Coffee

This is the third branch I visit and didn't disappoint. Loved this spot because its so spacious and cozy. Their coffee is absolutely delicious and they have some pastries which i didn't try this time. I loved the interior design and the service was friendly. Great spot to sit and work.

House-made banana syrup! Please and thank you! Such a good banana matcha latte, hope it stays 4ever. So much seating inside and out so bring your furry friends! Quick service and park in the garage!

Prong from bamboo whisk found at the bottom of my matcha latte

I've tried the Coffeebar location in Redwood City before and thought it was alright, and I don't think this location stood out that much to me either. Parking is difficult and limited when busy (especially since it's right to Caltrain stop). I got the hot matcha latte which was not bad but nothing special. Definitely more on the grainy side. I also found a prong from the bamboo whisk they use to whisk matcha at the bottom of my matcha latte (see pic). Wasn't upset about it though and thought it was a silly little accident. Not my drinks but tried some of the yuzu caramel latte and marzipan latte which were seasonal and just ok to me as well. The yuzu in the yuzu caramel latte was so strong and sour that it overpowered the drink and I couldn't taste anything except the sourness. The marzipan latte just tasted like a regular latte. Overall I don't feel like their drinks stand out that much. Good amount of indoor seating though with spacious, modern design. A handful of tables outside. Friendly service.

Nice place to chat with a friend or work (good wifi + outlets), but a little expensive. My matcha latte with almond milk ended up being $10 total Friendly service, drinks came out quickly and I liked the cozy vibe of the cafe but the latte itself wasn't anything mind blowing enough to justify the cost in my opinion.

Banana Matcha & Egg Sando
Jomari B.

Great study spot! High ceilings, lots of windows, and private rooms. The banana matcha is creamy and not too sweet. The Egg Sando was delectable. The bread was soft and toasted perfectly. The carmelzed onion, egg, and sriracha aioli was phenomenal. There was barista CJ was working alone while it was busy but was still very attentive. I asked for ice to fill my hydro flask and he was happy to accommodate. When I asked about the egg sando he was very descriptive and helpful. When I told him I didn't want it too spicy he told the back house to go light on the sriracha aioli. Very helpful. I even noticed that he was giving the delivery guy a coffee which is very kind of him. Overall service was impeccable. Stand up employee.

This cafe is located on the bottom floor of an apartment building, so parking can be a little limited. I had to park down the street and walk over. Aside from that, it is such a cute and cozy spot. There is plenty of sunshine and lots of seating, including really comfy plush couches that are great for studying or hanging out. The space is very aesthetically pleasing and feels like the perfect place to cozy up with a book. It also feels very LGBTQIA friendly, which I love. We also bought some coffee beans here that were delicious to brew at home. I tried the marzipan latte and it was amazing. The croissants looked huge and really tasty too. The wifi connection was strong as well. Overall such a lovely cafe. I would definitely recommend it.

Limited space to sit and work I like their playlist They had a decent menu The day I went it was extremely packed. I'm they have a divide where the people who live in those apartments get luxury seating arrangements and visitors have to sit in the coffee bar. I noticed that lots of the patrons were coming from the divide and using up the space when they have their exclusive side to sit on where other people cannot cross. You have to wait until people are done to find a place to sit. Seems like it's a popular place to work. I liked that it's close to the train station. There is however limited very little to no parking

Their drinks are pretty much always good. My dad and I come here often and love trying the different seasonal specials. But the ube latte is probably my personal favorite.

Love this coffee shop! It's conveniently located right next to the Caltrain station and tucked inside an apartment building. The space is very spacious, making it a great place to study or get some work done. I ordered the matcha latte and the banana bread latte. Both were delicious and not too sweet, which I really appreciated. It is a little on the pricey side, but the quality is great. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Rosemary matcha and banana bread latte

A really nice cafe located adjacent to the lobby of an apartment building right by the Lawrence Caltrain station. There's a parking garage available, though it was full when we visited, so we parked on the street. The ambiance is cozy yet classy, with high ceilings and lots of natural light. It's a comfortable spot to get some work done, and they offer free Wi-Fi - just note there are only a few outlets, so come with your devices charged. We tried two of their seasonal drinks: the Banana Bread Latte and the Rosemary Matcha Latte. Both were super unique and delicious, and we loved that they make their syrups in-house! Food prices are on the higher side: - Chorizo Burrito - $14.50. Tasty but quite small, definitely smaller than your average breakfast burrito and given the small size didn't quite feel it was worth the price - Ham & Cheese Croissant - around $7, but a generous portion and very satisfying.

Peppermint mocha

This is probably one of the fanciest/most decorated inside of the Coffeebars that I've been to. I got the banana bread latte which is a seasonal drink, and my partner got the peppermint mocha. We both liked our respective drinks more, but I thought both drinks were solid! I think they are a little on the sweeter side, but as someone who likes things "not too sweet" I thought the overall flavors complement the fragrance from the espresso very well. There is parking for coffeebar underneath the apartment building, although it's pretty limited. There is street parking as well! I like how they decorated for the holidays. I've been here 2 times now and the service has been pretty quick both times.

$8 small (8 oz) mocha
Jonathan S.

First time and would have never know this existed without someone telling me. It's on the south side of the Caltrain tracks in the corner of the residential complex. Came for lunch and ordered a salad and seasonal coffee. The salad was tasty and the mocha with orange syrup was quite good as well. The reason for only three stars is 1) it felt like a hotel lobby type of venue 2) the prices were ridiculous: $8 for a 8oz mocha with flavored syrup? The salad was $18. Based on prices alone I would not recommend and do not plan to return.

$2 day old pastries, yum
Melissa G.

Came here to say this place is still solid, seems they have some new baristas. They're great. Also, $2 day old pastries for the win!

Coffee and matcha were good. Ambiance and vibe was amazing. It was pretty full and it was still relatively quiet...enough to work.

I was worried about the long lines and potential wait since it was a hot, sunny day but there actually weren't many people at all. We were able to order immediately, waited a few minutes for our drinks, and headed into the church lobby to enjoy and chat without sitting under the sun. They have a fun seasonal menu, so I ordered their Whiskey Cream Latte (iced, decaf, not too sweet). They said they make their own whiskey syrup that enhances the coffee and leaves a slight, smokey taste. It was really creative and definitely gave the usual latte a little bit of a twist- I'd get it again. The ladies working the coffee cart were really nice and pleasant, making this a great experience that I'd come back for again.

I tried the maple matcha latte and thought it wasn't anything special. Not the worst i've tried, but nothing spectacular unfortunately. Felt like the matcha was a little grainy and bitter, not creamy and smooth how I usually prefer it. Maybe try their coffee instead as I saw most people drinking coffee and it seems like they have more interesting flavors for coffee compared to matcha!

I was surprised to see a scripture reference on the seal. As for the tiramisu, I tried the classic as well as the mango tiramisu. I wished the mango had two layers of ladyfingers (the spongy part) like the classic did; instead, the whipped cream was 2/3 of the layers instead of 2/3 being ladyfingers. The classic was great though, no complaints. I'm curious to try other flavors next. Service was quick as there was no line. There is one small table outside for seating.

It's a very small shop, and you'll most likely have to take your order to-go or scout for seating elsewhere in the plaza. I fully vouch for the ube tiramisu! It's a really cute dessert with a lovely smooth ube cream, and the Biscoff crumble pairs well with the nutty ube flavor. I am interested in returning to try their other tiramisus. Unfortunately, the drinks I tried (namely their cold brew latte and Hate My Boss signature) were not great. The coffee to milk ratio in the latte wasn't great, and the Hate My Boss tasted primarily of sugar, even at a less-sweet specification. I will say that I think their business is focused on its desserts, with their drinks as a sort of side attraction. Their drinks are on the inexpensive side, I'll give them that, but not so inexpensive that I feel like I can excuse their shortcomings. For what it's worth, the service was great, their store was clean (albeit a bit cluttered), and their desserts are tasty, so I can recommend it, but only for their desserts.
