and loved the pour it yourself experience. it almost made wine tasting less threatening because if you didn't like it there was no bar tender you had to smile for...you just could move on and poor yourself a glass of something you liked. We also got to try a sample plate and I could have eaten a whole plate of the Buffalo chicken skewers but if you don't like spicy food you may try something different. I loved the atmosphere and will definitely go back again with friends! read more

Wine Down is a great spot for a girls night out or a romantic date. Obviously wine is a high priority there, but don't forget about their hand crafted cocktails, they're amazing. I recommend the smoked old fashion or the yellow jacket. As far as food goes I've never had anything bad, but a few of my favorites include the artisan cheese board, bison burger, and their ostrich fillets. If you haven't been there in awhile they have added additional seating to the patio which is huge. Tentatively, by June, they plan on having an open bar out there which will be perfect for those who wants to close the night out with a nice cabernet after a Tincaps Game. Wine Down is a gem in downtown Fort Wayne. read more
