Lox Bagel

Came here to try the Lox and it was great! Place was pretty busy on a weekend so best to get the early if you can. Service was great everyone was really nice and gave a great rundown of all the products. Will definitely be back!

The lox and egg salad on jalapeno bagel

Found this place on the map as I was looking for bagel shops. I love that they have kombucha on tap and also have other bakery items for sale. They have sourdough bagels and I got an egg salad on a jalapeno bagel and my husband got the lox on a jalapeno bagel. He also got their house turmeric kombucha. There's seating inside and outside and the service was quick and easy. I only wish they had better bagel sandwich options.

Egg salad on sesame bagel with dill

The Good: The egg salad has the perfect amount of mayo and adding the butter to the bagel added richness to the overall sandwich. I took my sandwich home but the outside seating was cute and the service was prompt. The Not So Good: dill on the sandwich was a nice addition - just wish they had chopped it up rather than going for the photo finish and leaving it whole like a garnish. The Ugly: Skinny bagels will never win the heart of a person who grew up in NY/NJ.

Egg salad on a jalapeño bagel and lox on an everything bagel

This is a great bagel spot if you're in South Austin. I ordered the jalapeño bagel with egg salad and the everything bagel with lox. The jalapeño bagel had great flavor, but it was slightly too tough for my liking. The egg salad on top was nice and creamy though. The everything bagel was better in my opinion. It was softer and not as hard to bite into. The lox and other toppings were delicious. I would have preferred some more lox and capers for $16. The staff was nice, and the bagel was ready in a timely manner. The inside is cute and decorated nicely. There is more seating outside too. Overall, I think this is a solid option if you're craving a bagel, but I don't think I would go out of my way to visit again anytime soon.

jalapeño bagel with maple jalapeño shmear

From a New Yorker who is NOT a morning person, I came at 9am to try the bagels and I have to admit it was worth it. I ordered the everything bagel with roasted garlic shmear and tomatoes as well as the jalapeño bagel with maple jalapeño shmear, and both bagels were toasted to perfection (a light and soft crisp) while still keeping a soft and chewy interior. The bread themselves were delicious and the toppings only added to that. My order at any bagel place is always a shmear on an everything bagel with tomatoes, and it did not steer me wrong here. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy and the bright flavors were really brought out by the sprinkle of salt on top (although it was a tad bit salty). Something unique, also, was the inclusion of black peppers (which I am not big on but for others who enjoy a peppery flavor, they might be really into this). The garlic of the shmear was a bit subtle and I think could've been stronger (just as a personal preference). 4/5 stars. The jalapeño bagel with maple jalapeño shmear really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it as this is something I would've never ordered if my friend hadn't suggested it to me. The bagel was flavorful without being overpowering/too spicy and it paired very well with the shmear, which had a slight sweetness from the maple and a VERY subtle savory pickle flavor from the jalapeño without being sour. 5/5 stars

Everything Bagel with Roasted Garlic Shmear and Tomatoes, Sesame Bagel with Egg Salad, Sesame Bagel with Maple Jalapeño Shmear

A friend suggested we try this place and she had the tea. We ordered an everything bagel with roasted garlic shmear and a tomato, a sesame bagel with maple jalapeno shmear, the tuna kimchi melt, and a sesame bagel with egg salad. All the bagels were toasted perfectly and the shmears themselves were absolutely delicious. The tomato was refreshing and paired nicely with the umami of the roasted garlic and everything seasoning. We do wish they had jalapeno bagels left to try with the maple jalapeno shmear but the sesame was still delicious with it. The tuna kimchi melt was large and all the components worked so well together. It comes with chips and a spear of housemade dill pickle. The egg salad was smooth and creamy, but not too dilly. There is a limited amount of seating but the turnaround is pretty quick!

Pizza bagel, lox bagel, egg salad bagel

No one in Austin is doing bagels like Casper Fermentables, they are unmatched! This place has quickly become our go-to weekend breakfast spot. Our favorites are the lox bagel, the pizza bagel (try it with the jalapeño bagel- yum!), and the incredibly delicious sourdough cinnamon roll. Casper Fermentables is also perfectly located next to an awesome coffee shop (Stouthaus) and has plenty of outdoor seating. Every weekend we've gone the place gets more and more busy, this place is a gem and people are catching on!

The service was great as well as prices. The bagels are not traditional bagels more like sourdough toast. The everything bagel wasn't my favorite but the scallion spread and tuna salad were delicious. I 100% recommend their focaccia bread! It pairs perfectly with some olive oil and vinegar

I love this place! All the bagels are sourdough based and very delicious. They let me split my bagel to get different cream cheeses which I appreciate to be able to try different kinds. I also got the cinnamon roll and would highly recommend getting one to go before they run out! I would love to try the kombucha and fresh kimchi next time and will definitely be coming back. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming as well!

Pizza bagel (they may have changed it and put the sauce on the bottom so you might need to request the sauce on top instead)

Grandma approved!! My grandma is extremely picky about her food and restaurants and she still raves about how delicious and spot on this place is. My favorite things are the tuna sandwich, the chocolate rugelach and the pizza bagel. Tuna salad is PERFECTION and honestly so is everything else, you cannot go wrong. I also recently discovered their kombucha on tap and I'm wondering where this has been all my life! Super crisp, delightful, slightly sweet and it's a tea kombucha so it's caffeinated. It's the perfect morning drink and it's a glass of happiness (and only 2 grams of sugar but actually tastes sweet)

Knew about this place for a while and finally went... ordered the lox and tried to get a loaf to take home but they sold out of a lot and eventually sold out of everything while we were eating about an hour before they close. Bagels are legit, probably the best bagels I've had in Austin (still not a New York bagel but, you know, the water right?) went back 3 weekends in a row and had whitefish and also the cream cheese with kimchi. Tried to order the sauerkraut one but then realized when I got home they gave me the wrong order. That's my only gripe.... My friend went on a different occasion and they gave her the wrong order too. She ordered a vegan cream cheese bagel and they put lox on it. Hmmm what? Still wanna try more stuff like their sandwiches on regular bread but I do seem to always end up ordering a bagel.

The kimchi tuna melt blows my mind - so delicious and perfectly creamy. The bagel and smear on the other hand was a letdown. The bagel was so chewy and hard to swallow. I had the scallion smear and it wasn't flavorful enough.

Stoped by for a quick bite to eat. we arrived around 11:30…read moreAM on Saturday morning to discover , There were only three bagel flavors left for purchase. Ordered a egg and cheese bagel sandwhich on a regular begal and the cinnamon bagel with honey butter spread on the side. When the gentleman told us that they were only three bagels left, he mentioned there was a cinnamon bagel, but he did not mention there was raisins, which it does say cinnamon raisin on the menu however he only said cinnamon so we were expecting cinnamon only when we ordered it- not a big deal- the honey butter spread was literally butter and honey so when I ordered it on the side, it was a dollop of butter with honey sitting in the middle of it. odd but okay, i'm guessing most people don't order it in the side? I figured it would be mixed together I guess . anyways the egg was cooked perfect, the toast level on the begal was perfect as well. flavor was as to be expected nothing really stood out to me. definitely something to try if in the area, hopefully they have more bagel options avaliable next time we stop by.

I got a breakfast bagel sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. I asked what the difference was…read morebetween an everything bagel and an egg everything bagel, and they just said there is more egg in the egg one. I decided to get it, and it was pretty yellow. It was good, although it was very messy. They charge an extra 50 cents for cream cheese, which seems excessive. The breakfast bagel sandwich without cream cheese ended up being $9.20. It was about a 15 minute wait. I didn't see anyone in line ahead of me, but I assume they were making online orders. They are located in a dilapidated-looking apartment parking lot, where the signs all say that parking is for residents only. I parked in one of those spots, but I kept worrying that my car was going to be towed when I turned away for a few seconds.
