I love Asian cake! Located in a one story plaza lined with other shops, it is that one store sticking out at the end of the flush stores, cannot be missed! The fresh whipped cream, fresh fruits and light fluffy cake are some things I dream about in a good dessert. The shop does look a little old but the taste of their bread and cake makes up for the appearance. The selection is a lot better during the day as they constantly produce new stuff out. Great place to get affordable baked goods, sandwiches and drinks. Milk tea was ok but the bakery goods are on par with a Sunmerry or similar bakery. I regret having my wedding cake done here. My cake looked like it belonged on the Nailed It! tv show. SO ugly and only rescued by my cake topper. I showed the owner several reference pictures and described my cake in detail, and every time he acted like it was no problem for them to execute. I asked for a shimmery, edible glitter. Instead, they used coarse sugar. (see picture) I asked for rosette frosting. Instead, they used the wrong piping nozzle and piped ugly swirls. (see picture) When I finally saw my cake during my wedding reception, I wanted to die of embarrassment. It looked like some kid just went crazy with a frosting pipe. The "flowers" were very sloppy, lopsided, and downright ugly. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is that the cake tasted fine. I've gotten 5-6 cakes from here the last couple of years and have been consistently good. One question I get asked all the time from ppl that tasted the cake for the first time is "where did you get it from? It's sooo good!" Delicious as always and reasonably priced! Taiwanese bakery with fresh baked goodies daily! Though, it also depends on the time of day when you visit. Sometimes if you're there in the morning, some of their bread is freshly baked, out of the oven, while others seems to be bread from the previous day. Not a huge deal breaker, unless you were looking for fresh, warm baked goodness. They do continue to package and roll out batches of fresh bread throughout the day though. They follow the more traditional Taiwanese route for their breads and cakes, which is what we love. No need to be new, fancy, and not taste good. Everything is made from quality ingredients and they sell out of certain kinds of bread if you get there too late in the afternoon! Once you walk into the bakery, there is a display case of trays, tray paper, and tongs. Grab yourself a plastic round tray, place a brand new tray paper on top of your tray, and away you go to browse the shelves of baked goods with your tongs! Do NOT touch the unpackaged bread with your fingers, no matter how clean you think they are. Sanitary for everyone! I just dare you to come out with just with one piece of bread or only what you intended to purchase; because you'll probably end up buying more due to the mouthwatering smell throughout the bakery and the deliciousness of every baked good emanating on display throughout the shelves. All the workers have always been quite helpful and friendly. Never had an issue with customer service. Parking lot is a bit tight, but usually one can find parking right in front of their store, or just a tad bit further. As I write this, I'm in another food-induced coma incurred by Nini Bakery. I'm happy to say that the consistency of the service, flavours, and creativity is the same now as it has been for the several years that my family have been customers. Maybe there is some sentiment that I have towards Nini Bakery because they did make our wedding cake several years ago. But hubby and I are foodies, and we're truly only loyal to a brand if they are always showing the same quality work they've always done. While I've had their sandwiches, macarons, breads, and buns, hubby and I really only come here for their cakes. Now I've heard of the elusive pig or crab bread of this bakery. Usually it's gone by the time I'm in there, but on that day I went with some friends and we found some, yea! But what it this? It's shaped a bit different, one of my friends was thinking of an octopus with a deformed head but not enough legs; so crab it was. Now, we were pretty bummed that there was no filling but it was pretty good as it was. The body was soft but the legs were a bit dried out. I also saw some chocolate buns. Three in a bag for $1.10 The chocolate bun was moist and not too sweet with some chocolate sprinkles baked on top of it. We had a company birthday in the morning, so I ordered breakfast sandwiches for everyone the day before. Under COVID restrictions, I wanted everything already separated individually. One of my aunties gave me an entire box of goodies from this place. I like the fact that they weren't super sweet, but I'm not a huge fan of Asian style breads and sweets so I guess I wasn't completely blown away by the stuff. I'm guessing that if you get the items fresh, they would definitely taste immensely better. My box of goodies were from yesterday so obviously the taste wasn't going to be as good as if I had bought it fresh out of the oven and straight into my mouth. Still, after heating up this particular one (which has an omelet in it as well as the pork sung), it tasted alright. The little ball like things which aren't buns, but has those flaky exteriors are usually filled with sweet items, but this particular one I had was filled with a curry filling. There were a few black sesame seeds on top. This was seriously yummy! I think if they were hot and fresh I'd probably die eating it. PS: OMG I tried the other stuff and they were all really good -- the savory stuff -- and this was not fresh from the oven either. I know it's such a small storefront and it doesn't have all the fancy bits, but don't let that fool you. All of the goodies they make here are done so well! I have ordered all my family and friends' birthday cakes here, brought home boxes and boxes of their delightful creations for years. What I really love is the fact that the cakes and everything else they make here are very light and airy and not too sweet. I especially love the cakes with fruit in them, they are always so fresh. I have never had a bad cake here. They also make snacks, crackers, and delicious pastries, some are savory and packed with so much flavor, such as the cheesy and garlicky ones my favorite. Found this bakery on yelp.com and decided to stop by this past Saturday afternoon with my husband. This bakery is located in a plaza with a martial arts place, a meat market and so forth. Just look for the purple awning (the one purple awning in the plaza) to find the bakery. At the time of this visit, this bakery got a "B" grade from public health. Anyways, upon entering the store, I picked up a tray that already had a paper lining on it. I also picked up a pair of tongs and walked around looking for some baked goodies to purchase. There is actually a nice selection of baked sweet and savory breads, cookies, cake (you can purchase by the slice and by the whole) and loaves of bread. I ended up purchasing a total of $10.79 worth of food items and paid with credit card ($10 credit card transaction minimum). I was also given a $1 off coupon to use (when you spend $10 or more, you receive a $1 off coupon) for my next visit. Over the next few days, my family and I consumed the items I purchased and enjoyed each of them. I will definitely be back at this bakery again or one of their other locations. Just wanted to mention that most of the food items at this bakery cost between $1-$2.25, which is pretty affordable and well worth the price. Every time there's a birthday in the family, we grab a cake from here. We've never custom ordered a cake, we always just pick what's avaliable. As they are an Asian bakery, most of their cakes have a light texture and are not overly sweet, which could be some people's preference. I'm giving 5 stars because their vanilla cake with mango is one of the best cakes I've ever eaten. Every time I see this cake, I have to get it. The cake itself is light, and the best part is that this bakery does NOT skimp out on the mango. The top of the cake is beautifully layered with generous pieces of mango and the inside of the cake has even MORE mango and they are all good sized pieces. All of their other fruit cakes are generous with the fresh fruit, and their green tea mousse cake with red bean is a great choice as well. It was hard to find. 85 doesn't make it and I couldn't for the life of me get JJ bakery on the phone. Ninis answered promptly and answered all my questions and I was able to order the cake.
