I ordered tires in the tire center and they said it will be in the following day. The next day I called and they said they would call me as soon as it arrived. I called at 6pm and they said the tires arrived and been waiting for me but now it's 6 and they need reschedule for tomorrow. Not a problem at this point but they seem very unorganized... I get it. I worked retail for a long time so I understand things happen. The following day I come in for appointment and they said the tires are here but the paper was send to Carson city... just waiting for the manager to override this so we can help you.... I waited 1 hour and still no help... the older man said the manager knows but it busy. I waited another 30 minutes and still no answer.... I looked for the manager in the store and found her! I reminded her that the nice older man was waiting for her approval and there a line in the tire center- She was rude! She said it's not her priority and she'll get there when she does.... I told her he's been waiting for awhile and I said thank you my appointment was over an hour ago .... She was rude Again and said move out of the costumer service line. No " I'm sorry and I will help" no please set out of the line and I will get to you soon". Nothing! Just rude, nasty , older big woman barking orders . Shame !!! This lady needs to learn to desolate herself and the situation. She needs training on customer service. In my opinion she's too old and grumpy to be working anyway. Ordered an online order this week, and told us Tuesday it was delayed and asked if they could deliver it Wednesday. Well, Wednesday at 5pm and still no order. App says delayed. I called the store and after many attempts to actually speak with someone, they put me back on hold for over 15 minutes. After 37 minutes total with trying to cancel my order, I was able to contact someone from the service who was able to help me with the order. the local store is awful. customer service has gone to hell. read more

DO NOT USE HOME DELIVERY!!! I've done a weekly grocery pickup for years and have been very satisfied with their pickup service. We decided to use home delivery this week as my wife just returned from the hospital...huge mistake. $87 worth of groceries were missing from our $150 order. Walmart uses 3rd party drivers whom they have no control over to make their deliveries and if there's a problem, the store cannot help you replace the missing items, nor can they help you with a refund. You must call another 800 number for any assistance. I spent 2 hours getting a refund on two very long phone calls. If something like this doesn't bother you, by all means take a chance. I know I will never again go through this horrible experience. read more

Gayle and I have now lived in Genoa since October 2020. We pass this Walmart often on the way to and from either the Douglas County Animal Shelter or the Recycle Center. Occasionally we stop for one thing or another and only if we're in the neighborhood. Yesterday's stop was for mailing envelopes and the time before that was for red wine for cooking. Tried to buy $300 worth of headphones. Asked 3 employees to unlock cabinet. Each said "person is on the way". Spent 20+ minutes for help. Turned out person with the keys ("Courtnie") had been chit chatting the whole time with one of the people I'd a asked for help. Cannot understand why Walmart can't/won't figure out a better system to serve customers and protect merchandise -- especially when it gives the key responsibility to the laziest, dumbest and least qualified employee in the store. Walmart + I rate as a 1, but if I could give a negative rating it would be a negative 5. One would think that after failing to deliver in the timeframe agreed upon they would offer a gift card. The other order was shown to have been delivered, but the picture of the delivery was of the delivery person's car; not my porch. It took 3 weeks to get my refund. My poor fur baby needed her food. Bought a brand new vacume cleaner today, best one they had. Paid $400 for it. Get home use it one time, and check the Walmart app to make sure my receipt is in there so I can keep track of the warranty I bought. The app says it's $199 dollars if I buy it online! The staff there are great, very helpful. The grocery part of the store, always has fresh vegetables and fruit. You get some really good deals from the clearance aisle. I ordered cat litter, it was so nice, just pulling up and the girls loading it into the car. read more

I think this is the closest Walmart to Tahoe so you see a lot of people from California in the parking lot which may be a bad or good thing to you, depending on who is reading this. Watch Out!! You could be paying more for product then you should be. This should be considered fraud! This location has a pricing issue. If you take anything away from this review please download the Walmart app and double check their products in store especially the so called "clearance sticker prices" I was recently at this location checking out the "clearance" aisle which we all know is a great place to find all kinds of goodies at a great discount that Walmart marks down to make room for other products BUT I noticed some pricing discrepancy between in-store "clearance" and online regular priced items. I noticed a cute tie dyed hammock on "clearance" for $25.00 but it had no original price on the tag like their tags normally have so you could see what the original cost was and at what the clearance price currently is so you know how much you're saving. If like me as a shopper you like to gauge if it's worth buying. When I opened my Walmart app to scan the product is popped up as $24.88 regular price online listed it as "sold and shipped by Walmart". I always double check the shipping details as Walmart allows outside parties to ship products and they are not sold by Walmart. This item was though to which I found it very odd that online it's $24.88 regular price but in-store it's $25.00 on clearance?? I even scanned a different color and checked that price which was $24.96 still priced cheaper at a regular price online. Hopefully Walmart can get this under control because it seem like false advertising and board-line if not fraud. Making claims that product is marked at clearance pricing when in fact it actually marked up higher than what you have it listed online. I get many will say well it's only off by .12 cents who cares. Might be so but it's the principle and as the consumers we need to hold big companies like this accountable. Tricking customers into buying products that are marked with clearance tags on the marked clearance aisles just for the product to NOT be marked at clearance price but is actually higher than their online regular retail price. This review is for the tire center only!!! So I am not really a Walmart shopper, I usually avoid them as much as possible. Unfortunately for me I was only one hour into my 9 hour drive home from a weekend at Lake Tahoe when I got a flat tire. I was able to stop on the side of the rode and get the spare on but then what the heck could I do?? I was in the middle of nowhere on a Sunday. Nothing nearby was opened and my spare wasn't going to make it super far. After an online search it was discovered that Walmart was a little less then 40 miles from where I was. I made it to Walmart and was happy to find I was the only one needing tire service. The man helping me was very nice and got my new tire on in record time. read more

When I come here I find the store is clean and everything looks stocked. I don't see many employees walking around unless I come late at night and they are stocking. I've never been asked if I need help finding anything. Prices are good but the most annoying thing about Walmart is how many cash register lanes they have versus how many are actually open which even on a busy night maybe 1 or 2. Just recently they removed some of the cash register lanes to add more self registers so now they want us consumers to check ourselves out which means less people they need to hire. This upsets me to I try and go purchase my groceries at Smith's, Raley or Grocery Outlet even though I know I'll spend a bit more. read more

This Walmart is the worst I have ever been to, I had an issue with the rude manager they had working on 12/3/2022 at 2:00 pm, let's start with I have been there no less than 100 times for the auto service for my fleet of vehicles, on this date, I had asked for full service oil change (not the pit crew). I received a texted saying my vehicle was done. I returned to the auto shop and the same young man who checked my vehicle in was at the counter along with the store manager. I said I'm here to get my vehicle as well as buy some oil, an air filter plus an ink cartridge for my printer, he cashed me out and off I went. I then looked under the hood and saw my washer fluid was low, my brake fluid was low and my power steering fluid was completely empty. I returned to the counter and advised the manager as he was at the one standing there. He immediately said we never check brakes or power steering fluid ( he later said he never said power steering fluid just brake fluid) however that is not the case but even if that be the case, this is where the issue starts, he then asked ME TO GO OUTSIDE AND TELL THE TECH TO DO WHAT EVER I HAD AN ISSUE WITH, he is the manager and that is absolutely his job not mine. i then did as he said and the older man in the shop came out as I had my hood up and told me we do not ever check brake or power steering fluid and we have not for 5 years I informed him they used to but he said I could buy fluid inside so I left. I then pulled up on the Walmart web sight what is included in a full service (not pit crew) oil change and it clearly states CHECK AND FILL power steering but by now I already filled it myself. Now the next issue, 2 hours later I get a call from Walmart saying I left without paying for my oil change? I said I told you I'm here to pick up my vehicle plus pay for the extra oil and ink and you cashed me out so I then went back to my office and got my receipt and yes he did not charge me for an oil change, I told him I would be back to pay and speak to the manager about the power steering fluid was absolutely to have been added. I walked in and to my surprise the same manager that was rude and said to go tell his people to do there job was standing by the front door so I went to him to show him on the phone that they did not properly service my vehicle and that he needed to be aware of what is included, once again he rudely stated he never said power steering fluid he said we do not check brake fluid only and again that is not correct but what about the power steering, he said he talked to the tech (he should have done that when I advised my power steering was empty) From here I advised I did not receive a full service oil change as my power steering was empty, my washer fluid was not full and 1 worse my tire pressures where not set (all part of a full service oil change So after returning because the cashier did not charge me that I would pay for a pit crew oil change as they do not check any fluids on that oil change and it is $10 cheaper. He then raised his voice and said no you will not you will leave and have a nice day. Hmmmmm that is how your managers handle there issues I will not return plus contact the regional manager. Beware they do not do a full service oil change and often they do not even open the auto shop I assume due to lack of help but regardless it's an issue. Have the manager do oil changes if you need to but to just open the shop at your option is really not an option. read more

If i could, i would give zero stars. Tammy, the manager, is not fit to be a manager. As my sister in law was checking out, the self check out charged her card but showed it was declined. She showed the manager that it had indeed charged her account, not once did she say she was going to leave with the groceries and was on the phone with my Mother in Law. She was simply trying to figure out a solution. Tammy immediately was rude and demanded she get off the phone as she "didnt have to be on it". She kept saying that she is not allowed to leave and that she needs to pay for it again. Her attitude from the start was disgusting. We live 8 minutes away from this Walmart and would rather make the drive to the one near Carson. She was not trying to figure out a solution as to why it happened, or anything. During our South Lake Tahoe vacation, the wife and I decided to take a look at what the other side of the mountains had to offer, in this case on the Nevada side. After taking in the sights along both California and Nevada State Highways 88 (psst... they are the same road), we headed south along US 395 to see if there was anything worth seeing in Minden or Gardnerville. Apparently we'd have to go as far as Topaz Lake before seeing anything of note. We opted not to do that. But we did need to get some better towels for the Tahoe beach. So, upon turning around at the south end of Gardnerville, we opted to go into the Super Walmart. Now, I must tell you, I realize I'm in no way unusual, but I really don't care for this store - it essentially represents America at its worst - bloated people loading up on cheap crap from China, employees that appear to be on leave from prison, and a disturbing amount of right-wing propaganda floating about. Typically the store in general looks as if it's about to fall apart. But I'll say that this outlet seemed ok. Perhaps it was because it is brand spanking new. Perhaps it's because the air conditioning works. Perhaps it was because the parking lot wasn't smack full of RVs. And maybe it's because the one employee we dealt with seemed to be happy to be alive. But for once we walked out of a Walmart not wanting to immediately take a shower. The towels? Of course they didn't last very long... read more

Of all the Walmart stores I've frequented in several states, this is actually the nicest one of all. Not only is it relatively well stocked, with an excellent pharmacy and automotive services onsite, other services such as Subway, a medical clinic, and a salon are present inside. The array of customers who frequent here is an excellent cross-section of contemporary life and the store appeals to all income levels. It's also one of the few places where it's not uncommon to find equestrian women picking up groceries, still wearing dusty western boots with spurs, before heading home. That always make me smile. Discerning grocery shoppers are accommodated as well. Organic fruits, vegetables, pastured eggs, some grass-fed beef, grass-fed butter, wild caught and processed in the USA fish are available. Sure, it's not perfect and you have to look for these items, but they are there. Unlike other locations, "The People of Walmart" make an infrequent appearance here. The general atmosphere is very positive. Staff is uniformly friendly and have been exceptionally helpful when posed with a question. Parking lot is huge and modified for icy/snowy conditions. read more

This Walmart was fully stocked and overall clean. They lost a star because of the employees was a bit rude but other than that this location will have everything you need. Please note that if your staying at one of the resorts or casinos about 30 min drive away and you just so happen to need to come to this Walmart, get gas over here!! We order an air fryer from Walmart online. We had no idea it was a 3rd party merchant. It was not delivered as fedex reported. I was treated poorly by FedEx and so I called Walmart. Their representative informed me that the merchant was a fraud merchant and they were no longer doing business with them. I was put on hold for 44 minute while I was transferred to a "special department" to get my money back. I was by this department that I needed to wait 48 before I could ask for my money back because"that was their policy". I ask the lady how that made any sense because Walmart was telling me this was a fraud merchant. The lady hung up on me. I then dialed another Walmart customer service and was told the same thing. I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for 40 minutes. That an old customer service trick when the supervisor doesn't want to talk to you. Walmart still has my money. I will never shop at Walmart again. They will never be comparable to Amazon. read more

Love this store. We lived in Carson for three years and used Topsy lane when we lived there, we loathed it. But this Gardnerville location is nice, always well stocked and never packed. On the note of stocking though, only downside is the isles are ALWAYS taken by stocking carts. Also I don't like how all of a sudden a lot of the makeup isle stuff Is locked up like this is LA or something. I've only seen that in places like Long Beach, to see it here in cowboy country was shocking and inconvenient as you have to find someone and then wait for them to find the person with keys to get it. But then they place a 3.00 item in a lock box you have to take to front counter. Terribly inconvenient. So I Just stopped shopping beauty all together there and stick to online. Other than that the staff is always wonderful. Produce always fresh, and I don't I've ever run into an item not in stock. Update: the toilet paper isn't in stock. Lol Also, kudos for being a responsible business and taking care that people are behaving outside of your business and following the governors emergency guidelines during this time. Went to the deli about 345p Friday, 9/20/18. One girl is on a break and the other is cleaning the slicer. I am now witness to the cleaner lady and the break lady discussing breaks and slicer cleaning. While waiting for service the break lady informs the slicer cleaning lady that assisting the customer is the priority not cleaning the slicer. The slicer cleaner earlier made it very apparent she was unhappy with her place in life and her current situation. We've all got problems honey. Just dummy up and give me the Olive Loaf. read more
