My partner has been on a sweet potato kick. From a guy who opts out of potatoes except for fries, he suddenly discovered the flavors of sweet potato. I thought, what about a sweet potato cake. Found two Korean bakers that had sweet potato cakes on the menu. It was kismet this bakery was just down the street from a restaurant we chose for his birthday dinner. I called and the owners took down my name and the fact I'll be there around 7 at night. Didn't even take down payment info or number. I got there a little after 7 & saw they had sweet potato cakes left. Reasonably priced too! $40 for larger and $30 for smaller. I thought $30 would work for just 4 of us but for $10 extra, my partner thought we should splurge. The owner remembered me from the phone call and addressed me by name. While his wife was ringing me up, her husband came up to me with a bag of bread to throw in. That was so sweet. With their service, variety and price point, we'll be back. The cake was delicious too. Not sure how cold their display is but the cream filling in the middle was just cold enough to taste like soft serve ice cream. Intentional or not, it was delicious! read more

Fist time and last time coming here. Fist: Please change the wording of your Yelp Check In promotion to "buy a cake" instead of "any purchase. That is very confusing. This older lady assisted me with payment specifically said a cake need to be purchased to redeem. I'm okay without any Yelp Check in and would still support local business as usual but please no click bait and false advertising. First time I encountered this. There was not anyone at the bakery section of the supermaket when we entered. After I grabbed a few items to purchase, an older lady came out and kept looking my way like I was going to run out of the store with their pastries. I noticed they use simple ingredients which I like in pastries but overall experience was not positive. Well, I finished making my selection and walked up to the register to pay. This little bakery is such a hidden gem, tucked away in the corner of a supermarket. We purchased a wide variety of their pastries, as well as two cakes - one large and one small - as some gifts for a friend and his family nearby. The bakery is family owned and the owners helped us and were SO nice and sweet! They have a surprisingly large selection of Korean pastries, breads, and decorative cakes available - definitely on par with bakeries like 85° for example. And they do pre-ordered custom cakes as well. We grabbed a small Panda Cake bc it was just way too cute to pass up haha! And a large Mixed Berry Cake bc it was so beautiful and elegant - sure to make an impressive gift. We also grabbed quite a few different pastries for the gift basket and some for ourselves of course lol! Our friend and his family absolutely loved the cakes - they were so impressed! And we all enjoyed everything we tried - I especially loved the Powdered Donut with Yellow Creme - such a soft, smooth texture, light flavors and not too sweet - very excellently made. The Strawberry and Creme bun was good too but a little too much creme for my preference - still a nice flavor though and the strawberries were definitely fresh. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality- especially for the cakes - they run between $25-$40 and are so good - also large portions too. And the sweet couple that own the shop just couldn't be nicer! They trip over themselves trying to help and make sure you leave very satisfied- even in spite of the language barrier lol! And if you buy a cake, they give you some extra pastries to say thank you lol. Their location is a tad random lol - You'll find them inside Market World which is a huge Asian supermarket full of random little shops all along the edges and there's even a restaurant inside. Bonjour Bakery is located to the far right as you walk in. There's plenty of parking in the large shopping plaza and lots of other shops as well. This bakery is located within the Market World. Owned by a nice friendly Ajeossi, it a lot of options for pastries, bread, & cakes. He will give you a couple of free pastries if you make a cake purchase. I've come here a few times already & they for the cakes & they're usually priced around $25-35. I even called to order a large cake for maybe 15-20 people which was about $70, which isn't too shabby. Be sure to give at least a day's notice for anything custom. They sent me 7 "bean cookies" and something else I can't identify which I would never have ordered with a "friendly" note saying they were out of stock on Multi-Grain Cookies. I do not normally spend over $30 on bakery cookies and this was a greedy and inappropriate way to do business. I will never order from Bonjour Bakery again. read more

Been here a few times and I have to say it's my go to spot for matcha cake. I usually call a day ahead to pre-order cake. Please note there might be a slight language barrier when calling in so please be patient if they don't understand you the first time. There's either a gentle old man or nice lady that will assist you. They will usually give you a pastry with each cake purchase. The matcha cake has just the right amount of sweetness and fluff to the cake. I highly recommend this to any matchaholics out there. read more

The bakery is located inside the Hannam Chain Market World supermarket. Saw the high reviews on both Yelp and Google, so I decided to give it a shot and ordered a birthday cake, but I regretted it. The Paris Baguette next door probably would have been so much better in terms of both food and service. I placed my order for an 8" cake over the phone a couple of days in advance to pick up over the weekend, but when I arrived at the pick up time, there was no cake ready and it looked like they didn't even have any record of my order. In a bind and short on time, I had to purchase a smaller pre-made 6" cake on the spot from their display case and provide the cake message to the staff again. Not a great experience already. Also, the staff mainly speak Korean, so if you don't speak the language, communication may be an issue. In terms of the cake, it was definitely subpar as well. Texture was soft, but not as moist as it could/should have been. And the mixed berry filling was still FROZEN when served which made cutting the cake (with the provided plastic cake knife) difficult and the cake itself hard to eat. Still giving 2 stars for their last minute effort to try to put something together and the lady seemed to want to make up for things by giving me a free pastry bun. But based on my overall experience, the business is not reliable and the cake wasn't even that tasty, so it really doesn't deserve anything beyond that. read more

Located within a supermarket, you'll just need to enter and go all the way to the right corner of the store and ring the bell if staff is busy in the back. This bakery is adorable and has a wide array of breads and sweets, ranging from cookies, to baguettes, loafs, and of course birthday cakes. I'd ordered the mixed berry cake, which was beautiful, delicious, and reasonably priced. It was also more than enough for a large gathering. The lady who was taking my order was so sweet and even gave free birthday candles, along with a couple baked goods on the house. This bakery pretty much had good review so I decided to order two layers wedding cake for my mother in law. I don't regret when picked up the cake even the owner speaks little English, their are very friendly and nice. They gave me extra breads twice, which I did not expect that. The price very decent, ordered two flavors mocha and vanilla strawberry turned out the cake has one flavor vanilla strawberry only, you may need to keep remind them in case they forgot or missed the note but it's not a big deal for me I like the cake very delicious not too sweet just perfect of flavors. This bakery is solid! It is tucked inside the Hannam Chain on the right when you walk inside, however don't be fooled by the appearance. I came to get a tiramisu cake for a birthday and was skeptical at first. Once I told him my order, he told me it would be some time since he would get me fresh cake. I decided to wait around and look at his pastry offerings and shop around. Once he came out, he thanked me for waiting, packed my order with care, and even asked the occasion and who it was for, to which he gave me a Happy Birthday plaque, candles, and a knife. After I paid, he gave me two free pastries as a gesture for thanking me for waiting! The tiramisu cake was nice and light and my friends really enjoyed it! The pastries were also delicious. TIP: If the owner isn't in the front, he is in the back working. There is a white button you can press near the register to get his attention. I understand some of the negative experiences on service because of people's expectations with higher-end chain-ran American bakeries, but this is a mom & pop bakery store ran by Korean immigrants, where the culture is to grab someone's attention for service. The bakery worker even went to the back to retrieve it and decorated it with a little snowman :) the cake sponge was a tiny bit dry, but the light whipped cream frosting added moisture to it. It was not too sweet and my whole family enjoyed it. We were also impressed that the 6in cake was only $25 when it would've easily been $30+ at other locations. I needed to buy a cake and found this bakery via Yelp. I am new to the area so am always looking to find my new go to places. This place had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. Bonjour Bakery is a little shop tucked away inside a Korean supermarket, so if you're trying to find a sign for it, you won't find one outside. I went to pick up a sweet potato cake, they offer two round sizes, a small one (6"), and a larger one (I think 8-9"). I got the small one. I was greeted by an older gentleman who didn't really speak English, but we managed to communicate what I wanted. The lady who worked there decorated the cake I picked out beautifully. Both were very nice people. Of course I can never go into a bakery and not walk out without buying a bunch of baked goods to try. The cake case had a variety of beautiful cakes, and the shelves were full of different baked goods, some I was unfamiliar with. I appreciated that they listed the ingredients on the name tags so I knew what items to avoid (due to my children's allergies). I picked up a coffee bread, mocha, cream bread, corn bread, red bean mochi, sweet potato pastry, and cheese pastry. I checked in on Yelp to get a free bread, and the owner also gifted me with another free bread. So nice! I sampled a little of everything when I got home and everything tasted fresh and so delicious! Not too sweet or heavy. The sweet potato cake had a unique flavor. Kind of like taro, but not really. It was surprisingly good! I'm a frequent customer of 85 degrees, Sunmerry and Paris Baguette, but this delightful little bakery has impressed me and will be seeing more of me in the future! Bonjour Bakery is run by a kindly elderly Korean couple and is definitely one of Diamond Bar's best "hidden gems" as it is literally hidden in a corner within Hannam Korean Market. There is a really wide assortment of low priced pastries here, my favorite being the peanut bun with a red bean filling. But where Bonjour really gives you an incredible bang for the buck are their cakes, which are not too sweet, not too ornate, but just right. And when I meant just right, I also mean you're getting a soft cake with fresh fruit that looks simple and elegant.
