A good, cheap meal. Friendly service. Typical diner - huge menu, pancakes, omelettes, french toast, eggs, coffee. Kid friendly and outdoor tables too.

Clark's wrap

We were seated after 10 minutes when we walked in on a Saturday afternoon. I liked how open and welcoming the space was, and the servers were attentive. The prices on the menu were great in comparison to most brunch places in nyc. We got the Clark's wrap, which was straightforward and yummy with Cholula. The nutella french toast though was excellent. Fluffy and not too sweet! Overall good experience but I recommend skipping the orange juice because it tasted watered down for some reason.

I had an early brunch here, they have the full menu available at all hours that they are open so I was able to get spaghetti at 9:30 in the morning and they had mimosas which were perfectly blended. This was my second time coming here and I was not disappointed. They have a menu where something can appease to anyone. The staff is very attentive, respectful, and friendly. The food comes out quick and it was definitely tasty. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

I'm originally from NYC but never made it to Brooklyn Heights, me and wifey were ferry hopping and decided to get off at the Dumbo/Fulton landing. A quick 10 minute walk up Old Fulton and hang a right on Henry St and you will come upon Clark's. It was a beautiful morning so we decided to go Al fresco in front, plenty of seating. Now this may not be fine dining cause it's called a diner but it is a fancy diner. A manager/boss type dude saw us circling a table outside and walked over and helped, he even pushed the table next to it closer so we had more space with the bambina. Wifey ordered a breakfast burrito and the bacon was amazing (I tried it) and I ordered a western omelette wrap and the cheese was melted just right, perfecto! The food was going down right, the people watching was beautiful so we decided to dive into a little morning prosecco action, yum yum! It started heating up so boss man brought over some ice for the drinks, guy is a patron whisperer, I swear. We enjoyed a double prosecco and happily bounced happy and full! Prices were very reasonable considering the experience, would absolutely return soon. Once done make sure you take a walk down the hill to the Promenade and check out breathtaking views of the NYC skyline under the Brooklyn Bridge.

The fantastic Shakshouka

I recently had the pleasure of dining here at the recommendation of the front desk receptionist at hotel I was staying at and I'm so glad she told me about this place because it was amazing. The service was amazing, the staff were all super friendly and the restaurant itself was really charming and almost European in its design. It was such a wonderful place. However, the main event was the food. Until now I have never had the chance to try Shakshouka before, but now that I've tried Clarks', I need to have it again. It was amazing. To make it even better, the prices were reasonable by NYC standards and the portion was very generous for the price point. Overall I was extremely satisfied and glad that I stopped by, an impressive job across the board.

Smoked Salmon platter

Nice neighborhood spot with a great local feel with responsive service even on a busy Sunday morning. The planter was good, but not as tasty as I thought it would be. The salmon was really salty with a small portion as was the avocado. The poached eggs were good, but the potato pancakes really stole the show. Really crispy and thick. Not sure why the total combination just didn't taste as good as I would have expected, even though I love all the ingredients. The bacon was really crispy, but again, just not as tasty and seemed overcooked like in an oven. The sausage was good but pretty expensive for only two links. Overall, $50 is an expensive breakfast.

Solid experience, I was walking on the street and it looked like a cute little spot to grab a bite for lunch. The service was nice and the food was solid as well. The windowed area was pleasant to sit and read after my meal.

Having grown up in NJ, I'll always have a soft spot for a neighborhood diner. However, you will absolutely not catch me here during peak days/hours. On the weekends you'll often find a line outside and the entire restaurant packed. That is not the energy I need for my diner dining experience. Clark's is a beautiful location though with fully glass windows and an interior that reminds you of the good ol' days. My favorite time to visit is on an off weeknight (like a Thursday after work) for a casual catch up with friends or a quick bite before going off to do something else for the evening. There's always a neighborhood crowd here (families & seniors) and the food is always solid, but it won't blow your top off. It's good, casual, American diner fare. I love their small grilled cheese menu. One of my favorites is the pesto and grilled tomatoes where I also opt to add ham. The chicken wings are crispy and delicious. As is the cheeseburger. Clark's has a strong neighborhood feel and does diner culture well for being located in the heart of Brooklyn Heights.

Delicious walnut salad - avocado, walnuts, oranges, tomatoes and mixed greens!

My go to place! This restaurant has the best food. My children love it. Been coming with my son once a month for the past ten plus years and now my daughter wants breakfast as her reward for wherever! Their avocado, arugula, and tomato omelette is phenomenal. Even their coffee is good. Food is spectacular and service is exceptional. Highly recommend.

"Big Breakfast" with Brioche French Toast
CeCee S.

This is the quintessential neighborhood diner where everyone knows ur name. Very cute corner location. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is SOOOOOOO GOOOD and plentiful. The pancakes come in a stack of 3 the width of the entire plate. Likely 1 order is enough for 2. We had the blueberry pancakes with whipped cream. Full of blueberries. Great texture, not too thick or thin. The whipped cream melted pretty quickly but nice smooth creamy taste not too sweet 9/10; Nutella pancakes are for the Nutella lovers. Same pancake different topping just as good 9/10; big breakfast comes with your choice of eggs, meat, and pancake or french toast. The French toast was super thick and creamy. So tasty 9/10. This is a must visit while at nyu Tandon or in Brooklyn heights. Great food big portions but the menu is confusing. We wound up paying 30.00 more than expected because of how we ordered. This is likely an issue they have often as the menu isn't clear at all. TIP: GET THE BUG BREAKFAST. Anything else will be ala carte and the price will add up quickly.

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

They were unfortunately sold out of the lobster by 7 pm, so we didn't get to try it. I would recommend booking an earlier dinner time to ensure that you get to order it if the lobster is a must. Other dishes were still phenomenal, including the Japanese sweet potatoes and the steak al limone, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Their take on a tiramisu was a delightful end to our meal. It had just the right amount of sweetness, and the crunchy wafer layers added a nice crispy texture. Reservations definitely require some planning since they open up seven days in advance. My husband and I set an alarm to log onto OpenTable. As soon as the clock struck 9 am EST, we clicked the slot we wanted. If you're quick, your slot will be held for about 10 minutes on OpenTable while you complete booking. When we refreshed the page, the reservations were gone within a matter of seconds/minutes. I think they do accept walk-ins, but expect to line up early or wait quite a while. The restaurant space is warmly lit by candlelight at dinner, creating an intimate, cozy ambiance. Perfect for a date night or a special occasion. Service was stellar. As an avid cookbook collector, I was excited that I could purchase their cookbook, signed by chef Angie and chef Scott, at the restaurant. Best souvenir on this trip! I am excited to try recreating their recipes at home.
