We stopped in at Cook'd for lunch today. I'd definitely give it a thumbs up all the way around. Timely friendly service, very nice atmosphere and my meal more than met the high bar I set for great Italian food. I had the linguine with pesto sauce. i.It was sooo excellent! My business partner and I enjoy going to Cook'd for a nice lunch once or more times per month. They have plenty of options for food sensitive people, and we have never had a disappointing meal. Our server Ginnie was running today to cover a larger than normal lunch crowd, she had help from the bartender, who was also very nice, but this gal has it DOWN, Ginnie made eye contact and with a smile got our drink order turned in while we looked at the menu. She had a room full of people, and I would bet that very few if any were not blown away by how she handled it all with a great attitude and brought our food that was perfect temp and prepared well. If I had a restaurant, I would shamelessly try to steal her. The Artichoke Burger, which we had not tried previously, was cooked exactly right, and was so flavorful. read more

Went last night with my wife and another couple. Except for the cold table by the front door, no ambiance, slow service, small portions, underwhelming food and high prices for what you get, it was great! After an hour of waiting for our food and being told twice that it was on it's way I finally quietly complained to the server. You would have thought I was holding her her up. She became instantly scared and acted like a victim. The next thing we know the manager came out with a posture and demeanor that said "Do I need to kick you out". When we finally got our food it came out a little at a time so we couldn't all eat together. We've been here twice previously but last night is definitely the last time . We are a party of three. Walked in with our masks on in compliance with NV rules. Three employees were at the front counter and very curtly and loudly told us they are a non mask facility. Very uncomfortable moment. We noticed no staff were in compliance. And apparently they have a problem with guests following the state mandate. We then sat at the tables up front instead of bar since we had done things to talk about. I agree with another reviewer. The front seating is just plain boring. No ambiance at all. Two of us ordered try tip sandwich. Our friend had previously ordered it so we thought we knew what to expect. When our food came that sandwich was the most pathetic sandwich I have ever seen. It did not look like our friends sandwich from several months ago at all. It appeared to be on very cheap white store bread. Then, there was one very thin slice of tri-tip on the sandwich. It was hard to even find the one piece of thin meat. So between the bizarre uncomfortable greeting we received about being a non-mask facility and the crappy food we were served, we definitely will not be returning. We were talking to our neighbors tonight about our experience last night and they said they had a similar experience several weeks ago. None of the staff were in compliance with the mask mandate and they also felt that their food was crummy. Bummer because we really wanted to like this place and be regular customers. read more

If you value your hard earned money, don't eat here. We just paid $140 for mediocre food, weak cocktails, and slow service. Yes, it's Friday night. I was expecting slowish service. I was not expecting to pay $20 for a 4 ounce chicken breast with dry noodles that was so small it wouldn't have filled up my 9-year-old. If you want to be fine dining and serve super small portions, fine. But if you have chips and salsa and burgers on your menu, you are not a fine dining establishment. Been coming here for long time and it's usually very good but Father's Day was terrible I understand staffing issues but 40 minutes for drinks just tea for Christ sake, then another hour for appetizers that came over fried to the point of tooth breaking dryness, no silverware until just before we ate, the meals were also fried to death my chicken Parmesan was dry hard and the whole plate had so much garlic I got sick to my stomach the rest of the meals looked like things were thrown on the plate. My buddy got the chicken parmigiana and he was ranting and raving about how simple of a dish it was but how tasteful it was also. This place is spot on with their Italian dishes. Cold food, not the right food, salad half way through dinner which was presented as Ceasar since it had Ceaser dressing but was a house salad with cucumber and tomatoes. People disappeared and didn't come back. Items they forgot were asked for repeatedly. Food was a poor facsimile of Italian. Noisy room. I heard this place is run by the nephew of Caprese in Tahoe using their recipes, most of which are not worth writing home about already. Special food and drinks, packed with flavor and creative use of ingredients. Fresh, yummy and a wonderful ambiance. Just okay. The waitress was awesome! The pizza was soggy (too much cheese) and nothing spectacular about it. The Tumbleweed (Rum Runner) was fairly decent, not worth 16.00, though. I've had cheaper and tastier at the fair, but for a night out, the best in the area. If you're a Rum Runner fan, you know how hard it is to get a good one. The grilled cheese are GREAT! It got to be a bit too rich a few bites in. Disappointments: we were sat by the AC vent by the door, and it was freezing. The section felt like the overflow (which I believe is the purpose) and as if they just moved in. The lighting was weird and bright and cold. They don't offer bread or chips while we wait. On a Friday night, after work, it took awhile to order and get the food. We were starving. Most fine dining provides complimentary pre-appetizers, and I think they aren't necessarily fine-dining but just have fine-dining prices. We absolutely love this place..their "gravy" is very rich and thick full of flavor....we have had so many different things from burgers, to pizza to artichoke chicken and spaghetti and they are all fantastic but my favorite is the Ceasar Salad with their own dressing..if you like garlic this is the salad for you. It might be better at dinner time if one is seated up front. A TV and/or music was blasting the whole time and a door into a maintenance area was left open next to our table. I read the review in the local paper and decided to try this restaurant out, and just the short time that I have been there we had tried to order a Coke they were out of Coke, we tried to order a corona they were out of corona. The dinner itself was a little bit priced on the high side for the amount that you got but it was delicious. Then we went on to dessert we had ordered chocolate lasagna and after 25 minutes of waiting our server came and told us they were out. At that point my daughter and her friend ordered the tiramisu which was decent but it did have alcohol in it, when we asked they said no.... I will definitely try this restaurant again but I will give it a few months to work out the kinks! read more

We have had great experiences both of the times we've been here in the last week or so. I'm someone who likes to sit at the bar and chat with bartenders. Brian, one of the owners, was behind the bar both times and was very attentive and great to talk to, all while mixing drinks and getting things done. It's so nice to go to a place where my husband can get a craft beer on draft and I can order something from a full bar. I got a bourbon "with rocks" and got my drink with a single sphere of ice (picture). Beautiful and unexpected! And it keeps your drink cold without watering it down. So far for food I have only gotten appetizers and burgers. The first time I got chips and guacamole, and a Tahoe burger. Both very good. The chips are home made, and the guac was very fresh and citrus-y. The burger was classic. Today I got the fried ravioli and the spicy burger. Wow. Highly recommend both. I ordered the ravioli to try something new and was not disappointed. The burger (pic) was one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of heat to clear my sinuses and still have flavor. We had a wonderful meal. Both dishes were very good, nice flavors and not fatty. It was nice to hear all food is fresh and there isn't a freezer on site. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I hesitate to give 5 stars as it's our first time and we haven't tried enough dishes at this point. Our server was fantastic and very accommodating and our food was delicious too. Let me preface this with the fact that I live in Gardnerville and have gone here quite a bit. It used to be an amazing restaurant, the bartenders were on point, the wait staff actually had an idea of what they were supposed to do, and the food was decent. me and a few other locals stopped going there a few months back after the bartender and his fiancée at the time left. That is where Cookd stopped being an enjoyable place to go. to iChat, after months of not stepping into this god awful restaurant we decided to give it a chance, how bad could it be.... HAAAAA When we showed up, there was acouple standing at the front desk, they had a reservation but had been skipped over 4 times... including my table. Great start right. we sat down, asked for drinks and a water and a pizza for a child about 10 minutes in. We didn't see the waitress for another 30 minutes before we were able to order. we asked for water several times and finally had to pour our own... at w point our waitress appeared finally and asked if we wanted more alcohol. the child's pizza took 30 minutes. We also ordered a hangover burger and a turkey burger, which I was excited about. After 45 minutes of not receiving our food we decided we would pay for the drinks and pizza and leave. The waitress literally asked if we wanted to take the burgers off the bill or pay for them? The owners are clearly only about profits, but that makes sense because their parents run an overpriced eatery in Tahoe. This place is much more expensive than any other restaurant in town That has that quality food. I would suggest a night at CVI or jethros instead of Cook'd. Better food, half the price. end of the day... NEVER GO TO COOKD IF YOU ARE NOT BEING FORCED. You WILL regret it. Still trying to figure out how they are in business. read more
