I ordered the pad peanut sauce with tofu and rice, along with the pad kee mao. The food was pretty good, with reasonable portion sizes. It was served quickly, though the service could have been a bit better.

This place was so cute! They had a lot of other food trucks and tables to sit at. I got the pad Thai with tofu and it was very good. I would have liked it a little spicier but other than that this was a solid pad Thai

In the food truck park near Zilker and Barton Springs, conveniently located if you want to keep the spirit of a picnic-style type of day. Please note this rating is for food trucks, and not to be compared to restaurant ratings. So, service is minimal and a smile goes a long way and the ambiance is usually outdoors. Coat and Thai was rated Top 10 Best Thai by City Search in 2011-2012, and I don't disagree. Good portions, and interestingly served. Ordered the chicken Pad Thai, so it can either be good, really good, or a total fail. Fairly simple dish, yea? This was indeed good. What I appreciated most about this dish is that it wasn't overwhelmed with sauce and had a decent amount of chicken. It was missing egg and some greens, like other restaurants may do, but overall it was a solid dish and accessible by a food truck. FYI anyone in a tree has access to the bathroom key!

Had just left watching the bats on Congress bridge when we felt kind of hungry. Stopped in at The Picnic food truck park. A lot of the food trucks were already closed. Just a couple open. I got Pad Thai at Coat & Thai. Really hit the spot. I didn't think I was that hungry, but once I started, I was inhaling it. Noodles are cooked perfectly, very tasty. Lots of flavor. They gave a lot of crushed peanuts on the side. And a juicy lime wedge. The noodles them self were wrapped in foil to keep warm. I got some napkins and chop sticks at their food truck stand. The park itself is pretty big. The trucks are in an outer circle around the picnic tables. It's mostly covered. It's in the dirt, so don't wear your bright white shoes. Had a great view of the full moon. Which was wonderful. Food was delicious and the service was friendly.

Best food!!!

Best Thai in town hands down!! Pad thai, spring rolls, yellow curry, pineaplle fried rice!! All of them are delicious!!! Yes to Coat and Thai! Serving Austin for many years, they are the best

This truck is a regular at this food park/station or whatever you call it. Someone said it's a long wait but worth it so had to check it out for myself. Ordered the eggrolls and a pad see ew. Then I waited for about 20 minutes. After wondering if it would be worth the wait, my order was ready and I dove in. After the first few bites of the pad see ew, I understand why the wait is as they make every order from scratch which explains the freshness and authenticity of the noodles, veggies, egg, and tofu. One of the better pad see ew's I've tasted. The eggrolls weren't that spectacular but had a nice crunch and paired well with their sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Next time I'm here I'll be doing that Thai Basil fried rice. Saw someone order it and after the first bite, made a face that looked like someone was giving him an inappropriate yet pleasurable feeling related to adult situations. With that said, I'll end this review and see myself out.

Pretty good pad Thai! The noodles were a bit too thin for my preference, but the taste was great. I don't think I would get the shrimp again, probably chicken instead. Didn't wait long, but felt the portion size was small for what I paid compared to other Thai restaurants I've been to.

Unlike some of the other Austin donut locations like VooDoo or The Salty, I feel like Gourdoughs is at the intersection between unique style and good taste. They have Christmas lights which are very pretty, but I went at night in mid October so I wasn't facing the brutal Texas heat. They have really good hours, perfect for a late night snack. The workers were quick with our food. They call it out and you go pick it up from the trailer. I will say it looked mostly like paid parking, but we risked it & didn't pay as we were probably there for less than 30 minutes.

For me, the Chilaquil is the clear winner. Crunchy and soft, spicy and cool, just a masterpiece of balance. It seemed like special occasion food. The Machaca was a savory taco. Seasoned well, it also stands up very well to the hot red sauce. Migas was hard for me to recommend because I like much more salt in my scrambled eggs than Austin's norm. The tacos were overstuffed. It was difficult to keep the ingredients inside while holding them to eat. And the wait on a Saturday at 9:30a is at least 15 minutes once your order is in. People tended to order a lot at once! Throw out your disposable bowls and plasticware at the end. There is plenty of outdoor seating right next to the taco truck as well as the patio nearby. You can also go inside where there is a full bar. The tacos are massive so 1 to 1.5 tacos (splitting 3 with someone) was the right amount for me. I really liked the regular taco (Campechano). The breakfast tacos were pretty good and I would give the nod to Ranchero over Machaca. The crispy chicharrón was a nice addition for the Ranchero. I'd also recommend the option of upgrading to fresh corn tortillas. Solid spot for a quick bite.

I had the Migas taco and the La Reyna taco. Both were excellent. I loved the veggies combination on the La Reyna taco. I would want to stop in and eat these every week if I lived in Austin. This tastes like it came straight out of someone's granny's kitchen in SPAIN. D E L I C I O U S. The owner makes it a point to connect with customers, which was refreshing. You can tell this is passion-driven. You order via QR code at your table, then pick up out back when it's ready--easy. Everything is prepped daily in a Commercial kitchen and finished on the truck, and he proudly shared that the ingredients, spices, even the meats are sourced from Spain. Vegan paella? Incredible. Patatas bravas with vegan aioli? My personal favorite, sooo good. My husband loved the jamón serrano sandwich. And whatever you do, don't skip the sourdough rye with tomato spread. Cold. I bit it a second time because I genuinely couldn't believe it. Meanwhile, the rice was so hot it was still visibly steaming from what I can only assume was a microwave, drowned in a watery gravy I never asked for, next to the old cabbage with solidified liquid. I brought the plate back to the counter, explained the chicken was refrigerator cold, and asked them to reheat it. I'm writing this today with an upset stomach. I wish I could say this was a one-time issue. It's not. I've been trying this restaurant, on and off, for over 15 years, and I kept giving them chance after chance because I wanted so badly for it to be good. I first met the owner when he ran a food truck, before the restaurant existed. I was excited; there weren't many Jamaicans in Austin at the time, and I was happy to support one. The rice and peas was so bad I threw the plate away. Years later, I tried the restaurant location. I ordered curry goat, took it to my car, and found the meat flavorless, fatty, and poorly trimmed; basically inedible. I threw it away in the parking lot. I later ordered oxtail through Uber Eats: flavorless again, poorly prepped meat, and an actual rock in the rice and peas. I tried introducing the child to Jamaican food with one of their beef patties, and it was dry and flavorless. Yesterday I ordered the "safest" thing on the menu, brown stew chicken, specifically because I no longer trust myself to spend real money on anything more ambitious here. I still got food that had clearly been microwaved and reheated unevenly, served with a piece of chicken that was still cold. Are we really selling microwaved leftovers out of an established restaurant with a huge kitchen? Jamaican food is something our culture takes real pride in. This restaurant has had a decade and a half to get it right, and instead I've watched it consistently cut corners on seasoning, on prep, and now on basic food safety. I don't say this lightly: if you want real Jamaican food, this isn't where you'll find it, and depending on the day, what you're served may not even be handled safely.
