Very close to my parents home in Walnut and very close to Mt. Sac, somehow I always pass in the afternoons when this place is usually closed. They close after 1:30pm. So glad they were open and had loose bagels at 11:30am on a Friday morning. They are still not allowing customers to come all the way in their store. One door to order, one door to pick up. It also would be nice if they switched the doors because you can't really see the bagels from the ordering area door. You have to look at a hand written board to see what's available and if it's your first time you kinda want to look at the bagels first to see if it's worth it. Trusted the other yelp reviewers to just try them out, so I ordered a cheese bagel and a cinnamon raisin bagel. These were the last of their kind for the day. So I guess if you want a better selection come earlier. They slice the bagels in half so you can share easily. I don't think there are any other strictly "bagel" shops nearby. So I will go out on the limb here and claim this the best Bagel shop in Walnut. if you want to sit and eat here, there are some tables outside, but if it's cold or rainy just take it to go. read more

First timer with no regrets! I was really wanting an iced coffee the other day that wasn't going to make my pocket hurt. I wasn't in the mood to pay $6 for a coffee and end up being disappointed. I came across this place on Yelp and I decided to try it out. As soon as I ordered, the crowds came rolling in! I mean it got BUSY! This was around 10/11am. I ordered a blueberry bagel w/ cream cheese and a California club on a jalapeño cheese bagel. I also got a small iced coffee that did not hurt my pockets at all and I ended up finishing the whole thing! Wasn't too bitter at all. The blueberry bagel was flavorful and the cream cheese was plentiful! The California club was good as well. Best to eat same day rather than next day. My total came out to be around $15 and I had to wait about 10 minutes or less. Not sure who the cook was in the white chef coat but he was really running the show. Visited first time today. The posted opening hours are 8AM. The harried employee opened up about 8:10. Then I ordered 4 bagels and was told , "I don't sell just bread anymore. They come with cream cheese " he gave me a card. I guess for him to place 4 bagels in a bag without cream cheese, I have to call the day before and place an order. This doesn't make sense to me. I wanted it on a jalapeno cheese bagel, extra $1 added and I wanted to add an egg, that was an additional $2.75. Which was funny enough... literally had a sign outside the establishment said-- "Bagels". One of my staples was this bagel alone: - Nova salmon cream cheese in an aloha bagel That's it. That's all it took to keep me coming back atleast 4 times during the school week. Yes I spent quite the amount on bagels. I have been going here every Wednesday and Thursday with my boyfriend before school for a few weeks now and it is so good. Their cucumber avocado bagel is so delicious as well as their smoothies and hot drinks. I love the seating area that's outside, especially in the morning. It's nice to sit while you wait for your order. They're pretty quick on taking and giving you your order. This is a new favorite spot for my boyfriend and I. For one of my cousin's gatherings, I was in charge of picking up bagels. I thought no problem since we have so many good bagel locations in our area--however, they all seem to be closed on Sunday. Luckily, I ended up yelping and it led me to Clearwater. Arriving at Clearwater, there is a nice big parking area and a couple of people outside waiting for their order. I arrived at 8:45 am and there were only limited bagels available. I was only able to pick six bagels since I didn't pre-order them. It was hard cause I was not able to see what was available and felt bad for always asking the lady behind the counter. They definitely need a better system for this. For anyone coming here, and wanting to order more than 6 bagels, please order by phoning or emailing them. Due to the increased cost of ingredients, they only take pre-orders for larger amounts. After explaining that all bagels are made fresh in the morning and they didn't want anything to go to waste, I understand. It's hard times. On to the bagel, I enjoyed my bagels. I like the texture and how bouncy they were. I also really like how they pack on the ingredients. If you were eating an everything bagel, you knew it was everything bagel. I've stopped here a few times to grab some bagels and have always had a good experience. Food is always fresh, customer service is great, and the ambience is warm and inviting! Today I stopped in and ordered my usual four bagels - Two with cream cheese and two on the side to have for later. I was told that unless I order ahead (day before coming in), I have to buy cream cheese for every bagel. This was new to me. I understand not wanting to provide large quantities of loose bagels to ensure all customers are serviced but not being able to get two loose bagels on the side is ridiculous. I'm not going to go call a day a head for two bagels. Additionally, my total for the food and orange juice came out to be $27. The lettuce and tomato gave it a fresh taste. My husband got everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese which he really liked as well. We would return. Staff was nice. The reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is that they didn't have a restroom to use for customers. Went here for the first time on Friday. It was about an hour after they opened. The lady that took the order was speaking as if she was in a hurry just because a couple people started to come and stand in line. It's like girl calm down, it's my first time. Y'all have so many options. We back and forth due to miscommunication but that could of been avoided if she wouldn't had freaked out, get help because if that's going to be the service once you see a line forming then you'll lose customers. Stopped in this morning on my way to work! Cute little café, lots, and lots of decor! Love the smell of fresh bagels, so that was nice. Everybody was very nice and polite. That's where the two stores come in. Other than that, I wouldn't give them any stars, the food is extremely overpriced! $5.50 for a bagel with butter? That's ridiculous. I understand this is a family business and I understand things are handmade, but that is price gouging! And completely over the top. The bagel was nice and soft, but kind of tasteless. Very little butter was on there as well. And they don't give you anything on the side to add more butter. I would not recommend! My everything bagel was so delicious this morning that I felt another review had to be written. Seriously, this place is so impressive! I was wishing I had another bagel while I was eating my bagel. Slightly crunchy on the outside, light and soft on the inside, never dense or chewy. Just love love love this place so much! I was searching for a bagel place and stumbled upon this mom and pop shop in walnut. As I arrived here, there were a few people ahead of me which is usually a good sign that the food is going to be great! I had ordered a blueberry bagel with jalapeño cream cheese spread (for the wife) and a jalapeño cheese bagel with jalapeño cream cheese spread. I'll say that I could taste the blueberries on my wife's bagel and I loved the fact that they don't just put 1 jalapeños on the jalapeño bagel, they cover it in jalapeños which I cannot get over the fact that more places should be doing this too! Been coming to this spot for many years and through different owners. The. We couple had had it for a few years now and the quality is just as good as before. Awesome people and very kind. Bagels are always fresh and delicious and the home made cream cheeses are always on point. Pizza bagel is good and the egg bagels are great. The coffee is one of my favorites too. Good and strong. The fresh squeezed OJ is always good too. My only grief with this place is that you can not order more then 5 bagels without prior notice. I take some for work sometimes and can not buy for everyone. Their bagels are superb! The shop is clean and well-lit. I'd been thinking about this bagel shop all morning but was busy and since I now have to get to work at 7:30 am, I was bummed. I discovered that they DoorDash! Great! I can DoorDash pickup for breakfast and lunch! WIN! I tried to Doordash an order for pick-up and it wouldn't take PayPal, so I tried Venmo and that wasn't good. Then I tried a CC. Boom-success! I was excited! Then I got a message that the establishment wouldn't be open at the time I needed my order: at 10:15 am! Yelp and their Instagram account, say they're open. Their aloha bagel (toasted coconut and sugar) with jalapeño cream cheese is one of my favorites- perfect mix of sweet and spicy!! and their jalapeño cream cheese is actually full of real jalapeño chunks.. full of spice! :) gets pretty busy in the mornings but usually not too bad of a wait (but try to get here when they open at 8 am as people do start to line up before doors even open). I am really really sad. I had been coming to Clearwater Bagel for a long time, but since I had to watch my carb intake for the last few months, I had not been by for awhile. About a week ago, I asked my BF to pick us up lox bagels for breakfast.. when he got there he sent me a picture of the inside of the place. Huh?! Where's the asian man that normally runs the front of the cafe? It had a new look, with a guy behind the counter in a chef's outfit and new everything! My bf said the lox bagels were now $9.75.. I said, fine, so long as it is the same bagel, I don't mind. So he purchased them and brought them home (we are literally 3-4 blocks away). We are not picky eaters, and Clearwater Bagel has been my fave bagel place since I was little. My bf did not finish his lox bagel. He had started his first and told me the bagel was underbaked. I didn't entirely believe him, so I tried mine.. and sure enough, underbaked as well. He had gotten his on an everything bagel, and mine was whole wheat--so it wasn't just our types of bagel, it seems to be maybe all of them? I tore a piece of the bagel away from mine to make sure it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me... and sure enough, the middle of the bread was dark and damp, obviously underbaked, giving a gross squishy texture anytime we bit into the bagel. There was also only a single layer of lox on the bagel, not much for an almost $10 price tag. This is very disappointing. I may try again in a few months, but if this is a sample of what to expect from the new ownership.. I need to find a new bagel place. read more

One bagel with cream cheese thought it was pricey $5.15 I wanted to buy 12 bagels to take home and the owner wouldn't sell them alone I had to buy at 5.15 each because I have to buy 6 bagels with 6 cream cheese. I stopped by here for a Yelp Elite week perk but also to get another bagel on the side so I will be purely reviewing for that latter purchasing experience and also for the deliciousness of everything I got! I got a garlic bagel with nox and a sundried tomato bagel with an iced coffee. The garlic bagel was, dare I say, beautiful - it's not everyday you see a bagel with perfectly and evenly distributed bits of garlic. And the nox was tasty without being overpowering. I also really liked the iced coffee, which was smooth and just sweet enough. Also, kudos to the owner, who I witnessed enforce the no mask no service policy.
