Bomberry, is a new smoothie & açaí establishment located in the city of Walnut. I accidentally cross paths of this store when entering the plaza to get boba. I chose this instead and was pleasantly surprised when I entered. The interior looks like an old retro diner that's bright, and pleasing to the eye. There's cool artwork that features the store's mascot Bomberry. I met Albert who made me a "Heavy Hitter" smoothie, which is their protein smoothie. It was really delicious, peanut buttery, and great for a post workout treat. The service here is amazing. I just had the BEST Açaí bowl today!! I'm by no means an expert as I've only had Açaí bowls a handful of times from different places, but every time I've eaten them, they are either super sweet or just tasted ok. I can say without a doubt that this is the best one I've ever had! I have been watching this place under construction for a while and when I dropped off my son next door at Mathnasium today, I saw that it was finally open! I went in and was immediately greeted by Adrian & Albert, the charming proprietors of this little shop, who told me it was day 2 of their opening. They look like twins so I had to ask, but they are brothers born 9 months apart and former script writers turned açaí artists. I had questions, they happily answered. What's a bomberry? It's the cute character açaí berry with a fuse at the top blowing up junk food (as you'll see on the custom commissioned art on the walls). Lots of thought went into the design of the shop from the tiles on the floor to the color scheme. The menu includes 4 signature açaí bowls and 5 smoothies. They make their own almond butter and hazelnut butter called bombtella (like Nutella but healthier). I ended up getting the Billy's breakfast bowl and it was delightful! I was happy every time I took a bite - so many of my favorite ingredients in one bowl - it was savory, sweet, crunchy, chewy, and it hit the spot! A new acai eatery has landed in the plaza across Mt. SAC. I was craving an acai bowl and Bomberry boasted 5 stars on both Yelp and Google Reviews, so you know I needed to check this place out. Walking in, I was greeted right away. The staff and vibes are friendly and will answer any questions you have. The aesthetics of the shop were charming. I've always had a soft spot for checkered floors as they just feel so timeless. I made a beeline to the ordering screen because I was feeling extra introverted today. I got Billy's Breakfast with mango and lemme tell you this was one of the best tasting acai bowls I've had. The house made almond butter was so rich and creamy. The acai base was really creamy, instead of icy (which happens in a lot of acai places). There are quite a few different flavors in this bowl that may seem daunting, but they work so well together. yay bomberry is finally open !! i saw this shop getting renovated awhile back and was super excited to learn it was going to be an acai bowl and smoothie spot. every time i visit the plaza, i would peek through the cracks since i was anticipating their opening date. on sunday, my hubs and i finally got to try it. when we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owners and the retro interior. they asked us what we were looking for and we said acai bowls !! we ultimately decided on the bombtella bowl and billy's breakfast. bombetella bowl : (5/5) -the acai has a very natural flavor: not too sweet, not too sour, yet still so refreshing. there is also a generous amount of fruits and crunchy bits. it is then dressed with their bombtella!! the bombtella is like nutella, but has real hazelnut bits inside. take a bite with everything and the flavors along with the textures will blow your mind. billy's breakfast : (5/5) - this bowl is extremely nutty. there were lots of textures that went well together such as the chia pudding, oats, and coconut flakes. it was then topped with a crunchy and creamy almond butter. one of the owners also let me try their house made peanut butter ! which was also also crunchy and creamy but distinguishable. 100% would recommend to someone who likes alot of textures. this spot might be a new favorite since their ingredients are fresh and natural, and you could definitely tell that alot of love and passion was put into this place !! i can't wait to come back and try their smoothies :D read more

It was sweet but not too sweet, it had the right amount of saltiness, the açaí was smooth and the nuts made it crunchy so it was a perfect balance of taste and texture.
