A solid boba and tea shop with a good variety of drinks. I tried the kumquat lemonade, and it was refreshing and tart. It also came with basil seeds, which added a great texture. I also tried some of my friend's milk tea with boba, which was solid but not something I would get again. The menu is pretty big, so I appreciated that they had a poster that showed their most popular drinks. The interior has pretty limited seating, but it wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon anyways. It brings mee back to Nostalgic era when mee n my hubs were just new parents to our now going on 17 years old (next month). This was one of the boba spots i craved on late nights boba run during my nursing days. What i ordered ~ Iced Milk Drink w pudding & honey boba $ 7.08. The drink was good and refreshing. Since it had honey boba. It is on the sweeter side. Make sure to stir, shake b4 you take a sip. ~ Brown Sugar Milk Tea w pudding & Honey boba was a really disappointing. Couldn't taste the Brown sugar flavor what so ever along the milk tea taste. It tasted like it was water down and i asked for easy ice too. It was so bland! I got it for my son n he didn't even want to drink it. I attached a photo of his drink 2 hours later barely touched. I had to try it myself and definitely, wasn't at all tasting like black milk tea base at all. Why i had to give it 2 stars. I will update my review once I returned. - honey boba is yummy n chewy. Really on the sweeter side. I mean that's why it's called honey boba and they serve their boba warm. FYI -$ .98 for super Cup up charge Service was good and decently amount of wait time. I recall 10 years ago there use to be huge long lines/wait for Half & Half. The location has an old Taiwanese vibe with wooden walls and decor of a traditional boba shop. They had vinyl cover on the bathroom walls. It's clean and well taken care of. So glad it's still here this Colima location. Not sure if the other location is still open. Half & Half is open on New Years. This location is word...the back entrance still boarded with wood and had never replaced with glass door. If you're extra thirsty, then this is the place for you. The standard is big but Half& Half is known on the Big Cup--it's huge and totally worth it. The real danger (in the best way) is the upgrades. There's no shrinkflation here! The drink selection is huge, too. Once you start adding toppings, foam, extra shots, or sweetness tweaks, it turns into a full-on custom drink experience. If you want small bites they offer them here - instant noodles, fried chicken nuggets and pancakes. :) We got the strawberry milk tea (ehhh), the Thai iced tea (yummy) and my personal favorite Herbal Green Tea with grass-jelly! Each store location has their quirky "old school decors". This location has a Japanese toy vending machines. Cute! read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Half & Half. My go-to drink is their Red Bean Milk Tea (regular everything / extra Red Bean blended in) - it truly is my biggest obsession. What I don't love is the weight gain that comes with it. They only have two sizes - Regular or Super, but their "Reg" size is bigger than XL sizes at other boba places. There's ALWAYS a wait at this Half & Half compared to the Arcadia location, but the lobby is bigger in RH vs. you'll have to wait outside in Arcadia. Staff are always friendly. Cashier was friendly, this rating is mainly for their policy. They had a sign that they were out of Super cups and offered to split them into two regular cups, but when we ordered they said it would cost an additional $1 for them to split it. So basically, in addition to paying for the large cup upgrade, you'd also have to pay extra for them to split it, which was a bit odd to me. read more

My friend and I ordered 2 x Lychee Tea w/ Boba and the option to make it a large. Tea and boba for the price they charge for the add-in was very average. Good value for the sheer size of the drink. Service was quick. Store has a small amount of seating area inside. Huge menu, almost every combination of add-in, tea/milk, type of drink you can think of but many places in the area have popped up since it first opened that while having a smaller menu is able to specialize and do certain drinks significantly better. read more

I stopped in here with the fam to fulfill my boba cravings, and Half & Half hit the spot! I order the longan green tea, which I've never seen on a menu before. I asked the staff member if the longan went better with green or black tea and she recommended the green tea. Some key points that took my drink experience to the next level: - Crushed ice! Really elevates an iced drink. - Boba was the perfect chewy consistency - The longan flavor was not too sweet (I didn't need to adjust the sweetness level of the drink) - The drink had little bits of longan in it too - The green tea complemented the longan flavor very well! Went here for years, but sadly the customer service here has gone really far downhill for summer 2024. It was Sunday afternoon & had cashier Juliana M. (her full was name printed on the receipt). She managed to get my order wrong not once, but twice in the same order for two different drinks! I pointed to the popular drinks board & told her exactly what I wanted. 1) A milk tea with honey boba & pudding 2) A rose milk tea with honey boba & taro pudding Asked for no ice in the drinks. Ordered both drinks with the same sweetness. When I received my order, both had ice. I recalled hearing the dudes making the drinks in the back saying "less ice" and wondered if they were talking about MY drinks, as I was the only one there. I returned to the cashier, and told her the drinks were not supposed to have ice. No apology from Juliana about the mistake. They scooped the ice out, and the Asian guy handing me the drinks apologized for their mistake. Looked more closely at the drinks when they removed (most) of the ice and...only one had boba. When I told her one of the drinks was missing the boba I ordered, she didn't own up to getting the order wrong...didn't even say she may have misheard. She just insisted that she didn't charge me for boba. Like...did she mean I was supposed to get it for free? I know what I ordered, but it wasn't what was in the cup. Doesn't matter if she didn't charge me-- she missed the topping in my order, which was the issue. What a weird way to try and gaslight your customer. She then charged me 0.70 for the boba, and I waited again for them to fix the drink a second time. I usually tip for to-go orders, but didn't feel generous this time around for this very reason. 50% sweetness for the rose milk tea with honey boba & taro pudding was almost bitter. The taro pudding was plasticky-tasting and bland in turns. Do not recommend. The usual milk tea with pudding and honey boba at 50% sweet was slightly better, but not as good as in the past. The boba was not as honeyed as I remember, but at least the texture was fresh & tender. Not sure why the sharp downturn in quality of drinks & service at this usually tried-and-true location...it was as bad as the location down the street. Maybe it's time to move onto a different boba shop. Likely not returning to this chain again, after many years of being a patron. read more

I don't believe any of the reviews that say this place's milk tea lacks tea flavor. I have no idea what they're talking about!!! To be fair though, I've only ever had their milk tea with honey boba and pudding, but my point still stands!! The milk tea I got had plenty of flavor. It was delicious, and pretty sweet. I think even if you like sweet things, you'd still be pretty satisfied with a 75% sweetness level, it's what I'll consider getting next time I'm here. That being said I don't think 100% is overly sweet, but definitely enough. Their boba is great! Chewy, and soft, and sweet, but not in a way that makes the drink overpowering. The pudding is also really tasty! Soft, creamy, and sweet. Works well with both the milk tea and boba. I try to avoid getting multiple toppings in by teas because I feel like it can be overwhelming of the flavors and textures can clash, but the pudding and boba mesh well. I also ordered the milk tea sea salt latte with coffee jelly. They give you a free upsize as well!! It was a summer special, but it looks like it'll be carrying on into fall which is a major plus in my book. Wish it was closer to me so I could take advantage of this more often. Interior is small and a bit cramped, but nice. The wooden interior design of the place gives it a cozy feeling. there's plenty of benches as well. Definitely a step up from a generic boba shop. Honestly this place is great - when I came it was free size upgrade not sure if that still applies. The portion is generous they use good ice iykw I mean and the tea and boba always taste fresh. The place is small and it's not made for you to lounge around, the interior is older looking - the service is nice and quick and the portion is great. Overall I have no complaints. read more

It's honestly a trek when you have to drive almost two hours from one side of town in Pasadena.... to be on the other side of town to get boba at Half & Half Tea House, in Rowland Heights (technically City of Industry but oh well, it doesn't matter at this point). I've heard many good things about this place, especially with the recommendations my friends gave me, so when I was in SoCal this time around, I KNEW I had to give this place a try for it's buck. I was NOT disappointed at all. In fact, I was AMAZED at how they made their drinks. Not only were they cheap for their price, but everything came out to a decent price. Here's my take:Food/BOBA: 5/5 I got the fresh milk tea with honey, boba, and pudding. When I say this to you... the boba at Half & Half Tea House was absolutely delicious. The tapioca pearls were FRESHLY cooked, with just the right amount of chewiness. The fresh milk tself was rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of sweetness as I requested to give them. I could tell that they used high-quality ingredients in their drinks, as the flavors were so fresh and vibrant. Each sip was like a little taste of heaven. Not only was the boba incredible, but the service at Half & Half Tea House was also top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to answer any questions or make recommendations. They made sure that my order was prepared exactly how I wanted it, and even offered to customize it further if needed. The atmosphere in the store was warm and inviting, despite the fact I went in 15 minutes before they closed LOL. I will say that the atmosphere wasn't always the best, but they did have a lot of leeway so you could take your pictures on top of the table and post it for your IG or TikTok. Depends on what drinks you get here, but the brown sugar milk with pudding is always a hit! I'd personally stick to the milk teas and drinks here versus the fruit teas. For the #1, the pudding is super light and I wish it had an eggier taste, it's more like a soft jello tbh. Overall it's still a good brown sugar boba drink. The regular cups are huge already, and the sweetness level doesn't need to be adjusted imo. Service is quick despite the lines getting long. We got here on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line. We got the iced milk tea with taro and honey boba with 0% sweetness. The taro and the honey boba are already sweet so 0% sweetness is perfect for our taste! They definitely do not skimp on taro or honey boba - we got good chunks of taro and that's always a plus! It would have been even better if it's taro paste so it would be easier to drink but overall it's very delicious! The interior decoration is really cute! We entered from the back door (on the parking lot side) and saw the full menu but they also have "employee's choices" and their top ten drinks on a board closer to the front where you order drinks. There are a ton of parking right behind the store but there isn't a lot of seating (there are a couple seats inside but can get a little crowded if there's a line). Located in a busy restaurant/shopping center with plenty of parking. This small boba shop is one of my favorites! Their drinks are a great size and so worth it. They have slushy ice that pairs perfectly with their milky, creamy drinks. I really appreciate the extensive menu and options for toppings! We brought our family and friends here and everyone was able to find something they wanted to try on their menu. We went around 7pm on a Friday and there was a bit of a wait to order (~15min), but the line went quickly. There's no seating in the shop, but there are some tables and chairs outside. read more

Interior: It doesn't seem like they want people to be hanging out here so you will find only chairs you can sit while waiting for them to make your drinks. It was a bit stuffy inside probably the AC was not blasting. Service: It was not busy when I got there around lunch time. There was one family ahead of me and they had already put in their orders. I was standing at the cashier for the longest time considering that they were not busy. I was actually in shocked that I had to wait that long until someone noticed me. One of the employees came out I guess to use the restroom and he didn't even acknowledge or let his coworkers know that there's actually a customer standing at the cashier waiting to place an order. Thank god I had a lot of patience that day. Drinks: I ordered their longan iced green tea with aloe vera and caramel milk tea with honey boba because I couldn't decide between the two. I took advantage of their special promotion and got free super cup upgrade and free topping. Their summer promotion consisted of free super cup upgrade and that is everyday; the other promotion was free topping except boba on Mondays and Wednesdays. I am not too sure as to why boba is not part of the promotion. I even asked the employee and she didn't even know why.
