This place rocks! I am a die hard bagel fanatic and loving sourdough bread right now. And I saw this place had sourdough bagels and I had to try it. The Good: The egg salad has the perfect amount of mayo and adding the butter to the bagel added richness to the overall sandwich. The jalapeño bagel had great flavor, but it was slightly too tough for my liking. The egg salad on top was nice and creamy though. The everything bagel was better in my opinion. It was softer and not as hard to bite into. The lox and other toppings were delicious. I would have preferred some more lox and capers for $16. The staff was nice, and the bagel was ready in a timely manner. The inside is cute and decorated nicely. There is more seating outside too. Overall, I think this is a solid option if you're craving a bagel, but I don't think I would go out of my way to visit again anytime soon. read more

From a New Yorker who is NOT a morning person, I came at 9am to try the bagels and I have to admit it was worth it. I ordered the everything bagel with roasted garlic shmear and tomatoes as well as the jalapeño bagel with maple jalapeño shmear, and both bagels were toasted to perfection (a light and soft crisp) while still keeping a soft and chewy interior. The bread themselves were delicious and the toppings only added to that. My order at any bagel place is always a shmear on an everything bagel with tomatoes, and it did not steer me wrong here. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy and the bright flavors were really brought out by the sprinkle of salt on top (although it was a tad bit salty). Something unique, also, was the inclusion of black peppers (which I am not big on but for others who enjoy a peppery flavor, they might be really into this). The garlic of the shmear was a bit subtle and I think could've been stronger (just as a personal preference). 4/5 stars. The jalapeño bagel with maple jalapeño shmear really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it as this is something I would've never ordered if my friend hadn't suggested it to me. The bagel was flavorful without being overpowering/too spicy and it paired very well with the shmear, which had a slight sweetness from the maple and a VERY subtle savory pickle flavor from the jalapeño without being sour. 5/5 stars read more

A friend suggested we try this place and she had the tea. We ordered an everything bagel with roasted garlic shmear and a tomato, a sesame bagel with maple jalapeno shmear, the tuna kimchi melt, and a sesame bagel with egg salad. All the bagels were toasted perfectly and the shmears themselves were absolutely delicious. The tomato was refreshing and paired nicely with the umami of the roasted garlic and everything seasoning. We do wish they had jalapeno bagels left to try with the maple jalapeno shmear but the sesame was still delicious with it. I love this little spot with amazing bagels (I have hashimotos, so gluten and I are not friends) and I love that I can have my bagel and eat it too. They have a variety of bagels and smears, both dairy & vegan options. They also do sandwiches and salads and make their own kombucha. Service here is also so incredibly friendly. Knew about this place for a while and finally went... ordered the lox and tried to get a loaf to take home but they sold out of a lot and eventually sold out of everything while we were eating about an hour before they close. Busy but placed my order and went over to get some coffee. Service was okay, straight forward. Finally got in to try Casper! I'll be honest I've been trying a few times and their hours make it a bit difficult. I imagine that's the nature of long fermentation but hopefully in the future they can extend their hours. But alas! I got to try a nice spread of fermented treats. Starting with the focaccia, springy, chewy, salty and delicious. A little more dense than you might expect for focaccia but I enjoyed it all the same. LOVE the crispy salt crumbles on top. I tried a caramelized onion and turmeric artichoke (?), and both were great with the latter having some nice sour bites interspersed (see the yellow things in the picture). $7 / slice. The kombucha was lovely as well. More acidic than most store bought which is what I was hoping for. Low sugar, just all the good stuff. Total for 5 items was $29. Not bad. Inside was cute and comfortable. Can't wait to try more from them soon :) read more

They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and it seemed pretty popular despite its location near a freeway. This place was the jam. Pat on the back to my husband for finding this place when I mentioned I was craving a bagel. I mean, I was thinking like going to HEB but who knew there was a specialty shop for bagels in good ole Austin Texas. We tried the two main reviewer recommendations and they did not disappoint. I was a little worried my kiddos would be adverse to the choices we made but they devoured their portions....and then some. It's a pretty small establishment with some outdoor seating, so if you don't get here early you'll be standing in line. We ordered three bagels, a boring one (that was mine - cream cheese only lol), a lox bagel and a white fish bagel. We ordered one of each (3) rugelach and all of them were to die for. We also ordered the caramelized onion focaccia which was insanely delicious (and greasy = good).
