I would like to leave two reviews - one for all of my friends and clients that told me to not go here, so I could leave them one star - and the 2nd review is this: I have been looking for this kind of place since I moved here. I hate I've spent time missed - someone told me it was like a winery. I love wine, but I'm from Oregon so who are we kidding with Indiana wine? No one had told me to come here for dinner. No one had told me they have like a bar bar? I walk by this place multiple times a month! My lawyer is upstairs and even they didn't mention it besides a place to buy some wine! But, when I finally saw a picture of some food on my feed, it piqued my interest. I usually go 2-3 times before I review. So, I'm sold. This is making me feel like I'm back at home in NYC or Portland more than anything I've seen in the entire Midwest even. The music & overall vibe. It's dark and intimate which -usually I like the brighter more modern spots but they do it well. There is a painting of Biggie and Bowie on the wall. That's all I had to hear to want to come. The food is incredible. We got a good spread from their menu. Farm sourced! Tacos are to die for. Like they're a MUST. I'm partial to duck but it was a close tie with the fish. The Chicken Sliders. The charcuterie. I'm sitting at work and I'm thinking about it just salivating. There was this creamy white cheese on the board that I might come back just for that. As far as the bar... the Wine list is amazing. The bar as a whole though is just everything you'd expect going into a cocktail bar in Manhattan or Portland or Chicago, other than they close a little earlier but, it is the quiet Midwest. The first bar in town I can ask for a Negroni and not get questioned. Service wise, I think it was Raj that helped us at the bar and he was great that was just last week. At the tables I had a girl who was a delight and very knowledgeable. The other time I don't remember his name but he was great. The staff seems to be so friendly with each other which is very refreshing. If this is the trend of restaurants in Fort Wayne - I'm glad I moved here. read more

I'm a frequent guest at Wine Down & decided it was time to give credit where credit is due! Their atmosphere is second to none. The decor is warm & inviting with a blend of rustic Old World & sleek modern style. They also have a beautiful patio with sectional couches & fire pits. It was great watching the fireworks after TinCaps games & fun listening to the live music events on their patio during the summer. The food is creative and always delicious. I especially like the Shrimp 'n Grits dinner, Filet dinner, Buffalo Chicken Skewers tapas, Sweet Potato Fries, & the Avocado Shell. I love their desserts & their cheesecake specials are hard to resist! They have an outstanding bar with original cocktails & a nice selection of beers. Their Strawberry Basil Daiquiri, Lady Linda, and the Aztecan are some of my favorites. The wine machines are fun & and provide a unique opportunity to taste a variety of quality wines. If you haven't tried this one of a kind spot in downtown Fort Wayne, you're definitely missing out! read more

Copper Spoon in downtown Fort Wayne is a beautifully crafted blend of sophistication and warmth, with a menu that leans "New American" and a cocktail program that truly shines. The interiors feel intimate and stylish, ideal for a date night or special evening out. I tried their Whipped Feta to start--it was creamy, tangy, and went perfectly with the crisp bread. For my entrée, I had the New York Strip Steak cooked to a nice medium-rare, with sides that complemented without overshadowing the main. The cocktails are a highlight--the bar boasts an award-winning program with a vast spirits selection and creative seasonal drinks. On the flip side, it's not cheap, and some menu items rotate seasonally so your favorite may not always be available. Also, during busy nights the service can slow slightly while staff juggle many tables. But overall, Copper Spoon delivers on elegance, flavor, and a memorable dining experience. read more

The drink menu is vast and the drink names are very creative. This aside from the wine menu which is extensive as well. The crab cakes were wonderful. Tender, juicy, spicy and no fishy taste. I had the bison burger and it was very juicy. Topped with delicious bacon that was cooked perfectly, and a very flavorful slaw. The pretzel bread held up well for a burger that's a little messy. By messy, I mean good. My husband had the shrimp and grits. He cleaned his plate. I've made shrimp and grits before, but never topped it with a sunny side up egg.Yum! Our server Jerry was knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. It was a wonderful experience start to finish. read more

The wife and I went to Wine Down last night for our anniversary dinner. We always seem to feel over dressed for most places but this place is a classy venture. We was seated promptly with our reservation's and the wait staff made us feel very welcome. We started our night out with a sweet red wine and the meat and cheese board which was phenomenal!!! Wine and tapas--what more could a girl want? Great selection of wine...oh and they have a full bar. Great craft cocktails to boast about. The Old World Board is an awesome assortment of meats, cheeses, and my favorite- olive tapenade. Interior is exquisite and gives other fine dining restaurants in Fort Wayne a run for their money. Laycoff's Tavern (near Granite City/Target, North Clinton St) - iconic place with good pizza…read more Laycoff's is a fun little place to frequent. It doesn't seat a lot of people. So...you might have to wait for a table. Unfortunately there isn't space for a nice waiting area. So you might stand up in the small bar area while you wait. It's okay. Things move fast. Enjoy the people watching opportunity. The team here is very friendly and welcoming in an odd way. They really are glad to serve you. Lots of smiles and friendly smiles. They are efficiently-friendly. They all move and talk fast. They are hustling to serve - not avoid. They will take a moment to get to relate...but not much more than a moment. The service is very good! The Sullivan family is very nice as well. Laycoff's is known for sausage rolls and a community bar environment. My wife loves her sausage roll. Full of tasty cheese surrounded by a light, fluffy and soft dough. The American sausage blended in with the cheese nicely. The menu has a small number of specialty pizzas (only six) along with build-your-own option. The prices are pretty comparable to other bars. On this occasion I got a 16" Everything pizza for $20. A 16 inch pizza was a LOT of delicious pizza. The pizza crust is thin. It is thin enough that almost every bit has a slight crunch. However, it was also soft enough to satisfy the less than crunchy crowd. The crust doesn't have much distinct flavor or seasoning. Just a nice thin crust. The pizza sauce was also hard to distinguish. The pizza is so full of toppings and cheese that you really don't see the sauce. The sauce that was they are blended well with the American sausage base. Now the best part - the fresh toppings! Laycoff's uses the Pizza King approach by using finely chopped toppings. The base of the Everything pizza is a finely ground American sausage. The base of the pizza so completely covered with sausage on the Everything choice. The sausage doesn't have much spice or flair as it is American style instead of Italian. The pepperoni is very thin. The fresh and slightly crunchy onions and peppers are chopped into small pieces. Even the green and black olives seemed to be smaller. The whole pizza was coated in delicious tasting mozzarella cheese. As I mentioned the 16 inch pizza is a large pizza. Laycoff's cuts the pizza into large pieces as well. This pizza could easily feed 3-4 people. Cold Pizza Test - I always want to try the pizza the next morning, cold, and for breakfast. This pizza was outstanding cold and as a left over. The coldness causes the mozzarella cheese taste to really come forward. The saltiness of the olives gets bolder. The bed of sausage and cover of cheese really help keep the pizza moist. The crust stayed a bit soft with a slight crunch. Overall, I really liked the pizza. It wasn't outstanding. However, it was really good at a good value.
