Order counter. Also they serve Amy's ice cream scoops!

Cooper's serves up some solid sandwiches in a cute, warm environment with lots of precious dog-related decor. The shop is named after the founder's dog, Cooper, a golden retriever who is featured as one of the store's various "employees of the month" on the front wall by the drink station. Each sandwich is named after one of the other dogs (also featured on the employee of the month wall :) ), and they all offer some unique combos--not your typical sub-shop flavor profiles! My husband and I popped in for a Saturday lunch on the run, and the ladies working there were incredibly kind and gracious. Sandwiches came out great, and the "small" is massive and more than enough for one person! So be warned! Both of us were very full once finished. They also offer pizzas, pizza rolls, ice cream, and salads. We didn't try any of these offerings, but we hope to soon! Ingredients were fresh, offerings were reasonably varied without being over-broad, and overall we enjoyed our meal! Better than subway, jimmy John's, etc. So if you're craving a sandwich, go support this local spot and keep Austin weird.

The ambiance is not fancy, but the people are friendly and the food is great. It's counter service for your sandwich (or salad) and Amy's ice cream. You can build your own sandwich, but I couldn't resist the Simba - a warm sandwich on flat bread with prosciutto, figs, caramelized onions, cream cheese and arugula. Total yumminess. And check out the employee of the month photos - anyone who loves dogs that much is a-okay on my list. Would love to see them expand their side options beyond a bag of chips (good ones at that). But I will be going back to try them again.

Stopped by here for a late lunch on my way home. Nice little place. Standard Sandwich options. I opted for the Apollo, a specialty sandwich, cause I was intrigued by the creamed corn, despite the price, but it only comes in one size--LARGE. The baguette was super fresh (a big plus) and the combo of meat, cheese and corn was surprisingly good. Despite being super hungry I could only eat half of it. The daughter had a small plain turkey with provolone on white, which was also very good and still large for a small. Will for sure come back, if not for a sandwich perhaps for the Amy's ice cream, or for both.

The sandwich I got was delicious! The staff was so so friendly and helpful. The food was affordable, filling with really fresh ingredients. The decor of the store front was very cute and dog oriented. Cooper did a great job! I'll be back for sure!

overall 4/5 stars! the woman who took our order was really kind and made the sandwiches fast. i love that the specialty sandwiches were all named after dogs!! i got the simba. i give it a 3/5 stars because i don't like goat cheese and i knew this had goat cheese so that's honestly my fault. my boyfriend got the brooklyn. he gave it a 4/5 but said he wouldn't get it again. we both want to come back but order differently because we could've chosen different sandwiches and enjoyed them more based on our food preferences. i mean come on! why did i order the one with goat cheese on it?! ‍ can't wait to try it again!

Super friendly local spot. The place is clean & they have some cute little tables outside to eat your sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and filling. I love that they also have Mexican Coke (real sugar sodas) and Amy's Ice cream!! I'll be back. Thanks for a great lunch!

I tried the Simba sandwich. It's amazing and very different from a traditional sandwich or sub. Definitely recommend coming here.

The Simba Sandwich - so delicious!

This sandwich shop is tucked away on Southwest Parkway. It has pizzas and sandwiches, along with soups, salads, and pizza rolls. I enjoy that it has a dinner theme with the pizzas and a lunch theme with the sandwiches. I ordered the Simba Sandwich for lunch. It was absolutely fantastic! There was no shortage of any of the toppings, which included goat cheese, prosciutto, arugula, and fig jam. It was sweet and savory, and I devoured the whole thing. I will definitely be returning to try other sandwiches, and I am super curious about the Simba Pizza (cream on a pizza is nothing short of amazing). And the service is very friendly, which is always a huge plus.

Cooper's Sandwiches is great, definitely go try out this local business! I ordered a vegetarian Sandwich (I think it was called the Lulu), and made a few substitutions based on an allergy and they were very accommodating! I agree with a previous comment that the bread should be toasted, but I think it is a great option for fresh ingredients and friendly service! I wish they had more marketing within the store to explain the story behind the name of the business as well as the names of the sandwiches! Their website briefly touches on the fact that each sandwich is named after a family dog, I wish I could have seen pictures of them in the store, and more info about where they donate money to (I think this may have been referenced in-store as well, but I can't remember). Awesome service, and great seating inside. I will definitely be going back!

95% focus on the "customer" and 5% focus should be on the "stuff" if your business. Making people feel important goes a long way. Stopped in around noon and the place was empty. I believe the owner/manager was behind the counter training a new employee. No greeting when I entered and they were 10-12 feet away from me in plain sight. I ordered the Apollo, Chips and a water. The ciabatta bread was warm and soft-not overly chewy. The Apollo is a huge sandwich-filled with roast beef, ham, Jack cheese, creamed corn and bacon bits. Surprisingly it did lack flavor. The bread was warm but the meats were cold. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be? Idk. I wrapped up my lunch and as I was leaving I was hoping for a "thank you, have a good day" and nothing. So much for making the customer feel important. If you choose to dine at Coopers, I hope you have a better experience than I did.

Pretty underwhelming. My sandwich was on par with what I could get at Subway. The person working the counter seemed half asleep.

The fresh herbs were a bit excessive on the lamb sammie. Would have liked the lamb to be the dominant flavor, not the mint.

Then I watch them finish up the sandwiches and hand it to some dude who walked in after me, then I asked him about my order he said they're starting it right now. OK so clearly in accurate information, mind you I waited 20 mins after placing my order to show up. Second day given the experience I had the day before I literally waited 25 minutes to show up. A whole five minutes after the Uber app told me it would be ready. The employee told me they must not have got my order but the screen is visible and I could see that about 12 orders came in above mine they just never made it. Instead of apologizing or even offering to give me a free cookie he just said I'll make it right now then proceeded to make sandwiches for multiple walk-in customers while I sat there waiting going on 10 minutes now. The sandwiches are pretty good which is why they're getting two stars but I'll be moving to another location after this. The business is logistically not ran well.

I got held up at an event and didn't make it in the door until 10 minutes before closing, which I know is not ideal but I was ready to order as soon as I walked in. Except the order station was abandoned, so I waited. One of the kitchen staff saw me waiting but didn't alert anyone to take my order. When someone did finally emerge from the back, they saw me waiting at the order station and proceeded to completely ignore me and instead waited one of the groups dining in. Then that same person went back to the back until 2 minutes after closing when they came to tell me that they were closed. I said that I'd been waiting there quite a while to order but again treated me like a ghost and didn't reply. I didn't argue because he obviously wasn't going to let me order no matter what I said but the whole experience was so disrespectful. If anyone would have just told me "sorry we've already shut down the kitchen" it would have been sad but fine, but to have multiple staff see me waiting there for 12 minutes and I guess just hope I would go away... wtf?
