The walnut pastries are pretty yummy too. I can munch through 5 of them easily. Inside is nice and cute and quiet enough to study, with the exception of the liquid nitrogen distraction once in a while. They also have a cute little outdoor patio. My husband got the sorbet which he thought was a bit too dry and I got the affogato which is two scoops of sweet creme ice cream in two shot of espresso. The newest item, the snow ice, is pretty good, the portion size can be easily shared among a few people, and is unlike other desserts you can find in the area. Cocohodo also offers their signature product, korean walnut pastries, which you can buy in sets. Super frustrated with the service I received today. I come here on a regular basis and have since they opened..I've also referred several people. Today I sent my daughter to order one scoop of ice cream. She used my $5 reward. I then realized one scoop was a little over $2 but they used my entire $5 reward.. so I went to the counter and asked if they could just add another scoop so that I don't lose the extra reward. They refused to do it! I asked the girl to explain why..she said they just couldn't because the register had already run the transaction. And continued to argue with me that she couldn't do it. Common sense and customer service will tell you to leave the register out of it and just add a scoop. It wasn't like I was trying to cheat the system..I was just trying not to lose rewards. The mint wasn't too overwhelming and it wasn't too sweet either. The prices aren't bad (~$5) about average compared to other places that use nitrogen to freeze their ice cream. The only complaint that I would have is that the wafers (that are probably only there for aesthetics) were slightly stale even if they did add a nice touch looks wise. read more

Initially , I was apprehensive as the menu consisted just of gelato for dessert. But I took a chance , and I am so glad that I did. I walked in , and was immediately greeted by the staff. I guess I looked pretty lost, and the barista immediately offered me help. She explained that their gelato was processed with liquid nitrogen- this involves putting organic cream, organic sugar and natural flavoring into a churner that is infused with liquid nitrogen. Eggless gelato at $4.99 for two large scoops? I'm in! I was curious about their walnut pastry, and she immediately offered me a sample. One bite , and I knew I was in love. The pastry is supposedly popular in Korea and has a cake batter shell in the shape of a walnut, with red bean and walnut (whole) filling. It's not too sweet, just enough to satisfy the palate. As this is a snack, I decided to take some home (9 pieces $3.75) and settled for the green tea gelato. They have combos- coffee with walnut pastry, coffee with gelato, different flavors of gelato , and some entrees. (Veggie options available here!) My gelato arrived, (it's all made fresh) and I kidd you not, it felt like satin and tasted divine. The texture is something I've never had before; like rubbing your face with satin, only on your tongue. They have free wifi, and the place is spotless. The friend I went with loved the cappuccino she ordered. I really can't say anything negative about this place. I'm in love with this place. This ice cream actually tasted more like the fruit (yet still creamy) which is a pleasant surprise! I'd definitely come back to try other flavors now! Walnut Pastry -- delicious. The ice cream here does not taste like stale ice cream that's been in the freezer too long, like most nitrogen ice cream I've had. It tastes like fresh ice cream, but cooler (in temperature). My favorite is the earl grey flavor. It's basically like frozen milk tea. The only downside about this place is that it is a bit pricey. It has a great clean and trendy atmosphere. It's comfortable enough to stay here for hours. I've been here many times to catch up with old friends. When this place first opened, I used to be able to study since it was quiet and unknown. So I came in one morning to get a Lavender latte...sounded good...I opted to get it nonfat. But as I was paying, I was told that the latte doesn't come with any espresso...if I wanted to add it in, it would be an extra 75 cents. Uh...isn't that what a latte is? Espresso with steamed milk?
