Been coming here consistently now for a couple weeks for breakfast, and I have a new found love for bagels and cream cheese. The breakfast bagel I could eat every single morning. Different varieties of bagels like 15 options as well as cream cheese :D The people are always nice and I'm usually there less than 10 min regardless of how busy the store is. Can't believe it's taken me this long to try my first bagel spot in Austin. This place was walking distance across from my doctor's office so it was convenient for me to hit. There wasn't a long line but they consistently had customers walking in & taking out during my period eating/finishing my own egg sandwich. Wholy Bagel (along with Nervous Charlies) is probably the closest thing to a jersey (okay New York too - gotta admit Bagel Boss is legit) we have here, So it's really nice to grab a bagel from here. The only thing - when you go into the store, it doesn't quite have that NJ bagel shop feel or smell (or big menu to look at up top), but it's a legit bagel and I will take that! read more

The reviews that I have read all seemed positive for this place so I decided to give it a go. I ordered the Nova Lox on a sesame bagel. It was great but pricey. It came to about 14 dollars!! There was a line and lots of to go orders waiting to be picked up. So that was a good sign. I ate outside at one of the little tables and did some people watching as people came and went. The bagel was perfectly chewy as a good bagel should be. The price won't deter me from coming back. I just won't be able to go as much as I would like. read more

Hands-down, the best bagels I've ever had. They even have a delicious vegan cream cheese. I've never had a bagel. I didn't like from this place. I really enjoy their multigrain as well as their other seasonal flavors of bagels. An efficiently run bagel shop located in a strip mall. The interior is a simple New York style bagel spot with a few seats along the wall. As you enter, you can place an order, or pick up your online order. We ordered a whitefish salad sandwich on an everything bagel and a nova lox sandwich on pumpernickel. Both were delicious. The bagels are consistently delicious but the shop itself definitely needs to be spruced up. I have been enjoying the bagels here since the store originally opened, 10+ years, and the interior definitely needs to be cleaned up. The walls look like they have never been washed or repainted, the area underneath the snack bar is scuffed up from shoes hitting the wall, the countertop edges by the register are chipped and dirty, and the place could use a good cleaning. If the area for the customers isn't clean, I'm concerned what the kitchen looks like. read more

Went there on a Sunday and despite them being super busy, was greeted immediately by the staff. I'm a regular haha. I've always been impressed with their service and of course, the best Bagels in Austin in my opinion. It's what you expect at a neighborhood bagel shop. Nothing fancy, yet quaint. Love their selection of bagels and they are big enough that two can share one. However, they are so good I don't share haha. Kudos to the owner Nicole for keeping this going for so many years. This is my go to bagel spot. I ordered their premium nova lox bagel sandwich with an onion bagel and scallion cream cheese. It had a very nice salty and savory taste with the capers. The tomato balanced everything out making it very refreshing. The bagel had a crisp exterior and a soft interior. It was warm, fluffy and easy to bite into. My fiancé ordered the jalapeño cheddar bagel with bacon, egg, and Texas loaded cream cheese. It wasn't too heavy. All of the flavors really complimented each other and was very savory. read more

I really liked Wholy Bagel. I got an everything bagel lox sandwich. The bagel was nice and chewy and well flavored. I think I would have preferred the sandwich without tomato but that's just personal preference. The capers and onions went well with the scallion cream cheese. 11/10! Today (2/06/25) I went and had a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel and I didn't even have to wait long. By the time I was able to find a table outside to sit they were calling my name. The place itself could use a deep clean but the overall aesthetic is warm and inviting. The drink cooler was available and full and I loved seeing the mensch on a bench! How fun! Not to mention all of the cream cheeses they have! Does having plaza parking make the food taste better.... debatable lol. Cute little place doing a ton of to-go orders. They have a couple high chairs on one side of the wall you can dine it but it's a small place. Place your order at the register and I got my order pretty quickly. I just preface I'm a New Yorker so I know my bagels and my lox, but in this case we did the quick version. I do love that they offer a full lox bagel but it is a special treat when a bagel joint has lox flavored cream cheese because it's not common. The pumpernickel bagels had a great chew. If you e ever been to Einstein they have a lighter bagel, this one had some weight to it. The lox cream cheese was divine. I'm not sure if they add anything else to it besides lox but it was divine and considering the bagel was toasty, the cream cheese consistency did not budge or slide out when you bit into it and that's the key. First time checking this place out and I wasn't thoroughly impressed. The customer service is wonderful. However, I requested no toppings/cream cheese spreads on my bagel. I just wanted a plain blueberry bagel and when I received it...it was packed with a strawberry cream cheese I believe. They did remake it but it was disappointing because I had another appointment so I was unable to even finish my bagel. I would check them out again but I cannot provide feedback on the food due to I only took a few bites and of course when I returned my bagel was come and hard. The coffee however was good. read more

I got the Rajin Cajun on a jalapeño cheddar bagel with the angry Texas cream cheese. The jalapeño and cheddar bagel wasn't like the usual ones with the crispy cheese on top and jalapeños on top. At first, I thought they gave me the wrong bagel for my sandwich (maybe they did?) bc the cheese and jalapeños weren't on there. If you like spicy, the angry Texas cream cheese is a must! Been here quite a few times, usually late morning/early afternoon on weekends. The wait times have been pretty variable and I definitely recommend utilizing their online ordering system. I've had times with no wait at all and others where you'll be waiting upwards of a half hour. The ETAs on their online ordering platform haven't been accurate in my experience. I typically go for breakfast sandwiches and have enjoyed them every time I've come. The quality of bagels and add ons to the sandwiches are pretty consistent, and they do a good job of keeping well stocked pretty late into their hours. Prices are pretty similar to their competiors as well. All else equal quality wise, the variety of bagel/cream cheese options available is really what brings me back to a place and is the biggest reason I've made Wholly one of my go fairly regular bagel spots. They have a very wide array of bagels, spreads, and add ons for sandwiches. I've yet to find a bagel/spread that I think really missed the mark, so this is a good place to expand your bagel horizons! Overall, I think this makes for a strong bagel option. Outside of the variable wait times and inaccurate ETAs, I can't really think of a major ding on them. I wouldn't say anything they have is worth necessarily going out of your way for, and if you're coming from a place with a stronger bagel culture than Austin I don't think you'll find them super impressive. However for those living in Austin I think this spot absolutely stands in line with Nervous Charlies, Rosens, etc in the bagels worth going for. read more

WHOLY WOW! Just grabbed lunch to go with my husband. We got the warm turkey club (turkey bacon cheese) on a toasted jalapeño cheddar bagel with Swiss and a toasted jalapeño cheddar it's half blueberry cream cheese and half strawberry cream cheese. The sando was the stand out. 10/10. You could tell the veggies were super fresh. Great tomatoes, crisp iceberg, solid onions. The meat was boars head so it was of course delicious. We will be returning for this for sure! The bagel with smear was good. Not anything special write home about but definitely solid! Both cream cheese flavors were nice. The jalapeño cheddar bagel skewed more jalapeño and didn't really have a produced cheddar flavor (which was absolutely fine). Overall we are so happy to have finally tried this local spot in our neighborhood and will def be grabbing lunch here again soon read more

Stopped by for quick bagel sandwich. Been here a few times and it has been consistent that my service and wait times are subpar. This visit was in mid morning after normal rushes and several folks were already inside waiting. Several online orders were not made and sitting in the system as I heard others ask their order. After waiting in line I wasn't greet but just asked what I wanted to order. First order, no bacon.. 15min wait for that. Second option ordered sausage egg and cream cheese. After rushing me through the order I knew to check receipt as she didn't confirm and already asked twice what type of bagel. After payment and placing order I confirmed receipt was inaccurate and communicated that to them. Not an issue, they made that work. Waiting about 5 more mins to get the bagel. As I was leaving again I wanted to just check my sandwich to make sure it was good.. well this time open it where the cut was, hair on the sausage. Went back in and looked at the employees, no hairnets or hair restraints. Made them aware, told me they would remake but I decline and asked for refund. After two other bad experiences with long waits (20mins+) this will be my last time here. This validates why I go north for the extra 10 min drive. Better bagels made fast and food safe. read more

I love Wholy bagel. Anytime I travel to Austin or near Austin, I make it a point to stop there as many times as possible but I have to say, the two times I stopped in the past two days have been dissappointing. My order was messed up both times. This was at the William Canon location. I'm not sure where the miscommunication is or maybe the touch screen does not work properly but to have two different orders two days in row get messed up sucks. I cant go back to get it corrected either since I live hours away. I will double check everything before accepting any order from now on. read more

Recommendation from a family member and yes, this is as close to New York style bagels. Dense and yummy. We love the egg bagels, everything and garlic. Texas Dozen means you get 14 beautiful bagels to your order. Glad that we're not far from this place. Morning drive, get your bagels, go home, slice and toast with a nice schmear on it. read more

Wrote a 5 star review here before but unfortunately have to revise my review to 1 star. This used to be my favorite bagel spot. We always order online to avoid the crazy lines and wait. Unfortunately, they cannot seem to get online orders correct. We have driven across town (over an hour drive in total) twice to pick up bagels here for breakfast and two times have ended up with the complete wrong order. Wrong bagels, wrong cream cheese spreads. In fact, not even close to what the actual order is. When checking the printed order, it is correct, so not sure why this keeps happening but it is now a trend. If you check other reviews, this is a systemic issue. The first time this happened, we gave them a pass. The second time, it became became clear this is a problem with the staff being incapable of reading an order and ensuring the correct order is put in the bag. When I called to let them know, they did give us a refund without hesitation which was appreciated. However, I sadly won't be returning and do not recommend their online order system because it's not worth the drive to discover upon getting home that they've provided a completely wrong order again. read more

While the choices may seem overwhelming, i really appreciated the flexibility they give when placing an order online, even to customize their named bagels. You can really tell that the bagels here are made in house and that they've perfected the art, one of the best everything bagels I've had.
