I had high hopes for Puffect Bakery, but unfortunately the macarons were really underwhelming. We tried a variety of flavors including Thai tea, raspberry, mango, cookies and cream, strawberries and cream, coffee, and earl grey. Across the board, they were pretty tasteless and bland. Most of them just tasted like sugar with only a very subtle hint of flavor. Out of all of them, the coffee had the "strongest" flavor, but even that was still quite mild. On top of that, the experience wasn't great. The owner came across as rude, which made the visit even less enjoyable. Finally got the chance to stop by since I always drive by and wondered what kind of product they have. Service was super friendly and helped me pick out macarons for a birthday gift, they were each $5 totaling to $30 for a box of 6. The woman would not sell me a rice Krispy treat and told me that they are samples. I asked for a sample. She said that they come with a cupcake or macaroon. I bought a cupcake and a macaroon and then she said that they only come with cakes. I asked for three different kinds of macaroons that she had on display. One kind was available. I'm impressed with their macarons and love their cute name. The macarons have a nice soft and chewy texture, and you can taste the cream well. I had their macarons from a house party, and they made for an aesthetic and tasty touch to the dessert table. I've only eaten macarons a handful of times, but the ones from Puffect made me realize how good they can taste. I found Puffect Bakery while browsing Google Maps to see what was around Aroma Craft Coffee. I was expecting a typical bakery and not a sweets tailored experience. I wasn't too big a fan of sweets, so I struck up conversation with the worker and ordered her favorite, the chicken pesto panini. I wasn't expecting too much, but there were a few tastes I noticed The chicken pesto panni was a fair size for a sandwich. I don't think it is a commonly ordered item, since the panini press had to be plugged in and heard the microwave going shortly after. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with how good the pesto chicken tastes. The rotisserie chicken was moist and tasty, unlike the Costco ones that are overly salted. The pesto and ingredients inside were great too. My only disappointment was the bread, which didn't taste stale but didn't taste too fresh either. It was fairly dry and crumbly. Years ago I had a not so great experience at this cafe. I believed we ordered macarons and we checked in for a free tea. The tea ended up tasting like slightly bitter grass water and the macarons were all terribly crumbly, despite eating them immediately from the box. We came back here since we were waiting for our pizza across the street. Unfortunately when we came in, the "top menu" was not available, so there were no drinks for that day. We got the salted caramel cupcakes since we were craving a sweet dessert. The icing and salted caramel drizzle was super yummy on top, but I felt that the amount really overpowered the size of the actual cup cake itself, which was just okay. Randomly stopped by this place while waiting for our food at the Curry Pizza Company, and I don't regret it! We got the raspberry macaron, thai tea macaron, and samoas cupcake. I preordered some food and drinks online for a Saturday pick-up, so it was super easy when I arrived to get my items since I already paid online and selected the items. There was a separate section for pick-up outside at the EZ-up tent and there was no line for my pick-up timeslot. I ordered a vanilla cupcake with strawberry jam filling and two drinks: hibiscus butterfly pea tea and dalgona coffee. They were decorated for a themed event and tasted just as great as they looked! I'm so happy this placed hosted an event for ARMYS in celebration of BTS Jin's birthday! They had a Jin themed menu of desserts and drinks. The macarons were so cute! They made a KORE, RJ, and ARMY bomb design. A single macaron was $3.50, but $9.75 for all 3 macarons. Of course I had to order all 3 macarons because they were just so cute. I also had the "This Night" drink which was pretty much a white hot chocolate with lavender. This drink was sooooo delicious. At first, I feared it would be too sweet (which it was) but it definitely tolerable. I like that they use real white chocolate as well. I stopped in on Monday 8/12/24 to pick up something sweet. Ordered 2 cupcakes. 1 vanilla with strawberry frosting and the other one was salted caramel. Paid $9.50 for 2 cupcakes. When I tried them both were super dry and crumbing apart. Flavor was super mid. For the price of these cupcakes, they should at least be fresh and not old and falling apart. I'm an average Joe. A dozen donuts from the local shop kind of guy when it comes to sweets. It was my nephews birthday, I thought I'd surprise him with something special. Now mind you, I'm an average Joe. If I get the fancy donuts, it goes up to $14 a dozen. But what is done is done and I take my cupcakes. Now at $3.50 a piece I'm going to expect a lot. Well, it wasn't much to look at, half didn't look any fancier than the kind you by at the local supermarket. When I took a bite, the whipped swirled topping tasted like straight butter. The cupcake was drier than expected. Maybe my pallet isn't refined, but I'm going to say a $1.25 fancy donut beats these cupcakes. They're fresher, tastier, and cheaper. Granted the cupcake box was nicer. Just to be fair, because you can't compare apples to oranges, err cupcakes to donuts. I Yelped for other cupcake bakeries. One showed the next town over. It was about a dollar less and definitely looked like something I couldn't make. Can't vouch for the freshness, so I'll just have to visit. I don't write reviews often because I have little time to spare (tells you how motivated and upset I was about this experience), and I also hate to write less than stellar reviews, but I do want to share my honest opinion for those that are interested in the macarons. I'm sad to say that I am disappointed in the dozen that I bought. They look nice, and the cookie texture and crunch was fine, but the flavors were non existent. I didn't bother to ask what was each flavor was before bringing it home because I was so confident that I would be able to tell each flavor apart by taste. Five of us (me, mom, aunt, sister, friend) we were so excited to try each flavor but not of us could distinguish one from another. The ONLY one that I was able to define flavor in was the one with cinnamon. It was ok, not exceptional, I was only able to taste cinnamon, and I don't know what was the intended dessert profile. So if you're going to pick a flavor I guess pick this one. Could not figure out which one was Earl Grey. I'm so sad...$30 bucks pretty much down the drain. Also, it was a gift for my sister's Master's graduation so I'm also a bit embarrassed that I gifted it to her. I've seen from Yelp photos that they make cute character macarons. So if you're just looking for something to floss on social media, it's fine. If you are looking for flavor, I urge you to look somewhere else. (notice that we didn't event bother trying the remaining four. I didn't want to go through any more heartache.) 1 star for texture/crunch/cinnamon. 1 star for nice packaging. I am so over trying to buy an egg waffle from this place. I've gone here 3 times. I've attached proof of my visits. The first time I went, the girl said sorry they don't have it and to call ahead next time. I was like ok, it's later in the day I came at 3pm. Tomorrow, I'll come in earlier. I came the next day at around 1pm, spoke to an older lady who I assume to be the owner, she said they are busy with Halloween events and do not have time to make egg waffles. I was like ok, I'll come in the next day when they open. On the 3rd time, a younger girl, told me they're too busy to make egg waffles. Maybe they shouldn't advertise they're selling egg waffles and take it off their menu. I also feel like I am bothering them when I come in like other yelpers mentioned. The cupcakes are overpriced at $4 and it's a little bigger than a mini cupcake, not worth it and tasted dry. The Nutella macaron was good but at $3, maybe $1.50-2 is fair. If I go back, I wanna try their smoothie and maybe a sandwich but I feel like it could be a burden for them to make it. Owner, if you're reading this you need to make some changes. If you are short staff, hire one more person or find another location with cheaper rent. I feel like there's no excuse as to why you are refusing to make an item. Except for the fact that they're the owner and they make the rules. Do as you please since you're the owner, but be warned, I will take my business elsewhere. These circular treats come out of the fridge once ordered so they need a little time to unthaw. Most of the treats are flavorful but some don't live up to the taste they're featuring.I ordered a Samoa cupcake and that really lived up to my expectations of a specialty cupcake. One can also customize macaroons for any future events one may have. The atmosphere is perfect if you love white noise. It's as silent as a courtroom handing down a tabloid like verdict. Plenty of nice plush seating but not enough to keep me there and hearing myself chew. The service was semi friendly and expected a little more from a non chain bakery.
