First off, I want to state that presentations of food and experiences were good. The ambiance missed the mark and had us questioning a lot of the design choices, especially when Barbacoa and Coa De Jima have amazing interior design. It felt thrown together. Our waitress was AMAZING. Drinks were well done as well. We started off with the spicy calamari which was recommended by our waitress. While it did have amazing flavor, the texture of the breading was incredibly soggy. It missed the mark of classic calamari. I almost wish the sauces were on the side versus being on top of the calamari. Next we were pretty disappointed with the entrees we received. I tried the Mahi-Mahi and Lobster. Mahi Mahi was cooked well, a bit bland. The biggest problem I had was with the lobster. I was so excited to try a tasty lobster, only to find out it tasted like chlorine and was overcooked. The whole plate didn't taste cohesive. The sides were the best part, not the main proteins which is unfortunate. However ours were prepared, was not done well at all. We also ordered the grilled seafood platter which consisted of lobster, scallops and shrimp. Scallops and shrimp were cooked well thankfully. Again, the lobster tasted funky. No amount of butter could hide the taste badly prepared lobster. We ordered the specialty cocktail- I don't remember the name, but it was a boozy, tasty drink. We also ordered the xxx which is a dangerous drink because I could drink so many! Overall, I was looking forward to a nice, seafood restaurant in Idaho. It missed the mark in multiple ways and could use more refining to make it the ultimate seafood restaurant. Definitely not worth the price point. Stick to the steak and pasta here. read more

UH.MAZ.ING! This place is incredible. The ambiance was unreal. Service was incredible (but I knew it would be) and the food... OHHHH MY GOODNESS!! We started with a mojito and old fashioned followed by the spicy calamari- best I've ever had! I finally got the chance to visit Coa Del Mar, and I'm thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere is delightful, and the service is top-tier. The chef has done a remarkable job with the menu. We tried the salmon ceviche and Chilean Seabass--both were outstanding, with the fish being moist, flaky, and cooked to perfection. The Ribeye Steak was delectable, and the portion size was generous at a fair price. The Orange Roughy was the best I've ever tasted. The service was friendly, and Nik was especially attentive. I do have to deduct one star, though, as I found it a bit unhygienic to have the cutlery placed directly on the table without napkins underneath. read more

What can I say? The food was miraculous. Our group of four shared Hawaiian poke. I order the "smash the bowl" salad. Basically a bowl formed out of Asiago cheese that has been baked to crisp with Caesar salad in it. Yes. Need I say anymore? Yum. My entre was the bouillabaisse , which was full of many kinds of fish, lobster, shrimp, clams, scallops and several kinds of white fish. The broth was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and the support staff constantly filled our water and removed our empty plates immediately as thy emptied. Finally, the design of the restaurant itself is lovely and imaginative. All in all a wonderful experience. read more

This is the second time I have stopped at Coa Del Mar for dinner. We were two couples actually celebrating 3 birthdays that were early or belated. The atmosphere is elegant beauty, that looks over the water. The staff is always attentive and professional with great suggestions. They have some of the most colorful and tasty cocktails and my favorite, an extensive bourbon/scotch offering. All the Ceviche starters are delicious. We ordered one for each of us and shared them like family style . The seafood bouillabaisse, swordfish w/shrimp, fish tacos, calamari, and scallops are wonderful. This was our second visit to Coa del Mar. The service, drinks (the Helios was refreshing on a hot day & not too sweet), and amenities (ie. table location, decor, cleanliness of the restaurant & bathroom) were once again really good. This time, I ordered the seafood paella and found the scallops, shellfish, and shrimp to be cooked perfectly. All nice and tender. But the dish cost $60 (or was it $80?) just for that one dish. At that price, it should've been perfect. Also, the sausage in the dish reminded me of Oscar Meyer bologna. No bueno. And the fish was overcooked and dry. The keylime bar for dessert was very good but overpriced ($13 for an unshareable amount). I give it 4 stars because for the money, it just doesn't measure up. They need to lower their prices or perhaps focus on fewer dishes and really amp them up for the same price. Anyways, I recommend trying the restaurant because it's beautiful and the servers really do a magnificent job, but just know a party of two ordering a couple drinks, a $20 appetizer, two medium priced entrees, and one dessert will be close to $200. People usually go to a restaurant for the food first, then the service. If Coa del Mar can 'up' their food to match the quality of their service (while insisting to keep their prices the same), I will give them 5 stars. For now they're still 4 stars in my mind. read more

Our new favorite restaurant. Rock Steaks and the Sammy Ceviche are the best. One employee, Lucas, made our experience immeasurably better with his attentiveness, humor and passion for the job. It's refreshing to see someone (especially a young person :) ) embracing a job to make the experience more enjoyable for themselves and the customer. I feel like Lucas is a great addition to the ambiance and the white glove treatment we received at Coa Del Mar. He was not only knowledgable about the menu, but visited our table the exact right amount to make sure we had what we needed. This place has so much potential. The place is beautiful but missing the mark of a more upscale place. The dinner portions are outrageous. Quality is so much more important than quantity. Offer smaller portions and focus more on quality. At my table the chicken dish with the mushroom sauce was so huge for a second I thought I was at Cracker Barrel. Just too much...it feels wasteful. I had the swordfish and again just a huge portion, barely ate half. I love this place and have a lot of hope. Slow down and focus on quality. I look forward to the next time I visit. read more

Stopped by for happy hour two drinks for the price of one and stayed for dinner. The atmosphere is very nice a bit quieter than the main store downtown, which I appreciate. You can have a nice conversation and some great drinks. We ordered the shrimp cocktail tail and fish taco's and they were excellent. The octopus is also very good. Great vibe, felt like I was back in Newport Beach. I stopped by for an impromptu dinner on a Saturday. Booths in the bar are first come, walked in and chose a spot. Wait staff are very welcoming and attentive For someone that eats mostly carnivore/animal based it's pretty easy to order with the selection of fresh seafood and beef. Mixed feelings about our first time here. We got to restaurant right at our reservation time, on the dot. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. Not sure how I feel about the receptionists. Once seated our server aid was welcoming. Then our server, Amy G, came and helped to answer all our questions. She was very nice throughout our dining experience. Since it was our first time we decided to order all appetizers- all seafood types. Best one we enjoyed very much is the Spicy Calamari. Good size portion too! Their appetizers are a good portion size except for halibut sashimi (lots of ice but little sashimi). Their ceviches are a bit heavy on the sauce. We also ordered the Maui Onion soup. This was a little sweet as it was also cooked in sherry. The ambiance is beautiful. Good portions of food although hit and miss on taste. read more

Second time at Coa Del Mar, love the location and the atmosphere. Both times our waitresses were great. Food was good, only thing is usually when I get a steak on the hot rock it's a little under cooked because it continues to cook on the hot rock. Well when I received my steak this time it was supposed to be medium well and by the time I got it it was already well over well done. So that was a little disappointing. The place is great, especially if you want to take someone there on a date. The food was pretty good and the view is awesome. The only negative is the food was expensive. Since it's in Eagle, that's to be expected. Maybe not worth the price, but you should keep in mind you're really paying for the atmosphere, not the food. The decoration inside this resturant is so fun! There are glass octopus chandeliers, oyster shaped booths, and a beautiful mermaid mural to name a few things that caught my eye. We started the night with tableside guacamole (which he had a tip jar which I didn't expect) and french onion soup. The guacamole was fresh and spicy, and they gave a lot of chips which I appreciated. The French onion soup was the highlight for my whole evening. I then got the macadamia halibut which was good, but I didn't find the purple yams to compliment the dish and I didn't enjoy them. We eneded the night with coconut creme brulee which was so good! I'm not sure this is a resturant I'd be in a hurry to come back to. Unfortunately we had a waitress that seemed annoyed and bothered by our questions, even when it came to her splitting the bill incorrectly. Atmosphere and service are fantastic. Looks like a fine dining establishment without being stuffy or pretentious. Very expansive menu with lots to choose from and the food is better than average. We mainly chose 'seafood' items and they were good but not fantastic. Oysters were small and loaded with flavoring so you don't get to taste them. The two seafood entrées we chose were a little overcooked and somewhat dry. Lobster, Shrimp, scallops, and fish should be barely cooked and succulent and they were not. The fish in my dish was not really edible due to being too dry. Still I would strongly recommend this restaurant and will give them another try. read more

Finally, if your luck enough you get the service of our waiter Tony! Tony knows how to give amazing service but yet not to make you feel rushed.
