The beer is so freakin good here! Came from the SF Bay Area because our favorite brewery in rancho cordova CA, Burning Barrel, had a colab with Claim 52 & it was one of my favorites. My first time eating here, and probably my last. I've been searching for a good Cobb salad since Cafe 440 closed. This certainly isn't it! In fact, it's a poor excuse for a Cobb salad--a hunk of Romaine with over spiced croutons, a few cherry tomatoes and a over cooked hard boiled egg. Let me just say that my wife and I were super excited to try this joint. It's pretty causal, order up front and take a seat wherever. We ordered two appetizers, 2 beers and the miso burger which was the special. The burger was $12 and I was envisioning a mouth watering experience. The appetizers arrived and they were great. The pot stickers were my favorite. Now for the let down, the burger. It arrived and looked like hell. A few sprigs of cilantro tossed with two pieces of onion lay on top of a well done patty accompanied by a store bought bun. Went here on a whim today after our Alice event in Eugene. I ordered the 1/2 order of cauliflower (which was PLENTY) and the fish tacos. The garlic aioli for the cauliflower bites were delicious and those bites were huge!! The fish tacos with sweet potato waffle fries were great too. I ordered a 4oz CBD drink (House-made Vanilla Cola) and she handed me a 16oz glass by mistake but did not charge me extra for it. I loved it more than I expected to! Also, they have excellent music taste as I vibed to my favorite artist, Grimes. One of the servers noticed and commented... I was so excited to talk Grimes with someone! Came here to eat after *insert big international sporting event here.* Thought we'd eat quick before heading to the hotel because it was 8pm and we learned most places close early in the small town and those nearby on weekdays. Host: No real host. Whatever server sees you seats you. Asked for an outside table (several open). Was told no because a big group was coming and sitting there. There was already a long row of bar top tables set up for the group inside. Ok, whatever. He drops the menus and walks away. Never see him again. Ordering: We sit and wait. More than 10 minutes later no one has stopped by our table. No greeting, no water, etc. A few minutes later the big group arrives. They are sat immediately at the row of bar top tables and immediately given water, drinks, appetizers, etc. They ordered ahead. That's great- means our order won't get put in after theirs. WaIt longer- Still no service. Six different servers walk by our table multiple times. Finally flag one down and she asks if we have questions. Come to find out you *have* to order online and they bring your food to your table that way. Servers do not take orders. The "host" said nothing about this when seating us. If you're a local, you probably already know this. But if you're a tourist in town for the 10-day *big international sporting event here* you probably don't. I ask if we have to order online for water, too? She says no and goes and gets water. Never see her again. No joke- the cups are the tiny beige plastic cups I remember from preschool snack time. Why do this? Why set up your servers to have to continually refill tiny cups for every customer?we drink our water and then order food on our phones with a QR code. Food: Food comes out within a decent time after ordering. Pulled pork nachos are very good. House burger is also good, as are the tots and fries. Not worth the price IMO but no complaints on the food. I expect to pay an up charge when big events are in town, but if this is the usual price YIKES. Service: Without exaggeration, probably the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. From the uninformative and abrupt host, to the apathetic and unobservant waitstaff- it was a joke. Flagged down another sever (apparently there is no such thing as zones or assigned tables here) and ask for a water refill (still hadn't received one), more napkins, and an extra plate. She took away ALL our cups and said she'd bring a carafe of water (why take cups if you're bringing more water?) and the other items and BRB. Never saw her again. Extras: Do not come here if you want water, napkins, plates, or condiments. Or if you don't have a phone. Never received a water refill. We were given ONE single paper napkin per person (when eating big greasy burgers and overflowing nachos) and the condiments came in tiny white paper cups (0.50 oz) where two dips of a French fry would empty the cup. Again, why set your servers up to have to refill these? Oh wait, they don't. They just ignore you. There is a balance between frugality and excess. They are downright stingy. I'm paying $16 for nachos. I want another napkin and a glass of water. We ordered a PLATE of tater tots. We need more than 1/2 oz of ketchup for the three of us. NOTE: This event was in the works for more than a year and a half. Local businesses have had at least 18 months to plan and prepare. Aside from the one large group (20pp), there were maybe four other tables seated with 2-4 people each- so that is no excuse for the nonexistent service. They just do not care. At all. read more

Second time I've stopped in for lunch. Both times have been good. They have done a nice job at keeping the atmosphere relaxed during covid restrictions. Having the outdoor seating with shade is great. The food has been wonderful both times and they have a good selection of beers. My teenagers, husband and I were in Eugene for the day and pretty famished when we walked past Claim 52 Kitchen so, we decided to try it out. We ordered the Cuban with tator tots, the House Salad with Fried Chicken and my supertaster son got a burger. Everything was incredible. Even my son, notoriously critical of all food, loved his meal! The tator tots were perfectly seasoned and crisp, the salad was gorgeous and incredibly tasty (my daughter keeps asking me to recreate it). I just had the tots and then I got a summer cocktail (can't remember the name, but it had cucumber in it) SO GOOD. The staff was really nice and helpful, one guy had just started that day and he was incredibly helpful and sweet. We will definitely be back! read more

I heard that Claim 52 had a new secret vegan menu and I had to check it out. You have to ask for the vegan menu, it felt like a super hush secret when I asked for the menu.....like they don't really want to advertise that they offer vegan options. That being said, it was super tasty! The new vegan bahn mi was really good! Pickled radish, jalapeno, and locally made tempeh on a nice crusty roll. It was a very delicious sandwich. The only negative is the roll was cut in a way thay made the large tempeh chunks a little awkward to manage. It comes with a tasty spicy red pepper sauce that was packed with flavor that made the sandwich. Can't wait to try the vegan tacos! They're tempeh tacos and I hope they're as tasty as the bahn mi! read more

we used to love this place but it has gone downhill in recent months. we tried to order THREE different items off the menu and were told that all three items were being taken off the menu (cauliflower wings, Thai chicken wrap, and a salad) but no new items had been added to replace them. These three items were our favorite things on the menu. the food we ended up ordering was ok, subpar bar food. the sweet potato fries we ordered for the table which were burnt and dry. Pretty good food and just "ok" service unfortunately. Environment was "ok", the outside sidewalk experience may be nicer if there wasn't so much traffic from local bums/riff raf most times of day with it being in the downtown area unfortunately. But I was most disappointed by the lack of "GOOD-friendly customer service" the staff seems like there always new faces or just not to concerned with jumping to the register when there's a obvious line of more than just a couple people waiting to order/let alone get there food even. But other than the long time for food to arrive normally and the register workers normally not seeming chipper or smiling etc. it's pretty ok food all in all; and makes up for people's crummy attitudes just saying. I really hope they can find better people to assist with taking the actual orders and helping people read more

My husband and I live in the West Eugene area so we are very familiar with the Claim 52 in our neck of the woods. Yet, we were still very excited to finally visit the Willamette Street location. First observation: Way bigger and a lot more seating! Awesome! Love the interior decorating as well. Especially the giant lit up marquee sign that shows all the beers they currently have on tap. Second observation: FOOD! They have a kitchen! I first ordered the crispy cauliflower but was unfortunately informed so I had to settle for the Buffalo Mac & Cheese and I was not disappointed! This Mac & Cheese is beyond yummy! My initial intention was to only eat half of it so I can have the other half for lunch the next day, but that ultimately didn't happen. Creamy, cheesy, and a little tang of spice. Perfect. Drinks: I can be a bit of a beer snob since I know really well what I like and don't like. I don't drink IPAs or anything that is extremely hoppy. I love..well...anything else. My husband lives for IPAs. 52's tap menu is varied so whatever type of beer you prefer you will find it on their menu. I ordered the Cheer up, London (English Porter) and the Sup, Brah (Dry hopped Mexican Lager). If you haven't noticed yet, they are very clever when it comes to their beer names. Came here just for the beer, so I can't speak about the food. Beer was pretty meh. I'm not buying their concepts. Why not post your taplist online so someone can see what is available? No webpage, Twiter, Instagram, or Facebook posts to see what is on tap before you (decide to) go? Belgian style tripel was the best of the lot, but still too sweet- not finishing dry and 'digestible'. Perhaps not enough sugar in the recipe. Westside IPA was off, as was the kellerbier. Krispy brut IPA was OK. I like that they're trying some quick/kettle sours but their fruit infused goses were not so hot. Hopefully they improve, because they have a nice location with lots of potential. Service was slightly below fair, even sitting at the bar. read more

We purchased the Cumulus Craft Brew Card Passport with Claim 52 on it. We drove around for 15 minutes waiting for a parking space to open up and, when we got inside, were told that the owner, Mercy McDonald, had instructed management NOT to honor the 2 pints and one appetizer deal offered on the card. They said they would do us the "favor" of giving us 2 8-ounce (taster, really) pours "on the house" (like, a gift???? ‍) and no appetizer. They said there was a misunderstanding and that they shouldn't have been on the card, so we need to take the loss. It doesn't matter what happened between Cumulus folks and Claim 52, the customer should not be punished. This was not a good experience, to say the least. read more

Great service (it wasn't busy) on Late Sat afternoon. Sat with a street view. Had the fried chicken sandwich. The bun was a bit greasy on the outside. It was hot and fresh though. I like the look of this place, the building was well done. The space is open but not communal seating, like lots of pubs and bars are doing now. There happened to be a Christmas party going on when we came in on a Saturday night, but they hadn't cordoned off the area for the party so we kind of were sitting with the company and kind of not.. so that was awkward. You order everything, drinks and food at the bar, at least that's how it was when we went in, you have to ask for the menus too. The menu is limited but that is kind of nice, you aren't trying to decide for days. My husband tried two different IPAs, I wish I remember their names but he said one was good and one was just so-so. We ordered tots with beer cheese, the tacos with carne asada and carnitas, and the buffalo mac and cheese. I assumed the mac and cheese had chicken in it because of the word "buffalo" but it does not. But for what they called a small plate, it was a very healthy serving. The tots were good on their own, the beer cheese was just ok, nothing spectacular there. The mac and cheese was just ok as well, but I don't think I've yet to have a bad mac and cheese! The tacos had a little too much sour cream sauce on them for my taste but the tortillas held together and they were slightly larger than street sized, with healthy portions of protein. I didn't find them particularly tasty but they were good. I would return again to try some different items or just for drinks and apps. Great find for dinner tonight. Ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich, seasonal salad and the pretzel. The salad was exceptional! All orders are at the bar, and we ordered a lot of food thinking they were just bar-sized muchies. I ordered the crispy cauliflower and it was amazing. There's a great selection of beer, and I realized all too late they also sell CBD Kombucha, and alcoholic Kombucha (I think it's around 5% ABV). The drinks and atmosphere were more than 3 stars, but unfortunately the food was quite disappointing. A great location downtown with nice outside and open seating, and kombucha, wine, and cider in addition to their beers. I have enjoyed their beers in the past, and was quite excited about their expansion to a kitchen when I saw the dumplings, gyoza, and other fun small plates on the menu. It does seem the menu has just recently changed per other reviews, and these items are no longer available. The new menu has pretty limited choices. We were with a group, and unfortunately myself and everyone who ordered the 3 different tacos were sorely disappointed and couldn't finish. Others ordered the burger and Reuben, which were fine but nothing spectacular. The pickled fries were pretty darn good, however. A friend and I were going to lunch and we choose Claim 52. After looking at their website and reading about the hours that they were open for lunch, off we went. When we arrived we were told that the restaurant was not open for lunch at this time. We were both very disappointed. I wrote to Claim 52 about their website not having up to date information and I received a very nice email from the restaurant offering their apology for the inconvenience. On arriving there last week a gift card was given to us for our lunches. Claim 52 was very generous and their food and staff was terrific. We will be regulars for lunches from now on. Service was great, staff were warm and hospitable--no complaints there. Our meal, though, definitely left something to be desired. Beer list is a bit of an odd smattering of options, with no classic NW IPA's (two double options, though). I guess this is sort of my expectation if you're going to be a brewery around here, but that may be unfair. Waiter recommended their tropical as a solid option--and it was pretty good. Something I'd like to drink floating the river; clean and drinkable but nothing I'd specifically come back for. The food was a major letdown, though. My kiddos ordered $10 chicken tenders which were actually tender-shaped frozen nuggets (I guess I expected actual tenders of actual meat). My husband and I in our constant search for the best nacho in Eugene, opted for the Bierria Nacho at $15. Very basic compared to others in town at this price. I should mention the nacho comes delivered on mini baking tray smaller than my son's kids meal, and hard to consider a "shareable ". I really feel like ownership needs to check out other breweries in town and to reassess what they're serving their customers at current price points. read more
