Located conveniently near the convention center and walkable from those nearby hotels. Food - The food was ok, but not memorable. Wagyu Cheeseburger: 3/5. Decent amount of fries, but the burger was not really flavorful. I could have used more seasoning on the patties or more secret sauce. Peanut Butter Pretzel Pie: 4/5. My only concern was that the pretzels were soggy. I would still order it again! If you love peanut butter, you'll love this pie. Service - Server was nice, but seemed to be a little distracted by people he knew that were dining there. It's a little slow, so I don't recommend this place if you're in a hurry.
We stopped by after the Indians game for a drink and a bite to eat while traffic died down. The service was great! The spicy guac was really tasty and fresh, but not at all spicy in my opinion. The burnt ends had a great sauce on them but were pretty dry. The signature old fashioned was great. And then the espresso martini really lacked. I knew it was going to be bad when it didn't even have any beans on it. Would come back again to try a full meal and some different drinks
Server was so weird, she was very hot and she seemed disheveled. She was kind but concerning. You can't order dinner items at lunch apparently a different chef so he can't do dinner items. Salmon was good. But nothing to write home about.
Food was great! My frat brother and I had the smoked wings, lump crab hushpuppies, and fries. The wings were tossed in a dry rub so it was well seasoned, and they were whole wings too! So it was a good portion size. The hushpuppies were phenomenal with their aioli and I wish I had another plate! They were stuffed with more crab than expected. Lastly I had the Peach Cobbler cocktail - I was in heaven and this is perfect for the fall or upcoming summer. This will always be my go-to. The service was awesome too! Bonnie was knowledgeable of the restaurant's current hits with customers and she gave awesome recommendations. She was outgoing with other patrons and gave great service. The ambiance gives business casual or dressed up casual. As there was a sorority convention in town (specifically downtown) most customers were dressed nice. Dim light atmosphere with positive vibes for sure. Great for a date night or hanging with a group of friends for a night out!
I've stayed here at the Marriott several times but this was the first time I ate at Connor's kitchen. The Service and food were excellent! I dined during lunch service so I ordered off of the lunch menu. My server was Andrew and he was super attentive. I immediately ordered the lump crab hush puppies and they were delicious, I definitely recommend! I also ordered the wagyu Burger in my goodness, It was worth every calorie! I really like that they toast the bun and the cheese was cheesin!!! I look forward to trying other things off of the menu as well as the dinner menu.
We stopped in to Conner's while in Indianapolis for a multi day conference. It is very near the capital building and the convention center in the downtown area. What I really liked about it is there is a large and very comfortable covered patio in the front facing the street. This was great to gather upon, during the waning hours of the day with colleagues to review all the things that had taken place. Fantastic menu with handcrafted cocktails, and delicious shareable appetizers. I did review the menu but didn't have a regular meal at Conners. Everything looked well prepared on the other guest tables. It is not standard pub food, instead it is several notches up. All in all, I would say that this is a fantastic place to unwind at the end of the day with friends or coworkers.
My first visit here, for Sunday brunch. There were only a few diners here when we arrived. The Colts were playing in Berlin at 9:30 am, and we thought it would be a good opportunity to watch the game while enjoying brunch. We ordered a few brunch entrées to share. The lemon buttermilk pancakes were doughy and undercooked in the middle. The edges were good. My friend ordered eggs, potatoes, and bacon. My favorite was the roasted potatoes. They were nicely seasoned and perfectly roasted. Our server was rather indifferent and seemed to be annoyed. Not annoyed with us but just seemed to be annoyed in general. Maybe he was just having a bad morning, but the service was not what I had expected to experience. The restaurant is attractive and we were able to see several tvs easily so we could watch the Colts game. We stayed for the first half while we were eating brunch then left for another nearby bar to watch the second half.
Best brisket hash by far!! Most restaurants that I've ordered hash from served diced potatoes and shredded brisket. But this brisket was a cut above! The brisket was sliced thick, smokey flavor and served with whole redskin potatoes that were so, so good. If you want a great brunch, add Connor's Kitchen to your list.
My group of 6 visited on a Wednesday night. We had 6:30p reservations, but this large restaurant was fairly empty. Earlier in the day our team mate dialed to change our reservation from 5 people to 6 and was asked if we'd be paying with one check for the larger party. Odd. Visually the restaurant makes a nice first impression with its tall ceiling, bar, and lighting. Good thing I took in the initial scene because we were sat in a corner of the room and I stared at the wall for the remainder of the night. Most of our group ordered old fashioned cocktails and the Waygu cheeseburger with fries. Other than the burger standing tall, nothing stood out about either item. After eating hotel food for 3 days you'd think this burger would've been the star of the week. Our server was friendly and our food arrived quickly. However, nothing kept us there for another round of drinks and we took our dollars to other restaurant. While I'd return if this was someone's pick for lunch or dinner, I wouldn't make the effort on my own or recommend Conner's.
My family and I came here on a Saturday for brunch. We wish there more lunch options available on the menu. The food was pretty good, but I expected better just because of all the high Google reviews. We ordered the crab hush puppies which had a generous amount of crab in them and paired really well with the dipping sauce. My husband and dad got the wagyu burger which came with a generous amount of fries and you could add an egg or thick slice of bacon for extra cost. The shrimp and grits had a nice spicy flavor to them. The main item that was disappointing to me was the fish tacos. The fish was not seasoned well and was pretty flavorless with the other taco toppings. Service was friendly and efficient. Our waitress came over to check on us pretty regularly. Bathrooms were clean and all the booths were incredibly spacious. You can definitely come here with larger parties pretty comfortably. The food was a bit on the pricey side.
We stopped in during an IU game to meet up with some friends and grab a few burgers, and overall had a good experience. The place was busy (expected with the game going on!), and even with the crowd our server did a good job staying attentive. Service was a little slower, but totally understandable given how busy they were. The food was definitely the highlight -- everyone at our table ordered burgers and fries, and they were fantastic. They also accommodated us when a couple of us wanted to split a burger; they handled it without any issue. Drinks were just okay. nothing bad, but nothing standout either. I've definitely had better and worse elsewhere. The only downside was how tight the seating felt. The tables are very close together, and with the place full, it was hard to move around or even get in and out of your seat. They also don't allow standing room, so if you don't have a table, you're kind of out of luck. Still, solid food, good service, and a lively atmosphere -- especially if you're in the mood to enjoy a game with friends. We'd go back again!
I have to say the bruschetta toast has to the the most flavorful I've ever had. Our waiter Hunter was very attentive and he provided exceptional service. The bar seating has plenty of TVs so you can watch the game and the rest of the restaurant is quiet enough to be able to have a good conversation. We will definitely be back read more

I've been wanting to try Conner's for a while and decided to stop by for dinner with a friend. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we visited and we were seated right away. They have a full bar, with several tv's playing different sporting events. For my meal, I decided to go with the southern fried chicken. I was surprised when the waitress said it comes with four pieces of chicken, so depending on your appetite you can definitely share with someone. It comes with coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and hot honey drizzle for the chicken. I substituted the mashed potatoes for fries. Overall, the food was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had the right amount of crunch. I did want a little more spice than what the hot honey drizzle had to offer so I asked the waitress for hot sauce. She brought out Tabasco sauce and Cholula. I wasn't surprised, but not what I wanted. If you're going to serve "southern" fried chicken, you should have the proper hot sauce to serve with it. That won't deter me from visiting again though! I'll definitely be visiting again when it's warmer to take advantage of the outdoor seating and to try their other menu options. read more

I have recently stayed at the Marriott and decided to give Conner's Kitchen a try. I found the crab hush puppies to be very flavorful for an appetizer. Their beer selection is pretty good and the bartender was gracious enough to walk me thru his entire selection that night (Thank you man - the six foot strawberry blonde ale was delicious) For the main course I decided on wagyu steak fritters and the steak came out the right temperature and very flavorful. The french fries could use a second look by the chef. They were to dry and little too hard for my taste and didn't support the steak at all. read more

We came race weekend and it was busy after the parade. Got the quinoa and vegetable chili. It was delicious esp accompanied with the avocado salad. Only negative was the tortilla chips were stale which took away from the experience Cohort loved his fish tacos read more

Food is just as great as I last remember it a year ago! Celebrated a birthday with my friend and we picked Conner's to try some of our favorite apps and entrees! The hush puppies, Brussels sprout and burrata are a 10/10! For our entrees we got the chicken enchiladas and vegan chili ! Everything cooked to perfection!!! Will be back to celebrate future birthdays! Thank you to Chef Pete & Mike for making us feel at home! Connor was an attentive server and the host was very welcoming! read more

If you're stuck at the convention center with no other options, then this works. We were told we could not sit outside if we wanted served food, then saw several tables outside be served food while we were there. The food was okay and the service was quick. Nothing to call home about but it's nice when you need a break from the convention center. Would be higher stars if the wait staff could get together on their service rules. read more

Was looking for a restaurant close to the Indy canal that was reasonably priced and had good food. I think we found it! My friends and I walked up to see that there was an outdoor waiting (drinking?) area that had several glass fireplaces, these were giving off a decent amount of warmth. Would be a great area to sit in on a chilly day. Inside the service was pleasant and I was excited to find that I got free hush puppies from checking in on Yelp! We also got deviled eggs for appetizers and then for the main course I had the Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas and my friends both got the Smoked Pork Cubano. I very much enjoyed the enchiladas and I tried a friends fry (delightfully crispy), my friends really enjoyed their sandwiches as well. The restaurant is inside the Downtown Marriott. I planned to go out but was just too exhausted so came down for a bite. My Server Ellie was a SUPERSTAR ! She was very polite, great energy (even though late 9:30pm), quick, and very intuitive about what I would want to choose as an entree. This was my second review but my first time actually dining in. The Old-fashion was also very well appointed. Lovely comforting meal after a long day at work! The ambiance is nice too... nice music (not too loud). I'll be back when working. read more

We went for Devour Indy and was pleasantly surprised by the food and service. We went during lunch and enjoyed our experience. We sat near the window to enjoy the sun. Strong 4 here on the food and overall experience. Located in the Marriott so easy access if you're staying there as I was. Get right to the food. I ordered the fried chicken. Yes I did. Don't judge. I did swap out the mashed potatoes for the green beans. The meal was great. Coleslaw was crisp and not overdressed. The star was the chicken. Damn good. Crispy all the way around and still very juicy. Came with 4 pieces so basically half a bird. The hot honey drizzle was perfect and glad it was served on the side so I could control the portion. The only nit was the green beans. They were good but on the salty side- that coupled with the chicken put the salt level a tad high. Now I swapped out the mashed for the beans so can't really complain. I ordered a red wine and the bartender and staff were friendly and attentive. Would go back for sure and apparently need to try the wagu burger which the bar keep raved about. read more
After a rough night of sleep and a long day in class the last thing I wanted to do was walk to eat. But since I wasn't driving and didn't want to spend on an Uber walk I must. This place came up as a relatively short walk from my hotel. Inside of a Marriott, you don't expect to find such a fabulous dining option. But fabulous it is. Signature Old Fashioned: elijah craig small batch, vanilla demerara, black walnut bitters. Very well balanced. The perfect antidote to a long day and tired feet and brain. Shrimp and Grits: thick-cut bacon, charred corn, white cheddar grits, jalapeno, blistered tomato. The creole flavor was excellent. There was something about the grits were perhaps a bit too gritty? I felt like I was occasionally chewing on overcooked char or husk, or something just on the edge of 'it shouldn't be in my plate.' The one thing that absolutely shouldn't have been in my plate is the shrimp veins. The shrimp felt a bit overcooked - and this was confirmed by the very crispy vein that I pulled out of my mouth after biting into the first shrimp. Thereafter I was careful to cut the shrimp to check for veins. 4 of the 6-7 nice sized shrimp were not deveined. Isn't this cooking 101? Even my 11 year old knows that we always take off the black poopy thread on the back of the shrimp. Blistered tomatoes-- I usually dislike cooked tomatoes but the sweet pop of tomato juice actually worked as a nice foil against the Creole flavors. Charred corn added a nice textural element and another flavor to the overall bite. The crostinis were a nice touch but really this dish didn't need anything to help it along. I might even revisit my loyalty to Hilton the next time I'm in town if I can just walk down from my hotel room and eat here. read more

After a long drive, I reached my destination with tiredness and exhaustion. It was late to go out for dinner. I would like to have a light dinner and retire to bed early. They have a nice menu to select from. The crab hush puppies were tasty to stimulate your appetite. The fish taco was enough to fill your stomach. It was little bland . This was a very yummy restaurant. It is in the Marriott and they will valet your car for free for two hours which is nice! The vibes were really cool and modern and the hotel was super nice. We sat at the bar with Candy and she was wonderful. We got the nachos and pretzel pie. I recommend it! We got the half size of nachos and it was HUGE. We split it as a meal between two people so keep that in mind if you order it. read more

This place is terrific. I had simply put one of the best steaks I have ever had. I went with a party of 5, my customers. The food was as good as other steakhouses in Indy NO MATTER THE PRICE. While our server was an older lady and we were never offered desert or after dinner drinks (She dropped the check so she could go home) her service was good, but the delivered food was all without question amazing. This place really ALMOST got five stars, which I hardly ever give. Had the end of meal service been better, five stars would have been called for. Seriously, do not overlook this place. read more

First, we were lucky enough to have Amanda (Asst Manager) taking care of us. She was friendly, fast and fun! Made our experience phenomenal! The salmo (pictured) was perfectly prepared and the quinoa was also delicious! Oh and by the way, Amanda made the best Old Fashioned I've had on this trip. The back bar area where we sat felt cozy and did not at all feel as we were right next to the hotel's lobby. All in all, a great time was had by my friends and I. Highly recommended!! read more

We came in for our first visit during sports playoffs downtown. The restaurant was very busy and quite loud. We were, however, seated promptly and the service was exemplary. I had fried chicken and with the sides, I ended up sharing 2 pieces of the 4 with my family. My son would have still been hungry if I hadn't shared, so I would say some portions were bigger than others. I would have given 5 stars here had it not been for the noise. We were staying in the Marriott hotel and got brunch here. I had the lil piggy corn cake stack and it was amazing!! Would highly recommend, wish I could eat it all the time. Others got the chicken and waffles and smoked brisket hash both were delicious! I would recommend this place for brunch even if not staying at the hotel, the bar area is cute and the food was incredible!! I don't have high expectations for a typical in-hotel restaurant but this one did not disappoint! I also got the $17 bottle of champagne deal which was great! read more

I'm a big fan of this place. I've been on multiple occasions and the food is always good and consistent. Yes, it is a hotel restaurant, but you wouldn't be able to tell. It's connected to the Indianapolis Marriott downtown but has its own separate entrance and regularly draws a crowd independent of its hotel guests for both brunch and dinner. On warmer days there are fire pits on the patio with nice seating and good people watching. They are also dog-friendly. National Margarita day featured $2 blood orange margaritas that were awesome! Must try: crab hushpuppies, cornbread app, smoked wings. I'm also a big fan of their salads (try the kale!) read more
I have a soft spot in my heart for this Conner's Kitchen because we hosted our wedding reception in their beautiful bar area in 2019. My husband and I decided it would be great to revisit once a year on our anniversary, but the pandemic shot that down the last few years. Now they are back in action we made our visit and had a good experience. This place is dimly lit and can be used in a multitude of settings like date night, quick lunch, guys watching the game. Unfortunately during our visit the bar was understaffed so we could not sit there, 3 of the fav cocktails were out of commision, but our server did the best she could to share details about what was available. Overall our experience was good and Pinka, our server, was very sweet. She even brought us the butter cream pie to celebrate. read more

Service was fine, not sure if it was because of events going downtown, but took about 15 minutes before our server welcomed us or brought us water. Food was delicious, the burger was cooked medium, but great flavor and manageable size, with a large order of fries. While staying at the Marriott, my husband and I had breakfast twice. Both times, our waiter, Prakash, was awesome. He was attentive and remembered our order the second day. That day I tried lemon blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were large and excellent with lemon syrup. I recommend them. I shared with my husband and still had leftovers. The first night of our stay, I went back for dinner. I sat in the bar area and had an excellent waiter, Darrian. He was friendly and gave me excellent advice. I had the Tea Time cocktail. It was the best cocktail I have ever had! It was green tea with bourbon, coconut, pineapple, and a spiced pair reduction. It was sweet, but not too sweet. Perfection. Darrian agreed I should try the Shrimp and Grits. It did not disappoint. It was delicious! It is offered on the dinner menu and Saturday/Sunday brunch menu. I will definitely get them for dinner again, the next time we stay downtown. Darrian was very personable and I did not feel awkward sitting alone reading a good book.
