Just okay. The waitress was awesome! The pizza was soggy (too much cheese) and nothing spectacular about it. The Tumbleweed (Rum Runner) was fairly decent, not worth 16.00, though. I've had cheaper and tastier at the fair, but for a night out, the best in the area. If you're a Rum Runner fan, you know how hard it is to get a good one. The grilled cheese are GREAT! It got to be a bit too rich a few bites in. Disappointments: we were sat by the AC vent by the door, and it was freezing. The section felt like the overflow (which I believe is the purpose) and as if they just moved in. The lighting was weird and bright and cold. They don't offer bread or chips while we wait. On a Friday night, after work, it took awhile to order and get the food. We were starving. Most fine dining provides complimentary pre-appetizers, and I think they aren't necessarily fine-dining but just have fine-dining prices. I recently visited Cook'd from out of town last weekend. The atmosphere was energetic, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the decor made me feel right at home. The live band they had playing that night had everyone singing and dancing. If I didn't live two hours away, Cook'd would definitely be my go to spot to eat and play. We absolutely love this place..their "gravy" is very rich and thick full of flavor....we have had so many different things from burgers, to pizza to artichoke chicken and spaghetti and they are all fantastic but my favorite is the Ceasar Salad with their own dressing..if you like garlic this is the salad for you. Service is always great with friendly staff from the moment you walk in. Definitely a place you should try. read more

Great food! Amazing service! I read the review in the local paper and decided to try this restaurant out, and just the short time that I have been there we had tried to order a Coke they were out of Coke, we tried to order a corona they were out of corona. The dinner itself was a little bit priced on the high side for the amount that you got but it was delicious. Then we went on to dessert we had ordered chocolate lasagna and after 25 minutes of waiting our server came and told us they were out. At that point my daughter and her friend ordered the tiramisu which was decent but it did have alcohol in it, when we asked they said no.... I will definitely try this restaurant again but I will give it a few months to work out the kinks! read more

We have had great experiences both of the times we've been here in the last week or so. I'm someone who likes to sit at the bar and chat with bartenders. Brian, one of the owners, was behind the bar both times and was very attentive and great to talk to, all while mixing drinks and getting things done. It's so nice to go to a place where my husband can get a craft beer on draft and I can order something from a full bar. I got a bourbon "with rocks" and got my drink with a single sphere of ice (picture). Beautiful and unexpected! And it keeps your drink cold without watering it down. So far for food I have only gotten appetizers and burgers. The first time I got chips and guacamole, and a Tahoe burger. Both very good. The chips are home made, and the guac was very fresh and citrus-y. The burger was classic. Today I got the fried ravioli and the spicy burger. Wow. Highly recommend both. I ordered the ravioli to try something new and was not disappointed. The burger (pic) was one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of heat to clear my sinuses and still have flavor. Let me preface this with the fact that I live in Gardnerville and have gone here quite a bit. It used to be an amazing restaurant, the bartenders were on point, the wait staff actually had an idea of what they were supposed to do, and the food was decent. me and a few other locals stopped going there a few months back after the bartender and his fiancée at the time left. That is where Cookd stopped being an enjoyable place to go. to iChat, after months of not stepping into this god awful restaurant we decided to give it a chance, how bad could it be.... HAAAAA When we showed up, there was acouple standing at the front desk, they had a reservation but had been skipped over 4 times... including my table. Great start right. we sat down, asked for drinks and a water and a pizza for a child about 10 minutes in. We didn't see the waitress for another 30 minutes before we were able to order. we asked for water several times and finally had to pour our own... at w point our waitress appeared finally and asked if we wanted more alcohol. the child's pizza took 30 minutes. We also ordered a hangover burger and a turkey burger, which I was excited about. After 45 minutes of not receiving our food we decided we would pay for the drinks and pizza and leave. The waitress literally asked if we wanted to take the burgers off the bill or pay for them? The owners are clearly only about profits, but that makes sense because their parents run an overpriced eatery in Tahoe. This place is much more expensive than any other restaurant in town That has that quality food. I would suggest a night at CVI or jethros instead of Cook'd. Better food, half the price. end of the day... NEVER GO TO COOKD IF YOU ARE NOT BEING FORCED. You WILL regret it. Still trying to figure out how they are in business. read more

We had a wonderful meal. Both dishes were very good, nice flavors and not fatty. It was nice to hear all food is fresh and there isn't a freezer on site. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I hesitate to give 5 stars as it's our first time and we haven't tried enough dishes at this point. Finally tried the new place in town and we were not disappointed! So good! It was so nice to see so many people in here tonight supporting a local business. Our server was fantastic and very accommodating and our food was delicious too. I am nursing a baby with a dairy sensitivity, and our server made sure to talk with me and the cooks to make sure my needs were met. We finally tried this new place. We were greeted immediately by the sweet hostess. The back dining area was very loud. We were celebrating a birthday and asked to sit either in the front or in the atrium where it was less noisy. Looking at the menu dinners were Italian, they had burgers and pizza as well. We ordered a side of garlic bread. 2 of us ordered the Italian entrees and the other 2 ordered burgers. The server, Jacklyn was super quick and friendly. We got our food, mine came while I was gone from the table. I got the wrong burger by accident. She quickly got the correct burger. The food came out pretty fast considering how busy it was. We enjoyed the food a lot. The only problem I had with the food was that the Italian dinner does not include a soup or salad. Being Italian, this is the staple of an Italian meal, even if you offer it for half the cost of the a la cart price since you are getting the dinner. Also, how much can a piece or 2 of garlic bread cost to complete your meal. Get one of the baguette garlic bread, cut it in half and add it to the dish. Presentation would make it look complete. We ordered dessert and shared it to celebrate the birthday. We got the chocolate lasagna. It was a piece of something I described as chocolate mousse. It was an average size, nothing impressive. Rather than saying this is Italian or American, I would consider it bistro food. Good quality. Sourced locally (Bently beef). Burgers. Pizza, and a couple of unusual dishes. The burgers were declared "excellent" by our dining companions. I had the Zoodles (zucchini noodles with sauce) which were excellent. Only thing that might have been nice would have been the inclusion of a small salad as part of this entree. The bowl looked deceptively small, but the dish turned out to be extremely filling! Stuffed portabella mushroom (replacement for beef in the burger section) was also excellent! The addition of pesto makes it a major win. The could use more beers on draft, but I suppose that's a limitation of the size of the bar, and where to put those pesky kegs. As Arnold said, "We'll be back" read more

The food was awesome but the service and ambience was horrible. It could have been because it was lunch time and we were seated in the back bar area. It might be better at dinner time if one is seated up front. A TV and/or music was blasting the whole time and a door into a maintenance area was left open next to our table. We had to look at mops and brooms while we ate. The server may have been overworked but the service was very slow. I won't eat there again unless I hear things have improved. read more

After hearing rave reviews about this newer restaurant by locals in Tahoe my husband & I decided to try it out. The restaurant layout and decor has a very cozy welcoming feel to it. The bar itself is big with ample seating and gambling that my husband took advantage of. We were pleasantly surprise they have numerous tv's/huge projection screen which was a bonus for us avid sports lovers. The menu offered multiple options from American to Italian. We had pizza and a burger which didn't disappoint. Made with fresh ingredients. We had the rum runner's which they offered with different toppings . They were the best rum runners I have had (even over the famous Beacon ones). The best thing was the customer service . From the time we came in we were greeted and seated right away. The server was attentive and friendly even though the place was pretty busy. The owner even came by the tables and greeted us ,checking to ensure we were satisfied . Been coming here for long time and it's usually very good but Father's Day was terrible I understand staffing issues but 40 minutes for drinks just tea for Christ sake, then another hour for appetizers that came over fried to the point of tooth breaking dryness, no silverware until just before we ate, the meals were also fried to death my chicken Parmesan was dry hard and the whole plate had so much garlic I got sick to my stomach the rest of the meals looked like things were thrown on the plate. The banana puddings had lovely hair in them for over 200 bucks I can make overpriced steaks at home. Our server was great but the cook needs training or something. Pretty marginal dinner. We had a party of 5 couples. Rather than welcoming us, the server told us they only accept 4 credit cards to pay for dinner. Okay. The drinks were decent, but the server didn't want to take an order yet. In the end, I had a salad with optional salmon, which spilled over onto the table because the plate was small. My husband's entree was over $20 for a dry penne baked entree, with bacon bits, also served on a mini plate, with no salad or bread or anything else. Could have been better. Overpriced. Over spiced. Over cooked. We ordered takeout, so cannot comment on the ambiance - only the food. My husband ordered the lasagne. For $18 he got a 3 inch by 3 inch square of the lasagne. Nothing else at all: no salad, no bread. One side needed a knife to get through it. I had chicken parmisan, which did not have a typical marinara sauce. It tasted like someone dumped a bunch of red pepper flakes in it. I actually had to add sour cream to it, to make it palatable enough to eat. Nothing at all came with this order as well. Celebrated my husbands birthday last night at Cook'd. There were nine of us. The food was great, fantastic fries and their pizza is the BEST in the Carson Valley. Our server, Ben, was excellent! BEWARE OF THE PICKLES Very Disappointed with the lack of customer service. After reading the reviews we decided to eat there. First of all our waitress was wearing a piece of sheer lace over her mouth and nose as a "mask". To me this is disrespectful to customers to also have to wear masks. It showed that she did not take the safety of customers seriously. When our food arrived, there were pickles on the OG burger even though the menu did not list them. After telling our waitress about the error she started to argue with us and tell us that it came with pickles. We finally convinced her to look at the menu and she then realized the burger should not had pickles but persisted in blaming us and treating us rudely when we asked her to remake it. Later she back to our table and told us "Just so you know, all of the burgers come with pickles." Even thought the menu only shows one burger that is served with pickles. When the new burger came the tomato was the not edible stem part. Would not recommend due to the customer service and disrespect for customers! read more
