This is my second visit and I love the nitrogen ice cream. My 1st visit I tried affogato with espresso shot, this time green tea. Both were phenomenal and I would recommend either one. Only tried the espresso (iced americano), so cant comment on the ice cream or food. Laughable quality of barista for any price, and downright shameful for this price range. 10 second extraction for the espresso he pulled, not even close to a proper 30 second pull. Maybe 1/2 oz of espresso for $4 or more, with lacking flavor. Maybe the machine is broken, maybe the barista is new, who knows. The ice creams sound good but I'm not willing to try it if they cant even approximate a coffee. I regret not asking for an immediate refund and walking out. read more

Best icecream in town. I'm seriously addicted to their strawberry icecream to the point that I'm worried for myself. All the ice creams are made with natural fresh ingredients without artificial flavors or colors. Came in last night to grab a couple pints of their strawberry ice cream to go (Bc I have a serious problem) and was greeted by the owner. He was so passionate about what he does and you can tell he really enjoys and takes pride in his work. We got to sample a couple of upcoming flavors which were all equally amazing. I'm actually not someone who normally enjoys ice cream but that changed when I tried cocohodos strawberry. Flavors are all spot on and texture is the best. Icy but so smooth once it hits ur mouth. Like most of the other reviews, it's like a cream puff filled with red bean paste and walnuts. A very unique and incomparable taste! I ordered 15 for myself, don't judge me. The ambiance and service is similar to what you would find in K-town in LA. Contemporary and sleek. Respectful and warming. Quiet and relaxing enough to stay and do hw with their free wifi. Came here after my ULTRA picky aunt (Hi Kelly!) gave this place a thumbs up. As a big fan of most things sweet, when she said "earl grey tea icecream" my ears perked up and we were on our way. After what felt like a year of traversing through Katy, we arrived. This place is literally in the middle of no where. The inside however is extremely cute. Lots of seating and it was really clean and spacious. Ordered the cocohodo pastries which were a nice little treat. I like red bean a lot though.. so it might not be for every one. Made an order for the Green tea and Earl Grey tea ice cream then sat down to await our sweet treat. We were informed they were out of Earl Grey. BOO HISS. Settled with Green tea but once my order was delivered, the owner came by personally to bring me a small batch he was able to scrap together along with our order. Really awesome! The icecream itself was delicious. Creamy and you definitely got intense flavors. Ordered crepes to go which were also pretty good. The owner is extremely welcoming and gave us a run down of how he makes the flavors as well as a brief history of the shop and its offerings. He makes the flavors from scratch as well as the icecream using liquid nitrogen and a kitchenaid mixer. The other employees were equally nice. Would definitely be back but only if I'm in the area since this is a bit of a drive from Cypress. I highly recommend this dessert shop! read more

This is my first time eating here. I got a chocolate mint ice cream. It tastes more of chocolate than mint but overall it was good. The workers were very nice and pleasant to have around. As I was watching one of the workers make the ice cream, I told my sisters about how cool the process was to my sisters. The worker saw my amazement and poured the liquid inside of a container on the floor. I was shocked and wondered why she poured the content on the floor, but to my amazement the content formed a cool fog of gas/smoke instead of making a mess in the floor. I'm not exactly sure why my review got deleted... Honestly, I don't know if it was the day I came in or if everyone was having a bad day, because there seemed to be this tension in the air. I walked into the place and there is not one employee there to greet me. I think I stood there for about 2 minutes until someone was able to help me, which isn't long at all and I don't mind waiting. I have worked in a cafe/restaurant before, so I know things can get hectic. Anyway, I get my drink, which was a vanilla latte, and I have to say that the taste was not at all what I was expecting. It was very sour and barely tasted like vanilla at all. For some reason I had waited about 8 minutes for this, despite how slow it was. A young man came from the back, grabbed my drink from the front, and brought it to me. As I was drinking, I looked at my cup and saw that it had grease stains from food that he was possibly eating. I know that they do not have their crepes, yet, so I think the reason I waited for someone to take my order was because they were all in the back eating away. While I'm scrolling through my News Feed instead of drinking something that would barely be considered a vanilla latte, I hear glass break and a young woman comes out looking depressed. I assume it was her who broke the glass. Afterwards, the OWNER of the store very rudely tells the girl these exact words: "Do not come to the back anymore, because that was a very expensive plate you broke." I sat there for about 30-40 more minutes and watched as her as she worked and saw tears coming down her face... come on. You, as an owner and employer, could have been more understanding of the situation and about ONE SINGLE plate. Anyway, as I thought, the staff were in the back eating. They would come to the front with food in their hands and mouths full. I'm sure no one cares whether the employees eat at work or not, but at the very least, follow sanitation protocol. Maybe I'll go back to see how the service is again at a different time, but my first impression was that this place was unprofessional and that the owner of the store, who cursed frequently, is also unprofessional in how his business is being run. read more

This is my new favorite place it Katy! Everything is 5-star worthy: food, service, and ambience. I think this is a family owned place, and the owner is very nice and happy to discuss his food. The store is beautiful - it's modern yet comforting, with a wall of colorful teas, wood floors, and plenty of comfy seats. This would be an ideal place to study, go on a date, or catch up with friends. I ordered an earl gray ice cream and their namesake walnut pastry. The ice cream is pretty mind blowing. It's handmade using liquid nitrogen, which gives it a bewitchingly smooth texture - you literally can't discern a single ice crystal. While very creamy, however, it lacks the thickness and elasticity of regular ice cream. Its texture is akin to that of butter, where it melts smoothly in your mouth. It's pretty hard to describe, but you'll just have to try it for yourself! The earl gray flavor was also delish, sweet and subtly floral. The ice cream order comes with two generous scoops and wafer and strawberry toppings. It's quite rich, so if you don't have a huge appetite, I would recommend sharing with a friend. At the same time, it's so yummy that you might want the two scoops all to yourself. The cocohodo pastry is very small - the size of a walnut, as it's named and modeled after. Alone, it costs 75 cents, but you can also get four in a combo with coffee. This Korean snack is absolutely delish, with a soft cake exterior surrounding a smooth red bean center and walnut pieces. It comes warm and is just such a delightful bite. My friend ordered the red bean shaved ice, and it was good, but not as good as the ice cream (so get the ice cream!). I'm in love with this place, and it makes me really, really happy. I'll be coming back for sure! read more

Went here the other day after eating korean fried chicken in the same plaza. I got the green tea ice cream and my wife got the nutella ice cream. They are made with liquid nitrogen and i noticed while eating they didnt really melt to the same degree regular ice cream would. The green tea was really good and had a strong matcha flavor which i loved. After taking a bite of the nutella ice cream i was surprised how much it tasted like nutella. My wife says this is her new go to spot and it made her really happy when we went there and got our desserts. We even tried a red bean / walnut pastry sample that they gave us for free. I personally didnt like it that much because there was too much walnut to redbean paste. I also got the plain iced coffee. It was very smooth. My wife got the frappucino/ blended drink and it was very good. Way better than a Starbucks one. We will be back for sure and I highly recommend this place. Hopefully next time i go they have the earl grey tea ice cream i wanted ( i did still get some fancy earl grey tea and had my first cup today and it was delicious) read more

Fun place with great ambience and food. We ordered lattes and crepes and they were all delicious. I enjoyed the chill setting and the cute chalkboard wall. My vanilla latte was great. I am only taking off one star because the customer service at the register was not that great. The young man at the register seemed annoyed of us debating on what to get and was not too helpful when we asked about the menu, but I do understand people have bad days. The crepe had the same effect and was not filled with much. The shaved ice is alright but not good enough to order again. The visual of the food is great, as the owner is skilled at latte art and food placement, but compared to the taste of the food the price is way too expensive. No sign on the door or notifying me before I ordered that they had no walnut pastries. Honestly, I was infuriated. Now, I know that Cocohodo sells multiple items such as ice cream, crepes, coffee, etc.. BUT THE WALNUT PASTRIES ARE THEIR STAPLE ITEM! That's like walking into Popeyes and finding out they're out of chicken! Come on, now!! Now, don't get me wrong. I love this place. My kids love it. Environment is laid back, well kept, clean and family friendly.. but I was extremely disappointed. I'm really hoping they don't let me down again at my next visit. read more

But the affagato was a bit overpriced at $6.69 and in my opinion wasn't worth that much, but was still very good. An iced vanilla latte because it's Dante's Inferno outside, and some walnut pastries because that's what this place is all about. Let me start by saying I've had a *lot* of iced vanilla lattes in my life, from almost every single coffee shop in Montrose/Downtown. I never thought I'd find a vanilla latte as good as Southside's or Inversion's... until today. When I took my first sip of this drink in my car, I had half a mind to bear the heat and run in to compliment them. (I didn't, but I'll be coming back soon to do so!) I'm so glad there's a legitimately good coffee place in Katy now. Then I had the genius idea of eating one of the little pastries while driving and... that was a terrible idea because I almost died. I'm a huge, huge fan of red bean anything, and this pastry was a little bomb of amazingness. A fluffy, warm shell, creamy, bold red bean filling that's not too sweet, and walnuts at the core...
