    #Facts!! Cute coffee decor!
    Meredith T.

Had been here before - but went recently with my sister and had the chilaquiles burrito and let me tell you -for a person who doesn't like burritos ... this was soooooo good - we ended up coming back the next day to order the same thing!! My sister had the horchata frap and I ordered the iced cafe de olla with a strawberry Aqua Fresca to go! Absolutely Delicious !! From the friendly service to cute ambiance and decor of the shop- this is a cute neighborhood spot to try some delicious food and refreshing drinks!

Staff was very friendly Monica and Steve I believe and the chili chilaquiles were amazing I got the carne asada ones with no egg and I did 1/2 red and 1/2 green sauce I liked both sauces I can't pick what's better between the two I'll definitely be back

Great local neighborhood coffee shop that specializes in homemade churros. They also have fresh cafe de olla and champurado -- which is a sweet Mexican drink that takes me back to my childhood during the holidays. The churros come with your choice of dipping sauces ... dulce de leche or chocolate. Will definitely be back to try their chilaquiles. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They share the strip mall with the Chevron station, but there is plenty of parking.

The food here is good. Ambiance is very cutesy however staff and service is not the best. I've been here twice now and each time the cashiers are just passive aggressive and seem very unhappy. I remember asking a question about the menu, asking if I just choose one meat for a sandwich which the cashier responds with "well yeah there's commas and it says the word 'or' so yeah just choose one" but in a tone that was just sarcastic. Other than that food and churros are good. Portions are big, I have gotten a chorizo bagel, mole chilaquiles, and the red and green chilaquiles.

My husband and myself have been craving chilaquiles. Gave the spot a chance and it didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious from their strawberry aqua Fresca to the iced vanilla coffee was on point. The amount is very generous. They also gave us samples of their churros very yummy

Best chilaquiles ever!!! I ordered the carne asada chile verde option, and they were phenomenal. The amount of protein you get for your money is insane! I'm thankful that the chilaquiles come in a to-go container because I had so much left over, and I didn't have to ask for a box. I ordered a cafe de olla iced coffee, and it was fabulous as it wasn't too sweet. We got complimentary churros with our order, and they were good. I'd love to return for a churro sundae someday. It's small inside and very hot in the summer.

Cute place. Close to home and my kid's school. Staff are always so friendly and welcoming and they know their customers! They know when they see new faces. I've had their churros before and it's so good (tastier fresh). They're quick, but if there's a wait that's because they make everything fresh and tbh, some things are worth the wait. Today I got their carne asada chilaquiles with an egg and green salsa (to go). Never disappoints. Love this place and they opened a second location too!

Medium chilaquiles with green salsa and chicken. Really tasty.

My coworkers have been here numerous times before and they love the food here. I always like good Chilaquiles, so decided to finally give it a go today. I got the medium chilaquiles with green salsa and with chicken added to it. The box looks kind of small, but it is actually a lot of food. I like how you can ask for the toppings on the side if you like crispier tortillas, or get them ready to eat if you like it a little soggier. I got it ready to eat and it was really good. Lots of chicken and every bite was delicious. Also got some churro bites and they were delicious. Reminded me of eating churros at Disneyland again. Menu is pretty extensive. Different sandwiches, salads, quesadillas, and lots of drinks too. I believe the owner was the one working the register. We had a pretty big order with modifications to several of the items, but he was still patient and friendly. Can't wait to come back and try some other stuff on the menu.

Vanilla Iced Latte - so good!
    Lawring W.

Vanilla ice latte was delicious! Not too sweet and great coffee flavor. Churros Fruitci Bowl Strawberries were sweet and fresh. Great presentation. I didn't try the churros this time, but the last time I tried them, they were really good! Super friendly staff. A couple seats inside and outside in a shaded area. Been here a couple times already and would come back!

Upon entering you are greeted with a burst of heat, kinda like when you open the door to a hot oven...and it remained that way until you went back outside. There was obviously no airflow in the space and it was very stuffy and warm. Placed our order at the counter and felt extremely rushed. The cashier (she) seemed like she was in a hurry and assumed our order was togo, she even gave the ticket to the "cook" before we even finished ordering. We waited for almost 30 minutes for our order to be ready. (You'd think food would be prepared/ready quickly after being rushed to order AND no customers ahead of us)! I opted for the chilaquiles with green sauce and added an egg. My sister had the chilaquiles with green sauce, added carne asada and an egg. We also ordered an order of churro bites to share. My sister enjoyed her chilaquiles, I on the other hand, thought they were "meh". The egg was rubbery and way overcooked, the tortilla chips remained crispy because there was hardly any green sauce so it was kinda dry IMO. Aside from the unwelcoming service, and mediocre chilaquiles, the churro bites came in clutch and saved the day! They were yummy, crunchy, sweet bites of goodness! They came with your choice of chocolate or Dulce de leche sauce for dipping but I don't think it was really necessary, they were perfect on their own! I'd definitely come back just for the churros but not for the wait.

    Chilaquiles de Chorizo!
    Frank M.

Ohh to the Emm to the Geeeeee!! First time coming here, and I'm sold. Not knowing anything about the place, the owner greeted me so warmly. She said she was going to "spoil me" AND SHE DID! Offered me a sample of Champurrado, Churro, and Cafe de Olla!! They were all yummy. I got the Chilaquiles de Chorizo we can over easy egg on top. Yummmmm!! It's a great breakfast place!! THANK YOU, Love Ch Ch!! I WILL BE BACK! The place seems a little hidden, considering it's in an auto repair business center. Once you're they're, the coffee scent blows you away! Such great energy! It deserves to be in a much better place. Looking forward to the success and progress.

    Protein, bagel, and pineapple drink

I recently ordered the protein bagel from the location off of Nogales and I was greeted with a warm welcome from Monica she was the sweetest. The place is cute off the corner they have a dining area and an outside dining as well. Everything tasted amazing.. so much so I recommend it to all my colleagues. I've been thinking about this bagel and ended up trying the walnut location and ordered the same thing but for some reason it didn't taste quite as good as the one off Nogales. I'm not to sure if it was because it was quite dry or what. But overall this place is amazing! I love the churros too!! I do think maybe making sure both restaurants are on the same page as far as how they make their food would be a good idea.

    Mole chilaquiles with egg.

Location is off Amar now (not Nogales). I was craving chilaquiles and stopped by the new location for the first time. It has more seating than the old location and the guy working was really friendly. He told me the mole is from Puebla and kind of spicy but wasn't for me at all (might be spicy if you're not used to it). Got the large chilaquiles and it was a lot. Mole was authentic Mexican mole and chips were still crispy. This is a dish you need to eat right away. Didn't disappoint. Will return again to try the red and green chilaquiles.

There were plenty of parking as it's in a shared plaza. For the store, it's a moderate size but it was definitely busy at the time we went. For ordering, you'll need to order at the counter before sitting down. After browsing the menu, we decided on the pink vodka pasta and the rich miso pasta (Taiwanese sausage added). American Express is accepted as a payment option. The staff gave us a number to place on the table we sat at but we were free to grab any seat we liked. For seating, there were a few tables for parties of two and limited tables for bigger groups. Keep in mind if you need water or extra napkins, they'll have those near the bar seating. Both the Pink Vodka Pasta and Rich Miso Pasta exceeded our expectations! The miso pasta leans on the creamy side but pairs very well with the pink vodka pasta. The miso pasta didn't come with any protein by default, so we were glad that we added the Taiwanese sausage. Fun fact is that the meatball from the Pink Vodka Pasta is vegan! The portion size was super generous from both dishes and was beyond just two people. I wasn't expecting to discover pasta dishes that I'd consider as one of my favorites from this visit! I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.

However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. Unfortunately, my experience with the food didn't quite match that first impression. I ordered the steak and eggs (medium rare, over-easy eggs, and fruit instead of potatoes). When my plate arrived, the food was cold, and the fruit was placed right next to the steak. Because the steak was medium rare, the juices--along with some of the blood--ended up soaking into the fruit, which made it very unappetizing. I sent the plate back to be warmed up, but when it returned, the eggs were fully cooked instead of over easy, and the steak was closer to medium-well. The steak itself also lacked seasoning, and there wasn't any salt available on the table to adjust it. I understand that off days can happen, and maybe this was just one of them, but I was definitely disappointed since I had been looking forward to the experience. I would suggest separating fruit from hot proteins--especially when serving steaks that are rare or medium rare, where the juices and blood can easily soak into the fruit. Hoping this was just an isolated experience, as the place itself has a lot of potential.
