As soon as we parked, we were greeted by the friendly "grandpa" who welcomed us in. Once inside, a younger gentleman got us started and did an excellent job explaining everything in detail, answering questions, and making sure everyone felt comfortable before we began. The setup is fantastic. Your rod, bait, and bucket are all provided, and the facility is clean and well maintained. Fish are priced by the length of your catch, and there is no catch-and-release. They even have a smaller pond with larger fish if you're looking for more of a challenge. The fish were biting! In just about two hours, our group caught 10 fish. There are picnic tables, benches, and a hand-washing sink, making it easy to relax and clean up afterward. When you're done fishing, they offer several processing options at very reasonable prices. For just $2 per fish, they'll clean it, and they also offer filleting, vacuum sealing, and even fun photo opportunities with your catch. The customer service throughout the entire experience was outstanding. A couple tips: there's very little shade, so definitely bring sunscreen, and the mosquitoes can be active, so bug spray is a good idea. If you're visiting South Lake Tahoe, this is an absolute must-do activity for families, couples, or groups of friends. The staff genuinely made the experience memorable. There are 2 small parking lots. The one closest to the entrance opens exactly at 10am. The other one seems like its always open. They have everything you need to fish for trout. They supply the rod, bait (worms and salmon eggs) bucket, nets, a metal rod to hit the fish on the head, and a hook release tool that helps take the hook out of the fishes mouth. They give you instructions on how to safely handle the fish. We arrived at 10, and we started to get a little frustrated when we realized it was past 11am and we had no fish yet. We just needed to figure out the technique. We finally ended up taking out the worm bait and casting it back out rather than letting it sit. That seems to attract the trout better. Once we figured it out, we caught 3 big fish by 1230. We had our 3yr old and 11mo old with us. We brought our kids wagon to push them around in. Our 3yr old had so much fun. There are 2 separate ponds. One has smaller trout, the other has large trout. If you don't mind going all out and you dont have a limit on spending, its worth fishing on the larger fish side. We caught 3 fish and the total came out to $211. But we knew it would be expensive, dont let that scare you. If you don't want to spend that much, just fish on the small fish side. At the end, they only charge you for the size of each fish, and $10 for the bucket of items. They also clean the fish for you and put them on a stick so you can take a family photo together. They will also offer to put the fish on ice in a bag. We took our fish to McDuffs afterwards. They tell you theres a minimum wait of 2hrs, but they ended up getting us in within 30mns. Great place to eat! We'll be coming back here to fish again for sure! We're already talking about coming back next weekend.

You'll drive a little out of the way to get to him, as he works from a 15 by 30 foot bungalow by his home, way off the beaten path. This also keeps his overhead very very low, and that is good for the customer bottom line. He's a reloading buff and is quite knowledgeable in that area. As for firearms sales realize you are going to seeing mostly vintage old west guns; revolvers, duck shotguns, and deer rifles. Not a bad thing; just an observation. The guns I've given him to work on are more tactical in nature, but no problems diagnosing issues and putting back together. Ammo prices seem to be quite reasonable here, though selection depends on what he gets into his shop, which is a smattering of various calibers. Overall, I recommend Dan highly and trust his work over the shops along the main drag that absolutely hammer you on pricing.

The owner had three customers in the store, including myself, with about 15 minutes left until close. He helped everyone out and still had time to suggest several fishing spots in the area. I picked up a few flies I didn't really need, but helping the local shops is important. I also found out he sells online too so I'll keep him in mind when I need something. Last thing he said was, "stop in next time your in the area and I can tell you where the fish are biting!" Thank you!!!

On my recent visit the staff was super kind and all wanted to pet my dog. Some staff had treats ready. Even though they were in the process of moving the entire ammo department, they still helped me find what I needed. Their website has a massive selection so if it's not in the store they can get it shipped there. Any store that allows me to bring my dog inside always gets a better review. But I figured out how much I would get for a private sale less fees on background check it would be much better for me to deal with sportsman's warehouse. When I arrived, Greg was there he checked out a gun which was practically brand new and had all the original paperwork, he gave me a top line price, which was more than what I expected, and the processor was very quick. Paul H And Chris took care of all the paperwork and within about 35 minutes I was out the door with cash in hand. I was advised if I had done a trade-in they would've been able to give me more money but quite frankly I'm very happy with what they offered. Sportsman's warehouse has a huge inventory of every kind of weapons and ammunition you could ever imagine. They are all so knowledgeable. They know their stuff. This store has everything from weapons to clothing to camping goods hunting goods even down to the best snacks you can imagine. While I'm at it, Debbie, who I believe is the software supervisor and handles all the clothes and shoes and things like that is a wonderful customer service person. The minute you walk in the door someone says hello, and they are extremely helpful. I highly recommend them.
