    Popcorn chicken
    cody c.

Fast and quick place for an afternoon snack. For the price of $9.99 the portion is very generous. It only took 5 minutes for the food to be ready on a not busy Saturday afternoon. I love how the basil comes together with the chicken. The chicken is not dry and the breading is just right.

Have to give them a shout out on their popcorn chicken getting them two times in one week! Never disappoint, flavor it's savory, it has enough crunchiness on the outer shell, tender on inside. Service is always nice the gentleman with glasses very generous when I ask for spiciness. Always love this place since I have being coming here when I was first came to America. Originally was quickly but the owner changed but the food never changed still as delicious.

Found inside the market. Popcorn chicken is good. I wanted hot sauce and the worker made me some I thought that was really nice. If you want a quick little snack this is where you can grab it.

Little shop inside the market. I always come here for the popcorn chicken! I'm always on the hunt for the perfect popcorn chicken and let me tell you this place is freshly made. The crispiness is perfect. They have different spice levels and 10 out of 10 satisfaction . If you're more hungry, they have other food options and lots of drink options with boba too. The staff don't speak that much English pretty much Chinese only but you can point at the menu and you'll be fine. There is plenty of parking outside, so you will never struggle to look for that. If you have time to kill, the market is directly connected to this spot so you can take a stroll inside the market as well.

Green tea latte. Tastes like matcha latte. With a whipped cream on top. Bland boba

Just inside at the entrance of the HK supermarket. Easy online ordering. However, the drink names don't really depict the actual drink. I ordered a green tea latte with east boba. The drink was more of a slushy type matcha tea with a white topping that seemed more of a foam whipped cream that you would get from a can. The boba had no taste but at least wasn't all sugary. Would I come back? No! Too many better boba tea places in the area.

#10. 抹茶拿铁 Green Tea Latte ...except this is melted after walking in the July+LA heat xD

Ordered the Green Tea Latte. It was made with matcha powder and shaved ice. Was a litte too bitter for me (because of the matcha, which I should have known! ) but the boss lady was kind enough to add more sugar for me and re-blend my drink. $5.25 for a drink is super cheap for LA, so I'm super happy with both the service and the price :) The location is also inside the Hong Kong Supermarket, near the main automatic double doors, so if you're in the area, it's a convenient place to stop by!

They are back in business!! For a bit, it was marked as permanently closed back in June 2020 but they are definitely back! So happy because this is the absolute best place in town to get authentic Taiwanese popcorn chicken! I don't really get drinks here. My rating is purely for the popcorn chicken. I can't shut up about how delicious, crispy, tasty, savory, tender their popcorn chicken is. They use dark meat and the seasoning is on point! Always fresh made! They offer many other snack items like fried tempura, tea eggs, green beans, sandwiches, some combo meal plates, and various drinks. Since they recently opened back up and appears they've done some renovation to their space, they may have updated menu items. They are located inside the HK2 Food District building where the Hong Kong Supermarket is. It's a corner shop with some tables for seating and easy order to go. I believe there is a sign for wearing masks to be served but no floor markings to indicate social distancing. You'll have to do your own distancing. The plaza has plenty of parking and also has many people parking terribly. They only take CASH! You MUST have cash and EXACT change. I noticed now they don't give you exact change back. Didn't happen like this before but with the coin shortage, I'm assuming that's why. They really should have a sign posted to explain this. The same ladies that were originally running the place are still there. They hired additional staff. They speak very little English. Have your cash and be ready to not get change back. Their chicken prices seems to have gone up. I paid $13.73 for 2 orders of popcorn chicken. Chicken comes in 1 size now, only LARGE. I gave $20.00 but only got $6.00 back so goodbye to the change. I'm so happy they are back in business so I didn't care but will remember to have exact change next time. Anyway, get yourself some awesome popcorn chicken!!

This place is in the supermarket so it's hidden, but go for the popcorn chicken. I didn't try anything else. Tbh we considered leaving when we saw the place, but I'm glad we gave it a try. This is the best popcorn chicken I've had in socal. Well, if they added more basil and spice I think they would be a 5 for me, but I'm just enjoying this right now.

This used to be Boba Go-Go, located inside the Hong Kong supermarket. They only take cash. Their popcorn chicken is great, the wait was a bit long but the ladies were nice to me. Their chicken is juicy and not over-seasoned.

The check in offer, basic drinks only (boba milk tea, black tea, green tea, and wintermelon (?) )
    Emily C.

Cheap boba place with friendly service! $3.60~ for a large with pudding. For an inexpensive drink, I'm glad it doesn't taste powdery. When you check in you can get free green tea, black tea, boba milk tea (the basics). I'll be back, nice to find another place that has boba on a budget.

Milk tea, pretty basic but the taste wasn't enjoyable. Also the boba wasn't tasty or fresh. Customer service is not great, place wasn't busy. Definitely wouldn't come back due to very poor customer service ):

    Ashley J.

Came here for Black Sugar Milk Tea and boba milk tea with pudding. Check in buy get one deal on Facebook Yelp and we chat for a small drink. They'll add extra for a large drink or fancier one so negotiate. But their prices are way lower than the rest of the boba places around. They start at ~$2.50 and add for toppings and size upgrades

Matcha lovers, this one is worth the stop…read more I visited Chayan not too long after they opened, and this was such a good find in Rowland Heights. First of all, the space itself is beautiful. The traditional Chinese-inspired aesthetic gives the shop such an elegant, calm atmosphere. It isn't overly flashy or trying too hard to be trendy--it just feels peaceful and thoughtfully put together. Definitely the kind of place where you can slow down and actually enjoy your tea. But let's talk about the reason I came here: the Matcha Green Tea Frappe. SO. GOOD. What immediately stood out to me was that this didn't taste like one of those drinks where the actual matcha gets completely buried underneath sugar. You can genuinely taste the matcha and the quality of the tea. It has that distinct matcha flavor while still being creamy and enjoyable. And the topping?! Instead of just throwing regular whipped cream on it, they top it with whipped matcha and roasted peanuts, which gives it this really interesting combination of creamy, earthy, nutty flavors. The peanuts add a little texture and complement the matcha surprisingly well. It tasted intentional rather than just sweet for the sake of being sweet. That's probably my biggest recommendation before coming here: if you're looking for an extremely sugary, dessert-style matcha, this may not be what you're looking for. This is much more about actually tasting the tea. If you want something loaded with sugar where the matcha disappears somewhere in the background... Starbucks is right there. But if you appreciate a more balanced drink where you can actually taste good-quality matcha, I absolutely recommend giving Chayan a try. Beautiful atmosphere, quality tea, unique flavors, and an overall really relaxing experience. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu.

There's seating indoors with the ordering kiosks. Unfortunately, the tea flavor wasn't very strong and it was more milky. Not too sweet even at the Recommended levels so that's good. Black Tea Cold Brew: not strong enough and just tasted generic. Da-Hong-Pao Tea Frappe: very milky with a hint of a nutty black tea. The cream and crunchies on top were a nice addition. Osmanthus & Lychee Lemon Tea: very refreshing and sweeter than the other drinks. I'd definitely recommend it. With so many boba places in the area, especially with ChaHalo down the street, it might be difficult to succeed.

It's nice and not too milky, good tea to milk ratio, tea is fragrant. Some places for example if the tea is weak then it just tastes like sweet milk. Or it's like BARELYYY a bit of tea where you smell it but don't taste it. But here the oolong is pretty strong and the roast is nice so I thought it was good! They're open pretty late and there's some seating inside, some directly outside, and then even more out in a patio. Also at night people were just chatting and chillin around their cars so that's an option too since less cars driving around. There was a bunch of people when I went so I was expecting a pretty long wait. But maybe it was just 10 min or so? Soooo quick I was so surprised. Their merchandise (magnets, hair accessories. ..) is super cute. We ordered their milk tea flight, which included a jasmine milk tea, osmanthus milk tea, and a dark/black milk tea. We also got the lychee smoothie, oolong milk tea and the lemon kumquat tea. All our drinks were ordered at 50% sweetness. All drinks were a hit. The jasmine milk tea tastes very similar to a milk tea competitor that shares the same name scheme (Cha_ _ _). ChaHalo has good boba and more variety, though, which is a plus! Their lychee smoothie was perfectly sweet at 50%. The oolong milk tea had the perfect milk to tea ratio, and the lemon kumquat tea was refreshing. Out of the drinks in the flight, the jasmine milk tea was best, then osmanthus if you like the floral tea flavor, and lastely the dark milk tea, which wasn't anything special. There were a few small tables inside, and seating in their patio. Drinks came out quickly and service was efficient and friendly. We will be back!

Another amazing drink is the Cassia Black Tea with Mousse. The tea itself tastes robust and slightly malty, while the mousse adds a silky and creamy texture that enhances the drink. My husband especially likes the drinks from the Lemon Condensed Milk series. Each cup is freshly brewed to order and has a strong tea base, which is exactly how I like it. This particular location only has one ordering kiosk and only a couple of small tables. It is definitely more of a grab-and-go type of place. The premium tea taste and tea quality here are consistent with other locations I've been to. I like that we can see into the kitchen and watch the drinks being made. The shop itself was clean and filled with a pleasant tea aroma that created a welcoming first impression. Service was average, with nothing particularly memorable about the visit. Considering the relatively small size of the drinks, paying over $8 per drink felt difficult to justify. **Green Tea with Boba: 2.5/5** For a tea shop renowned for its freshly brewed-to-order teas, this drink was surprisingly lackluster. It tasted noticeably watered down and had very little of the fresh, fragrant jasmine tea flavor I was expecting. The chewy boba was the highlight, offering a pleasant texture with just the right amount of sweetness, but it couldn't salvage an otherwise disappointing drink. **High Mountain Pouchong Tea: 1/5** This drink was an even bigger letdown. Like the green tea, it tasted diluted and lacked the floral depth and complexity that a high mountain pouchong tea should offer. An unusually artificial, creamy, sweet aftertaste also lingered after each sip, further detracting from the overall flavor. Overall, the drinks lacked the bold, distinctive tea flavor I'd expect from an award-winning tea house. Considering the premium prices and relatively small drink sizes, the quality ultimately didn't justify the cost. There are simply too many better bubble tea shops at this price point, and I don't see myself returning.

The presentation of their fresh milk mochi (鲜奶麻薯) bowls and dip-and-stretch mochi desserts is undeniable--it makes for great photos, and the shop itself is super bright and clean. The stretchy texture of the milk mochi base was fun and delightfully soft, and components like the taro paste and purple rice had a nice, subtle sweetness. However, for the price point, the execution fell a little short. Some of the toppings felt under-prepared; the taro balls lacked that fresh, springy chewy elasticity you want in a shaved ice/mochi bowl, and the coconut jelly base tasted slightly watered down instead of rich. Logistics wise, the service was quite slow even though the store wasn't very busy, and parking in this Labin Court plaza can be a complete nightmare during peak evening hours. 5 stars for their "butter caramel tart" ($5.5), which is essentially a gigantic [easily 2 or 3x the…read moresize of a] Chinese "dan tat" or egg custard in a light, buttery, flaky crust that's better than what you'd get at a French pastry shop. The smooth, light, melt-in-your-mouth custard is nice and thick, so the ratio of custard to crust is like 15:1 (how it should be, in my opinion!). Pictures do it no justice--you absolutely have to try it. I tried it the next morning after refrigeration and microwaving for 22sec, and it was so delicious, I finished the entire piece! And now I'm super full. But it was worth it. They also have a chocolate version that I was considering, but opted to go with their most popular, which is yummy enough to go out of your way for. Also tried their floral quartet oolong milk tea with boba. Tea was ok but boba was lackluster, a bit too stretchy and not sweet enough. That custard pastry though, easily brings this spot up to 5 stars. Small shop just to place your order at the counter and leave with goodies. Cute bread themed interior: baguette door handles, a variety of bread squishies for the kiddos to play with while you order, and a large rolling pin light fixture above you. Do yourself and your friends and family a favor and bring home at least a few of the butter caramel tarts. They're each nicely packaged in a windowed bag with branded sticker, so they're easy to gift. And each one comes with a packaged glove with which to enjoy your treat and not have to wash your hands.

I ordered the Mango Coconut Bliss and Honeydew Coconut Bliss. They were both yummy. I love their use of real fruits. The Butter Caramel Egg Tart is so massive you can share it with a friend. There is a smaller version but go BIG, so worth it. It tastes heavenly! The custard is perfect texture, so smooth and not too sweet. The crust is amazing; it has multiple layers and it's flaky (in a good way). If you love egg tarts like me, this place is definitely worth checking out.
