Came here to order a birthday cake because of the brown bear design with Tiramisu flavor. Saw they have a promotion for the Portuguese egg tart for $1 wow what a deal! I ordered a dozen for my family to enjoy. The egg tarts were hot and crispy, the filling were perfectly done with the right sweetness and the look was so appetizing with some brown sugar spots, yummy!!! This is my second time buying, just too good to pass up lol They also have a variety of bread for a buy 5 get 1 free promo going on. Come get yours if you are in Rowland Heights area!

The buns are a good size and always taste great. I also tried their dalgona coffee which j enjoyed a lot. It's a good amount of sweetness, creaminess, and great coffee taste.

Got the $1 egg tart promo and the entire box was undercooked. it looked nothing like the pictures -- No caramelization on the tart visible, and the crust itself was chewy underneath bc they weren't cooked through. Also did a pass through of their pastries and noticed it was heavy on sweets, not a lot of savory and nothing with good protein. I prefer bakeries with more variety, with savory options that could be a light lunch or snack. These options would not satisfy unfortunately. The promos are good but the quality and consistency is not, making it not worth future visits.

My sister wanted something for breakfast as we were rushing with our day's schedule. We spotted this shop across the street from the car rental we dropped my sister's vehicle at. Coffee walnut croissant was delicious, egg tart (special $1 each max. 6 per customer) had a light and flaky crust and smooth, egg custard filling, the Ube concha was dense with red bean past filling- not my typer, choco bun pack was dry and tasted slightly stale. Service was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a clean shop with the delicious smell of bread and pastries.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually go to the one in Temple where the choco buns tastes more fresh.

Sunmerry has the BOGO Free Drinks promotion now from today, 3/5, to Sunday, 3/8, and again from Thursday, 3/12, to Tuesday, 3/17. You can get Buy One Get One Free drinks, including Boba Milk Tea, Matcha Latte, and Salted Cream Green Tea ($6 each). They have Portuguese Egg Tarts for just $1 each, or Napoleon Egg Tarts for $1.49 each. I got two Matcha Latte drinks and Napoleon egg tarts today. You must get the same drink to receive BOGO, and ice & sugar must be the same as the first drink. I was going to order both Portuguese egg tarts and Napoleon egg tarts, but they sold out the Portuguese ones. The service was a bit slow because one of the cashiers was a trainee, so she was still learning the whole process. She was friendly. However, I found out that she charged me for two drinks. Instead of charging me $6 for BOGO, I was charged $9 for the "buy one, get 2nd drink half off" offer, plus egg tart charges, of course. But it was not the BOGO promotion. I showed the receipt to the other cashier because the trainee was away, and she was very polite. She apologized to me for her coworker's mistake and gave me a refund for the overcharge. The Matcha Latte was tasty, but it was a bit too sweet; I did not pick the ice and sugar options, or maybe she forgot to ask me. The Napoleon egg tarts were very crispy with multi-layered buttery pastry and filled with a smooth custard in the middle. I wish it had more custard inside and fewer multi-layered crust. They have a lot of beautiful cakes, and I tried many of them, and they taste good.

Their Portuguese egg tart is very good, but I had them when they were cold, so not so good. When hot, the crust is super thin and crunchy, so it is extra delicious. I have not tried their other bake goods and drinks, so can't comment on them. Ray out!

I happened to be in town to share good deals from Sunmerry Bakery with a friend. We all needed extra sweetness to make our day feel better somehow. We got BOGO tea with salted cream, it tastes good. And one egg tart at $1 each. Service is good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is more of bakery than a cafe, but they do have couple tables inside in a hot day like this.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually preferred Sunmerry's cakes and bread over JJ bakery and 85 degrees at one point. However, the cake quality has gone pretty uneven. Taiwanese style pastries still look pretty decent and with wide varieties. I think the focus is to do what you do best, and concentrate on just a few specialties cakes or breads. Just my humble opinion.

We pre-ordered a holiday cake online and had no issues with pickup. The cake was super cute and also not too sweet or dry. It was a strawberry cake. Parking: located in a plaza with parking spots available

soooo cute, they have $1 egg tarts omg people go get itttttt, and many good bakeries inside ~

Napoleon Custard Tart is the Best !!! Came Saturday morning, got 8 of these Beauties. Freshly made, crispiest butteriest flaky crust and custard perfectly done and not too sweet. I've been eating 2 per day for the last 3 days, can't wait for my last 2 tomorrow. Still crispitty crustily good as the first day. These are unique, never had them anywhere else. Also Had 2 Portuguese tarts from here, the crust does not even come close to these. They were good as Portuguese custard tarts go, but I just love these Napoleon Tarts.

Matcha lovers, this one is worth the stop…read more I visited Chayan not too long after they opened, and this was such a good find in Rowland Heights. First of all, the space itself is beautiful. The traditional Chinese-inspired aesthetic gives the shop such an elegant, calm atmosphere. It isn't overly flashy or trying too hard to be trendy--it just feels peaceful and thoughtfully put together. Definitely the kind of place where you can slow down and actually enjoy your tea. But let's talk about the reason I came here: the Matcha Green Tea Frappe. SO. GOOD. What immediately stood out to me was that this didn't taste like one of those drinks where the actual matcha gets completely buried underneath sugar. You can genuinely taste the matcha and the quality of the tea. It has that distinct matcha flavor while still being creamy and enjoyable. And the topping?! Instead of just throwing regular whipped cream on it, they top it with whipped matcha and roasted peanuts, which gives it this really interesting combination of creamy, earthy, nutty flavors. The peanuts add a little texture and complement the matcha surprisingly well. It tasted intentional rather than just sweet for the sake of being sweet. That's probably my biggest recommendation before coming here: if you're looking for an extremely sugary, dessert-style matcha, this may not be what you're looking for. This is much more about actually tasting the tea. If you want something loaded with sugar where the matcha disappears somewhere in the background... Starbucks is right there. But if you appreciate a more balanced drink where you can actually taste good-quality matcha, I absolutely recommend giving Chayan a try. Beautiful atmosphere, quality tea, unique flavors, and an overall really relaxing experience. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu.

There's seating indoors with the ordering kiosks. Unfortunately, the tea flavor wasn't very strong and it was more milky. Not too sweet even at the Recommended levels so that's good. Black Tea Cold Brew: not strong enough and just tasted generic. Da-Hong-Pao Tea Frappe: very milky with a hint of a nutty black tea. The cream and crunchies on top were a nice addition. Osmanthus & Lychee Lemon Tea: very refreshing and sweeter than the other drinks. I'd definitely recommend it. With so many boba places in the area, especially with ChaHalo down the street, it might be difficult to succeed.

It's nice and not too milky, good tea to milk ratio, tea is fragrant. Some places for example if the tea is weak then it just tastes like sweet milk. Their merchandise (magnets, hair accessories. ..) is super cute. We ordered their milk tea flight, which included a jasmine milk tea, osmanthus milk tea, and a dark/black milk tea. We also got the lychee smoothie, oolong milk tea and the lemon kumquat tea. All our drinks were ordered at 50% sweetness. All drinks were a hit. The jasmine milk tea tastes very similar to a milk tea competitor that shares the same name scheme (Cha_ _ _). ChaHalo has good boba and more variety, though, which is a plus! Their lychee smoothie was perfectly sweet at 50%. The oolong milk tea had the perfect milk to tea ratio, and the lemon kumquat tea was refreshing. Out of the drinks in the flight, the jasmine milk tea was best, then osmanthus if you like the floral tea flavor, and lastely the dark milk tea, which wasn't anything special. There were a few small tables inside, and seating in their patio. Drinks came out quickly and service was efficient and friendly. We will be back!

Another amazing drink is the Cassia Black Tea with Mousse. The tea itself tastes robust and slightly malty, while the mousse adds a silky and creamy texture that enhances the drink. My husband especially likes the drinks from the Lemon Condensed Milk series. Each cup is freshly brewed to order and has a strong tea base, which is exactly how I like it. This particular location only has one ordering kiosk and only a couple of small tables. It is definitely more of a grab-and-go type of place. The premium tea taste and tea quality here are consistent with other locations I've been to. I like that we can see into the kitchen and watch the drinks being made. The shop itself was clean and filled with a pleasant tea aroma that created a welcoming first impression. Service was average, with nothing particularly memorable about the visit. Considering the relatively small size of the drinks, paying over $8 per drink felt difficult to justify. **Green Tea with Boba: 2.5/5** For a tea shop renowned for its freshly brewed-to-order teas, this drink was surprisingly lackluster. It tasted noticeably watered down and had very little of the fresh, fragrant jasmine tea flavor I was expecting. The chewy boba was the highlight, offering a pleasant texture with just the right amount of sweetness, but it couldn't salvage an otherwise disappointing drink. **High Mountain Pouchong Tea: 1/5** This drink was an even bigger letdown. Like the green tea, it tasted diluted and lacked the floral depth and complexity that a high mountain pouchong tea should offer. An unusually artificial, creamy, sweet aftertaste also lingered after each sip, further detracting from the overall flavor. Overall, the drinks lacked the bold, distinctive tea flavor I'd expect from an award-winning tea house. Considering the premium prices and relatively small drink sizes, the quality ultimately didn't justify the cost. There are simply too many better bubble tea shops at this price point, and I don't see myself returning.

The presentation of their fresh milk mochi (鲜奶麻薯) bowls and dip-and-stretch mochi desserts is undeniable--it makes for great photos, and the shop itself is super bright and clean. The stretchy texture of the milk mochi base was fun and delightfully soft, and components like the taro paste and purple rice had a nice, subtle sweetness. However, for the price point, the execution fell a little short. Some of the toppings felt under-prepared; the taro balls lacked that fresh, springy chewy elasticity you want in a shaved ice/mochi bowl, and the coconut jelly base tasted slightly watered down instead of rich. Logistics wise, the service was quite slow even though the store wasn't very busy, and parking in this Labin Court plaza can be a complete nightmare during peak evening hours.
