Everything was amazing from the service to the seating to the food ! Absolutely loved it . Def try

Came back to try Committee's brunch since I organized a group of about 8 of us and the space definitely caters well to large groups and great photos. I thought the service was fine, nothing outstanding, I'm really glad they were able to bill us individually so we didn't have to go through the trouble of splitting the bill. They have a decent selection of cocktails for brunch including the classic mimosa, but I opted for the stamos giz fizz which was like a boozy smoothie/milkshake but a little less heavy, since their was greek yogurt in it. For food, I got the tsoureki toast half size which was plenty, super fluffy french toast with berries and whipped cream. The shakshouka which serves 2 or more people was super tasty and very large so it could easily be split between three people. The menu is diverse, but makes sure to concentrate on it's greek theme so many of the dishes have feta cheese, greek yogurt, honey etc. read more

Went in for a drink without any expectations and boy was it good!! Do not miss the watermelon salad at any cost. Tried couple of things, smaller portions. It's divided into cold and hot food. Take some time with the menu if you aren't familiar with Greek food. I even tried the octopus and it wasn't really that scary but not my thing. Can't emphasize on the watermelon salad! Soooo disappointing! Food was horrible. 4 of us had dinner last night and paid over $400. last night. Not sure how these ratings are this high for Committee. Pretty space, nice vibe - but food was terrible. Our apps and entrees were incredibly salty, the lamb chops were 90% fat, the brine the olives were in tasted awful and the portions small. My Cosmopolitan (not cheap) barely was 3 oz and looked like it was poured in a shot glass. Reconsider. read more

This place was phenomenal! The food was 5/5, ambiance 5/5 and service was a 4/5 (hence the 4 star). We ordered the Trio dip, Feta, zucchini chips and the sweet potato crisp salad. Committee - Feta, trio dip, zucchini chips - Mediterranean Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Went here for lunch on a friends recommendation and I loved the atmosphere from the moment I walked in. Its bright, well decorated and very modern. I've never been to a Mediterranean restaurant with this aesthetic so that was a cool change. We ordered the feta app and everyone who sets foot in here should do the same. It's a good sized square of feta covered in sesame seeds, baked or fried and then drizzled in honey. The cheese is crazy good on pita or even on its own, no judgements. For my main I had the falafel sandwich, which came out of the kitchen incredibly quick. It was a good sandwich, but nothing special. If I were to go back I'd want to try something a little more unique like the Spanokopita Grilled Cheese read more

High-end Greek-inspired restaurant serving up tapas-style plates, inventive cocktails, and more. The ambiance is very intentionally crafted and feels sleek, modern, and a little eclectic. As is true with most tapas-style restaurants, this place can be a little overpriced. However, the food and drinks are usually pretty solid. I was especially delighted with the assorted meat plate we ordered, Poikilia Kreaton ($98). It came with souvlaki, lamb kebab, chicken souvlaki, loukaniko, bifteki served with patates tiganites, grilled pita, tyrokafteri, and tzatziki. The meats were exploding with flavor and the other snacks it came with were a nice touch. We split it between four people and had a lot left over. Excellent value in my opinion. Plus, for anyone who enjoys sour beers, I highly recommend the passionfruit gose from Two Roads - it's bright, tart, and delicious. read more

Hands down one of the coolest looking spaces I have visited in a while (and that's saying a lot). Rustic chic adorned with live succulents, modern industrial lighting, exposed structure, and raw/reclaimed wood. The space alone is worth frequenting this bar. Committee offered true craft cocktails and great service at the bar. We did not get to sample any of the famed Mediterranean fare but based on other reviews it would not disappoint. read more

Committee - Tropic Thunder - Mediterranean Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

This place reminds me of Greece! There is no restaurant in NYC or Boston that I have been to that makes me travel back to there. If you want a fantastically authentic experience of the Greek cuisine, this is by far the best place to get it. Absolute must here: Grilled Octopus!!!!! The all time classic! At Committee, it comes with white beans, Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes. Greeks love to eat boiled greens: Okra Horiatiki is a great tasting experience which includes Feta, tomato, cucumber, red onions, Kalamata olives, Greek olive oil, okra crisps.. superbly healthy and delicious. The Souvlaki option comes with lamb! It doesn't get better Drinks: Ouzo (will get to your head) and rakomelo will make sure you have a good night. If you're looking for a great drink, ask a bartender! They were more than happy to ask me what I was in the mood for, and went from there! read more

Excellent Greek food and beverages. Discovered I love a liquor that's distilled from tree sap! The lamb skewers and dips were all outstanding, perfect cook and seasoning. Excellent drinks, terrific food and service. Great atmosphere too. Been there twice now, loved it!

The ambiance and decor is quite nice. The vibe is energetic and there's good buzz. The buzz is typical of any new restaurant in Boston. The kitchen could use a lot of help. A lot of help! While some dishes were tasty, others were just awful. I had the worst grilled octopus that I've ever had in my life. It was cold and rubbery. We told them we didn't want the dish, and they insisted on making another horrible rendition. Also, they charged us for it. We didn't want it! It was disgusting (puke). Overall, the menu is overpriced. Plan to have a snack beforehand because you are likely not going to leave here full. If your plan is to have drinks only, then be prepared to drop a pretty penny. I had a short glass cocktail which was half full with ice. Therefore, I had a short glass cocktail which was only 1/4 full. I consider this to be very pricey for a $14 drink. It was tasty, but certainly not worth it. It's pretty cheap. Another reason to eat beforehand? The service is slow and sloppy. The servers and the wait staff need better and more training. Unfortunately, our seating situation was screwed up a couple of times. The hostess simply didn't have the seating situation under control. Our food and drinks arrived very slowly, and our server was not the most attentive. Management could also use a lot of help. They have attempted to squash my online reviews because they don't want publicity of their kitchen blunders and unprofessional service. Sorry guys, accept the fact that you are not perfect. Be open to customer feedback. It's the only way you'll get better. You've consistently shown that you do not care for any constructive feedback. Treat your customers fairly and they will come back. This place is a ripoff in my opinion. If I could give 1.5 stars my review would be more accurate. read more

Cute atmosphere but the brunch there is kind of gross. Greek omelette was burnt and their fresh squeezed orange juice was sour because they used gross oranges. So its not worth going here for brunch. First time having Greek meze's and was blown away by how delicious everything was. Came here for a company dinner and got the opportunity to try plenty of the dishes. For starters, every table gets pita bread with a super tasty side of orange stuff (Greek name, don't remember) and I think out of the 10-11 dishes I tried, there was 1 that I thought was okay (octopus). HIGHLY recommend: Shrimp Skordo, (really wished I took 4 orders home) Fried Calamari, (comes with delicious aioli) Lobster Kataifi, (basically fried lobster) Short Ribs Stifado, (so tender, juicy, and falls right apart.) Chicken Skewers Tzatziki Trio, (I hate regular Tzatziki but the beet and winter squash variations that come on this dish were amazing) Artichoke Moussaka Also had a drink called "Take it Sloe" which got me tipsy really fast. If you're a fan of gin, earthy, and citrus flavors then you'll really this drink. (Like I did) Dessert was bomb too. Get the baklava cheesecake and the really long dessert name that starts with a "G". Skip the one with chocolate and ice cream FINALLY, service was on point. Never a moment where I didn't have water, pita, or felt like we were being ignored. Overall, perfect meal. read more

I came by committee during its first week of opening early in the week. I really liked the decor of this place, it's trendy while being kind of rustic. The style of food here is tapas so It's good for groups, they also have a good amount of communal tables. The bar is gorgeous and very well designed. Add this to your list of date spots on the Waterfront. Where this place fell a little short for me was the value (3 people cost $270, no one left drunk or full) and the wait on the food on a pretty slow night. The vibe here was still great though, I think coming here later in the evening would be the sweet spot and sticking to cocktails and going light on food would be your best bet. I was impressed with their cocktail program, the Smokeshow was probably my favorite. Shrimp - this was good but not great. After the shrimp were de-shelled you were left with a few normal sized shrimp. A+ on presentation though. Meat Pie - this was just alright. Really expected something in Filo dough, it was more like a meat wrap. Halloumi Cheese - this was a meal highlight I would definitely recommend getting this. Pretty traditional preparation, lightly pan fried in ouzo. Chicken Souvlaki - this was also another highlight, but it was essentially chicken on a stick in a honey marinade. Special note to the fellas. After a couple drinks I decided break the seal and use the restroom. I walked in and immediately thought I was in the ladies room because there was not a single urinal. Horrified I ran out and double checked. First restroom in memory that didn't have a urinal in the restroom. So no guys, you didn't accidentally walk into the ladies room. I wonder if this was by design or if the contractors mistakenly built two ladies rooms. read more

I wanted to love this place so much but the only thing that's keeping this above 2 stars is the beautiful atmosphere. The food is entirely overpriced for what it is. Pay attention to the top of the menu which tells you whether the dish is from the hot column or the cold column. There's so much to look at the and the whole page is so busy and crowded that we didn't actually notice this at first and, as such, were surprised (read: disappointed) by several dishes. As everyone notes, the octopus is a must. It is suuuuper tender. Truly wonderful. The rest of dish though--meh. Way too sour; not surprising since it was saturated in olives. The sun dried tomatoes really could have stood on their own here and didn't need the extra sourness. [edit: now that I look at other peoples' pics of the dish, i realize we got the left over scraps from other people's octopus....we didn't have a single full length tentacle on our plate...] We saw the cheese stuffed pepper on yelp and decided to try it. Never thought I would say this, but too much cheese. And it was just...too cold. I think it would have been so much better if, instead, the pepper was oozing warm gooeyness. My friend really enjoyed the artichoke moussaka, i could have gone without. Again, at this point I was on overdrive with sourness/tartness and would have liked something more savory. We split one of the deserts...it was nice, but forgettable. The service was also meh. It was this weird feeling of being overwhelmed with unwelcome attention (bus boys/random servers coming by constantly and trying to get plates out of the way) versus not being able to grab our actual server for long periods at a time. For instance, the plate of octopus appeared almost immediately, while the rest of the meal took forever (to the point where we were like "are they waiting for us to finish this dish to clear the plate before they bring anything else??"). My chair was also bumped several times by different members of the wait staff (it's not like the seating is crowded), and I noticed the same thing with the bar area--servers nearly running guests over who were trying to get out of their seats [with no apology]. Finally, the wine list really needs some work. There was a page long list of Greek wines with zero description. Since my server could hardly suggest something Pinot Noir-like, i doubt they would actually be helpful in selecting a bottle. read more

Food was ok and service at the table was fine. but the bath room doors are DANGEROUS. the doors to the bathrooms have a 4 inch projected sharpe metal "W" or "M" symbol and the doors are on a tight spring. so, causally walking out of the men's room caused a 1.5 inch bleading gash in my shoulder. when I showed the closest waiter the cut moments later, and still in shock, while it was bleeding he shrugged his shoulders and did nothing. then said he would tell his manager. -after 10 more minutes at the table we paid the bill and left never to receive any apologies or response from a single soul. If it wasn't for the service, I'd give this place a 6. First of all the ambiance was so beautiful. It was very welcoming, relaxing, earthy, modern. The bathroom wall was decorated with toilet paper rolls. So cool. The cocktail choices were great. They have a big community cocktAil which will run you 110 bucks but it's a huge bowl to share and apparently very strong...next time. My friend got a cocktail and requested it to be served in a pineapple Moscow mule mug which they happily did. The food was incredible. The saganaki is a warm feta encrusted in sesame seeds and slathered in honey. The cauliflower was a mini head, steamed with some mustard seeds and then had melted cheese on top. The salmon tartare was done perfectly and had a ton of flavor. The zucchini chips....omg...you must try them. They were perfectly crispy and the dipping sauce was tasty as hell. We also got braised short ribs and lamb. The service in the other hand was somewhat nonexistent. Our server was friendly, but it took them about 15 minutes to get to our table, we saw another group get served and greeted immediately after they were Sat. That was a bit dissapointig but overall the place was fantastic and I won't let one mediocre service experience deter me from coming back! read more

Great food. Great service. So why only 4 stars? The hostess really created a bad first impression to the point where I was thinking of leaving even before we got started. With a reservation and a sea of empty tables, she made us wait for a table. Then she wanted to put is in literally the worst table in the restaurant - way in the back near the bathrooms. I asked for a seat by the windows, but she said that they were already spoken for. We were reseated to a better table, but strangely the tables by the windows were open for the duration of our meal. Kind of a bummer feel to the restaurant that's the polar opposite of the food and service experience. read more

What an impressive first impression and first trip to seaport committee has left me with. Shiny and new [opening on Monday] the first week and month of any spot, no matter how trained and experienced the staff, is very, VERY challenging; However, Committee did not let this on one bit. Having had just about enough of the event crowd we were with, my companion and I glided our way past the communal style long tables to the back bar area. The build-out is fantastic; themed with copper shipyard trinkets such as pipe-lights commemorative of 'Das Boot' and wooden box ceilings that reminded me of moving 'liquor store style', the space gives the patron a warm, open, modern, yet instantly classic vibe, easily blending the various features for a instant upscale and trendy feel. The bartender, a bright, sleek, young man, glided over to us to take our drink orders and provide us with their smallplates menus. I had already tasted two of their handcrafted cocktails from my event earlier, a Blood Orange Old Fashioned that was perfectly summer sweet and the Cuban Affair of Madera Rum, lime, vanilla syrup and a balsamic vinegar for a fresh balance, but this time I was hankering for something new. He came back with a large bowl glass of pink with dried blood orange slices decorating the rim. Now, I personally look sideways at anything too pink, however, when addressed with concern, he revealed to me that the color derived from their HOMEMADE grenadine! How I love it! The menu, Greek in style, was tough to choose from but we finally settled on the following: Zucchini crisps - They are delightfully breaded and incredibly thin, served with a sweet onion labne of which I absolutely could not get enough. [I dipped everything else in it] Yogurt Marinated Chicken skewers - a generous piece of meat over a spicy honey sauce, some lemon to the side and of course some garnish. Souvlaki - Marinated lamb, rigani and lemon. This was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. While, I wish there was more, the combination of the three left me plenty satisfied in both taste and appetite. If you noticed how well each of the dishes was spiced, you might have thought the spices were being harvested right out of the garden boxes that are placed on each of the long tables as you walk through the door. I could not help to pull one of my mother's moves, and rub my fresh washed hands in them. Who needs hand sanitizers when you have herbs, right? [and they smell better] As we finished out dishes, my companion was lightly tapped on the shoulder by what turned out to be one of the managers and friends [yes no matter where you go the restaurant community is small, so I'm not surprised - I do like dating bartenders]. While chitchatting she let us know the plans for an OUTDOOR patio that will be opening at the earliest convenience so the warming atmosphere can be extended into the cool summer harbor breeze. What a fantastic finish to a day that turned out a little shaky. Congratulations on an amazing kick off to what promises to be a successful summer and hopefully a permanent location at the Fanpier. read more

What an amazing new place! I LOVE THIS BUILDOUT!!! what a gorgeous and cool space. The modern sleek look with historical accents is perfectly executed! I am a Bartender that worked for 20 years and the bar is perfectly setup!! Love it!! I have a new favorite drink THE SMOKEHOUSE!!! a gorgeous smoke infused bourbon cocktail garnished with BACON!!! TOTAL WIN BABY!!! The Cuban affair is good as well!! Ok onto food, I had the following: Dolmades = grape leaves were tender but not limp, the rice was cooked and spiced but not mushy! very very good Sardine Plaki= Fresh sardines, beautiful clean light natural flavor with a hint of bite and tang to it! very very good Calamari= this is a stuffed grilled squid body, it is tender, and flavorful, Very clean clear flavors, I could have eaten 10 of these lol Yogurt marinated chicken skewers = simply perfect, super tender, packed with flavor, I challenge you to eat just one serving! You wont be able to do it!! Trust me!! Salt Roasted Beets= I've always been a fan of beets but most people cook the flavor out of them. Not here these are perfectly roasted, and seasoned may have been the best beets I've ever had ( sorry mom! ) Finally service: Ok I sat at the bar and was greeted by a cool hip looking young lady with an awesome hairdo and smile to match! I let her know I am an old bar guy, Common Ground, Federalist, Abe and Louies, and let her know I was looking to be WOWED! She squinted her beautiful eyes and said, " Is this a challenge?" I said, " Absolutely!!" That's when she made me THE SMOKEHOUSE! Moments later I proposed marriage!! lol Seriously though, if you like Bourbon or at least want to try it you have to have this cocktail ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!! Its really that good, and I am a drink Snob!! My food came out quite quickly and the cold was served cold, the hot was served hot. My Bartender was always there to smile, shake cocktails in front of me ( thank you for that!! BIG FAN! ) refill waters and make great suggestions. Ok the Scene: listen I consider myself to be a confident man, but the people in this place were so beautiful that I had to look over my shoulder for the movie cameras! Seriously cool scene, you had Middle Eastern Royalty/Models, African models, European Models, American Models, ok ok I think you got the hint! I made the mistake of making a reservation for a meetup of about ten people at 2:30 p.m. on a Sunday so I'm taking partial responsibility for what follows. Apparently, Committee not only replaces their regular menu with the brunch menu at this time but they're not even really serving, according to our waiter. This was confusing because the hostess directed us to our table and mentioned nothing about the restaurant not serving food. Then our waiter cheerfully announced that the place wasn't serving and that they tried to get in touch with me to let me know. My bad. Nevertheless, they served us because what restaurant is going to turn down ten hungry people willing to spend their money at your business? There were people at the bar and other tables so I guess the exception they made is a pretty liberal one. Still, avoid the place on Sunday until dinner. The waiters were professional and diligent with the drinks while we waited for our food. I ordered the lamb souvlaki. Souvlaki isn't the litmus test for Greek food but it's a pretty good indication of the restaurant's abilities. The dish is basically skewered meat usually served with potatoes or pita. This particular souvlaki was offered with tzatziki sauce because it was a starter. Tzatziki is strained yogurt flavored with olive oil, salt, garlic, and a couple of herbs or seasoning of choice. It tastes exactly what it sounds like and looks like less smooth hummus. The food looked great. It consisted of two skewers with a nice black-brown char and the visible granulation of a spice rub. When I bit into it, though, the first flavor that hit me was salt. It could have used a little less salt, especially given the yogurt dip. Salt aside, the flavor was okay and the lamb was a little overcooked but not to an objectionable level. Miss K was co-hosting the meetup with me and ordered a chicken salad. Her chicken was way better than my lamb. It was tender, juicy, and the marinade on the chicken tasted a lot better than the rub on my lamb. Recently, Miss K seems to be making a habit of ordering the better dishes on the menus of the places we visit. The same thing happened at Thelonious Monkfish, where I ended up eating more of her food than the dishes I ordered. Still, a Greek restaurant should be able to deliver a much more flavorful souvlaki than what I had. But don't judge Committee too harshly. Their regular menu was being saved for the dinner rush and this might have had a lot to do with my experience. The restaurant itself is a study in interior decorating and the staff are possibly the most friendly and understanding bunch I've experienced in Boston so far. I made sure to thank them for accommodating us and saving me from embarrassment in front of my guests. read more

I came back to this restaurant for the first time in three years and it was outstanding! The drinks were unique and balanced (loved the committee mule 2.0, and the tropic nose dive). The food was fun and delicious (and had a wide array of vegetarian options). The horiatiki was fresh, the samosas savory and spicy and lastly the spanakopita manti were rich and satisfying. Boston/Cambridge have a few fantastic Mediterranean restaurants but Committee with its solid Mediterranean menu with an Indian flare has earned its place at the table and on my repeat dining list. read more

The atmosphere is great, it's uniquely decorated with lots of natural wood and interesting finishes (pennies and grout are their bathroom floor patterns, which I loved). We sat outside, which was fabulous because it was the ideal night for outdoor dining. They give you these complimentary toasted, olive oil-brushed pita wedges with house-made hummus, carrot and celery sticks which is nice. Decent wine selection and somewhat decent wine pours, but predictably expensive. I've only come here for drinks so I wasn't aware this was a Greek place because we didn't try the eats. I love Greek food, and I would give them 5 stars right off the bat for the octopus, which was probably the most delicious preparation I've ever had. Succulent, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth perfect; it comes with a robust and flavorful tomato sauce that you can't stop eating. Those complimentary pita wedges are perfect to dip in the sauce. That was definitely the highlight. However, the rest of the food tasted as if it had been prepared by a different chef entirely. It was mediocre, and that's because everything else we ate except the octopus was in dire need of an introduction to the salt shaker. We ordered the patates, which are fried potatoes, and the zucchini crisps, which are also fried, plus the lamb chops and calamari (also fried). Salt was totally MIA, we had to ask for a shaker so that we could get some flavor. Based on the prices, I'm disappointed that they don't salt their food properly, that's a basic rule of good cooking. I would return here for drinks, atmosphere and tentacles, but that's it. read more

Overall very flat. I'd rather get a souvlaki plate at a random diner somewhere, or gyro from Gyro City or Zo for my Greek fix. The stuffed squid was extraordinarily disappointing: it lacked flavor (I couldn't even tell what it was stuffed with) and was very chewy. If you are craving some tasty tentacles, go across the street to Gather. The lamb was under-salted in both lamb dishes we tried, and it was void of any other typical spice flavor (such as rosemary, oregano, thyme, or sage). The Greek meatballs were the best thing we tasted, but weren't anything special; certainly not worth a trip back for. The space itself was gorgeous, and there was quite the scene in the bar area - and by "scene", I mean a bunch of sl*tty women dressed to the nines mooching off whomever looked their way. Service was pleasant, but not very informative. There was zero explanation of the meze style ordering, no recommendations on how much to order for three people, no suggestions, and no descriptions (some of the ingredients are pretty foreign to an average diner). I'd come back for the bar only, to sample one of their signature cocktails (we only had wine while we were there) and people watch. I do get a feeling they are trying to make their bar area have a lounge/club-like atmosphere (think Empire next door), and if that's the case - I will not be back. Tip - Note that most of the reviews and pictures to this point mention the pennies on the bathroom floor.... think for a second, if that's a restaurant's biggest accomplishment - do you really want to spend your hard-earned money eating here? read more

Brunch at Committee is our FAV. The shaksuka (for two) can't be beat, and everything else we've tried, like the little dip trio, is also awesome. I miss the feta and apricot cheese plate-- hopefully it will make a return someday. The coffee is wonderful and I'm such a sucker for the beautiful presentation, in gorgeously glazed ceramics brought to the table on a gold Turkish coffee tray. I have been to Committee a total of three times this summer and early fall and every single time has been a horrible experience. This establishment has been racially discriminatory toward my friend and I on each occasion. One unpleasant experience we had, my friend and I were having drinks at the bar. Close to closing time they asked us to leave due to the establishment closing in 20 minutes. We looked across the bar and there were still about 8 or so other guests sitting. Two staff approached us again and told us we had to leave and stood on each side us until we finished our drinks. We still had 10 minutes until closing. There were no staff standing near the guests on the other side of the bar. My friend and I are both Black women. On the second occasion a few weeks later, men invited us to their table. We sat at their table with them for a while. One male was aggressively hitting on my friend, and she declined his advances. He had staff come and remove us from the table. All the people in the party at the table were White except for my friend and I. Just last weekend on 9/15 a friend of ours wanted to start her birthday night off at Committee. When we arrived, our friend told the bouncers: one Black staff and one White staff that there were 7 of us in the party. They let us start walking to enter and after our 5 White friends went through the door the White staff stopped us (my Black friend and I (also Black)) and did not let us enter with our party. I complained to my friend that our friend explicitly said there was 7 of us and they stopped letting us in assuming that the two Black women at the end were not part of the group of 7. After overhearing me getting upset, the Black male staff member let us in. On top of that when the Birthday girl and I went to the bar, they took her drink order. I was standing next to her, waiting to order next. A man comes from behind me and after my friend orders her drink the bar tender skipped me and asked the man behind me for his drink. The man behind me said he just needed a menu. I said excuse me to the bar tender. The bar tender gave the man a menu and then walked around to the other side of the bar to take someone else's order, ignoring me. My experiences at this establishment have been highly upsetting each time to the point where I left almost in tears on the last occasion. read more
