Just Wow, I had my eyes on this place for a while, the menu was intriguing and it looked like it had a unique and interesting ambience. Boy was I not disappointed! . One creative dish after another, each exciting my palate in new and different ways, mixing unexpected ingredients together for a surprisingly refreshing experience The restaurant itself kept one's eyes busy, a semi-mediaeval ambience reinforced the feeling of being someplace special, even exotic. The service was excellent and also very friendly. The server doubled as a bartender and was eager to create interesting concoctions on demand, lending his own creativity to the process. This place is highly recommended if you are looking for unique and interesting experiences - and quality on top of that

This is a local spot and we've been meaning to go for years. We were able to go for my husband's birthday tonight and we did the omnivore tasting menu (seven courses plus an amuse). We skipped the wine pairing but did do a wonderful bottle of sparkling rose. Overall, it was a great experience. The individual dishes were nuanced and flavorful. Mist had great depth and balance of flavors--some more than others (details below). All of the plating was immaculate. The venue itself is a beautiful and cozy space. The service is focused, friendly, andattentive. If you're still reading, here's the nitty-gritty: It began with a fun little "amuse." Cubed (compressed?) apple and a wafer. The first course was a smoked delicata squash tempura. This was lovely and balanced. Next was a pork loin saam. Again, very balanced. I love the pork, scallop and radicchio. The next course, the corn tamale. This was the first course we didn't love. The saucing was great but the masa felt a little dry. Next was a seared chicken thigh. It was good, but not as impressive as the first few dishes. The next course was described as pan roasted steelhead with a chicken and bacon soup. I would say it was more of a sauce than a soup. The last savory dish was the best: a wagyu short rib with coconut rice noodles. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The dessert was a kabocha squash upside down cake. This was also very good but tasted ever-so-slightly burnt. For some reason, they served a second a dessert. Basically drinking chocolate with berries/gummies. While I always love an add-on, this seemed unnecessary and it didn't fit the flavor profiles of the evening (it felt like a side journey and not a part of the tasting we had been on). Overall, a wonder experience. We would love to go back again to see how the menu evolves with the seasons. Note, it's an extravagant experience (costly). But this a wonderful venue and experience for any foodie.

I was visiting Seattle for a wedding. We came here for the wedding reception. The menu was a tasting menu, my favorite!! The restaurant is on the smaller side, which was perfect for a 24 person wedding. There was enough light to see the menus and everyone without having to use the flashlight on my phone. I hate when restaurants are so dark that you need to use your phone light. I was also able to have a conversation with people at my table and not have to scream or strain to hear them!! Aka no loud music! I thought this was a great dinner spot for a small wedding reception. There was enough room so it didn't feel crowded, and you could also mingle. But when it was time to eat dinner, you got to sit with the people at your table and enjoy the meal. The setup for the wedding was so simply elegant. We were all provided with tasting menus. Each dish was decadent and divine. I am on a LOW FODMAP diet so it was really nice that the chef was able to accommodate and make my dishes without onion, garlic, or gluten. Even with these changes, the food was spectacular. Each bite was flavorful, and I wanted more. We walked here from our Airbnb so I can't speak to parking. I hope to visit this restaurant again!

Laid back, casual fine dining is actually a thing! This place is a study in contrasts. The place is both cozy and spread out and roomy - you're not jammed in with another table listening to your conversation. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive - they will give brief information and happily answer questions but won't make the whole dinner about them. The real star, of course. Is the food. I had the non vegetarian pairing and my spouse has the vegetarian pairing. Each bite was completely amazing - with bold flavors and textures. My favorite dish might have been the first one - the fried oyster - or was it the corned beef in tom kha gai sauce? Everything was wonderful and I keep thinking about it. We also did the drink pairing. Bold and creative wines and even a few surprises, like beer and sake. Can't wait for the next special occasion to go again!

    Wow nice new place!

Cook Weaver is definitely one of those finds that make you realize how truly amazing it is that a family can run a restaurant in a big city like Seattle and survive. This is literally the dream of the Dad in the kitchen and the Mom in the front of the house. What they specialize in is tasting menus and on this August day, they definitely did not disappoint. What is really great is that it is incredibly reasonably priced and they will do all kinds of adjusting, so they have a vegetarian menu and do a great job of adjusting things for you. The appetizers were just great. We loved the fried smoked cod, it was just so delicate. And the sauteed zucchini was really a dream. The rich carrot condiment was terrific. The squid ink noodles were great and the salmon was done to perfection. Finally, the chicken thigh was really tasty. The menu changes all the time, but the two times we've been here have been great.

Amuse buse (not on menu)... it's apple and it's delicious

Gosh, what an interesting and mixed experience. This place has tons of potential, but the experience felt haphazard with basic service. I'll go a second time to see if we caught them on an off night. What's great: - Vegetarian tasting menu was exceptionally good with fun, unique dishes, perhaps the best in the city What's good: - Omnivore tasting menu was solidly good with a couple good/great dishes and a couple less good ones What's disappointing: - Service was basic, especially for the price point. Basic things like refilling water or getting a second drink were a challenge. Even things like the music was only turned on halfway into dinner. - The omnivore menu had a very similar flavor profile throughout the menu focused on beef broth. I wish I got the vegetarian option instead.

This has been by far the best Foody experience I've yet to experience. Showcases the gourmet artistry dishes of a James Beard chef balanced out with a down to earth homey atmosphere. I got to indulge in the chef's table and experience and it did not disappoint!!! I lost track of how many dishes we actually ate because one after the other was a total mouthgasm. The stand out dishes for me tho were the Steak Tartar, Washington Wagu, Cod and Mushroom soup. Not only were my taste buds fully engaged with the palette journey we were taken on but the precise placement of each ingredient was like looking at a work of art on a dish that you could eat. Textures are such a thing when it comes to eating and I was soooo thoroughly impressed. By far the best dining experience I've ever had and I would definitely come back to see what the Chef will create next. If you're in seattle and looking for a phenomenal dining place this is the spot!

Food- 3.5 stars Service- 1.5 stars Ambience- 3 stars Would recommend, if you have 3.5hrs for a meal. We came here for my husband's birthday and was pretty excited. Unfortunately it was one of the coldest days in Seattle, lol so temperature in the restaurant was not ideal. Given it's an older building, totally understand that they may not be equipped to keep the place warm. That was not the issue. There were 3 other couples in the restaurant during this time, so not exactly busy. The host/server was nice, however she rarely checked in on us and did not try to engage with us. We sat down and she told us we get to choose the vegetarian or omnivore tasting. We were fine with this, as we expected it, however another couple came in later and they were able to order al a cart and not do the tasting menu. The food was pretty tasty (on the saltier side) but unfortunately it took about 30mins in between each dish, in the freezing cold... it just ruined the whole experience. Our server also never checked in on us and one of the gals from the kitchen was serving us... she looked like she hated her job lol... when describing the dishes. 3.5hrs for a 7 course meal later, my husband and I were over this place, and looking around so were the other couples at the restaurant. We joked that we could have drove up to Vancouver Canada and back in that time. Lots of potential but service needs to be reviewed. Can't imagine going here knowing a busier day, could be an all day affair

Came for pre birthday dinner and have enjoyed the experience. I got the vegetarian tasting menu and my husband got the Non veg one, wanted to try more, hehe both were delicious! Drinks were superb too- got the Princess Swan and Garden Jewel. Reservations are required, the place is easy to miss. It's more like a place in basement, but the ambience is great. Both the mon veg and veg were paired beautifully with right ingredients. If you want to try 3 and dessert, it costs less compared to the 7 tastings menu. Definitely a place to celebrate big days, date night!

Located in Cap hill, consisting of a 7 course tasting menu for both veg and non veggie peeps and quirky ambiance. Everything they served was dainty. Initially, looking at the quantity I felt it may not be enough as a meal. I was wrong, the food really stuffs you well. There is not a single course that I disliked. From soup, to the fish and desserts everything was so presentable and enticing. Their menu keeps changing every month I believe. The service was really excellent. The server explains you about every course that is served. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Sat outside with a friend and had the omnivore tasting menu and cocktails. Cocktails were great. Tasting menu was excellent, we liked every single dish. The crab / fried chicken was a favorite, but even the turnip/radish dish, which didn't appeal that much on paper, was quite good. Servers were friendly and pro. Setting was really nice, across the street from a handsome building that houses the Mexican consulate. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is if I pay $95 for dinner, I don't want to still be a little hungry at the end. But I would happily go back again and again if I lived nearby.

Cook Weaver is the ideal spot for a unique dinner with their tasting menu! They offer 3, 5, and 7 course options. I chose to go with the 7 course, non vegetarian option since it was my first time - initially, I thought the dishes were small, but after 7 courses, I was stuffed. I'll probably go with the 5 courses next time. Also I recommend making reservations if you can because I think I saw the waiter turn away folks even though it was a Wednesday night. They also have an awesome block signaling system, where you can turn over the block for immediate service. Our waiter was amazing and so helpful! My favorite dish was probably the cod, but it's difficult to choose.

We went there for November tasting menu and we were disappointed when our whole party couldn't even finish the main dish ( roasted chicken thigh ). Bitterness was overpowering everything else and can't taste anything else. Other dishes weren't that memorable either. However, the ambiance and staff were amazing. We would love to give it another try, hoping they were just having an off seasonal menu.

I started off with the 99 Problems ($28), which, unfortunately, I forgot to note what was in the drink. It was boozy, clever, inventive, and most importantly delicious. My second drink was the Imperium Old Fashioned ($24) made with Westland Whiskey "Roquette" Barrel, Clement Cask Strength Rhum, Old Delicious Apple Brandy, Pineapple, and Spice.
