Coa Del Mar was a top 10 dining experience. The wait staff was friendly, prompt and attentive. The decor was gorgeous. The meals for myself and my wife were delicious. From the amazing calamari appetizer, to the delicious huckleberry martini to the great variety of fish on the menu, to the perfect halibut meal and excellent coffee and doughnut dessert. It is as good as the reviews say it is. Went around 4:45 pm on a Wednesday to check out the happy hour. BOGO on cocktails (up to $15). Laura made an excellent Old Fashioned (well, 2 of them). Broke my "never order octopus outside of Spain" rule and got the crispy octopus with chorizo appetizer. As they say, rules are meant to be broken. It was outstanding. As good as any I've had in Spain. Next up, the waygu sliders. Also excellent. All around, super enjoyable place to have drinks and food. The ambience is first class. Feels very high-end. Hand's down one of our favorite restaurants in the Treasure Valley. The entire experience was top tier. From service to food and everything in between. My husband and I dined at Coa Del Mar for our anniversary and we're already looking for a reason to come back. Here's a quick breakdown of our experience: * The ocean vibes are so fun. The detail they put into the designs are so cool from the octopus door handles to the jellyfish lights. * Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly. Best service we've had in a while. * The food was top notch. My husband couldn't stop raving about the prime rib. He pretty much ate the entire thing and that's saying a lot. My macadamia halibut was delicious, I'm not usually a fan of coconut but the coconut rice helped elevate the dish. We wanted to take my daughter somewhere fun for her 21st. Coa Del Mar is in our area and perfect for her birthday dinner. We had a great experience the last time we were there for our company Christmas party. So I knew it was going to be amazing time for all of us for my daughter's birthday. Our reservation was for 7:30. We were sat shortly after we arrived. It was busy for a Tuesday night. Several large parties were going on and a lot of birthdays too. Menus and water was dropped off. Before we knew it, Gwen, our server greeted us and got our drinks started. We did want a "break it yourself" Ceasar salad as a starter so that was also turned in for us. The Ceasar salad was a good as I remembered. The salad was fresh and crisp. There was a generous amount of parmesan cheese. A huge piece of foccacia bread was placed on top of all that goodness. The best part was the parmesan bowl. It just adds such a crunchy element to the salad! So tasty. Dinner did take a minute to get prepared. There were two large parties that the kitchen was trying to smash out. No problem! We chilled and enjoyed our salad. Dinner did finally come out and man did everything look fantastic! My linguine fruitti de mare was beautifully plated. My daughter's seafood paella liked hearty and delicious. My husband's go to is the filet on the hot rock and as usual it look fabulous. The linguine was loaded with seafood! The lobster was charred and sweet. The clams and mussels were cleaned nicely and fresh. There were huge pieces of fish throughout the pasta dish. The tomatoe broth was rich in flavor and color. I appreciate that it wasn't overwhelming in basil as basil was described in the menu. I was surprised that there wasn't much heat to it since it mentioned spicy broth. I did get a side of chili flakes. Added some of it to my dish and it was perfection! My daughter's paella was delicious I had some of her rice. The bites I had were so flavorful, fluffy and had chunky pieces of chorizo. And the piece of filet my husband gave me was so tender and savory from the congac sauce. Gwen got my daughter a birthday treat! It was a big funnel cake topped with salted caramel ice cream. I love the firework type candle that they lit for my daughter. What a fun way to make a wish! I did have quite a few bites of the dessert despite of how full I was. The funnel cake was soft and sweet. The salted caramel ice cream was a great addition to the funnel cake. Each bite was yummy! I'm happy we got to come here to celebrate my daughter's special day. I was looking for a seafood restaurant to take my wife for her birthday. I chose Coa Del Mar because of the great reviews. I made a reservation for a Wednesday at 5 pm. I asked for a quiet booth and stipulated that it was my wife's birthday. We arrived closer to 4:30 but that was no problem. The restaurant is on Riverside Dr in Eagle but all the way past Edgewood. I didn't know it existed before I found it on Google. The ambiance is very nice. High ceilings with cool chandeliers and nice artwork on the walls. There is also a wall to wall wine rack on the left as you enter which added to the decor. It is carpeted, which acts as a buffer for the sound. The music was too loud for me but my wife and I could still talk and hear each other. It has an elegant, hip vibe. We were sat in a nice, spacious booth close to the outdoor dining in back that faces the pond. We could not see the water (no one can unless you are on the patio, which is too cold in January). Our server was Mykl, and she had a new server, Joseph, shadowing her. They were both awesome. Super nice, helpful, and attentive. Joseph is a recent transplant from another state, but I could tell he is an experienced server. Mykl explained the drink menu, and my wife had a mocktail while I had a Mother Earth hazy IPA. Very tasty. She explained the appetizer menu and made suggestions and we chose the fried calimari, which was delicious. For our main entrees, my wife had the grilled seafood platter and I had the Mahi Mahi and Maine lobster. Hers came with mashed potatoes and mine with rice. All delicious. They brought a complimentary dessert for my wife. It was like a creme puff without the creme and topped with vanilla ice cream and a sparkler. The pastry was a little tough but otherwise good. Our first time at Coa Del Mar was excellent. We had the seafood paella, the Baja fish tacos, and the tableside guacamole, and every dish was super flavorful, balanced, and well seasoned. The paella was layered and bold, with seafood-forward flavor. The fish tacos were bright and crisp, with real heat and acidity instead of the watered down versions you find in places trying not to offend anyone. The guacamole was fresh, punchy, and well balanced. Service deserves praise as well. Our server was attentive without hovering and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The tableside guacamole was a standout not just for flavor, but for execution. The person preparing it seasoned it thoughtfully, had us taste it, and asked if we wanted any adjustments. No adjustments were needed. I saw a couple of low reviews claiming the food here is "too salty" or that everything "relies on salt," and honestly, I think that criticism misunderstands what's actually happening on the plate. Salt is being used exactly as it should be used, to amplify acid, spice, fat, and freshness. Nothing tasted heavy or one-dimensional. It was delicious. This was our first visit to Coa del Mar, though we've previously enjoyed Barbacoa. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Once seated, Brody and Jacob were attentive and anticipatory of our every need -- if we could give 11 stars, we would. There were four of us celebrating a milestone anniversary and two birthdays, and the evening felt perfectly suited to the occasion. The food was exceptional and the drinks were outstanding. Most people who visit Boise know about Barbecoa! It's a jewel of our restaurant community, with some exceptional dishes and full service experience. However, for old guys like me it's quite a 'scene' and one I don't truly enjoy. Coa Del Mar however, is one of my favorite places to dine. While the vibes are still high and the stimulus in the room still a bit much, Coa Del Mar offers a more manageable environment where you can still hear the conversation at the table, and don't feel inundated by the meat market bar crowd like at Barbecoa. The food is exceptional! With several mainstay dishes available from the Sister restaurant, and very fresh fish options unique to their own place. Highly recommended. read more

We came here to celebrate some recent accomplishments and ordered two glasses of champagne. Our waiter said since it was happy hour two glass were the same price as the bottle so we thought "why not!" I ordered the steak and lobster with a side of risotto. I thought the steak, lobster and mashed potatoes were outstanding! I was a little disappointed by the risotto which is the only reason I am giving the food 4.5. The risotto was a little dry and just didn't really taste like anything. My husband got the mahi mahi and lobster and it transported us back to Hawaii. I think I would order that next time it was so good. I will say that the lobster and mahi mahi was an odd pairing though and would like just the mahi mahi plated by itself. For dessert we had the espresso and donuts. My mouth is still watering thinking about that dessert and was the perfect way to end our meal. The drinks were the perfect sweetness and the donuts were the perfect. Service: 5/5. Our waiter Patrick was very charismatic and attentive. He informed us of the happy hour and made sure we knew the dessert specials of the day. We were seated quickly even though it was packed and our food arrived in good time. The GM also greeted us when he brought our champagne and was very pleasant. Atmosphere: 4.5/5. This place has a very fun vibe, amazing decor, and has a waterfront patio that fills quickly. We didn't have reservations so we sat in an area that had really small tables. My only complaint is that the tables were too small for our ginormous plates. Even having small square tables instead of circle I think could make a difference. I would definitely recommend making reservations even for a weekday. I ordered the enchiladas, which was also great. The sauce was by far the best; so robust and full of flavor. The rice was smoky and a great side. My only complaint is for reservations, to sit small parties next to other small parties. Fantastic and well worth the drive if north Eagle is a bit out of the way for you. The decorative oceanic details were incredibly impressive, every staff member is extremely friendly, and the food is fresh and on point! While seafood is the main fare, there are other options such as hot rock steak (impress the crowd with the presentation on this one!), lamb, pasta, and a few other goodies. All the dishes have a wow factor so bring the out of town friends and family. Cocktails are fresh, great beer selection, and wine for the most discerning of palates. Really cool high energy spot! Came in today at 6pm and posted up at the bar. Really friendly staff. They were up beat and high energy. Bartender told me portions were large and she wasn't joking. The linguini dish was HUGE with a ton of seafood and a good portion of pasta. It was good but the sauce needed a bit more spice or seasoning so dock on star. The ceviche was good with large chunks and shrimp and avocado... Crab was just too claws so not a huge amount of crab. Definitely one of the best dining options in Eagle. Our large party enjoyed quite the spread of appetizers, entrees, cocktails, and desserts and I tried most of everything. Overall, I felt that the food was solid. Most of the dishes were great, while some of them were just okay. The calamari, guacamole, sea bass, short rib, and fish tacos were all terrific. The coconut shrimp, mahi mahi, and linguini were not. The arugula salad came with virtually no dressing and was quite disappointing. But they do a wonderful job with the presentation and offer generous portion sizes, which helps justify the expensive price tags. The Coa restaurants have the best happy hour with buy-one-get-one cocktails that are always good. Are they the best drinks I've ever had? No. But they are priced really well and don't ever disappoint. The ice martini glasses are fun and unique. The decor is absolutely beautiful. The artwork, lighting, bathrooms, and wall-of-wine help tailor an upscale dining experience. Our server was excellent and the staff was attentive. Our group was rather difficult and they managed us well. They even provided our table multiple complimentary desserts to celebrate my granny-in-law's 85th birthday, which left a lasting impression. The desserts were fantastic. My main critique is that I wish they had a smaller menu to ensure consistency with every dish. But overall, I thought they did a really nice job considering the high volume of guests they serve. We love all the Coa restaurants, but Coa Del Mar has the best atmosphere by far. The view of the lake and surrounding homes creates the perfect backdrop for an exceptional dining experience. The crispy octopus appetizer was outstanding -- perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. For my entrée, I tried white fish, which was cooked beautifully, but I wasn't a fan of the sauce paired with mashed potatoes. The combination didn't quite work visually or flavor-wise; the sauce's pale color and texture weren't very appealing. I had expected something more along the lines of a raspberry reduction or a lighter, more vibrant accompaniment. That said, the hot rock filet was excellent as always -- consistently flavorful and fun to experience. Overall, Coa Del Mar continues to impress with its atmosphere, creativity, and service, even if one dish missed the mark for me this time. I'm already looking forward to coming back. read more

We finally got to try Coa del Mar in Eagle for my husbands birthday celebration.   We had early 430 pm reservations, and the restaurant was already loud and busy. The music was too loud for dinner service.  The restaurant is beautiful on the outside with a grand sea themed interior with lots of blown glass chandeliers.  We were seated in a booth with plenty of room. The wait staff was wonderful. Sienna was a very attentive server,  always checking in with us.  We chose to eat off the appetizer and ceviche menu instead of dinners. This gave us a great variety of flavors, which did not disappoint. We really loved the seafood options. Each appetizer came out at appropriate intervals.  Each dish was a beautiful piece of art.  Clean plating with beautiful colors.  Here is what we opted for on our first visit. Yellow tail sashimi (Fresno chilies, red onion & cilantro topped with a ponzu glaze)- thinly sliced fish with a buttery flavor. The flavors were light with the right amount of spice.  Beef Carpaccio- (Topped with cornichons, capers, truffle oil & served with a celery parmesan salad).  The beef was melt in your mouth. The cornichons were a nice touch. The parmesan needed to be freshly  shaved.  The celery salad was refreshing, but maybe shave it for a lighter texture.   Orange Roughy Ceviche(red chilies, mango, onion, cucumber, Avocado, citrus dressing) served on a Tostada.  This had so much flavor, spicy fresno chilies, and a light citrus dressing.  This was more than enough to feed the two of us.  Spicy Calamari (Deep fried calamari steak with panko breading, serrano peppers & red onions. Tossed with cayenne pepper & red wine gastrique. Garnished with fresh cilantro & garlic aioli).  The calamari steak were crispy large planks. The sauce could have used more of that fresno spice as it was slightly sweet.   We finished with deserts: Key Lime Bar (White chocolate coconut crusted. Served with fresh lime & a white chocolate tulip. Presented with strawberry-lime sauce & coconut gelato) this was a refreshing and light desert. The coconut ice cream was a welcome change from whipped cream.  Birthday Desert (Caramel icecream, served in a warm donut like deep fried dough).  This was a cross between donut and an elephant ear served with a caramel ice cream.  This was very tasty, light, and not greasy.  Reminded me of fair food. All in all, this is a great addition to the Valley dining scene. It offers an expansive menu that will be sure to meet the needs of the patrons. We went to Coa Del Mar May 2024. I ordered the filet on the hot rock with THAT Sauce!! I am that odd ball that likes her meat well done and it was great to cook it on the hot rock to my perfection! The filet came with a choice of sides. I chose the baked potato with all the fixings. We sat at the bar and enjoyed wonderful service. The wine pours were very generous, and we went at time when the wine was 1/2 off-- a complete treat! I ordered another glass of red for my dessert! I came back again in March 2025 and I ordered the filet on the rock again! My dinner was as wonderful as before with the same great service! I came in for a reservation and we were promptly seated at a beautiful table. Our server was knowledgable and very friendly. The restaurant is huge and it was bustling and very loud! Our group wasn't drinking but they were able to make my friend and I delicious mocktails which were priced extremely well. I was pleasantly surprised. My mac nut mahi mahi was soooo good. I wish I could have finished it because it was rich and delicious. Another guest ordered the ahi and was very happy. My husband ordered lobster and loved it. LOVE the new new ...Barbacoa feels but with an aquatic twist. Fresh Seafood Chowder - the picture on the menu was a little misleading at first, but the shrimp, clams and octopus pieces were exceptional. The fish and smoked bacon were ok. I was bummed there was no corn, but appreciate the seasonality of the dish. There is a slight blue cheese flavor which made this my husband's favorite chowder to date! 5+ stars!!! Tuna tartare - GET THIS!!! They say they fly in fish from Hawaii daily, so I'm guessing this tuna just arrived. Generous serving of fresh avocado, lovely mango, and the right amount of red onion, ponzu & sriracha aioli. The highlight was the pepper shreds on the top...not even mentioned on the menu but it made the dish pop! We noticed the next table ordered extra chips with theirs - do that. So yum. 5+++ stars! Macadamia Halibut - the pineapple sauce and mango beurre blanc are everything you want in this tropical dream. The pickled pepper garnishes spiced up the dish nicely too. The fish was a touch dry, but this is better than the alternative and really having a bad time. The purple sweet potato puree was good but I would had preferred more seasoning to complement the dish. 4.5 stars. Hot Rock Filet - love love love this fun and incredibly delicious filet. The flamed cognac sauce is so rich and tasty...make sure you ask to save some of it! You can eat it on your sides...and the optional lobster (which we recommend). The garlic mash was decent but we'll look forward to trying something else next time. That hot rock doesn't mess around, so if you're a slow eater make sure you take it off the rock so it's not well done at the end of your meal (my medium rare finished at medium well...still melt in your mouth delish tho). 5++ stars! Coconut Creme Brûlée - so huge! nice creamy smooth texture and very mild (almost undetectable) coconut flavor. Loved the shareable size and generous amount of berries. 5+ stars!! Carrot Cake - nice moist cake garnished with delicious fresh carrot. The cream cheese frosting was a great texture but tasted meh. Would had liked more candied pecan and caramel garnishes. The cake had a slight refrigerated taste - maybe this one isn't so popular? 3 stars. Complimentary Birthday Dessert - Yaaassss! Celebrate all birthdays here. Fun candle in a bunelo. Winning! We had Patrick and Garrett as our servers and they were A+. And of course, Corinne and Sean who are management came by and just made us feel loved and special. Chef Enrique even came out to say hello and we made sure to tell him how fantastic everything was. We had oysters and the tuna tar tar to start - all of us said we could have had a giant serving of the tar tar for dinner! My husband had the elk, and is still talking about it 15 hours later. My mama and I had the hot rock filet and they were melt in your mouth good. My daddio had the swordfish and his plate looked like he licked it clean. This place is so great from start to finish. Excellent service and ambiance. I had an aperol spritz drink (delicious). Just had appetizers (escargot) which tasted just ok but were extremely tiny and out of their shells,(I was expecting them still in their shells and served with garlic butter). Next I had the three beef sliders which were a bit dry but choked them down anyway. Got home and suffered terrible reflux, don't know why I became very ill, maybe it was my food choices. read more
