Went here for an early dinner with a friend and will absolutely be back. Following other reviewers, we started with the tzatziki trio. I was a little nervous because one was supposed to be spicy but I ended up liking that one the best, but all three were fantastic. They came with the most perfectly soft and toasty pitas. We also ordered the Mango Melitzanosalata, which I would not order again. The fried bread it came with was dense and dry and the dip was just average. Next came the star of the show, the tyropita. It was so good we debated ordering a second. DO NOT MISS THIS. 10/10. We also ordered the beets and the zucchini crisps for an infusion of vegetables and both were delicious. Finally, we ordered the keftedakia, which I would probably not order again because they were much spicier than I prefer and were a little dry, though the flavor was good. I would love to go back to try some other dishes. For dessert we ordered the baklava cheesecake which was really good but by that point I was too full to properly enjoy it. The atmosphere is industrial and though we went early so it was not crowded, the tables appeared very close together and the hightops are separated only by little plants on a long table so I can see it getting very noisy when it's busy. I also do not care for being that close to other patrons. The service was great, both at the bar before we were seated and the waitstaff. read more

Committee - Mediterranean Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

WOW!!! Another credit to Boston in how it has changed for the better, way better. Bless the soul of Mayor Thomas Menino who really started the seaport / waterfront development. There was about seven of us guys reunited. We all grew up together as kids and I was lucky to see so many over the time I was visiting. We sat in the spacious lounge area of Committee and drank, ate, and were very merry! So happy to see each other, catch up and talk trash. Went through a lot of food and wine. At least 5 bottles of some delicious Greek reds. Then food was flowing - Octopus, shrimp skordo, Spanakopita Trout, Artichoke Moussaka, some other items, and of course...Poikilia Kreaton which is a combo of grilled meats: souvlaki, lamb kebab, chicken souvlaki, loukaniko, bifteki served with patates tiganites, grilled pita, tyrokafteri, and tzatziki. Great service and very spacious! read more

Review is for brunch Maybe best brunch in city Great vibe Excellent drinks Awesome food (lamb + eggs = wow!) Will definitely return read more

committee is my absolute favorite brunch spot in boston!! every single dish is immaculate but the spanakopita grilled cheese is nothing like i've had before. the sourdough is sliced to the perfect thickness, the feta/sheep cheese/spinach filling is bursting with umami flavor, and the dunk into the tomato soup has the perfect sweet and sour kick. the restaurant itself is beautiful- rustic but modern with a breezy, open feel. the service is exceptional and our waitress was very attentive. make sure to make a reservation at least 3 weeks in advance! read more

Committee - Feta, Spanakopita Grilled Cheese, Greek Yogurt Pancakes, Lamb Souvlaki - Mediterranean Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Amazing restaurant with friendly and attentive service. Great atmosphere. Our waiter Patricio was knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. The grilled octopus, Okra Horiatiki and the blistered sheshito peppers were all well prepared. One dish I had for the first time ever was the Dakota. I highly recommend this if you're looking to try something new. Overall a great restaurant especially if you like tapas style dishes. read more

Ive been here before for the great and unique cocktails. Probably best for small groups when it comes to food though because it's a typical small plates place for a pretty penny. HOWEVER they have larger plate options that are great for 5+ people. We got the meat one and it was bomb. I suggest the tsatski and anything with the lamb, oh man so good. I also LOVED the mushroom fritter and the meat lovers in my party said it was better than most of the meat items available. My favorite meat was definitely either the sausage or the lamb patty. The coconut tsatski was also amazing.. but if you don't like the taste of coconut you should avoid. read more

Attended a college graduation dinner party for 13 last night, and it was a fantastic evening! We even had a private room, which made our party feet special and not have to compete with the noise from other customers. The entire night was outstanding! Thank you for the attentive and above and beyond service from Clay and his associates! The food was delicious and mouthwatering. I also loved the rustic and modern furnishings that aided the welcoming ambiance. We had a pre-chosen menu, but I remember fondly the mini crab bites, lamb souvlaki, beef tenderloin, pork belly bao, fried chicken dish, and Mediterranean tomato salad. My friends and husband raved about the tender and tasty lamb chops and devoured them in minutes. I definitely recommend this restaurant 100%. They made a dinner become a lifetime memory! read more

FOOD: Unremarkable. Very average and forgettable - 2 stars. SERVICE: Weirdly arrogant for what it is. C'mon guys ... you're a mid-level restaurant in a happening neighborhood. Be friendly(ier). AMBIANCE: Like the lobby of a contemporary Ian Schrager hotel ... probably recommendable for a corporate 'event' ...but not more than an unexpected midweek evening out, for adequate food. Bottom line: Neither here nor there. And ... what's with the name ....? read more

Lovely area; we managed to get outdoor seating and the view / feel was so refreshing. Definitely a popular spot for brunch, so would highly recommend booking a couple weeks in advance. They were very understanding when commuting took longer than expected, and the waitstaff was really helpful when deciding between menu items and giving recommendations based on our preferences. Foodwise, we ordered: Tzatziki Trio - The dips for this change semi-regularly it seems; we received tzatziki with eggplant, beet (a lovely pink color!), and spicy feta (?) cheese. Was a lovely dish for the table, as everyone had different favorites; would highly recommend as a conversation starter! Zucchini Crisps - Very crispy while still feeling light (my friend compared the feeling to that of tempura vegetables). Paired really well with the given dip, wish there was more for the amount of chips served! Souvlaki - Great lamb and very refreshing original tzatziki; probably one of the highlights of the meal. The lamb is served around medium well and is incredibly tender for souvlaki. Shakshouka - Pretty par for the course, but that's not at all bad when it comes to shakshouka! Large amount of sauce / eggs / cheese given, and lots of pita as well. generally, their pita is very well-made, as it stayed fluffy throughout the entire meal. Drinkwise, we ordered: Frozen rosé (frosé) - Was very sweet and light and lovely, definitely one to recommend. Spritz - Was the "What's Shakin'" cocktail of the day. Not too sure on the components, but was a great take on a spritz with a very fruity, sweet aftertaste. Half-naked and Instafamous - My friend ordered this with the understanding that it'd be a sour and dry drink. This may normally be true, but somehow, it seems hers somehow was missing the tequila; she swore she tasted no alcohol and that the drink tasted solely of grapefruit juice. Not sure what happened, unfortunately we didn't flag this down in time to resolve this well. There was a receipt mixup following our meal with another table, but our waiter swiftly resolved it. Overall, a good experience, but I think we caught Committee at a particularly tumultuous time which led to some potential gaffs. read more

Best find! Was looking for brunch on the way to Logan and could not have chosen a better spot. The feta looked amazing but we didn't order due to an allergy. Egg dishes were perfectly cooked, service incredible and ambiance top notch. I'll coming back and cannot wait to try dinner on my next trip! read more

Me and my friends favorite spot in Seaport !!!! We came for dinner and we had a fabulous time Amazing food and ambiance Everyone is so hospitable from the servers to the manager You gotta go try there new spring menu that launched this week ... You won't regret coming here at any time read more

I've passed by Committee for a few times everytime I'm around Seaport area for either work or leisure, and for some reason have always thought of the place as more of a coffee shop. When I found out they serve Greek cuisine with a Contemporary American twist, I got genuinely curious to try and overall I had a great experience! We got here for a Saturday brunch and ordered a few items off the menu: Spanakopita Grilled Cheese (which was excellent - and I actually liked it better than traditional version!) has a nice addition of sauteed spinach and classic tomato soup. We also ordered the Zucchini chips, which was light and great for starter. A visit to a Greek-inspired joint won't be complete without sampling their Mezze - and Committee's had an interesting twist of pineapple which we quite enjoyed. Interiors-wise, the place has a great industrial vibe. It's very laidback, casual, yet classy enough to send a message as one of the eateries to watch in Seaport area. Great for big groups as well as they have plenty of long, communal style seating throughout the space! read more

This was our first time here and I have to say we were impressed! Everything we ordered was very good - my favorite was the ceviche. We also shared the trio of dips, the feta, zucchini crisps, patates, 2 bao gyros, & the brizola between 4 people which was definitely enough to feed us all. In addition, they had great service, ambiance, and selection of cocktails, making the night memorable. read more

Great food and service. Only bummer is the reservation system. I was kind of surprised to hear them asking for my credit card details while making a reservation. They would charge me $25 if my party doesnt show up. Thats really new for me. When we arrived for brunch, the entire indoor seating was empty and some of the outdoor seating was empty as well. We wanted to sit outside but they said that only indoor seating is possible. The drinks and food were really nice, specially the Shakshouka was spicy and yummy. We also ordered pancakes and waffles, both of them were delicious too. read more

If you're looking for a slightly upscale Greek restaurant with a great atmosphere - this is your spot. I came here for Sunday brunch with a large group (10 people) and they were very accommodating. They take reservations, and were fully prepared with a table in the private room near the back of the restaurant. Service was terrific. To start, they bring you complimentary cranberry bread and fig dip - a fun twist on your normal bread and butter. The best dishes were definitely the shakshouka and the baklava oatmeal, and the zucchini crisps were great for sharing. I wouldn't recommend the Spanikopita grilled cheese - it was good, but nothing special! Tasted like a normal grilled cheese and tomato soup combo, and the tomato soup was thicker than I like it to be. All of the drinks were creative and delicious. read more

Great decor and food. Made a reservation online (recommended) and it was very busy on a Monday night. I loved the trio dip appetizer! The land skewers, halibut, and chicken on pita were all amazing! We also chose the cauliflower option and it was probably the best cauliflower dish I have had. Don't forget to get a Greek beer also! Very good. Would highly recommend coming here. read more

Some issues with outdoor seating reservations due to rain, but ultimately we were able to be seated. The server was very nice! That being said, we ordered a lot of plates for sharing and definitely didn't need as much as we ordered. Each order was essentially a meal of its own for us. The grilled cheese was very interesting and tart. The bao gyro was my favorite. All of it was very rich though so I wouldn't eat a lot of any one item. read more

A fun place for dinner in the Seaport! The outdoor seating was great for a summer evening and the inside also has a nice atmosphere with modern decor. The drinks and food were pretty good. We got the seasonal frozen cocktail and Skinny Jeans & Band Tees. I liked the trio of dips and would recommend them, but I'd probably try something other than the shishito peppers and octopus next time. Visited on 7/21/21 read more

Came for brunch on a Saturday and was able to walk in. Baklava Oatmeal - 4.5/5. Well executed, the figs are the star of the dish but everything comes together nicely. Warm, cozy and sweet. Tsoureki Toast - 4.5/5. Must get with the merenda aka nutella. Really strong french toast. The toast itself is well done, the whip cream and fruit offer a lightness and the nutella brings a ton of flavor. Zucchini Crisps - 3.5/5. Solid. Lightly battered but heavily salted. Pairs well with sweet onion yogurt to offer a salty bite. Easy to share with a group. Greek Yogurt Pancakes - 3/5. Fine but feels like a worse version of the toast. read more

We visited Committee for the first time today for Saturday brunch. It was absolutely delicious! Beautiful decor, innovative menu, professional service, and safe (regarding COVID precautions). Being a Greek American, I am always on the hunt for delicious Greek cuisine. The menu is creative, with a spin on the classics. I was also given a surprise birthday treat! Such a sweet gesture. this place is *chefs kiss* if you're ever in the seaport area. wonderful for a date night or for celebrating special occasions. intimate setting with this urban decor. food is great and i highly suggest the pork chop (or whatever it was, a hunk of pork) bc like wow did it hit. super tender and juicy portions are on the smaller side. drinks were good too read more

Walking into the restaurant was welcoming. The hostesses were polite and immediately seated us. The food was not as delightful as the staff. My boyfriend ordered the lamb gyro. I have attached a photo of the sent-from-kitchen product. Bloody (uncooked) ground lamb. I ordered The zucchini crisps. We sent those back, too. No consistency to half being undercooked/half being overcooked. We spoke with Nick (manager). He was apologetic and accommodated our tab. For drinks this place is a good idea. Food, I would suggest another location. read more

This place is solid. As a vegetarian, there are plenty of dishes to try. I would highly recommend the artichoke moussaka and the corn fritters. The 4 others in my group shared the Poikilia Kreaton and thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't try their cocktails this visit. A great ambience, lots of space. Might be a bit pricey, but we felt it was worth the quality. I think 1-2 dishes per person is reasonable, so expect to spend at least $35 per person with drinks. read more

I am fairly confident that your experience here is proportional to the number of friends you bring, because that lets you try more of the many interesting meze (small plates). We were 10+ and had a blast, and most plates are big enough that you can either order 1 of each (everyone gets a bite) or 2 (everyone gets a hefty sample and some get seconds). Winners include anything that's a spread/dip, the artichoke heart moussaka, grilled octopus, and the saganaki (fried cheese nom nom). "Meh" includes an arugula salad, the whole grilled branzino (tasty but probably not worth the charge), and lamb/chicken souvlaki-style skewers. None were bad, but none will knock your socks off. I was disappointed by the drinks menu. The wine list was solid enough. The beers, however, are almost all cans, hence the bar full of tech bros drinking Boom Sauce. The cocktails were IMO not exciting -- almost none used the Greek liqueurs that headline the menu. We ended up going with tasting flights of those liqueurs instead. That is the partial reason this is 4 and not 5 stars. The other: service can be spotty. Food came out fast enough, and if you grab a waiter, they do respond. Our server, however, took a round of drinks orders, took the food orders, and then ghosted. As in, 20 minutes looking for him, followed by trying to get him to look up while he studiously folded napkins behind the bar. Dude. 10-person table, here for 2 hours. If you go and ask if they want more drinks, they will order more drinks. You will get tipped more. This is not rocket science. We had many thirsty diners. That said, food was top-notch and we got reasonably stuffed for about $50pp. For seaport, that ain't bad. I would gladly hit this again. read more

We had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon - well, we thought we were going for lunch but it turned out they were only serving off the brunch menu. This was a misunderstanding but disappointing because we picked the place based on the menu we saw on line. I have food allergies and it was very hard to find something I could have off the brunch menu. I appreciated the patient bartender walking me through the menu and helping me find something I could modify and actually eat. The food was good - our friend from out of town raved about the Manitaria Pita. My partner had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich which he said was pretty good but not great. The potatoes that come with the plates were very good. The place has a funky industrial feel about it - and the music is loud. We had booked "Bar" seats which I thought would mean a high top in the bar area - another misunderstanding because we actually had three seats at the bar... so it wasn't the best arrangement when trying to catch up with an out of town friend. read more

Came here with a few friends a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. We only had the drinks but had such a great time I want to come back for the food, which looks amazing btw. I had the Made You a Mixtape which was delicious and the presentation was spot on. It has pineapple and passion fruit can't go wrong with a tropical paradise in the middle of a New England winter. It is a little loud so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want to have a real deep conversation but its a fun night. read more

Committee was a destination for a recent post work event greeting new employees and summer interns. The establishment is in the Seaport District of Boston which is a hip, new destination of restaurants, bars, coffee shops along with a growing number of businesses, apartments, and condominiums. While we did have a section of the establishment cornered off for our private party, service was attentive and plentiful. Drinks, largely draft and craft beers, wines, with some cocktails, were eagerly refilled although wait times were longer than expected. Servers were also working through the crowd of 20-25 participants for the 5-7PM event with various hors d'oeuvres. The space itself it great with a modern industrial design and energetic vibe. The Mediterranean concept of sharing small plates is a popular one that committee also does well. We sampled and shared many traditional vegetable, meat and fish platters passed around by the staff. Even an accidental collision that caused a spill was quickly attended to by multiple staff, cleaned and restored to normalcy. Thank you to committee for providing a hospitable location to meet new colleagues and welcome them. read more

Ambiance is lovely and the waiter was pleasant but that's about it. I was very unimpressed with dinner at committee. Ordered several things of which the best was the lamb skewers- the food is generally mediocre. The roasted carrots were undercooked, the lamb ribs very fatty (had to send back), the fries were fine (hard to mess up), the pita bread was cold (Also no longer complimentary if you had read that in another review), and the shrimp risotto dish was undercooked with hard rice. Drinks were ok but nothing special for $17 each. After wanting to eat here for so long, I left very underwhelmed. My waiter did her best by bringing lamb skewers in place of the ribs, which I appreciated. Maybe brunch is better but dinner is a hard pass. read more

Didn't eat on my visit, but had a blast at the bar. Great drinks in an unbeatable location.

When we showed up to Committe the doorman was super rude. He told us to wait in line in the rain when there was literally no one in the club. When we asked him about it, he yelled at us, jumped out of the doorway, almost getting in our face. The music also sounded terrible. I would suggest going to Scorpion Bar next door. Better music and the staff are really nice. read more

Loved this place! You have to get the trio of dips and the feta with extra pita! Skip the souvlaki -- not great. But the crispy zucchini, scallops, shrimp and pork chop were great! The best part was the risotto with the shrimp. Would definitely go back! read more

the best description of this place is a frat party with restaurant style food and even the food wasn't good....how do you serve people meat thats straight up just fat and dry rub seasoning? Very disappointed. The Okra appetizer barely had any okra in it. It was almost like they ran out of okra in the kitchen and they used the one remaining okra to lightly garnish the dish. The lamb in the souvlaki was very tough and difficult to chew. Our first meal in this city after a 6 hr flight from the west coast was such a let down. read more

Last night my husband and I were at this bar with his coworkers. For the purposes of this post, it's important to note that he's Black. He stood at the bar waiting for the bartender to notice him for a very long time while the bartender chatted with some other guests. Since the bar wasn't even crowded, he wasn't sure what the holdup is, but waited patiently. Finally, after about 10 minutes, he asked if he could get a drink, and the bartender said he couldn't help him because he "couldn't understand his accent." Since my husband had not yet even spoken to the bartender, he was a bit confused by this statement, and said as much. In response to this rational question, the bartender gestured to security and they *literally forced* my husband to leave. APPARENTLY, this crusty, pretentious bar has a policy that if the bartender says someone is being belligerent, security and management will blindly agree and throw the person out. While I understand the purpose behind this rule, my husband WAS NOT being belligerent. He was pointlessly removed from an establishment where he was a paying customer. Security even apologized to him and echoed his confusion (we're not upset with security as they were just doing their job and did not manhandle or disrespect him). I can only conclude the obvious: the bartender made unfair assumptions about my husband based on the color of his skin and his slight Haitian accent. Do I have a single reason to think otherwise? I have to know: what the hell is this policy of yours? My husband was neither drunk nor belligerent, and no one else in the bar was treated this way. We've been to this bar before and had a great time, so we're not sure when you hired this bartender, but what a mess. We will NEVER, ever, ever be coming back here, nor will our friends, coworkers, or family members. Big mistake. Huge. UPDATE: the owner reached out to me after this review was posted and doubled down, calling my husband "belligerent" and "aggressive." If you've lived in America for any amount of time, you know these words - when applied to Black men - are code. This is NOT true. My husband was neither aggressive nor belligerent. Was he annoyed at being asked to leave after he was ignored by the bartender? Probably! But let's not play this game. Shameful. read more

Came to explore Boston for the week. Decided to try Committee. I ordered the spiced ground beef kebab for my entree and it was out of this world! So tasty and tender!
