bought a cake for birthday but the fruit on the top is moldy, inside fruit taste like gone bad. the price is as high as other big brand bakeries like 85c bakery, but the quality has no guarantee. and sometimes they didn't allow me to use card because I didn't buy a lot of stuff, they want cash, that's ridiculous. NOT RECOMMEND. read more

It's about time I reviewed this place. I was on a hunt for a taro cake for a while for my birthday cake and I finally came across my first one here at Nini. I walked in and, luckily, they had a vanilla cake with taro available that very day. It was layers of fresh taro paste between spongy vanilla cake. The cream on the outside wasn't too sweet and neither was the inside - the ultimate compliment of "not too sweet." I came back the next day to get the taro mochi bread because they gave me a $1 coupon with the cake and I was still really craving a taro pastry. I loved it. I also came back again for another birthday cake. This time, I got the vanilla cake with strawberry and pudding, which was a hit amongst everyone. I personally did not like the pudding, but everyone else did. The cream was surprisingly my favorite part, with how airy and slightly sweet it was, complementing the soft vanilla sponge cake very well. The workers are also always nice and very quick to help me. read more

Cake is so soft and fluffy. With the egg prices soaring, the crispy sheet cake is now $30. Additional taro filling would be $40. It's still worth it though because the quality is still the same. They didn't cut corners when making this classic cake. Make sure you place the order at least 2 hours before pickup. The customer service was quick and friendly! read more

Stopped here a few times in the past. Really small bakery and it feels really tight inside as soon as we walk in. However, their pastries have been solid every time we get it. No complaints at all. Decent parking in the plaza. read more

A favorite little bakery in Rowland heights! Clean interior and they always have a bunch of fresh bread, cakes, and buns in the morning. I love ordering the crispy layer sponge cake that's perfect for parties and gatherings. It has layers of crispy sheets, butter cream, and the softest sponge cake. Perfect amount of sweetness and perfectly cut into rectangles. Best to enjoy on the same day while the layers are still crispy! 16 pieces are $24 and they gave me an adorable Happy Father's Day sign too. Just be sure to call them 2 hours in advance before pickup so they make it fresh! The ladies at the front are always super friendly. I think if you spend $40, you get a $1 coupon to use on your next visit! read more

I bought my husband's birthday cake here, not knowing what to expect. I purchased the mango white cake and it was delicious. The cake itself was moist, not too sweet and the fruits on top were very fresh. The frosting was also just right for people who don't like heavy and sweet frosting found in typical American bakeries. I will definitely be buying the next cake from them and try a different flavor. read more

I love this place. Yeah the breads and stuff are good but check the fridge for Gua Bao. The yummiest braised pork belly sandwiches. You'll need to warm and assemble at home but they give you everything you need including the crushed peanuts and pickled veggies! If you're a "not too sweet" girly and don't like too much whip cream like me, order the crispy taro cake! It's not pretty like most birthday cakes and even the small size is very large but it's so good and always gets gobbled up by family when we bring it to gatherings. Service is fine and it looks a little shabby but the food is very much worth it. read more

My hubby wanted a classic Chinese fruit cake. This means the cake is filled with fresh fruit, uses light and fluffy sponge cake, and has the smoothest buttercream. Nini's Bakery came through! Most Chinese bakeries offers some kind of fruit cake, but not all bakeries make them well. The fruit cake was filled with fresh mangos and strawberries. The sponge cake was light, airy, and slightly sweet. At $36, it's not cheap for an 8" cake. But I highly recommend Nini's Bakery if you're looking for that classic Chinese fruit cake taste! read more

I would give a zero star if i could. I ordered a crispy taro cake and had my husband to go pick it up. They were busy and gave us the cake and said it was what we ordered crispy taro cake. They didnt care and bothered to double check! My husband drove 1 hr home and saw it was only cake, no taro, none! I called next day and the owner had a terrible attitude and said they were busy and it was our fault not to look for TARO in the cake at the store! Stopped in for a couple of items prior to my kids' basketball game at the park nearby. I wasn't familiar with most of the items so I asked a lot of questions but beware that the staff really doesn't speak English at all. I chose three items and my total came to $9.90. The woman explained to me that any charges under $10 incur of 50 Cent fee. I asked her if she could pardon that and told her that was pretty ridiculous and bad customer service but she just laughed and said there was nothing she could do . This small gesture would have kept a customer, but due to her lack of interest in accommodating me, and in a minimal and reasonable manner, I surely wouldn't return . read more

read more

Legit have been to this bakery a number of times and it has been in the hood for probably even longer but it for real wasn't until this freaking delicious 燒餅 that prompted me to write this review Get it fresh in the morning. You can have it with beef or eggs. I like the eggs for my morning breakfast, usually I get beef at other restaurants. It is so good. Feels like I have a well balanced breakfast, keeps me full and ironically "healthy" Much better than those McDonald, Starbucks muffin choices... and I believe it's around the same price. The crispy outside is so yummy, that when it falls to the bottom of the bag, I put the bag to my mouth like I would when I'm eating a bag of delicious chips. I want ever last bite Do it! You won't regret it... or if you do... you don't enjoy true Taiwanese style bread read more

Good bread, decent prices. But watch out for shady overcharging when checking out. Bought 6 buy one get one free items, so should only charge for three items, agree charged me for four. When brought up, she counted and still charged me for four. Finally she counted again and realized she overcharged, she refunded. But still overcharged me $4 for only charging me on the large items and get smaller for free when it's 4 large and two small, you should charge 2 large and 1 small pricing for the BOGO free. I have to admit I've only had the crispy sponge cake from here...but we've ordered it once or twice a year for the past few years and it's great every time. The pillowy softness of the sponge cake combined with thin crispy layers and light sweet cream is simple and enjoyable. I love that it's not too sweet and dense, although I do like Asian cream fruit cakes as well. A half sheet for $36 is reasonable and they can sometimes accommodate last minute orders. I've ordered a week in advance, a couple days in advance, and even two hours in advance and they still have it ready and delicious. They offer a full sheet for $72 but I can't imagine how gargantuan a full sheet size must be. read more

One of my favorite Asian bakery in Rowland Heights. Good cakes/ breads and prices! Highly recommend their birthday cake( you can choose flavors of vanilla, chocolate or coffee etc.) . They have limited custom designs on the birthday cake, but simple is good. Their whipped cream is light and fluffy and the cake itself is soft , moist, not too sweet. Coffee cake is my favorite! Their vanilla cake with taro and pudding filling also very good! Variety of breads are freshly made everyday. Multigrain tuna bread, breakfast sandwich, white toast are pretty good! Taiwanese snack food are available here - steamed buns( meats or veggies) , stir fried vermicelli, rice dumplings, turnip cakes , gua bao( pork belly bun) and more. I would give zero stars if I could. On Sept 19, 2025 around 4:30 pm, I bought something at this store. The front cashier a woman with a low ponytail was very rude slamming things on the counter and sounding impatient the entire time. I didn't catch it at first, but my mom later told me she even said "shit" right in front of me. Extremely disappointing and not the kind of service a bakery should provide. Nini Bakery has opened for 20+ years, but I never thought about visiting them because it wasn't very attractive from its looking. Such a small and old business with ordinary fruit cakes. Plus, I am so used to other popular places with fancy cakes. However, my family happened to look for traditional fruit cake and we decided to try it out; especially they had taro cake. They were amazing! We got two cakes: vanilla cake with strawberries and vanilla cake with taro fillings. I love them both; so does my family. The cakes were very fresh including the fruits. The taro cake was a little heavy but for taro lovers, the thick taro paste was so satisfying. I will recommend this place to people loves traditional vanilla cake with cream. They also have other pastries and I can't wait to go back and try them. read more

Time arrived: 12:30pm on a Sat Crowd: no one was there Service: it was fine. They greeted us and let us browse around Food: there were a variety of different typical Chinese or Hong Kong style bakery. There were a few baked goods I don't think I've encountered before so it was nice to try a few new things. There is a lot less food as these bakeries are busiest early in the morning so we didn't get the full scope of options. The food was all behind see-through doors and you slide out the drawer to grab what you want so it's pretty hygienic for the most part. I think overall, majority of the food is made in house except for a few items. Main ingredients you'll see in these options would be hard boiled egg, ham, garlic, pork sung etc. Nothing too fancy. Still good eats. Inside: the place is very small and narrow tucked between two other stores. We missed it the first time when trying to search for it. The place is pretty dimly lit and the place itself isn't as 'clean' and 'sparkling' like some chain places are but that's fine. But it definitely has better baked good options (for me) compared to a place like 85c° Hope this helps :) read more

I'm very disappointed for their cake this time! I've been ordered their cake for many years and today is the last time for sure. I ordered a 10 inches cake and the way they packaged the cake made me so mad and the worst thing was the fruit mango not fresh at all. My parents got me a birthday cake from Nini Bakery. I had heard about Nini for a while and had been wanting to try it. It lived up to the reputation and delivered. We got a Chocolate Cappucino Mousse Cake. I was worried it might be too sweet, but it wasn't at all. It was not overwhelming, but still chocolate-y enough where you could appreciate the chocolate flavor of it. The coffee taste was very subtle. The blueberries and blackberries were also very tart and a nice accent to the sweetness of the cake. I would definitely come back to try their other pastries some time. read more
