Sponge cake with crispy layer $24 16 pieces
    Jenny Z.

A favorite little bakery in Rowland heights! Clean interior and they always have a bunch of fresh bread, cakes, and buns in the morning. I love ordering the crispy layer sponge cake that's perfect for parties and gatherings. It has layers of crispy sheets, butter cream, and the softest sponge cake. Perfect amount of sweetness and perfectly cut into rectangles. Best to enjoy on the same day while the layers are still crispy! 16 pieces are $24 and they gave me an adorable Happy Father's Day sign too. Just be sure to call them 2 hours in advance before pickup so they make it fresh! The ladies at the front are always super friendly. I think if you spend $40, you get a $1 coupon to use on your next visit!

    Moldy fruits

This is disgusting. The fruit was moldy, and the taro cake layer was much thinner than before. I won't buy this again.

Taro cake that no flaky layers :( I showed a picture of a taro cake slice with layers and they gave us a cake without the flaky layers...

Ordered a taro cake and it was yummy but I showed a taro cake picture of a taro cake I ordered in the past that had the flaky layers and the one we got did not have it :(

My hubby wanted a classic Chinese fruit cake. This means the cake is filled with fresh fruit, uses light and fluffy sponge cake, and has the smoothest buttercream. Nini's Bakery came through! Most Chinese bakeries offers some kind of fruit cake, but not all bakeries make them well. The fruit cake was filled with fresh mangos and strawberries. The sponge cake was light, airy, and slightly sweet. At $36, it's not cheap for an 8" cake. But I highly recommend Nini's Bakery if you're looking for that classic Chinese fruit cake taste!

Stopped in for a couple of items prior to my kids' basketball game at the park nearby. I wasn't familiar with most of the items so I asked a lot of questions but beware that the staff really doesn't speak English at all. I chose three items and my total came to $9.90. The woman explained to me that any charges under $10 incur of 50 Cent fee. I asked her if she could pardon that and told her that was pretty ridiculous and bad customer service but she just laughed and said there was nothing she could do . This small gesture would have kept a customer, but due to her lack of interest in accommodating me, and in a minimal and reasonable manner, I surely wouldn't return .

Beautiful cake! Recently ordered a dragon cake from here and it was absolutely beautiful. Their regular birthday cakes are in the $30 range but the custom cakes are $50. If you want a unique cake you will have to pay extra for it. The cake was also delicious, not too sweet. The whipped cream was super fluffy and creamy. Overall expensive but a good cake.

    The best breakfast ever..

Legit have been to this bakery a number of times and it has been in the hood for probably even longer but it for real wasn't until this freaking delicious 燒餅 that prompted me to write this review Get it fresh in the morning. You can have it with beef or eggs. I like the eggs for my morning breakfast, usually I get beef at other restaurants. It is so good. Feels like I have a well balanced breakfast, keeps me full and ironically "healthy" Much better than those McDonald, Starbucks muffin choices... and I believe it's around the same price. The crispy outside is so yummy, that when it falls to the bottom of the bag, I put the bag to my mouth like I would when I'm eating a bag of delicious chips. I want ever last bite Do it! You won't regret it... or if you do... you don't enjoy true Taiwanese style bread

Sweet potato bun (?)- forgot the name but it's a long roll with purple sweet potato in it. Again, not overly sweet and very enjoyable. Their breads are very soft and fluffy. Service is fast but the girl behind the counter spoke a bit too fast. If you need a bag they charge 15 cents for paper bags, so bring your own.

We arrived around 2:15 pm and there was already a short line by the register. After briefly looking around, we ended up choosing: Peanut Bun, $2.05- I really liked this bun, it was filled with plenty of chopped peanuts. But I did not like finding baking paper that was forgotten to be pulled off on a few bites and having to spit out that paper. Sesame Bun, $2.05- Luckily the black sesame bun did not have any baking paper when I ate this bun a few days after purchasing. But I did like this bun, as there was plenty of black sesame paste that was the perfect sweetness (of not being too sweet). Matcha Almond Croissant, $3- My husband had this the next day and enjoyed it. --------------------------- (Total= $7.10) Service was friendly. The 2 employees who helped us spoke both English and Mandarin. And what was nice was that they bagged our 3 items in a plastic bag and handed it to us after paying for it (I paid credit card and did not see a credit card minimum sign). The only reason why I bring this is up is because Sunmerry and 85C Bakery both charge $10 for a plastic bag so it was nice to see that this JJ bakery just gave us a bag for free (or that it is already built in the cost of their baked goods). Inside this bakery are a few tables and chairs, which is nice if you want to sit and chat with a friend/ family member and enjoy your purchase here. We ended up taking our items back home.
