This was my first Michelin-star restaurant, and it definitely lived up to the experience. The ambiance was beautiful, with both outdoor and indoor seating options. We chose to sit outside although the inside felt cozy, intimate, and perfect for a date night. Our server was a bit serious, but still very attentive and kind. We came for brunch, and everything was packed with flavor. The kids' bolognese pasta was absolutely incredible. we ended up eating most of it before our own dishes even arrived. Every plate was delicious, and honestly, I wish I had saved room for dessert.

You stopped at this place to get some lunch. They had seating inside and out which caught our eye. We ended up sitting inside. Our waitress was very friendly and made the experience much more enjoyable. The menu was good and I had a chicken sandwich. I would like to go back to this place and explore more of the menu. It's right downtown and surrounded by shopping and decadent pastry shops.

Wow steak Crunchwrap with eggs for brunch?! Say no more!! This was definitely needed before our long 5 hours drive home! It was delicious and we ate every bite. Planned to go to Brekkies but the line was too long, no line here and we have no idea why because the menu and food were amazing! We felt lucky to have found it amongst the crowd!

Love Coast Range. I've been several times for brunch with my wife. We went this time around for our one year wedding anniversary. I always get the breakfast crunchwrap, but I decided to go with the pork belly sandwich. So delectable, and I'm glad I tried the potato cake. Shrimp appetizer was very good, and my wife enjoyed the eggs benedict. Definitely have to try a donut if you want dessert. Always really nice servers and hosts. Must stop if you're in Solvang.

We were warmly greeted and promptly seated in a cozy booth. There is a delightful charm to the decor. Clearly the executive chef favors a menu with a few items done really well than offering a litany of entrees do satisfactory. Our server was wonderful, making certain we enjoyed our meal. Started with a mimosa and Bloody Mary. The BM was the better of the two. We chose eggs Benedict which were fantastic. Rich, creamy and simply uncious with a balanced profile including a bit of salt...probably from the ham. We weren't rushed through our meal which was perfect for a Sunday. Cheers!

Was literally daydreaming about this place and realized I never made a review! We went back in May (of last year), but it bums me out all the same to see the disparity of ratings. We had a 5-star service and the food was exceptional. Our server was so accommodating / helpful and sure, they were busy, but I was within good company and the weather was wonderful. I am planning a trip back to Solvang just to return to this restaurant!

I was really looking forward to eating here based on good reviews and Michelin star rating. It was a total let down. First, I want to say service was great. The rating is for the food. We ordered half a dozen oysters and the potato pierogies as our starters. I know oysters come in all sizes, but to be charging $32 for the oysters we were served is crazy. We order oysters often and have never seen oysters as small as the ones we were served. Didn't ask where they were from, and didn't get a picture, but you probably wouldn't be able to see them in the photo anyway because they were so tiny. The pierogies tasted like they came frozen and were reheated in the microwave. For our main dish, we ordered the cod and a side of asparagus. The asparagus was tasty, so you could say that was the best thing we ordered. The cod was tasteless and the sides it was served on (no idea what all was on the plate) were hard and cold. They also only offer gender neutral bathrooms which require cleaning on a regular basis throughout the night and that clearly wasn't happening. They were disgusting. Not what I would expect from a restaurant with their prices. I would not recommend this restaurant. This meal was not worth the $200 we spent. We had better fish and chips at Fitzpatrick's Tavern down the street. Try them and save yourself $150.

Coast Range - Where Michelin-Star fine-dining type meals meet a casual vibe! When my friend and I first walked in, we were enthusiastically greeted by the Hostess who was at the front desk that proudly had the Michelin Stars on display. We had a reservation, since it was a Friday night, and I was shocked that this place wasn't completely packed with people (they DO have a nice patio, and there were a lot of people out there). The vibe and decor is what I would describe as "Classy Western". Sort of Wild West, but a bit more upscale than traditional western-style restaurants. Ciana was our server, and could not have been any more delightful! She took great care of us. And as an added bonus, she was able to tell us not only about the menu items, but could also recommend certain wines to pair with them. We could tell she wasn't just throwing suggestions out there; she knew her stuff! By the way - the wine list in incredible (quite extensive with key regions and varietals represented)! My friend and I both had the Chicken Cordon Bleu, which came with a small "pot" of some of the most incredible mashed potatoes I have ever had. The entree was just melt-in-your-mouth fantastic, and the sauce just tied everything together so well. Perfect balance of chicken, breading, cheese, and ham. For dessert, my friend got the donuts (two generous-sized, by the way, so this could easily be shared), which are dipped in a brown-butter glaze that will change your life! I opted for the apple tart, which was fantastic (and could be shared, but is also proportionate for one person). This is Michelin-Star dining at what I would consider to be a reasonable price; especially for the quality of food and service we received. This will be a definite spot I will return to each and every time I am in Solvang.

Super cute place with great food. It's a Michelin recommended so we had to check it out. We ordered a few things to share. The spinach pop tart was huge and tasty. The bone marrow was delightful. The beef stroganoff was so good!!

Brussels Sprouts were so good. Our server recommended it.

We went to Coast Range for Valentine's Day dinner with my family -- and even our dog! I was honestly surprised (in the best way) that a Michelin Guide restaurant would be so welcoming and allow us to bring our dog. That level of hospitality really stood out. The food was amazing from start to finish. The Tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, the Brussels sprouts were delicious, and the tuna crudo was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. Every dish impressed us. The service was very attentive and made the whole experience even better. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This is higher than 4 but not quite 5. Yelp needs to allow partial stars! Cute little place on the main drag. We didn't have a reservation so they couldn't seat us inside but gave us a spot outside and turned on the heaters since it was drizzly. Our server was very nice and accommodating. We have a gluten free kid and she was able to check with chef and get something that worked. Overall great food presentation. Flavors were yummy but not mind blowing. Except the puddling which was more cake like than pudding-y but it was SO good. Worth the drive back up for that alone. I went inside for drinks and the bartender was fab. He had a nice pour, super quick for service and flirty enough for a good tip! . If we didn't hav a bunch of kids the bar would have been a great spot. Will be happy to come again on our next trip to solvang

I visited Coast Range during a last-minute Valentine's Day trip to Solvang. After reading the glowing reviews and knowing the restaurant holds a Michelin star, I expected an elevated dining experience--not just in food, but in service. Unfortunately, the service fell far short of a Michelin star standard. Upon arrival, I approached the male host to ask if they were accepting walk-ins. Without making eye contact, he abruptly told me that only bar seating was available. I thanked him, and he responded with a dismissive "uh huh." Not exactly a warm welcome. We proceeded to the bar around 5:30 p.m., roughly 30 minutes after opening. The bar area is small, seating about 14 guests, and it was full with two bartenders working. After sitting for five minutes, no one greeted us. One member of my party eventually had to walk up to a bartender to request menus. She told us she would bring drink menus shortly and gave us the food menu. After reviewing the food menu, we waited another five minutes--still no water, no check-in, no acknowledgment. I made eye contact with the second male bartender, who simply stared back without saying a word. We continued waiting while watching other guests receive attentive service, drinks, and food. Eventually, we approached the same lady bartender again to ask if we could order. Her response was, "You're ready?"--which was surprising given that she had previously said she would come to us. During the time we were waiting, I observed her making drinks, chatting with other guests, and even taking a moment to use her phone to adjust the bar's music when it went quiet. Yet we remained unacknowledged in the corner. When she finally came over to take our order, there was no apology for the delay, no introduction, and no thank you for waiting. Basic courtesies that are expected at any restaurant--especially one with a Michelin distinction--were absent. Our food eventually arrived, and only then were we brought water. By that point, we were simply ready to eat and leave. While waiting for the check, a new party of two sat at the bar, and I watched as the same lady bartender warmly greeted them and promptly offered menus. The contrast in service was difficult to ignore. Even if we did not have a reservation, we were still paying customers and expected to be treated with professionalism and courtesy. The host was simultaneously seating guests on the patio, which made the initial dismissal even more confusing given that reviews describe the restaurant as accommodating to walk-ins with a wait. I rarely write reviews unless the experience is exceptional--either positively or negatively. While the food was decent, I struggle to understand the Michelin recognition based on this visit. Service is a fundamental part of fine dining, and unfortunately, this experience put a damper on what was meant to be a special evening. Regrettably, I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.

Came to the bar with a big group which totally threw off the staff. The drinks were fine, Just know that there's craft drinks, but you need to give the staff a lot of patience.

There's a cute sticker machine at the wait area, for a dollar you can get a random sticker in either the peasants farm/feast brand, or what I think are local brands and artists? We chose the local brands and the slight disappointment when a sole Enegren sticker was revealed, washed over us (none of us drink). But I enjoy it being there. Despite the chill there's plenty of heaters around that make the meal plenty enjoyable. The food is around $20-30 per person if you're being stingy like us and not ordering extras like drinks or starters. And the menu rotates daily I think, everything that was recommended to me by friends wasn't on the menu. But I felt pretty full with just half the fig grilled cheese for a meal and snaking on the rest later in the day. It was the perfect blend of savory sweet, like a cheesy geode with a rock exterior of Parmesan crispy bits flaking off and rich bread but inside was gooey soft cheese that was elevated with a satisfyingly sweet fig jam. The dipping sauce the potatoes were given is kind of boring, it looked colorful but felt like just a spicy mayo. The soup was a zappy blend of carrot, ginger, and turmeric? It felt like one of those health shots subdued down smooth with cream. Our server offered bread with it and we did assume it would be $5+ but it isn't listed in the menu to my knowledge. The hot chicken was really good though, there's a multifaceted layer where you can taste the sweetness of the bread, the kick of the pickles, the crunch of the breading, and finally the succulent chicken. It's quite good! Patio is dog friendly, we were seated next to a very polite, and very excited dog. So far my favorite place to eat in Solvang!

The pastries were buttery without being overly sweet, which made them even better. Staff were friendly. If you visit Solvang, one of the "must-stop" spots is definitely Olsen's Danish Village Bakery. Highly recommend! Check out my video: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8pSuSW9/

TLDR: It's simple things done well. I'm normally wary of going to places that tourists frequent,…read morebut this is a place that I feel matches the hype. Thoughts: I must admit that I'm not a bread person. The only reason I went here is that I had to take some tourists around. Solvang was a pretty obvious stop to make, and we found ourselves in Olsen's. I'm a believer of nailing the simple things, because you won't be able to hide it in fluff. What I liked about Olsen's bread is that they taste home made. The flavors taste exactly like what you asked for, and they don't have those added chemicals that certain establishments use to make the flavors "pop out". The bread was flaky, chewy, and an overall joy to consume. Ambiance: The tables and chairs had a cafe vibe (which is what the place is). It's clean, the bakery smelled great, and the high foot traffic means that the turnaround keeps the food fresh. Service: Straightforward. Pick your bread, ask your questions, and the staff will ring you up after getting what you asked for.

Alright y'all, don't let the long wait scare you away , it is absolutely worth it!…read more From the moment we sat down, the service was great. The girls working there were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving despite how busy the place was. Before coming in, we read all the reviews about the chilaquiles, and since that's one of my all-time favorite breakfast dishes, I came in with high expectations. I ordered the chilaquiles half-and-half style with both red and green sauce plus chorizo... and they delivered! Both sauces were seriously good. By the end of the meal, I think the green sauce barely won me over, but honestly it was a tough decision because both were delicious. And don't sleep on the waffles either those were amazing too!

Brekkies was hands down the best food my family and I had while on our mini vacation in Solvang!…read more We arrived around 8:30am on a Saturday to a small line, but it moved fairly quickly. You order at the counter and then they have you sit at a table - they do not allow you to sit before ordering which I liked. It allows for the kitchen and staff to stay on top of orders and to help everything run smoothly - plus it cuts down on allowing people to save tables. We ordered the Belgian Waffle, Corned Beef Hash, Biscuits and Gravy and Danish Pancake. Everything was fresh and delicious, including the coffee and fresh squeezed OJ! The inside has a decent amount of seating, I believe there might have been an additional room as well, plus outdoor seating. Staff were very friendly and personable! They came around and checked on us, refilled water/coffee and cleaned plates. Overall, we absolutely loved this place - we almost came back again on Sunday, but the line was really long and we needed to get on the road to head home! Fun fact: Brekkies is British slang for...breakfast! Also, the owner of Brekkies also owns 2 or 3 other businesses in town included Chomp Burgers which was also very good! If you're ever in Solvang and looking for a breakfast/brunch spot, I highly suggest checking out Brekkies!
