Can't believe it's taken me this long to try my first bagel spot in Austin. This place was walking distance across from my doctor's office so it was convenient for me to hit. There wasn't a long line but they consistently had customers walking in & taking out during my period eating/finishing my own egg sandwich. I got a "make your own" with egg bagel, egg, turkey, and scallion cream cheese. It was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away. I enjoyed reading the news article clipping from Dec 2018 about Austin's evolving bagel scene & its late start compared to other major cities.

The reviews that I have read all seemed positive for this place so I decided to give it a go. I ordered the Nova Lox on a sesame bagel. It was great but pricey. It came to about 14 dollars!! There was a line and lots of to go orders waiting to be picked up. So that was a good sign. I ate outside at one of the little tables and did some people watching as people came and went. The bagel was perfectly chewy as a good bagel should be. The price won't deter me from coming back. I just won't be able to go as much as I would like.

An efficiently run bagel shop located in a strip mall. The interior is a simple New York style bagel spot with a few seats along the wall. As you enter, you can place an order, or pick up your online order. We ordered a whitefish salad sandwich on an everything bagel and a nova lox sandwich on pumpernickel. Both were delicious. Reminded me of the bagels I'd get in the city. Definitely a stop if craving a taste of New York.

I had the breakfast sandwich was excellent. Small interior, but had some nice outdoor seating. Lots of workers, but still took a little while to get our food which I assume is because we ordered one hot bagel. Would eat there again as it was tasty.

This is my go to bagel spot. I ordered their premium nova lox bagel sandwich with an onion bagel and scallion cream cheese. It had a very nice salty and savory taste with the capers. The tomato balanced everything out making it very refreshing. The bagel had a crisp exterior and a soft interior. It was warm, fluffy and easy to bite into. My fiancé ordered the jalapeño cheddar bagel with bacon, egg, and Texas loaded cream cheese. It wasn't too heavy. All of the flavors really complimented each other and was very savory.

11/10! Today (2/06/25) I went and had a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and I didn't even have to wait long. By the time I was able to find a table outside to sit they were calling my name. The place itself could use a deep clean but the overall aesthetic is warm and inviting. The drink cooler was available and full and I loved seeing the mensch on a bench! How fun! Not to mention all of the cream cheeses they have! I asked and yes they are all made by hand! ;) The staff were friendly and seemed to be having a good time. Overall a new go to for me. Thanks Wholy Bagel!

The bagels I had. First off, nobody makes a real pumpernickel bagel. Second. The. Lite rye bagel had a lot of large holes. The bagels whether straight dough method , starter, poolish , mother , chef or preferment, need not to have as much yeast as French bread nor a short rise time. Guess the name is what they sell now..

I really liked Wholy Bagel. I got an everything bagel lox sandwich. The bagel was nice and chewy and well flavored. I think I would have preferred the sandwich without tomato but that's just personal preference. The capers and onions went well with the scallion cream cheese. I think I was comparing this to New York bagels where you expect a lot of cream cheese. I would have liked just a bit more.

Best Lox bagel I've had in a VERY VERY long time!! The service was great and the employees are so so kind. Will be back for sure.

Good bagels and cream cheese. Call and ahead ordering suggested so you don't have to wait for a long time.

Does anyone know how the take out line works? Or just the inside lines in general? Seems like a bunch of people standing around aimlessly with no order.

There is no take out line really. Normally one line for all orders and people on the side are waiting for their orders.… Read more

We've been to their multiple locations across Austin and they all are phenomenal, but we especially love this one for its ambiance and layout. They have a beautiful mosaic mural on the counter with a good amount of seating inside. Every time we've visited this location they've always greeted us upon entering, provided seamless ordering and a quick turn around on our order. PLUS our order always comes just as we ordered it, even with any additions we'v made. We've tried a variety of their sandwiches at this point and while they are all super good, hands down our favs have got to be the Big Fat Snarf, Italian Supreme, The Italian and honestly the kids pb and jelly (yes random, but damn its so simple yet tasty) We love the toastiness of their sandwiches and how loaded they make them all, plus they have a long list of options! Even gluten free and vegetarian! If you haven't yet been to a snarfs you MUST go! They will definitely cure any sandwich craving you're having!

The bread was really good. Nice and crusty. Plenty of tasty melted cheese. The meatballs were rather unexceptional though, just nothing special. Since the word has gotten out about Casper Fermentables, They sell out early in the day. By lunch time, the bagels were all gone. By 1 pm, everything was all gone and they were shutting up to go home. So set your alarm clock early if you want to go to Casper Fermentables. * * * A charm of Casper Fermentables is that their sandwiches and bagels are seriously overstuffed. Samuel C. loves himself a good overstuffed sandwich. More is more. But Paradise Has Its Price. If your bagel or sourdough bread is overstuffed, that makes it harder to taste the sourdough. Which kind of defeats the primary purpose of you being there. However, if you really concentrate, And eat mindfully, You can make out the taste of that bagel or sourdough bread Underneath all the good stuff. That is a real pleasant moment when that taste comes through. You are going to have to concentrate to get to that sourdough taste. I was with interesting fascinating company - a good person who I hadn't seen in a long time. That was a pleasure in and of itself ... But like my really good tuna salad with excellent dijon and hot pepper oil, It was a delightful distraction from the sourdough. * * * Some things in life are better than fermented bread. But this is good honest fermented bread.
