    meaty chili

I was excited to try this new business that replaced the old Genoa Country Store. I read that they had a clam chowder that had bacon in it. I have a friend that was really excited to find bacon in clam chowder. Me, I was more interested in the beef chili and the sandwiches. We got there around lunch time and we were the only ones in the place. I ordered a cup of the beef chili ($6.00) and the Spicy Genoa sandwich ($14.00) served on a ciabatta roll. This one seemed like the most substantial sandwich stuffed with Genoa Salami, Soppressata, Ham, Roast Beef, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onions, Peperoncini, Provolone, Calabrian Chili and Red Bell Pepper Mayo, and Italian Dressing, that's a lot in a sandwich! My friend got the bowl of clam chowder ($11.00). Our chowder and chili arrived first. I'll say that was some good chili, lots of meat and stuff. I thought it could have been a little thicker, but that's just me. When my Spicy Genoa sandwich arrived, that was something for sure! That sandwich was piled so high, I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to shove it all in. I did get a good big bite and then took another, the flavors melded so well together, this is a sandwich I would get again, just look at the pictures of this sandwich! Yeah, $14 is kinda high for just a sandwich, but this one is worth it! This is a pretty chill place to come, at least middle of the week, it might be busy on a sunny weekend, but they have lots of nice outdoor seating available. Wine and beer are available too.

I get this place is new. Maybe opened a month ago? Vastly different than the last market, neither better or worse. They are different. The menu options are limited, but that's okay. Ordered a sandwich with side of potato salad. I thought the potato salad was bland. The sandwich was good. Not great. Certainly not having to wait a half hour to get good. I'm going to bet service will get better after working the kinks. Looking forward to trying again in a couple months.

    The goods! Mmmm more plz

FHM WOW!!! Over the top excellent. I loved the atmosphere, the details, the friendly lady on soft serve... chefs kiss. I love being in a place where you can just feel folks poured their heart into making something special for us. Food is delicious, very crave-able. I can't wait to come back.

Their potato salad is my favorite!

Adorable café and market with delicious food! They have a great selection of gourmet market foods, daily specials, and thoughtfully prepared homemade soups, sandwiches, and salads. The potato salad is my favorite!

This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Many years back we looked at at little inexpensive cabin duplex just behind this Safeway - but it was fully occupied by tenants and they looked so happy there with MacDuffs and Safeway nearby we were sure they would never leave. Stores and restaurants and bars nearby is what makes a neighborhood great. You can live in the middle of nowhere and have a nice view but if your isolated I don't think its good unless your a retired senior citizen. I have to give myself 5 or 10 more years until I get to that point. The store offers everything you need - and its cheaper than nearby Whole Foods. What I don't like is the crazy app and digital coupons only. I'm able to do all that if I choose to - but its very unfair to seniors and disabled people and maybe even people who can't afford smart phones. I'm surprised there isn't a lawsuit yet... I remember once being behind a retired senior - probably being cheap out of necessity rather than sport and it not only holds up the line dealing with all this confusion but also seems unfair. I remember on one Seinfeld episode where they were traveling first class on an airplane.... Jerry mentioned all the classes in society...

Plenty of parking, they could have done a better job plowing through. Open 24 hours, thanks. Service - Good, needed to make a pit stop on our long way back to The Bay. Pharmacy: We had a horrendous experience when my significant other had an emergency appendectomy and we had the hospital send the meds here. We waited numerous days for pain meds. My most recent visit was the worst. I arrived at 6PM and even though it's supposed to be open until 8PM the manager yelled at me through the glass and said they were closed. I tried calling after that to check to see if it was ready. The first two times no one answered, but on the third try the manager said my prescriptions would be ready that Thursday. I waited until Friday to be sure and went in and waited in line for more than a half-hour. When I got to the counter, the manager said they hadn't filled them yet, per usual, and to stand next to an end cap for a half hour and wait for them. A half hour later he gave me one prescription and said they couldn't fill the other because they couldn't get it. I'm reasonably sure he was lying as he's lied about everything else. Even though I get my groceries at Smith's, I'm getting my prescriptions filled elsewhere from here on. Spending hours trying to get a prescription filled and being lied to constantly by the pharmacist in the process would be self-abuse if I kept doing it.

It's also one of the few places where it's not uncommon to find equestrian women picking up groceries, still wearing dusty western boots with spurs, before heading home. That always make me smile. Discerning grocery shoppers are accommodated as well. Organic fruits, vegetables, pastured eggs, some grass-fed beef, grass-fed butter, wild caught and processed in the USA fish are available.
