Just had a basic pedicure today and I was very pleased with my experience. The appointment lasted about 45 minutes, from walking in to walking out, so the treatment itself probably lasted 40 minutes. Silvana did a great job--my toes look nice and there was no discomfort during the treatment while working on the rough spots on my feet. They have a drink menu and a services menu at each chair so you can upgrade your experience. Also, it's still COVID times, so I was really glad to see everyone (customers and nail techs) with their masks on. This is a place I'd definitely come back to when I need to treat myself. read more

Go see Elli! She was SO meticulous, detail oriented AND she gave me the best hand and foot massage I have ever received during a mani/pedi- hands down. As for the rest of the experience: the facility was spotless, every single staff member was friendly and they are on top of their sanitation game. Just got the worst mani ever. I asked for a fill on my acrylics, and my nails are so thick. My nail tech also put the acrylic on my real nail without putting the tips on. She cut me multiple times, and the polish is incredibly sloppy. Not to mention the employees and other customers who refused to wear masks. The website advertises fills for $35 but I was charged $45. Overall awful experience and even worse nails. Will not be back. read more

I don't usually get my eyebrows waxed here but I did yesterday on my way home from work. The wax burnt my skin (see picture), and the gal waxing me was rushing her way out of the room. I have had good experiences getting my nails done here but I don't think I'll be back for my eyebrows. read more

Every time I'm in town I convince myself to try City Nails because the people that work there are so kind and friendly, and it's in a good area! However the last two times I've gone my nails have chipped, this time within 3 days of a gel manicure! I've never had this happen anywhere else. So unfortunately I had a pretty unpleasant experience at City Nails today for a number of reasons, I've been there multiple times and have been very happy with the service until now, so it was definitely a surprise. To start off, because I know they are usually pretty busy, I tried calling twice to set up an appointment. Both times the phone kept ringing with no answer, and it didn't send me to voicemail. I figured I would just try my luck with a walk in appointment and was told I had to wait 40 minutes for an opening, which I was trying to avoid. Once my time came, they mistakenly thought I wanted a manicure instead of a pedicure. I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence or not, but that is the second time the same front desk employee has made that mistake with me and they've had to scramble to find an esthetician available for me, maybe I'm not saying the word clear enough? Anyways, they sat me in a chair and got the water running, it was freezing cold and they almost forgot about me and the bowl almost overflowed because no one was around to turn off the water or check the temperature. Lastly, they had a puppy freely roaming the floor. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE puppies, but the poor thing kept sniffing around and licking the equipment and nail brushes that were on the floor next to the chairs. He also kept sitting by the front door and customers coming in or going had to watch out to make sure he didn't slip out the door, any employees were too busy to watch him themselves and just kept letting him go wherever. Again, I was surprised because I usually have a very pleasant, efficient, and professional experience when I've come here in the past. I might wait a little while before coming back again. read more

Dyane is the type of nail artist who keeps up with the new styles and is excited to show you what she has learned. When she gives me advice on what looks good I listen. Best mani-pedi experience ever! I'm new to Eugene and wanted to get my nails done the day before my backyard elopement. The employees were all so nice to each other and to their clients! Inna was so sweet and careful to make my nails look exactly like I wanted them to. She took her time and never acted rushed! My nails look great and the experience was so fun! Such a clean and inviting place, very big and open. Offered drinks right away, felt very welcome with my 1 year old and not a single person treated us like a burden. They used all brand new unopened tools for my pedicure, have a very good massage and sugar scrub, did and great job to paint them very well, and were just so friendly. Got to the nail salon and didn't request anyone, ended up with a man named Michael. I have had my nails done there before and always had a great experience but specifically this nail tech was extremely rude. Chatted with a friend the whole time I was there and couldn't be bothered by me being indecisive about color, borderline patronizing me (before he put the color on my nails). Any question I asked felt like a major burden. I was not offered anything to drink, not given a hand massage when the woman next to me who got the same service got both. He filed my nails, clipped cuticles and painted. Almost every nail is not painted completely on the side (see pictures). The very simple nail art I asked for was done super rushed and sloppily... I had the worst experience last night getting a pedi with Todd:( not only did I tell him repeatedly that the water was cold, but he cut me multiple times and just continued to wipe the blood away and then kept digging into my cuticles even after I told him it was really hurting. Then he literally dumped polish remover over my open wounds, causing stinging like crazy. The massage was 1 minute on each leg, which pretty much consisted of just popping my toes, and yes I did time him simply because the entire thing was a complete shit show. To All: Honestly, I am not the person to write a review about some experience had when at a salon and/or a spa, for example, but I feel as though somethin' has to be said about City Nails & Spa, both as a peoples and as a place. More specifically, I think that the public should know that the nail technicians and front desk staff are amongst some of the most hard-working people that can be found throughout the city of Eugene. Furthermore, City Nails & Spa offers an experience that often goes unmatched, even at salons and/or spas across the Big Apple, anywhere in California's Bay Area (read San Francisco), and the greater Miami area. Thus, I myself was shocked to learn that some person would mistake goodwill and grace for the systemic racism that has held back, as well kept down, Black and Brown peoples, Indigenous communities, and other minority groups, including persons who are gay, lesbian, and/or transgender, and there should be great shame to people trying to capitalize (misuse, really) on a movement that has been centuries in the making. ... I, again, cannot speculate as to the reasons one salon would attempt to denigrate another place of business through trash and trickery, but, hopefully, the many peoples in the Eugene/Springfield area will come/continue to see City Nails & Spa as (a) a business that supports/enhances the missions of a community built upon inclusivity and expansion; (b) a place where diversity is encouraged, and difference is the reason people matter; and (c) a shelter of safety during what can only be described as a troubling/troubled time.
