Well, my husband told me about a new restaurant that had open in Minden, I said give it a year to get all the quirks out. Well, my husband made me go have dinner there 2 months ago and all I can say is...It's the BEST RESTAURANT in our little town! We eat there 1 to 2 times a week, we are trying to sample everything on the menu, we try new stuff with every visit. Their bruschetta, Fried raviolis, burgers, chicken sandwich and their soups are out rages! The food is so good. We were fortunate enough to meet the owners of the restaurant as we were walking out of the restaurant two days ago, they thanked us for visiting the restaurant, I asked if he was the cook? Went for dinner. had chicken parmigiana, worst I have ever had. Crust was hard as a rock, sauce had a burnt flavor. Pasta they served was from another dish overwhelming of garlic. OH NO! COOK'D restaurant in Minden. Our party came in for dinner and were told that the Owners have a No Mask/No Vax Policy. It wasn't busy so we stayed. Too bad we didn't leave then. Our drinks were served in dirty glasses. We had to flag down our server to correct this. She blamed Bartender. Our appetizers were over cooked and one entrée was all wrong. We had to flag down server again. Server blamed Cook. Dessert was not offered. Our server never checked back, so we had to flag server down again for our check. What happened to Cook'd? Husband and I decided to stay in Minden for a night before heading to Tahoe, we got in late after an 8 hour drive and were both starving. There were not a lot of options in the area so decided to try Cook'd for takeout. We ordered the Calamari, the OG Burger with loaded fries and the Ravioli with Marinara. We were not disappointed. The burger was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The fries were delicious and the calamari is served with marinara for dipping which is the way I like it. The ravioli was flavorful and HUGE. The only thing missing was some fresh lemon to squeeze over the calamari. Oh and their ranch is delicious, too. Overall a good experience. read more

The food at Cook'd is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Unfortunately the service is why we rarely go. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before our waitress came to take our drink order. She had serviced the table next to us 4 times and looked directly at us but still did not take our order. I have eaten at Cook'd several times and have always enjoyed the tasty food and cozy atmosphere. I definitely recommend the spicy pasta and you can't go wrong with their refreshing frozen tumbleweed drink. It's delicious! Recently I needed to have an event catered for 15 people. I called and spoke to Brian who helped create a scrumptious menu that was perfect for the occasion. Our guests enjoyed every bite from the garlic bread and salad to the zucchini pasta and chicken alfredo. I was not only impressed by the quality and amount of food but the price was right too. I've been here a few times and I love this spot! The staff is always on top of everything and the bartender remembered our drink order after one time of visiting! The food here is delicious! Their marinara sauce (gravy) is super flavorful! Pizzas are bomb, chicken parm and artichoke chicken are delicious. I also tried the lasagna and that was amazing. My wife and I took our grandson for dinner and ordered a pizza, 1/2 meat lover and 1/2 cheese. They made the pizza meat, I watched the cook proceeded to pick off the meat with her bare hands then recover the area with cheese. I refused the pizza and was told no problem we will make another. Where I was sitting I could see the entire kitchen and no new pizza was made. It was less then 10 minutes latter the waitress brought to our table the same pizza I had previously refused "so disgusting"! I refused the pizza and asked for my bill. We have been going to cooked at least 4 times per month but after this I will never go back. We were very happily greeted by our server and she was wonderful. It was our first time to the restaurant, as we are from San Diego visiting family. The recommendations made by our server were spot on, the food was amazing! I had the Artichoke Chicken (serious delicious flavors) my wife's pizza and my sons chicken parm were also very good dishes. Cold beer and good food, it cant get any better... but yes it can! The cookie and ice cream (I think it was an oatmeal/peanut butter pizookie) we all get a few bites, or should I say fought over some bites. The atmosphere in the bar area is good, but the food and customer service truly drive this place home for a win! My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to have an early dinner that was practicing cdc guidelines where we felt safe to dine indoors. Cook'd made the cut! It is a fairly large and spread out floor plan and the hostess let us select a great table located several tables away from other customers. This is the second time I ever gave anyone a bad tip. My tipping range 10-50 percent and I base that only how the the waitress/ waiter does her/his job. Lets go to the pro and cons. She got 3% and she only got that cause she was nice when she took our order and gave us the check. Pros: Food whats good Food was cooked fast Cons: My wife found some green vegetable in her soda. Didn't mention anything. Front door is open so there was a lot of flies asked for ranch for my daughters chicken strips never got it paid 3.25 per drink that are served in 12 oz mason jar with half of it with ice. Never got a refill. saw the waitress once during the meal and that when we asked for ranch. appetizers came out with our meals but like i said before food cooked fast. read more

Three stars might be too much. I've tried this place 3 times. We had a company party here and the food was pretty good, I had the Salmon. Then I brought my whole family here for a family reunion dinner, about 25 of us. The staff was super friendly and we understood there was a lot of us so we were patient with the slow service. Everyone's dinner was hit or miss, it seemed the burgers were everyone's favorite. I had the article chicken which was just ok. My cousin got the skirt steak which was a small portion and served with frozen green beans, for that price serve fresh veggies!! The third time I met a business associate for lunch. I got the grilled turkey sandwich, which they barely grilled and then I found myself chewing on paper that they forgot to remove from the cheese. When I alerted the server she immediately grabbed my plate and had them make another one. She should of asked what I wanted to do because the service had already been so slow that I needed to get to a meeting. Second time eating there and the second time very disappointed. Over priced food that lacks passion and taste. Wedge salad was extremely disappointing, middle was browned and low quality. Blue cheese dressing was delicious though. Garlic fries were good. The service was slow and very spotty. Pleasant people were working but they lacked dedication to making sure we were served promptly. Hangover burger was overcooked for medium rare as well as my requested over easy egg. The waiter who also doubled as the bartender lacked the decisiveness to bring the right amount of ketchup and ranch for 5 people that ordered two sides of garlic fries and chicken wings. The fried calamari was just ok. My adult daughter's chicken salad looked pathetic because she ordered a Shrimp salad. They took care of the problem immediately but very little shrimp was included on the salad. My wedge salad was $12 and was a complete joke. The price was extremely high for such a mediocre to low average salad. I tried to give this place a second visit. The first visit was also disappointing because this restaurant completely lacks the passion to bring a good quality meal at a good value. I had the lasagna last visit approximately eight months ago, that was horrible. My wife had an Italian meal as well which was bad. I made the mistake of not saying something the first time to management and I probably should've said something this time. I paid the full price not asking for a discount due to the poor service and low quality food. I hope the management will take this to heart. My guess is that the blame falls on the owners, the management probably is handcuffed in regards to improvement but I may be wrong. This place definitely does not deserve four stars and don't be fooled by the yelp four-star reviews. By the way, this was not a packed Saturday evening even though the 49ers were playing in the NFC conference championship against the Green Bay Packers. They may have lacked staffing since the bartender was partaking in serving the food. I did wait 10 minutes for a beer. And the bartender seems somewhat impatient to listen to our order, maybe he felt it wasn't his job. Although he was a pleasant young man, he needs a class in making a customer want to come back. My Mom and I just went a couple of days ago to this restaurant, and it's open to eat in, which was nice, as many of the places here aren't, or they've gone out of business. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, and I was really impressed by the fact that they had Guiness on tap, that is very rare. Cook'd is a delightful restaurant located Gardnerville. This is a great spot to catch up with friends over great food and drinks. We had rehearsal dinner for my son and new daughter in law here and the staff was wonderful in accommodating our group. The owner was a pleasure to work with and was very helpful in planning this event with me. It was easy to make a reservation and we pre planned our menu ahead of time since they have many choices and the staff gave us great service. We opted for their artisan style pizzas and garden salads. The food was delicious, the staff was great! I looked forward to visiting this restaurant again and trying one of their many other dishes. Finally made it back, they were able to seat us this time. Very few people here, waitress was busy talking at the bar and to the girl in the dish pit to really pay attention to anyone. Took a very long time to get our food. Two burgers we wanted med/rare, they came out more than well done. Very average quality, the price is not reflective of what you think you should get. I don't mind paying for a lot if the food is worth it. We all decided we won't be back. Waited way too long for our check. I've worked in restaurants, I know it was a light day, but you should work harder for better tips when it's slow. Overall, below average for the area. It's a shame too, really was hoping this place would be better. read more

I so wanted to be impressed by this place. The decor is beautiful, and inviting. We walked in and thought maybe they were closed, but eventually a gentleman in flip flops came out of the bar area and sat us. We planned to order the signature " rumrunneresqe" cocktail, but it wasn't frozen in the machine yet. The server offered to bring it over ice, but for $14 it was a small serving of the same bottled mix we have at home. The loaded fries looked great when they arrived, but when we dug in they were sitting in a pool of warm, separated ranch dressing in the bottom of the bowl. Weird! Went here before a concert at CVI. It was great! Ravioli app is delicious. Burgers are really good too. The pasta with spicy sauce is my favorite. The atmosphere is very fun, the service was so friendly. Bryan and Livinia, the owners, were talking to everyone. They are great. Minden is lucky to have this new restaurant. I really want to see this business succeed. The restaurant is a nice change. The couple running the restaurant is nice and working very hard. The main problem is with our time at the restaurant is they need more help. There appeared to be only one wait staff. The front counter was left unattended. People came in and left when there was no one there to greet them. There was not a heavy rush. If there had been a heavy rush, it would have been even worse. The owners were running around trying to fill in. The food tasted fine, but the food was not piping hot. We arrived at 12:15 pm. It took an hour and a half for a simple lunch. The food was warm. I know it is hard to get everything perfect on the first few days. I hope they can get the bugs ironed out. I will give them a few weeks and then try again. read more

This is a very nicely modernly put together new spot. In the pace Tahoe ridge winery was so good location but honestly they have a lot to work on. For one our waitress was not that friendly at first and we had to ask for silverware and napkins after we got our appetizer..the table next to us got up and got those own...the loaded fries appetizer was very good.. highlight of our experience...so to to the cake we ordered pizzas and halfway through I just couldn't get around the fact that my pizza tasted like perfume.. mentioned to my husband who agreed his did as well.. we stopped eating and did mention it to our server at the end who basically made it out to be a joke read more

The waitress had no idea how to open a wine bottle, salads arrived after entrees, service was rather pathetic and it was very loud (both music and other guests) so that we could hardly talk until we got the music turned down, the garlic bread is a joke- 3 small pieces of bread toasted to Melba toast texture with barely any butter on it and no hint of garlic all for $5!!! Salad arrived with no dressing, spicy pasta sauce equals spicy Alfredo sauce. So as a dairy free person, I had to send back and order another meal. Got a sandwich to be quick. It was 2 pcs of turkey, a bunch of cut jalapenos and a squirt of spicy aoli otherwise dry. Yuck. So other than the good company we came with, it was an utter fail. We'll never go back.
