Love their options and the space is clean and neat. It's nice how convenient everything is. Also they offer great specials like a free drink for purchases over $12 and 10% off student discount. Very much will recommend if you're in the area!

I love this Taiwanese bakery! I ordered a 10 inch mixed berry cake for my boyfriend's birthday, and it was a hit with his family and friends. The whipped cream was light and not too sweet, and the cake had a tender crumb. They also didn't skimp out on the fruit topping. Our cake had a plentiful topping of blueberries and strawberries. If you purchase $12+, you get a complimentary coffee or tea. Please support this local business! Their bread and cakes are delicious.

This bakery is in an unassuming little strip mall that doesn't seem too busy. I've been here at least twice and both times I've had the opportunity to peruse their selection of baked goods without any crowds. They have a great selection of baked and frozen goods. On this particular trip, we got a few pastries: pineapple bun, coconut bun, an almond puff pastry, pork sung bun and their take on a Hawaiian pizza. There were some hits and misses; the pineapple and pork sung buns were good, but I'll probably pass on the almond puff pastry and Hawaiian pizza next time. From their frozen section, they have steamed char siu buns that I've bought previously. I didn't get them this time around, though wish I did because they're great! Highly recommend. Their service is great; both times I've been here the people at the register were super friendly. And on a plus side, if you spend $10 you get a free iced jasmine green tea or coffee. Go for the tea, it's so good!

Delicious & scrumptious bread! I was craving something sweet and tasty & went on Yelp, looked through my bookmarks and decided to finally try this place out ! I went on a Sunday evening about an hour before they close. It was very calm and quiet. Plenty of parking. There was no music playing as I shopped but I didn't mind it. The bread looked great and I decided to try a couple out! I even got the vanilla waffle ice cream! It came out to a total of $15.50 + I got my free drink for spending more than $10. I brought it home & wow! The flavors are amazing! Everything was delicious ! I didn't get to take a picture of the coconut raising bread but that one is my favorite and I don't even like coconut and raisins - to me that says a lot about their bread! It's a definite must try! I can't wait to go back! Maybe I'll go in the morning so I can get it fresh and order some coffee :)

Stopped by on Saturday 07/27/24 for the first time (finally and surprisingly). I've heard of this bakery before but never had the chance to check it out till now. No customers, just me and fam. Quiet and small inside. ** FYI: If you spend a minimum $10 or more, you get free tea or coffee (hot or iced. I didn't know about this until my mom saw a small sign at the cashiers, so I brought it up. Not bad! I opted for the Ice Jasmine Tea - a bit sweet. Of note, couldn't sleep last night - tea was too strong I guess. **

convenient and affordable spot near the universities!! i walked twenty minutes just to grab a few pastries so that should tell u a lot about how great the food is. immediately on entry the spot is clean and organized. everything is individually wrapped so it's really easy to just grab and go if need be. the worker was patient as i took a while to pick out what i wanted and even told me about the matcha pop ups they have and student discounts. my total came out to around $5-6 dollars with the discount for everything on the tray and another bbq pork bun i grabbed off screen. as for the taste, i was blown away. the pork sung bun was immensely flavorful and had a nice fried scallion flavor. the toasted coconut roll wasn't too sweet and was a pretty hefty portion. ham roll could've used a more meat and cheese but i'm not mad since they give u two. a great close to campus option

I visited Uncle Chuang's Bakery on Thursday, 1/25/24, around 2:30 PM. What I liked about this bakery was the huge selection of baked goods. I decided to purchase Chocolate Chip Cookies, Coffee Cookies, Crème Brûlée, Mini Tiramisu Cake, Ham Cheese Danish, and a couple of Chocolate-dipped Strawberries. The total came out to $22, which was a good price point for everything. I even received a free iced tea, since I purchased over $10. I was able to try the Chocolate Chip Cookies, Strawberries, and Ham Cheese Danish. All of them were very tasty. I gifted the rest of the baked goods to my loved ones. They found the items to be enjoyably delicious. I recommend checking this bakery out. This place does not disappoint at all.

This tiny bakery doesn't have tables and chairs inside, but they sure make good pastries, bao buns, and cakes here. Yes, the place was much smaller than I had expected. Fortunately, the variety of items available were all very decent and everything looked sweet & delicious. We had the custard tart with strawberries, garlic cheese bun, pandan colored cake, yellow cake, etc. All were legit and good in taste. Bun quality is very good. I noticed that other buns/breads were all nicely wrapped too. They have good pastries. I want to eat the larger fruit cakes, but didn't have the appetite for the night. That's a must try for future visits. Young cashier was ready to ring us up. He waited patiently as we took our time looking around. Tiramisu? Cheesecake? All are delicious. They even have ice cream sandwiches for sale. I wish the store was much bigger. Decent tiny bakery with good delicious treats. If you're looking to grab a few good pieces of delicious breads and treats, then you won't be disappointed here.

This bakery has such cute bread! I was debating between the pineapple bun turtle and the Totoro bread and I ended up getting the Totoro bread. The insides are filled with blueberries and the bottom is dipped in chocolate. I got the last one left and it was delicious. The cashier was also super friendly and there is a 10% discount for students and they also have free coffee or tea if you order more than $10 worth of bread. I love checking out this bakery whenever I'm in the area.

My eldest daughter just turned 18 recently. Yes, I have an adult child now LOL. I am grateful and blessed. I wanted to get her a b-day treat. I'm constantly looking for new bakeries to try out. On my way to drop off my daughter at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP), I saw Uncle Chuang's Bakery at the University Plaza. I said I'll be back later to check you out LOL. And so we did after I picked up my daughter from CPP. What a lovely bakery shop! Very warm and welcoming. Clean and organized. Lots of variety in pastries, cakes, and buns. I find a handful of the pastries to be different and unique... some of the pastries were quite playful IMHO. In other words, whomever created them were creating them with a fun kid-like mindset! Very cool! The kid is always within us no matter how old we are LOL. We ended up getting the fluffy cake, almond puff pastry, tiramisu cake, chocolate silk napoleon, dipped chocolate roll cake, wife cake (still wondering when the husband cake is going to show up LOL), and mango mousse cake. So far we've eaten the tiramisu and wife cakes. The tiramisu was fantastic... whipped cream was delicious... however, the cake needs to be lighter and fluffier IMHO. Wife cake was not bad... filling was perfectly sweetened. I'm looking forward to eating the other pastries/cakes that we bought. Staff was pleasant. One of the ladies behind the counter was on her first day at work. Her first day, our first visit... how wonderful is that! She did an excellent job... best of success to you! Thank you for the great service. Prices are very reasonable... perfect for college students. Atmosphere is just lovely. We'll definitely be back to try their other goodies. Btw, they offer one free drink with purchase of $10 or more... sweet! We got the iced green tea... it was okay... just a tad sweet for me. P.S. Thank you Uncle Chuang for sharing your heart-warming story on "How Uncle Chuang's Came To Be". We are so grateful to you and your daughter for bringing great tasting pastries and cakes to our local communities especially near CPP and UC Riverside. Keep up with your sweet and savory craft!

Chocolate strawberry cake, unfortunately, the berries were spoiled.

I had no idea Uncle chuang's had two locations. So I decided to buy a cake from this location for our youngest son's birthday. We got the chocolate strawberry cake 10 inch. This location is a lot smaller than the original location in Riverside. They also don't carry all the same goodies. The young ladies helping me were super friendly and welcoming. The inside is very inviting and well maintained. Cute set-up it's super clean, which is always a plus. The pastries I purchased were delicious, and the cake was beautiful. Unfortunately, after cutting into the cake, we were super disappointed. The berries were overripe and spoiled. So needless to say, it was a birthday buzzkill. I'm definitely going to the original location and not this one.

I love this place so much! It is right down the road from school and I go here every other week! I have tried almost everything but my favorite are the pigs in a blanket! The taro and cream buns are tasty too! Also spend $10 (I spend like 30 lol) and you get a free iced tea. The flavor is fantastic! The place is quaint and always very clean!!! Always kind workers and I just love it!

Lotus egg yoke, red bean moon cake, green bean puff pastry cake

Uncle chuang's moon cakes are delicious! So fresh and not too sweat. The flaky consistency and texture of puff pastry from green bean puff cake are just right. You take a bite and it just melts in your mouth. The lotus egg yoke cake are so fresh. Definitely taste the home made quality and freshness. Love them!

Does this bakery carry cocktail/milk buns? They're easy to find in NorCal but I can't find any bakeries in SoCal that sell them, and they're a classic Hong Kong treat!

Yes, my son love the milk buns. Call ahead in case they ran out your not wasted time driving there

    Are there vegan options here?

Not sure cause I always buy there BBQ pork buns; sons love there milk bun pastries. Best to call (909)468-1075. The employees at the cashiers can answer if they have that vegan option

Since then, I've gladly driven 20 minutes just to pick up their bread, it's that good. Their Mexican sweet bread is consistently fresh and flavorful; the crumb on that bread is impressive. I was so impressed that I ordered 45 conchas as a thank-you for celebrating with us gift for my son's wedding. They were a huge hit. Beyond the pan dulce, my husband and I have tried their burritos, carne asada, and carnitas, and everything has been absolutely delicious. We even ordered cabeza and lengua for my brothers, and they were just as impressed, especially with the flavor and the freshness of their flour tortillas. I also ordered a cake for a party and served it at the restaurant; it stole the show. It was so good that our waiter had a slice himself and asked where we bought it. From their bread and cakes to their savory dishes, this bakery consistently delivers quality and flavor. I highly recommend them.

Upon receiving the tamales, I noticed the wrapper was different and asked for clarification as to what he gave me - he said two pork and two chicken. I asked him for corn and he told me they didn't have any. Then, I asked him to switch out the two pork and give me all chicken tamales as I don't eat pork. I called in a few days ago to order an 8" strawberry cake for my husband's birthday and requested no almonds on the side since my kids are allergic. I went to pick it up today and found the bakery in an Asian shopping plaza next to the Asian market. They had a few buns in the shelf as you walk in, so I picked up a coconut bun to try (only $1.50! Yay!). The interior is bare bones, with a few dusty fake cakes for display. The bakery shelves are covered up since they don't seem to sell anything besides cakes and a few buns. We ate the cake tonight but I was silently crying tears inside. While the sponge cake itself was nostalgically good, I noticed that there were barely any strawberries in the cake. It's summer and full on strawberry season, so to see that they were so skimpy on the strawberries was a major disappointment. This has got to be the saddest Asian strawberry cake I've ever had. In. My.life. All of our slices of cake had a sliver of strawberry hiding in a massive amount of cream (I guess to make the cake look bigger and taller). I ordered a strawberry cake, not a cream cake with a strawberry garnish. I added an extra star for the cake quality, but am not a fan of the excessive cream-to-cake ratio or the lack of strawberries in the filling. There are better Asian cakes available on the other end of the 10, so I won't be back. Cash only. Also, fyi, this bakery is in a neighborhood where I saw 5 scantily clad prostitutes walking the streets (at 2:00 in the afternoon) and about 6 homeless people were hanging out in the plaza a few feet away from the bakery.
